Chapter 34: Demon

"And she's fine? You didn't peek on her did you?" Naruto said with a bit of an edge in his voice, his arms crossed as he sat in the stands next to Jiraiya of the Three Sannin. Jiraiya laughed at the blonde.

"I'm a perv, not a pedo. Geez give me some more credit will ya? She's pretty strong for a girl her age, I bet she'll rival Tsunade when she peaks or even surpasses." Naruto nodded.

"What did you teach her exactly? Toads?" Jiraiya nodded. "That's good. A summoning will do her good." Jiraiya shrugged.

"Depends if she builds her chakra reserves up or not. Using almost all of her reserves, she summoned Gamabunta's son, Gamakichi. He didn't like her at first but warmed up to the girl after she offered him a riceball." Naruto let the smile on his face grow.

"That's good. Anything else?" Jiraiya shook his head.

"Nothing too important. I taught her an earth jutsu that'll help deal with her opponent, but other than that nothing. You've done a great job training that one," Jiraiya said with a hint of pride. "Almost reminds me of how well I trained you." Naruto snorted.

"You literally dumped a bunch of scrolls on me every month or so, I just practiced them and taught myself." Jiraiya rolled his eyes, though there was an easy grin on his face.

"Bah, you're just mad because it worked."

"So, what are the matchups again? Your brat told me but I forgot." Naruto closed his eyes, trying to remember.

"It's:

Sai vs. Neji Hyuga

Sakura Haruno vs. Dosu

Shikamaru Nara vs. Temari

Shino Aburame vs. Kankuro

and Sasuke vs. Gaara." Naruto finished. "All my kids are going to win." Jiraiya rose an eyebrow.

"What about the Uchiha? He's going against the Sand's Jinchuuriki. Last I heard he was a bit crazy in the head," Naruto shook his head.

"Perhaps once, but that is of the past. He's changed, or rather, I helped him. I don't think he'll be a problem." Jiraiya suddenly got serious, his voice dropping to a low whisper that only Naruto could hear.

"Will he participate in the invasion?" Naruto frowned.

"No." He said, at least trying to convince himself.

"You don't sound too confident," Jiraiya noted. "Are you willing to take such a risk? I know you hold some kinship that I don't understand, but. . ."

"I know my duties as a shinobi of the Hidden Leaf if that's what you're trying to remind me of," Naruto said, interrupting the Sannin. "But I refuse to kill him. We Jinchuuriki are a rare breed, there's only nine of us."

"And he's the first one you met?" Naruto nodded.

"Knowingly at least."

"Hm."

The conversation ended there as the fights began.

Sai and Neji were up first, the two Genin first began slow, with Neji speaking of fate and Sai not speaking much at all, just insulting the prodigy. Then, the two really began fighting with Sai trying his best to evade the Hyuga's Gentle Fist, but he had gotten hit two times already.

As the match dragged on, Sai was able to send out two large beasts made of ink towards the Hyuga, who then surprised everyone by using his Rotation, a technique only believed to be used by the Main Branch of the Hyuga Clan.

"I found your weak spot," Sai stated calmly despite taking deep breaths. "The Byakugan does not have three-hundred and sixty-degree vision does it? No, I think you have a small spot right behind you it doesn't see."

Naruto smirked in the stands. "Get that prick, Sai."

"Impossible, there are no flaws in the Hyuga's doujutsu!" Neji shouted, practically foaming at the mouth in anger, sweat glistening off his forehead. "It is my fate to win!"

"And who is fate but an object to blame for our own incompetence?" Sai responded quickly making a single-handed Ram sign as the ink from the dispatched beast rose from the ground and struck the blindspot of Neji, causing the boy's eyes to widen before they rolled back into his skull, unconscious.

"Winner: Sai!" Genma announced to the crowd as they cheered loudly for the pale boy.

"HELL YEAH SAI!" Kakashi uncharacteristically shouted from the stands. Sai had a small blush of red come across his face from the praise he was receiving, never really having received so much at once, a small, real smile on his face.

He was happy.

"Now can I have, Dosu and Sakura Haruno to come to the arena?" Both Sakura and Dosu arrived, eyeing each other up and down. A confident look in Sakura's eyes while Dosu held a slightly scared look in his own.

"BEGIN!" Genma shouted before jumping away so they could fight.

"So," Sakura began. "I heard your sensei  bit the dust a month ago, must be rough." Dosu took a step back in shock. How had she known? "Then again, my sensei was the one who killed him so of course, it makes sense, he's the strongest shinobi in the world after all."

Naruto felt all of the shinobi's eyes look at him and felt his face flush in embarrassment, smiling awkwardly.

"I mean, killing an S-Rank ninja is impressive right?" Dosu got over his fear and glared at the girl.

"Are you here to talk and play ninja or are we going to fight?" Sakura smirked.

"If you think you can take me on, c'mon. I'm not gluing your feet to the ground over there." Dosu growled before running towards the pinkette, kicking up dust as he approached her rapidly. He raised his arm, sending sound waves, intending on disorienting her, only to stop running in confusion as she quickly crumbled into dirt.

"Thanks you old pervert!" Sakura shouted as she sprang from the ground right underneath the sound ninja, uppercutting him right in the chin, sending him flying backward as she landed gracefully on her feet, shaking her hand slightly as if to dull the pain.

"I think I heard your jaw break," She said a little apologetically. "Then again, you did try to kill me in the second exam, so I think my guilt is gone." Genma watched Dosu's body for fifteen more seconds before appearing on the arena floor once again.

"Winner: Sakura Haruno!" Another wave of cheers erupted from the crowd at the simple, yet effective way of how Sakura dispatched her opponent.

In the stands, Jiraiya was on his feet cheering wildly along with Naruto. "I told you I was good!" Jiraiya bragged. Naruto laughed along with his godfather.

"That you did."

Okay, deadass? This is getting boring to write so let's skip to the good parts huh? I mean, detail like this is SO FUCKING BORING! Especially after you write so many fanfics like I do, it's basically the same. Temari loses to Shikamaru, Kankuro gives up, yadda yadda yadda.

Right now, Genma just said start fight between Sasuke and Gaara. So, yeah.

Gaara looked at Sasuke. "Will you not give up?" Sasuke shook his head.

"I can't, I trained too hard with Naruto-sensei to give up." Gaara looked at Naruto impassively.

"You wish to prove yourself to him, to be acknowledged by him, correct?" Sasuke only nodded. "I too, feel the same. Though he may not be my sensei, he is one of two people to show me genuine kindness and concern for my safety and well-being. I wish to prove to him by winning these exams that his efforts were not in vain."

Jiraiya gave Naruto a look of shock while Naruto was grinning ear to ear, happy to hear those words come from both boy's mouths. "What did you do to help him, if you don't mind me asking?"

"Not at all," Naruto replied before continuing. "All I did was treat him like I would want to be treated, the golden rule as they say. I also beat the shit out of the One Tails so he would leave the poor boy alone."

"Not surprising, on pure strength alone it's said that the One Tails, Shukaku, is the weakest of the Tailed Beast." Naruto nodded.

"I can attest to that fact. Kurama put up a much, much better fight than that Raccoon whatever he is did."

'Because I'm not trying to make you go crazy.' Kurama said from inside Naruto's head, making the blonde chuckle.

'True,' Naruto replied mentally. 'But I still won fair and square.' He felt the eye roll the fox demon was giving him, only making him laugh harder.

"Then let us begin!" Sasuke shouted as his Sharingan activated, two tomoes in each eye appearing as they spun viciously. "I will win!" He then charged the Jinchuuriki. Gaara felt his lips tilt upwards, happy that he wasn't given the same look of fear his own siblings gave him from the Uchiha, but respect as a fellow shinobi.

Yes, this was what being happy felt like. He could get used to it.

Using his sand, Gaara tried to sweep Sasuke away, only for the Uchiha to use his newfound speed, something Naruto made sure he drilled into him over the month of training by making sure he wore several weights, to dodge the sand tendrils, making his way to get closer to the red-haired Genin.

Sasuke quickly flipped over a tendril of sand, only to suddenly get slammed by another wave of sand, hitting him backward as he landed on all fours, sliding on the dirt. "Your speed is annoying," Gaara commented.

Sasuke smirked. "Your sand is annoying as well." He then threw several kunai laced with paper bombs at Gaara, who caught them with sand and threw them back at Sasuke, making the Uchiha's eyes widen in shock before he threw more kunai to intercept them halfway, causing them to bounce off one another as the bombs exploded, causing a smokescreen to envelop the battlefield.

Gaara waited patiently for Sasuke to make his next move, listening for sounds of movement. Closing his teal green eyes, he listened intently before he heard a sound to his right. Quickly reacting, Gaara grabbed ahold of the noise with his sand and brought it towards him, only for his eyes to widen slightly as he realized his sand had grabbed ahold of a pouch filled with lit paper bombs.

Gaara tried throwing the paper bombs away, but it was too late as the blast shook the entire arena, sending Gaara flying backward as he hit the wall of the stadium, causing a small crack to appear.

Appearing from the smoke, Sharingan shining brightly, Sasuke emerged as he put the kunai against the neck of Gaara. "Do you surrender?" Gaara, who's vision was currently swimming and dizzy, looked at Sasuke with confusion.

"No." He got out before a sneaky sand bullet hit Sasuke square in the temple, immediately knocking out the Uchiha as he skid in the dirt. "Darkness?" Gaara whispered as his eyes suddenly fell from the wall he was previously stuck in, only to be caught by Naruto, whose bright blue eyes were shining, a happy smile on his face.

"You both did good, I'm proud," Naruto whispered as he scooped Sasuke's unconscious body up as well before looking at Genma. "I've never seen a tie before, are they both eliminated?" He asked.

"I believe so. Be glad, you're the role model for two very strong Genin." Genma replied easily, chewing on his needle. Naruto laughed.

"Yeah, I try my best." He then carried them off to the medical bay.

"What is your Jounin doing with my Jinchuuriki?" Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage, said a little angrily. "And what have you done to his seal?"

"Naruto merely fixed the seal that caused Gaara's insanity," Hiruzen replied easily, eyeing the Kazekage cautiously. "And it appears he's taking him to get treated of course."

"I've decided." The Kazekage stated, standing up. Almost immediately, feathers began falling from the skies as birds flew overhead. Several members of the crowd sprang up and appeared by the Kazekage, all baring kunai. A large purple cube enveloped the age and the supporters of the Kazekage. "I will continue on with Orochimaru's plan."

"It's begun," Naruto commented as he felt the stadium shake from the explosion, having just finished laying Sasuke and Gaara in their own respective cots. "I'll be back guys." He whispered before vanishing in thin air.

Reappearing in the stadium where Leaf shinobi were fighting off Sound and Sand shinobi alike, Naruto looked at Jiraiya. "You said west, correct?" His voice was emotionless, like he had shut off all feelings at that point in time. Jiraiya grimaced at the thought of what was about to happen.

"Yes, please be careful, Naruto." Naruto nodded.

"I'll be fine, just protect everyone, okay?" He then began calmly walking out of the stadium, knowing he had time, ignoring all the fights that were around. He created a single clone. "Go protect our family." He ordered. The clone nodded and quickly went to fighting.

Traveling to the western side of the village, Naruto saw what Jiraiya had indeed reported.

A large army of at least a thousand shinobi, a mix of Genin, Chunin, and Jounin from both Sound and Sand were emerging from the woods. Naruto watched as they filtered into the large grassy area that spanned five hundred meters in each direction, plenty enough room for what he was about to do.

He secretly thanked the heavens for his good luck, if they had decided to invade the east side in a more direct attack, they would've done almost irreparable damage to the village, this way, only a water jutsu would be needed to clean up the mess.

"I'm giving you all one chance, and only one chance," Naruto shouted loud enough for them to hear them. "My name is Naruto Namikaze. I've been tasked with not letting any of you pass me. Give up, surrender, and turn around now and you will be spared, those who charge forward, will die." He said seriously.

"And if you're somehow hoping to land a lucky shot, I can guarantee you won't. You're all weak compared to me, and even a hoard of ants is useless against an anteater. It is your choice, I beg of you all to choose wisely."

There were quiet whispers coming from the army as Naruto waited patiently, his arms crossed. They all took a step forward before charging him. Naruto sighed.

"No one ever listens to me," He took a deep breath, closing his eyes.

'Shisui, Itachi, Izumi, mother, father, Mikoto, Fugaku, Rin, Obito, please, be with me. Do not let me falter. Allow me to protect those I love along with my home. If it's to protect my home. . .' Naruto's eyes flashed open, his three-tomoed Sharingan appearing in his eyes. 'Then I will do whatever is necessary. I will cast away my own weakness and personal beliefs and become what I need to be.'

Taking another deep breath, Naruto began running at a slow pace, slowly descending upon the army as memories flashed in his mind.

The Chunin Exams where he slaughtered those three Jounin to protect Itachi and Izumi. Fear.

The battle where he killed Itachi. Anger.

The battle where he made Orochimaru flee as well as killing dozens of his shinobi. Hate.

Killing Orochimaru. Hate.

Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate.

"And that is to become the literal embodiment, of hatred!" Naruto whispered firmly to himself before full-on sprinting, reaching the army in no time, obliterating everyone in his path as he duel wielded his twin swords, leaving no survivors as he cut them down.

Two by two, four by four, they fell. No one was left alive. Down the drain, flushing their lives away as they continuously charged the blonde, hoping to get a single hit on him.

They didn't.

Using his chakra, Naruto extended his twin blades using wind before spinning like a tornado and cutting everyone who wasn't smart enough to duck in half, their guts and organs falling out of them as they screamed in agony, hoping for death as they laid on the ground dying from blood loss.

Death. Death. Death.

Naruto didn't waver, he kept slicing through those bodies like they were butter, his body flowing naturally and smoothly as he danced across the battlefield, dodging jutsu from every ninja and then killing them with his swords.

Suddenly, he threw the swords away as he made a single hand sign as he blew out a large ball of fire, incinerating those who were unlucky enough to get caught in the flame.

Dodging a fist, he grabbed it and easily snapped the man's entire arm in half before slapping a paper bomb on the man's chest and pushing him into the crowd of shinobi. "Perish," Naruto whispered as an explosion enveloped at least a hundred men, killing them all.

"There's only about two hundred left," He noted to himself. He had killed a lot more than the average shinobi has. He had killed more than almost any shinobi has, only a few people he could think of had tallied up more kills.

"RETREAT!" He heard a man yell as they all began fleeing. He cocked his head to the side.

"Retreat? Oh no," His Sharingan morphed into its Mangekyou state, a grin appearing on his face as blood poured down his eye. "That's not in my vocabulary, you all chose death now die with the consequences!"

Lifting his hand in the air, slowly forming a fist, the rest of the army was suddenly lifted off the ground, all of them clutching their throats as they were being choked slowly but surely. "Your place isn't just beneath my feet, but SIX FEET UNDER MY FEET!" Naruto shouted madly as he closed his fist completely, a loud cracking sound from all of their necks being broken simultaneously echoed in Naruto's ears as he began laughing.

"Hahahahahahahhaha, I WIN! A thousand to me! Who would believe that? Not me! I'm going to become a god and kill all my foes, that'll teach them! I'll teach all of them! The world spit in my face more times than I can count and now I'll drown the world in my enemy's blood!" He laughed hysterically again as his eyes turned back into a bright blue, his eyes still bloodshot and wide.

"I'm the strongest shinobi in this forsaken world! And I'll be at the top soon and force everyone to kneel before me and show them their rightful place in the world, at my fucking feet!" He shouted as he retrieved his swords, unaware of the single Sharingan eye staring at him from a distance.

Naruto suddenly felt a pang in his head as he quickly nursed his head. "Damn it, I just wanna sleep in Anko-chan's lap now. But I gotta go see how the village is doing, they matter more than my own comfort." He then rushed away.

Zetsu appeared next to Obito, who had observed the one-sided slaughter his younger brother had just dealt to the combined forces of Sound and Sand. "I hate to say this, but it appears that your precious person has a personality disorder." Obito shrugged.

"Let it be for now. It won't hurt him too much. Remember, our end game is to get him to join us, he's not at that edge just yet. He's close, but my little brother is not easily manipulated, he is a genius after all."

"Is he stronger than you?" Zetsu questioned curiously. Obito remained silent for a moment before nodding.

"Yes, but only because he has both of his Mangekyou while I foolishly gave my other Sharingan to Kakashi." Zetsu rose a nonexistent eyebrow.

"Don't you have extra eyes you could use?" Obito shook his head.

"Sadly, the Sharingan does not work in such a way. If I were to have both Mangekyou in my skull, then I would need the original back. I may have two Sharingan, but I only have one Mangekyou, and to get my other Sharingan to such a state, Naruto would have to die, and I'm not sacrificing all that I've achieved just to kill him."

"But he will die at one point, right?" Obito felt his nerves light up in pain, the thought of Naruto dying crossing in his mind.

"Yes. . ." He said slowly. "Though, I won't be enacting anything like that for some time now. Besides, Nagato still needs to do a few more things before he kicks the bucket." Zetsu nodded before both vanished from the trees of Konoha.

And done. How was it? Good? Bad? YE

So yeah, done in one sitting. Took about an hour or two, not sure cause I'm tired asf.

But ye
