Evolution of PDSA Covers

What's up, everyone?! I'm here once again to share something on you, people.

Pokémon: Dawn's Sinnoh Adventures! or simply PDSA had been through a lot of cover-change. Back at the time, I joined Wattpad, I immediately began drafting the first few chapters of the book and even designed a cover for it. It was nothing too aesthetic that I can proudly present to you but rather just for the sake of showing to everyone its very first cover in case anyone is curious.

Don't put your expectations too high. To repeat myself, I'm no expert in graphic editing for I am only just a mere novice when it comes to this. More like a hobby rather than a talent. Just have collected different artworks to be used for the cover and downloaded Adobe Photoshop Mix on my phone so that cover making will be possible.

And here it is...

So I literally just slap in the artworks here. I used the Pokémon official logo in here and behind it was a Poké Ball as a logo. As you may notice, I didn't include the title of the book because... it's just... I don't feel like putting it. There are so many characters aside from the protagonists Dawn and Lucas for I want to foreshadow each and everyone's appearance in my book. Piplup... er... I mean, it is obvious that he was Dawn's starter Pokémon the reason I included this little guy in the cover and Shaymin... I can't tell you anything further. And as you can see Darkrai is in the background with a vague image of Mitsumi and Tobias. Yes, they will be part of the plot and it is up to you on finding it out. Red will also play a significant role the reason he is included in there as well. That is all I can say for the sake of not spoiling everything. Who knows what might their role could be or who ELSE will make a major appearance in the story. It's up to my readers to find out. Stay tuned!

After a year, I decided to have a little change with the cover for I find it a bit messy. (Y'know how the subjects were arranged in an unorganized manner)

The outcome is here...

As one may notice, the only difference from the old cover was the position of the Pokémon logo and I scrape the Poké Ball logo behind it. Also, I changed the position of Mitsumi but her image is still vague. Before I forgot, Red is nowhere in the cover while the rest remained the same.

So I wasn't contented with the result. The previous cover didn't even last for a very long time and I went back to editing the cover for the third time.

Here, have a look...

I honestly didn't like moving the Pokémon logo to the upper left so I brought it back to the middle along with the Poké Ball logo behind it. Another thing, Red is back on the cover and his appearance from the FRLG games because the very first cover features the classic Red and not the one from the remake like this one. So, I became a little satisfied with the result and decided to stick on it for a bit while.

So, we're almost at the end of this (not so important) story. As you all know, the current cover is made by none other than a talented graphic artist who goes by the username ImberLapis. (She's one great writer too for those of you who doesn't know her)

So, there's nothing much to tell you about this. (Oh, really?) Just like I said, I'm not the one who made it for I only requested a cover from the aforementioned graphic artist and it is all worth the wait. I really love how it turned out because it is exactly as I requested but BETTER than I expected. Dawn and Lucas were glowing in the dark background that radiates the excitement of their adventure and is leaning on each others' back that hinted their close relationship (FortuneShipping :D) while looming above them were Mitsumi with a serious expression, Darkrai looking... dark, while Tobias is looking wicked with that smile. There you can still see the characters from my original cover except for Red (again RIP Red), Piplup, and Shaymin. Oh, yeah. I almost forgot that I also requested to put the title cover and Dawn's catchphrase "No need to worry..." as the subtitle and that fulfilled my satisfaction with this cover. I'm gonna be sticking with this cover for at least... maybe forever.

That's it, folks! Thank you for reading this as I am "Just Sharing" to you all how PDSA cover changes from time to time.

Have a great day ahead and God Bless you all! :)
