Chapter 51: Burning Steel
"Obito!" Minato shouted. "This isn't you!" Obito, who was standing atop the head of the massive Ten-Tails, smirked.
"Oh sensei, this is me. You are just ignorant to the true meaning of despair," A faint chakra caught his attention and his smirk turned sinister. "But I have a feeling that you will learn very soon." He looked up a little and saw Madara fighting his old rival, the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, with a grin on his face.
"What are you talking about?" Hiruzen barked.
"I can't Body Flicker over there, Lord Fourth," Shisui said as he stood next to Itachi Uchiha. "The Ten-Tails is holding an invisible barrier that repels any oncoming attacks. I don't think any ninjutsu will work."
"This is troubling," Tobirama said, his arms folded over his chest. "This is a threat unlike any other."
"Lord Third," Obito mocked. "I think you'll see exactly what I mean in just a few seconds. He's here."
"You don't mean. . ." Itachi breathed out.
Flashback
"Where am I?" Hiruzen spoke aloud. He turned his head and was shocked to see several others, including the First, Second, and Fourth, Hokages standing side by side. On Minato's left, stood Kushina Uzumaki along with Shisui and Itachi Uchiha. "Kushina? Minato?"
"What have you summoned us here for?" Tobirama barked as he caught sight of Orochimaru, who was standing in front of the crowd along with two other people. One having pure white hair and sharp purple eyes and wearing a long brown cloak with a large sword strapped to his back and another with spiky orange hair and dark red-orange eyes.
"Well, I'm sure you would be interested in knowing that this world is going to end sooner or later. Since I live on this world, I would much rather it be later, far later if at all possible. There is a war going on, one that has caused the three Great Shinobi Nations to united into the Shinobi Alliance, comprised of Sand, whatever is left of Kumo, and Konoha."
"What about Mist or Iwa? They may hold grudges but if it's a big enough of a threat then surely they would be interested in helping." Orochimaru smirked as he looked at Kushina and Minato.
"What?" Kushina hissed, never having liked the Snake Sannin when she was alive.
"It seems," He drawled out as he looked over to the two Uchiha. "That your son and teammate is responsible for the destruction of both of those hidden villages."
"You're lying," Itachi immediately denied it. "There's no way Naruto could have done that."
"Itachi's right," Minato argued. "Naruto wanted world peace. There's no way he could kill someone, let alone destroy an entire village." Orochimaru threw his head up and began laughing while Hiruzen frowned, knowing that Minato was wrong.
"Your boy has killed more people in the last ten years than any of you combined! He's working alongside Madara Uchiha and is dead set on enslaving this world in a genjutsu." Kushina shook her head, denying it.
"You're lying," Chains began to sliver out of her back. "There's no way my Naru-chan would do such a thing."
"If Madara is truly out there then we need to get to the battlefield already," Hashirama said with a hardened tone. "This Naruto fellow sounds dangerous if he's even a fraction of how dangerous Madara is then-"
"He's worse," Orochimaru said, causing Hashirama to freeze. "That boy is the strongest shinobi to ever exist, hence why I've summoned some of the strongest people to ever exist to help fight him," He looked over to Kushina, Itachi, and Shisui. "And then you three for psychological warfare."
"Worse than Madara huh?" Tobirama spoke before taking a step forward, his eyes widening in surprise. "We can move?" Orochimaru nodded.
"There's no point in controlling you. You know how you work best and I thought it best to keep you unchecked. You've all been fully restored to your original power, something that other Edo-Tensei cannot claim." He looked down to the mask in his hand. "Thank this Uzumaki relic for that."
"If there are other Edo-Tensei fighting for the opposite side," Itachi began. "Shisui-sensei and I can go and take them down." Shisui nodded.
"We'll get it done and meet you at the battlefield." Hashirama nodded and pointed.
"I sense a sinister chakra several miles that way, I'm sure we will find out fight there." Minato, who was still frowning, nodded.
"Alright, let's go. Hopefully, we won't be too late."
Flashback End
A loud boom was heard from the air as Naruto descended from the sky, landing next to Obito, his feet making a weird sound as he landed on top of the Ten-Tail's head. "Hello brother," Obito didn't even glance at him.
"Dealt with those pests already? I would be impressed if I didn't expect it." Naruto looked down and caught sight of his mother and father as well as his old teammates except for Izumi.
"I thought I killed Orochimaru." Was all he said, his arms crossing. "I guess the snake has more up his sleeve than I originally thought." Obito, who was attached to the Ten-Tails via a small tendril of flesh that connected to his lower back, turned around as Zetsu appeared, a pair of eyes in his hand.
"Dealing with Nagato was rather easy." Naruto then caught sight of the bodies that were once the Six Paths of Pain lying on the ground motionless.
"He managed to kill Jiraiya before Zetsu killed him," Obito stated before he took the eyes from Zetsu and offered one to Naruto, who grabbed it and looked at it weirdly. Obito took out his left eye, sealing it away before implanting the Rinnegan with ease, the Hashirama cells inside his body accelerating his healing as he quickly saw through it.
"This is quite interesting," He looked over to Naruto who was still staring at the lone Rinnegan. "What's wrong? It barely hurts and Hashirama's cells make it heal quicker." Naruto shook his head.
"I can slow time, grab objects, and phase through objects with my Eternal Mangekyou. What can I truly do with this that's an advantage?"
"Pull and push objects, summon animals, absorb chakra, summon the King of Hell, cause any part of your body to develop into a powerful weapon, and take souls. What's not to be impressed by the strongest doujutsu in the world?" Naruto shook his head and gave the Rinnegan back to Obito, who grabbed it with shock evident in his eyes.
"I refuse to give these eyes away. I prefer my vision as it is, implant it yourself if you so wish." Obito frowned and sealed the eye away.
"I prefer to keep one eye so I may use Kamui. I shall respect your decision however foolish I believe it is." Naruto looked down and saw a hole in Obito's chest, right where his heart should have been. He rose an eyebrow. "Kakashi and I fought, he dealt a blow that destroyed Madara's seal that he placed on my heart."
"I see." Naruto turned around and jumped off the Ten-Tail's head and walked forward. The battlefield was littered with wooden spikes with hundreds of shinobi hailing from several different villages having been impaled by the spikes.
He looked up and saw Kushina, Minato, Hiruzen, Shisui, and Itachi approaching him. "We meet again." He looked at Shisui. "When you left me I was but the learner, now I am the master."
Couldn't help myself.
"Naruto what happened to you?" Itachi shouted. "What caused you to become like this?" Naruto chuckled.
"I saw through the fabrics of reality. I became what I was meant to be." Itachi frowned.
"What does that even mean?" He asked his best friend or former best friend.
"I was a sensei," Naruto began. "I had three students. Two became my kids, and one of them was raped and killed by Iwa shinobi. I destroyed Iwa. Before that happened I had nightmares that my daughter would be raped. Then, I had a nightmare about the woman I loved. She was killed by my old comrades in Mist, so I had to kill them all. She still died. I lost all hope for this world.
"After you died by my hand; after everyone was dead and the only person from my past that wasn't dead was Kakashi, I broke. I'm fighting to destroy this fake reality and to create a new one! One where nobody I loved was dead, one where everyone lives! A world where everyone dies must be a fake, the me right now who failed to protect the ones I love is also a fake! So I need to bring myself back to reality and stop this!"
He looked over to Minato and Kushina, who had their eyes wide. "This is world peace! Nobody can fight the Infinite Tsukuyomi. I certainly won't let any of you stop me from bringing peace! This is what you wanted! This is what I want. Nothing can stop me now."
His Sharingan sprang to life, morphing into its Eternal Mangekyou as he glared at the group. "Not even you."
"Chidori!" He heard a shout come from behind him. He watched as Kakashi flew through him, his hand engulfed in lightning before he unsheathed his sword.
"DON'T!" Minato shouted as he tried flashing forward, but it was too late. Naruto shoved the sword forward, piercing Kakashi's heart and pinning him to the ground. "Why?"
"I'm so close," Naruto whispered to himself. "And I won't let anyone stop me." He unsheathed his other sword, both blades hanging by both of his feet. "And now, it's time to fight." He looked at Tobirama and Hiruzen, who were readying themselves for battle.
"I'm sorry we failed you, Naruto-kun," Hiruzen whispered. "But we must stop you."
"Save your apologies, old man," Naruto said harshly. "Now is the time for action."
"Is that really you, Naruto?" Kushina asked as she took a step forward. Naruto didn't move an inch as she slowly approached him. "Are you really my baby boy?" She was just a few inches away from him, her hand touching his whiskered cheek gently, her red hair blowing in the wind.
"What a fool," Indra shouted from beside him. "Orochimaru will die painfully for this!" Naruto touched her hand, the softness he remembered still being there.
"I'm not your baby boy," He said with shut eyes. "He died a long time ago." The pain in his chest wasn't fading ever since he heard that they had been brought back via Edo-Tensei.
"Oh," Kushina said sadly before she adopted her usual stubborn expression. "I don't believe you." Naruto's eyes opened, revealing sparkling blue.
"W-What?" He said in disbelief.
"My Naru-chan is somewhere deep inside of you," She whispered, rubbing his whiskers gently. "You may look different, but deep down you're still my baby boy." Indra was fuming silently as he stood next to his reincarnation.
This woman would ruin everything he worked so hard to do!
"No," Naruto whispered as he grabbed her wrist and removed her hand from his face, his Sharingan evolving to its Eternal state once again. "I killed him a long time ago." He phased straight through her and whirled back, decapitating the Edo-Tensei version of his mother. He knew it wouldn't kill her, she was already dead.
But he had to do it in order to stay true. If she had kept talking. . .
He looked forward as he heard his mother reforming. He glared.
"Armies couldn't give me a proper challenge, I hope you will. After all," He stuck his hand forward suddenly and blew them all back several feet. "You all knew me more than the average shinobi, or you used to anyway."
"I don't want to fight you Naruto," Minato shouted as he was engulfed by a bright yellow. "But seeing how easily you treated your mother, you aren't the same. I will do what I must." Naruto shook his head.
"You will try."
And done. How was it? Good? Bad? Tell me!
Anyway ye
Til next time my lil demons!
