Chapter 28

[ unedited ]

Jungkook's pov~

I pressed the button for the top floor as soon as we entered the elevator.

Anticipation and satisfaction thrummed in me, taking me off guard for a second. Though Lisa couldn't have guessed by looking at me, but inside I was feeling like a little kid on his birthday.

I'd been worried she wouldn't like the arcade but the way she'd jumped about in excitement and competed with me at those games, made me feel all fuzzy and content.

Which was weird. I wasn't used to such soft emotions.

Now I felt the same feelings as I looked at her leaning against the opposite wall. "What are you thinking about?", I asked softly.

She was gazing around the elevator with a small smile on her face.

"Doesn't this remind you of something?" She gestured with her hand with a reminiscent look on her face.

I chuckled, remembering our first meeting. "Don't jinx us. What if this one stops functioning as well?"

She hummed, deep in thought." You were so rude to me that day."

She gave me a knowing grin." Oh how times have changed."

"Of course I was rude. You permanently damaged my ears with your screams...", I trailed off at her pointed glare.

I cleared my throat. "Which I don't mind at all. Infact I love it when you scream my name-"

"Jungkook!"

I smirked. "What?"

The elevator dinged and opened.

Placing my hand on the small of her back I led her outside. "Are you ready?"

"For what?", she asked, confused.

"For this."

Double oak doors opened into a huge ballroom. But it wasn't just an ordinary ballroom. The whole ceiling was gold plated, more than a dozen crystal chandeliers hung from it, casting a soft dim glow all over the room.

A magnificent fountain spewed water from the pots of several porcelain nymphs, the statues so life like they looked real. Soft, soothing music played in the background.

Lisa stood there with her mouth hung open.

She spoke after a minute. "This looks straight out of a Disney princess movie."

She looked at me with wide eyes. "You don't know but you're fulfilling one of my dreams right now."

"That being?", I questioned, ignoring that warm, fuzzy feeling again.

But she skipped inside without replying.

"Oh my god, this is a real life ballroom!"

I chuckled at her excitement, joining her beside the fountain.

"Are those shells with pearls in them inside the water?" She dipped her hand in the small pond.

She looks so beautiful.

Tucking a strand of her hair behind her cute little ear as she tried to grab a pearl in the water, I said, "You know, as much as I am pleased that you like it, this ballroom isn't where we're having dinner."

She looked up at me. "We're having dinner?"

I scoffed, grabbing her hand. "Do you think I would starve you on our first date? Come."

She hadn't noticed but the far side of the huge room was all glass, from floor to ceiling.

I heard her gasp as we approached.

Not surprising. The view was too stunning. As we stepped outside into the balcony, the Bangkok skyline opened up around us from three sides. The calm, balmy air ruffled both our hair as I led her to the very edge.

She placed her hands on the marble railings, staring at the lit up skyline with an awestruck expression.

As stunning as it was though, I was watching her the whole time.

She took a deep breath. "This is...too surreal, too beautiful."

"Beautiful, indeed.", I exhaled, gazing at the side of her face.

She chuckled. "You're not even looking."

I gave the skyline a cursory glance, then shrugged unimpressed. "Doesn't compare."

She blushed so hard it was visible even in the dim lighting, and I couldn't help but touch her red cheeks.

She licked her lips. "Flattery will get you nowhere Jungkook."

"We'll see about that."

~

Lisa's pov~

A small table for two had been placed just beside the railings. Jungkook pulled a chair out for me, than sat on the opposite one.

I'm 100% sure I'm in a movie.

The table had a mermaid shaped lit candle and a white water lily in a small jade vase. And of course the tableware.

As soon as we sat down a man with blonde hair and server's uniform appeared out of nowhere.

"Good evening. I'm Dennis and I'll be your server tonight. Ma'am." He handed me a cream coloured menu. "Sir."

Jungkook took his but placed it face down on the table. Dennis left us.

"I know you're not allowed to drink, doll. And I'm not much of a fan of alcohol either, so I told them to skip the drinks menu. I hope you don't mind."

"That's alright." I wasn't much of a drinker either.

I scanned the menu then jerked my head upto Jungkook in shock." These are all my favourite dishes."

From Gamjatang to bingsoo for dessert. The thing even had my favourite type of burger as a choice.

"I had a little help from your group members.", he replied nonchalantly, as if it was no big deal.

He had even talked to my members to arrange all of this!

Okay, I take it back. Flattery will get him everywhere.

~

Dennis came and went with new dishes several times as I ordered for the both of us, all the things I liked and wanted Jungkook to try. He shared my liking for Thai green papaya salad.

Easy conversation with him made me relax and I didn't even realise I had been smiling the whole time. I talked about our pets and my modelling assignments and he told me all about the preparation for BTS' upcoming comeback.

He even told me the names of the songs.
That's when I knew that this perfect, gifted boy sitting across me trusted me implicitly.

It was a staggering thought. But it raised new questions in my head too.

I put down my chopsticks. "Jungkook, can I ask you something?"

He did the same, sensing the seriousness in my tone. "Shoot."

I stared at him with a blank face, trying not to show any emotion. "Will you tell me what exactly is the deal with you and Tzuyu?"

If he was surprised at my question, he didn't show it. Instead he took my hand in his on the table. "Lisa, if I was free to tell you, I would have a long time ago. But I'm not."

He sighed. "Regardless, all you need to know is that it won't continue for long now. If what I suspect is true, I'll be ending this one way or another very soon."

His cryptic statements made me incredibly confused, so I frowned. "What are you talking about?"

He smirked, tracing the furrow between my brows with his fingers."Don't overwork your pretty little brain."

I smacked his hand away. "Whose brain are you calling little, you coconut headass?"

His smile disappeared. "You did not just call me that."

I giggled. "I did. Whatchu gonna do about that?"

He stood up slowly making me gulp. Why do I always put my foot in my mouth?

"Wanna find out?" His slow, breathy voice made me shiver.

"No.", I squeaked as I got my ass out of the chair and across the balcony like my pants were on fire, trying to get away from his threat.

His arms caught my waist before I could even step back inside the ballroom.

Damn. I need to hit the gym asap.

"That was cute. You look adorable when you waddle." He led me back to the balcony. The evening breeze had picked up pace.

"Take that back!", I was outraged. "I do not waddle."

"Have you been slacking off, doll?" He caressed my bare stomach gently, his front still pressed to my back."Hmm, seems like your mom's pancakes are getting you good."

I elbowed him. Well, tried to. "That's not the pancakes, jerk. That's the seven course meal you just fed me."

He chuckled beside my ear, making goosebumps appear at my nape. "Well, good. I like you like this." His hand wandered to my lower abdomen. "You should eat more."

I couldn't reply, he was trailing his nose down my neck. "Fuck, doll. How do you smell so good all the time? I want to bottle you up."

A moan escaped me when he bit at the crook of my neck. I couldn't take it anymore. I turned around in his arms.

"Call the driver."
