Chapter 27: Rescue Part 1
Sasuke was glaring at Kakashi Hatake, panting heavily as his Sharingan spun slightly. The Hatake was just reading his pervy orange book as he suddenly dodged Sai's sword before kicking Sakura's forehead and flipping over Sasuke and planting his open hand on Sasuke's head.
"You are dead." He said before vanishing and reappearing on top of the biggest tree in the field. "I think that's enough training today, you are all progressing adequately if I were to guess correctly, though, Naruto's training is probably way more intense than I am."
"Naruto-sensei is quite determined to work us to, what most people would exaggerate, death," Sai answered.
"Yeah, and it can be really tiring," Sakura said as she yawned. She looked over at the setting sun and sighed. "Though I guess our progress is gradual." Kakashi then snickered a bit.
"Gradual? I would guess that you're all about low to mid-Chunin level right now, and it's only been a couple of months since you've become Genin. Your progress is quite admirable if you were to ask me."
"What do you mean?" Sasuke asked, crossing his arms over his chest. "We never come closer to beating sensei in any of our team exercises, even if we have the other help of the teams." Kakashi giggled perversely for a second before snapping back at attention.
"Ah, but that's like comparing yourself to the Hokage or something." He closed his book and gazed lazily at the three teens in front of him. "You guys do realize that he's the strongest shinobi in the village correct?"
"Is he really that strong?" Sai asked in a small voice, a twinge of amazement in it.
"No way," Sasuke said breathlessly, bewildered by what Kakashi had just said.
"Yep, now I don't know if he's the strongest shinobi in the world at this moment," He paused for a second to think. "But if he's not then he's definitely in the top five at this moment in time."
"How can you be so sure?" Sakura asked, raising an eyebrow. "I know sensei is strong and all, but isn't it a bit much to claim that he could be the strongest in the world?" Kakashi laughed a little.
"Well, to be fully honest, for the past four years, I've never seen Naruto take on an opponent seriously. He's had his moments and the rare bouts of anger, but I've never seen him once ever go full out. Maybe if he were to fight Hokage-sama and I at the same time we might see his true power?"
"I can't believe sensei is so strong," Sakura began before she began laughing nervously. "I just hope nothing ever makes him too mad, he might destroy the village!" Kakashi looked at her seriously.
"Please don't joke like that, it's definitely a possibility." Sasuke's eyes widened.
"Are you seriously implying that if sensei was angry enough he could destroy the entire village?" Kakashi shrugged.
"By accident for sure, and even then it would have to be a pretty bad situation. It's a very unlikely possibility, like, one in a trillion. Then again, if I put my mind to it I probably could too, and Hokage-sama could do it way easier than I and possibly Naruto, he's the oldest living shinobi I know as well as one of the most powerful."
"That's disturbing to know." Sai admitted, filing that little piece of information in the back of his mind.
"Yeah, but all of that is never gonna happen, Naruto's too loyal for it, and besides, he has everything under control!"
Anko glared at her former master who sat in a seat across the table from her.
"What do you want?" She practically hissed at him, venom coming off of her tongue.
"Mah mah, don't be like that my sweet lil Anko-chan, is that any way to speak to your master hm?"
"You're not my master you psycho freak!" She snarled. "You're a traitor!"
"Ah, what you call being a traitor I call being," Orochimaru smirked. "Enlightened." He stood up from his chair and began walking around the table, wrapping his arms around Anko's neck. "The village was too restrictive, it was fun to just let go of all my restraints and be free!"
"You torture people and study them for your own sick pleasure!" Anko cursed at him. "You're sick!"
"Perhaps a little, but if one is not sick then one cannot also derive the tiny pleasures one can obtain from life!" He exclaimed before laughing. "Kukuku my dear Anko-chan, I have a proposal that I would like you to hear!"
"If you even think about trying to get me to join you I'll cut off your balls and feed them to you!" Anko shouted as she thrashed at her chair, getting nowhere as the chains held her down.
"Ah, well there goes one of my little ideas out the window, but I had a more enticing one," Orochimaru said as he licked his lips, a wicked grin on his face. "Give me all of the information you have on Naruto Namikaze, and I'll get rid of the gift I bestowed upon you all those years ago."
Naruto has been sitting in the middle of the dirt road for several minutes now, his eyes closed and his body stilled except for the slow rhythmic motions of his breathing. Kurenai was leaning on a tree with her arms crossed, waiting. She knew exactly what Naruto was doing and she knew she needed to be patient and not to disturb him if it were to work.
He was trying to feel for Anko's chakra.
'Kurama, I can't find her. She's either miles away, or there's a barrier blocking what I can sense. Do you think you can lend me some of your chakra so I can look past that barrier?' Naruto asked in his head as the giant red fox laughed a little.
"It's flattering that you're kind enough to ask, but I've said this before and I'm never saying it again. Consider my chakra a tool for you, use it in any way you see fit. We're partners, it's our job to help each other out." Kurama said with a grin. Naruto smirk.
'Thank you, Kurama.'
Naruto's body suddenly erupted in what seemed like bright yellow flames. His body was suddenly surrounded in a large cloak with several black markings and lines littering across it, his hair was now standing up a little taller with two particular locks standing up on each side of his forehead as if they were horns.
Naruto opened his eyes, revealing bright vermillion red with a single black vertical slit going straight down. "I found her." He whispered.
She was just a mile and a half away from his position, and like those three goons from earlier said, there was a barrier that prevented him from being able to find it without the help of the fox inside his stomach.
"Kurenai, I know you get sick when we keep a fast pace, but I'm going to need you to hold down the bile, we're going to go save Anko!" Naruto said as Kurenai suddenly found herself in Naruto's arms.
With a healthy blush on her face, she closed her eyes tightly. "I'm ready," She shouted before she felt herself get sat gently on the ground, Naruto still a bright golden yellow towering over her, a determined look in his eyes.
"We're here already?" She asked the question. She wasn't sure how far they had traveled, but he had set her down less than a second from when she said she was ready. "Are we even there?"
"Yes. I'm pretty fast on my own, but with Kurama's help I can probably outmatch the Raikage's lightning armor." He said confidently. He then took a step forward only to get zapped by an unknown force that propelled him back several feet, the ground moving as he glared at the invisible forcefield.
"I am not in the mood to deal with this!" He shouted as his right arm suddenly grew above proportion of an Akimichi's when they use their expansion Jutsu and he punched the forcefield, only to once again be knocked back.
"What the hell? I'm no Saitama, but it can sustain a punch like that?" He whispered in awe.
"Naruto," Kurama began as he looked from the seal. "Try using a Tailed Beast Bomb." Naruto nodded.
"Kurenai, come here, I'm going to try something different!" Kurenai nodded and hurried over to Naruto. He placed a hand on her shoulder and the two suddenly appeared back at least thirty meters back from their previous location.
"Now Kurama, we can do this!" They were suddenly both enveloped in the bright golden chakra as the head of a giant golden fox formed over them. The fox opened its mouth as Naruto furrowed his brow in concentration, a black and purple ball began forming at the mouth of the fox before it increasingly got bigger.
"We're going to save Anko," Naruto began as his Sharingan morphed into his eyes. "No matter what!" The Tailed Beast Bomb shot forward at incredible speeds that Kurenai could barely follow before it hit the barrier, completely shattering it.
"Let's go!" Kurenai shouted as she began running, only to stop as she looked back and saw Naruto looking at her sadly.
"Kurenai-chan," He spoke softly. "I know you want to save Anko as much as I do, but-" She cut him off.
"You want me to stay behind, right? You don't want me getting hurt? I'm a Jounin too you know!" She began angrily. "I know you're the strongest guy in the village, but that doesn't mean you have to do everything by yourself! Let others help you for a change!"
"But it's my fault that Anko got-"
"No, it's both of our faults dumbass!" Kurenai shouted. "You may be the leader of this mission but we all share responsibility! Anko being taken is just as much as my fault as it is yours! We both bare that burden in our hearts!"
"I don't want you to get hurt!" Naruto replied weakly.
"Naruto," Kurenai began softly as she walked forward to him, cupping his whispered cheeks in her hands. "I'm a strong, capable, and proud Jounin of the Village Hidden in the Leaves. I'm not some weak damsel in distress." She whispered.
"If anything were to happen to you," Naruto began in a shaky voice. "To either of you, I'm not sure what I would do, I-" He was cut off as Kurenai gently placed her lips upon his. It wasn't a passionate kiss, nor a little peck on the lips, it was just a three-second kiss that they both enjoyed in the moment.
They parted and Kurenai gave him a small smile. "Let's go save our friend!" Naruto nodded.
The duo sprinted as fast as they could to the little village they could make amongst the trees, Naruto clearly faster than Kurenai as he was several meters ahead of her. In front of them were several shinobi, all sporting the musical note insignia.
"Naruto!" Kurenai called out, gaining his attention quickly. "Don't be afraid to kill, the longer we take the more likely of a chance Anko will get hurt!" Kurenai saw Naruto nod, but then he did something she didn't expect: he smirked.
Naruto was never one to boast about his abilities or flaunt his fighting prowess. She knew him well enough to know that he did not in fact enjoy killing, abhorred it even. But there was something in that smirk that sent chills down her spine, that just screamed run. It wasn't natural.
It wasn't. . . Naruto.
(Inside Naruto's Mind)
"I wonder when you two will make yourselves known to him, I mean, he is both of your reincarnates, isn't he?" Kurama spoke as he looked at the two figures lurking in the depths of the long opened gates of the seal.
"Indeed he is, but we don't think it's appropriate for us to make ourselves known just yet."
"Foolhardy as my little brother may be, and how much I detest to, I must agree with him on this, Naruto Namikaze is not ready to take this reality."
"But you both influence him in more ways than one. Sure, the younger brother may have been up and about for a bit longer than you have, but you are affecting him quite quickly, faster than he could ever do it." Kurama was visibly frowning as he peered at that two individuals below him, one standing in the light while the other stood in the shadows.
"Lately, he's been inheriting your bloodlust. Isn't that right. . .
. . . Indra?"
And done. Made this in like a few hours cause I got distracted then hella motivated halfway through. So yeah. No bold because it's too much work to just highlight and all that mumbo jumbo when I'm writing all this shit.
Anyways yeah, was it good? Bad? Tell me!
ANYWAYS: POWERSCALE TIME
Naruto + KCM2 > Alive Madara, Alive Hashirama with sage mode
Edo-Tensei Madara with Rinnegan > Naruto with KCM2
So just to be clear, Naruto is stronger than Madara when he was alive and kicking at his prime, but he is weaker than Madara when he is all Edo-Tensei-fied with the Rinnegan.
Anyways so yeah
Til next time my lil demons!
