Celebration! (Sneak Peek to Part 2)
Author's ((( (((<,^,>))) ))) Note
In celebration of 500 views (which yes is a big thing for me...). I've decided to give you a little sneak peek of "Oh Brother!". Please note that this will be edited a lot before being added to the story!

PREVIOUSLY««« Steve was confused as he got up and started descending to the lower floor. How do people know I exist? He didn't really want anyone to adopt him anyways. His face turned to a defiant scowl, 'There's no one who could ever repla-' his thought was cut off when he saw Mrs. Barnes standing in front of him. "Mrs. Barnes?!" he said, his face lighting up.»»»
"Hi Steven," she responded, smiling.
He wrapped his arms around her in a tight embrace, "Thank you so much." He pulled away and they both sat as Mrs. Barnes was being handed paperwork. The paperwork itself was brief, after all, it was always better not to have another mouth to feed. Mrs. Barnes started walking to the subway with Steve shortly.
"Thank you," Steve repeated, very grateful.
"Of course Steve," she said, smiling, and putting an arm on his shoulder, "It took some convincing for my husband, he said that we couldn't afford it, but we couldn't afford to lose you either; James especially." she explained.
Steve smirked and thought 'That jerk couldn't live a day without me'. When they got back to Steve's block he grinned yet again. He was devastated when he lost his mother, he didn't want to lose his home too.
They continued to Bucky's block and walked inside. Bucky was waiting at the door. "Hey pal!" he welcomed Steve with a hug.
"Hi Buck!" Steve responded happily.
"Told ya, I'm with ya till the end of the line," he added.
"You too," Steve answered, smiling for the first time in what felt like an eternity.
"The people 'cross the road said ya couldn't keep y'r stuff because you didn't pay the bill last month on the house," Bucky explained. "Those good for nothin..." he trailed off remembering shis mother was within earshot.
Steve's mind drifted from Bucky's words. His memories were in that house. He grew up there, and most of what was left of his mother was within it, before he left for the orphanage.
"...anyways, you're sleeping in my room....you okay pal?" Bucky questioned.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine..." Steve responded.
Bucky could clearly see he was not, but it's not like he could help him so he just continued with, "Then c'mon!" keeping an arm slung over Steve's shoulder and leading him to his room so he could drop off the few belongings he did get to keep.
