Chapter 55: Brothers

The battlefield was quiet other than the sound of the wind whipping amongst the battlefield, every eye on either Naruto or Madara, who stood several meters away from one another, waiting on the other to make the first move.

With a single step, Naruto and Madara flew at each other. Naruto used his new sword, which he had dubbed in his mind the Sage Sword, to lash out. Madara used his staff, attempting to block the overhead strike, but to his surprise, Naruto's sword sliced straight through his staff.

Naruto smirked as he continued the momentum from his strike to land a kick to the temple using his heel before pushing forward, the tomoes in his right Rinnegan glowing slightly as three invisible forces hit Madara, sending him flying back even further.

"Every Rinnegan is different," Naruto spoke as he dodged one of Madara's Limbo Clones. He formed a chakra rod and created three more duplicates as he began floating in the air, lightning sprouting from his fingers tips before he snapped his other hand, the chakra rods flying and piercing the Limbo Clone and immobilizing it. "Yours allows you to create invisible clones. Interesting, I wonder what mine does."

"I hope you aren't getting cocky, Naruto Namikaze," Madara said as he sent three truthseeking orbs towards the white-haired man. "Landing a few hits and getting confident is what almost killed your friends."

"My confidence is none of your concern, or rather," Naruto flashed in front of Madara, his Rinnegan eyes widening in shock at the sudden speed he could barely keep up with. "It should be your main one."

Naruto used Kamui, phasing right through Madara and turning around, his sword impaling one of the Madara's truthseeking orbs. "Oh?" Madara smirked.

"It seems the quality of my truthseeking orb is equal to your sword," Naruto shrugged.

"But is it stronger than my own?" Madara's eyes widened before his senses screamed for him to get away. He dashed to the left and not a moment too soon. Naruto had manipulated a truthseeking orb into a spike in the hopes of piercing Madara's head.

"Tricky," Madara commented as he began rising in the air, his Rinnegan glowing. "But it seems that you are destined to lose this fight." Naruto rose an eyebrow before his eyes suddenly widened. Madara had flown up to the tree, which was currently blooming.

"Oh no you don't!" He shouted before he was engulfed by his Susanoo, the dark grey color radiating slightly. Naruto rose his hand, a giant Rasengan being formed in his large chakra hands, wind spiraling all around him. It formed blades around the giant Rasengan, turning it into a white color. "Rasenshuriken!"

He threw the giant Rasenshuriken towards the base of the tree, it going with such incredible speeds that it instantly shred through the bark of the giant tree. "No!" Madara cried out. He touched the falling tree gently before a twisted grin spread across his face. "It is still possible."

He began absorbing the tree, it twisting into a vortex and entering his body, a loud earsplitting noise that sounded like a siren screaming echoed along the battlefield, causing the access shinobi to wrap their hands around their ears.

"This isn't good," Naruto whispered. He snapped his fingers and the chakra rods within Tobirama's, Hiruzen's, Hashirama's, Itachi's, and Shisui's bodies up in the air. He lifted his arm up and the several chakra rods were suddenly sucked into his arm.

"Evacuate everyone from the battlefield!" He ordered, shouting at everyone. "You need to clear this place! It's about to get a bit messy," Tobirama frowned.

"And we should take orders from you. . . why?" Naruto frowned.

"Tobirama," Hashirama shouted. "Now is not the time to question! He is fighting Madara and warned us of possible danger for those not on this level," He looked up to Madara, who was finishing up absorbing the tree.

"Sensei," Sasuke whispered breathlessly.

"You're back," Sai cried out softly, holding his chest as tears escaped his eyes. "We got him back, Sakura, we got him back." Naruto smiled softly, closing his eyes into a small crinkle.

"I am, sorry I was gone for so long." He said, ending with a soft chuckle.

"Naruto!" Kurenai shouted, her cheeks stained with tears. "Is it really you? Are you really our Naruto?" Naruto sent her a warm smile.

"I am." He said before his features hardened. "I want to talk to you, Kurenai, after I take care of Madara, I want to talk to you and everyone else." He looked up and heard Madara's shrill laughter break through the air.

"Now Naruto Namikaze!" Madara roared, holding a hand up in the air as dozens of large boulders began descending from the sky, the same technique Nagato used when destroying the Hidden Cloud, but on a much larger scale. "You will die as I erase this reality!"

"No," Naruto said as he began ascending. "You aren't erasing anything, Madara." A small smirk appeared on Naruto's face. "You know, I actually thought you would be more of a threat, but even after absorbing the Divine Tree, you're still not too much of a threat."

"Bravado will not save you," Madara whispered venomously, his words echoing in Naruto's ear. Naruto closed his eyes. "Nothing can."

"Out of this entire world, Madara," Naruto began, his eyes opening, the light purple and six tomoes in each eye glowing as he held up a single hand. "You are the only one who is a fake. Almighty Push!"

A pulse came from Naruto's hand, a shockwave emitting from his body as it shot forward and meeting Madara's meteors. The meteors instantly shattered as the two attacks collided, the sound of the meteors getting obliterated echoing throughout the battlefield, the once large meteors being turned into nothing but dust.

"Impossible," Madara breathed out, his eyes wide as he saw Naruto glaring at him. "There's no way, how could you have so much power?"

"Just because you use the Sage of Six Paths' power to enhance your own, does not mean you are the next Sage of Six Paths. That title belongs to me!" He was suddenly encased by his Susanoo, which was now two times larger than it was originally when he had activated his Perfect Susanoo. The two chakra arms moved above over the head as the third arm from his torso also lifted up.

"This is the end, Madara," Naruto shouted. A violent swirl of different types of chakra began swirling in the palms of the large hands of his Susanoo, the night sky glowing even brighter than before as a fourth arm sprouted from the Susanoo's back, adding chakra to the mix as well. "You aren't leaving this battlefield alive!"

Madara's nose curled in disgust at Naruto's words. How dare this child try and end him? How dare he defend a broken world? He opened his arms. "Then attack me, boy! We shall see who destroys who!"

'Arrogant,'  Naruto thought to himself as he saw Madara gesturing. He closed his eyes, forming the large amount of chakra in the four Susanoo hands into a condensed sword that he held with three of the pair of hands, the one arm on the back of the Susanoo disappearing. "Sage Elemental Style: Kamui Dimension Slash!" He whispered and swung the sword over his head.

"Is that it?" Madara asked mockingly. "You didn't even hit me you foolish-" He stopped as a thin, bright white light went straight down from his forehead. His Rinnegan eyes widened as he suddenly split into two parts.

Naruto watched as Madara's body fell to the ground unceremoniously. His eyes narrowed as he saw Black Zetsu rushing towards the fallen Uchiha with quickness and urgency Naruto hadn't seen before. Naruto knew whatever that sneaky creature was doing wasn't for the good of humanity. He lifted his hand up and Black Zetsu suddenly found himself pulled from the ground and into the air and into the clutches of Naruto, who did not look pleased.

Black Zetsu's beady yellow stared into Naruto's glowing purple Rinnegan, the white hand covered in Six Path's chakra burning his throat lightly. "Obito-nii said that you were Madara's will, and now he is dead. What will you do now?" Black Zetsu struggled in vain against the man's grip that was stronger than diamonds.

"B-Bastard," He whispered. "You ruined hundreds of years of meticulous and careful planning! Mother's son's and grandchildren's chakra are in you now!" Naruto cocked his head to the side. He had been planning all of this? It would make sense, but it was also terrifying. If one creature could have such an effect on this world what could a larger and more dangerous creature do?

"I apologize, Zetsu," Naruto said as his Rinnegan glowing slightly. "But I'll be taking your soul now." Black Zetsu struggle helplessly as a dark orb was suddenly absorbed out of him and disappeared like a light bulb turning off.

Naruto dropped Black Zetsu's body unceremoniously and descended to the ground, his chakra cloak deactivating, revealing him in his normal form. He closed his eyes, deactivating his Rinnegan and using his Mangekyou Sharingan to use Kamui and bring Kushina back, who fell to the ground, landing on her hands and knees as she suddenly sprung up, her chains ready to fight anyone.

Naruto deactivated his Sharingan, revealing his sky blue eyes once again before closing them. He cocked his head to the side and smiled nervously. "Hello mother," He said from behind her. "Sorry, it took me a long time to get back to you."

Kushina turned around, her chakra chains dissolving into the air and her Edo-Tenseified eyes widened. "Naru-chan?" She whispered, unsure.

"Yeah mom," Naruto said embarrassingly, rubbing the back of his head. "I'm back." Kushina didn't waste a second as she immediately grabbed her son and pulled him into a hug, using all her strength to squeeze the now white-haired man.

"I'm glad," She whispered. "That you were able to return." Naruto wrapped his arms around his mother and smiled.

"Me too," He whispered. They broke the embrace and Kushina smiled at her son before hitting him on the head.

"That's for cutting my head off, I didn't teach you to do that, ya know!" Naruto laughed a little.

"Sorry," He apologized. He was about to continue talking when the ground began rumbling. He turned around and saw Madara's severed body twitching uncontrollably and instantly activated his Rinnegan, ready for whatever would happen.

Had Madara survived? The thought hadn't occurred that the man would survive being cut in half by a sword comprised of all forms of elemental chakra and his Six Paths chakra along with the immense power that the Susanoo wielded.

A familiar presence hit Naruto's senses and he lost all of the tension in his arms. Nine beams of light shot out of Madara's deceased body and onto the battlefield, taking forms of giant creatures that everyone knew as the Tailed Beasts.

Naruto deactivated his Rinnegan and walked up the Tailed Beasts, his head tilting upward to meet Kurama's furious gaze. "Hello again, Kurama."

"Naruto. . ." Kurama drawled out as if it was a name he had been thinking for a long time. "You gave me away." He said angrily, his vermillion red eyes glaring at the Namikaze.

"I'm sorry," Naruto replied honestly. "I have no excuse, but I do ask for your forgiveness, Kurama. You are one of my older friends and I betrayed you."

"Friends?" Kushina asked curiously. "With the Kyuubi?"

"That's surprising," Minato spoke honestly. Naruto shook his head.

"It's not," Naruto explained. "Kurama and I have been together longer than we have, father. We bonded because I sought him out and talked to him. We were partners before I betrayed his trust and handed him over to the Akatsuki in order to create what I thought was the perfect world, but now I realize that there is nothing perfect about a lie." He looked up to Kurama. "An ugly truth is better than a beautiful lie, isn't that how it goes, Kurama?"

"Indeed," He said. "Certainly you didn't just flip a switch, so tell me, what exactly are you planning on doing now, Naruto?" Everyone held their breaths, watching the youngest Namikaze on the battlefield carefully.

His eyes didn't leave Kurama's, they just stared at him for a moment, a defeaning silence laid out like a warm blanket. "I am-" He stopped as his eyes suddenly widened and his pupils shrank. He heard his heart beat from his chest and the blood rushing to his ears as he suddenly fell to his knees and arms.

"Naruto!" Kushina shouted as she was about to rush to her son, only to stop as two beams of light came out of Naruto's back, one being pure white and the other being pure black. The two lights formed two bodies before it revealed two different people.

One had spiky brown hair with a white cloth around his forehead with two bangs framing his face with slanted brown eyes and the other had shaggy brown hair with dark black eyes, reminding Kushina of an Uchiha, with a purple color on the skin above him eyes. Both wore the same white clothing with several tomoes gracing their collars.

"Naruto," Indra said as he looked down at the man who was recovering, sweat going down his face. "It seems that by waking both of us up, we could escape the clutches of your mind. Now we will end our feud."

Naruto looked up, his vision slightly hazy.

This war wasn't over yet.

And done. How was it? Good? Bad? Tell me!

ye

Til next time my lil demons!
