"I accept"
✧. * 《 CHAPTER ONE 》* .✧

Sanam rolled her eyes, "Sir, what can I get you?" She repeated once again. Not that Sanam didn't love her job, but serving high rollers was not something that enjoyed doing. These people blew through money like it was just tissues to them yet some were still stingy when it came down to giving tips.
This time the young man looked up. As soon as their eyes met, Sanam found herself mesmerized by his light olive green eyes.
"No love." He said rudely pushing her aside. She looked to his bodyguard who sent her an apologetic look, which she accepted.
Sanam bit her tongue and waited patiently on the side, waiting for her potential client to order. However his older opponent on the other hand made her feel uncomfortable by the looks he sent her way.
So Sanam does what Sanam always does, avoid any trouble that could cost her job. One of her co workers always had it out for her. One slip up could cost her a demotion and Sanam had worked hard for her position.
"Come here lamb!"
Sanam forced a smile and made her way up the old man, "What would you like?"
"Dry Martini."
Sanam nodded as she noted it down.
The old man slaps her butt, catching the attention of the green eyed man. But Sanam doesn't not dare complain.
"You." He signals her over, "I'll order that drink now."
Sanam who managed to catch a glimpse of the old man's cards softly muttered, "Use the card on the right. Then the third one on left. "
The green eyed man looked up at her in shock.
"So what will it be for you sir?" Sanam said more louder.
"Vodak, please love." He winked before throwing down the card that she had suggested.
Sanam had the pleasure of seeing the older man burst into tears as she walked back into the bar to prepare the drinks.
"Sala chutiya." [Curse/bad language in Hindi.]
Clearly the green eyed man caught her words before masking his laugh with a smile.
Oh, so the green eyes understands Hindi huh?
"Hey! New order!" Sanam called out to the bartender.
After grabbing the drinks, she decided to go to the side door to quickly check her phone. The last thing she wanted was having her bitch of a co worker Stephanie telling her boss that was checking her phone during work.
Sanam turned around the corner of the ally and immediately dropped the drinks that she was carrying. She covered her mouth in order to hide her gasp. It was the body of the older man that had misbehaved with her earlier.
"Oh my-" She couldn't believe her eyes. The body guard that was with green eyes was the one moving the body.
"You." She turned around to face the man that she had helped earlier.
"I can use someone like you in my business."
"Listen. I don't want any part of your business. I swear I won't tell anyone. I don't even have anyone. I'm an orphan. Please don't kill me." She closed her eyes.
Way to go Sanam, you basically told him that you were killable.
When she didn't hear any bullets, Sanam opened her eyes slowly only to find green eyes staring at her with dare she say pity.
"Hellooo?"
"Let's try this again. Hi I'm Rahul Martinelli."
It took her a second to realize why green eyes or Rahul looked so familiar. He hailed from a very famous Italian family. She had been him in the news he was one of those celebrities that everyone knew did shady shit but there was never any proof against them.
"How did you understand Hindi?" She blurted, "I'm Sanam." She immediately regretted that that was the first thing she asked.
"Well, Sanam, I'm not sure about how much you know about me. But I'm ethnically Indian."
"Ohhh right." Sanam snapped her fingers, "I saw that interview on tv the other day." She cringed. Why was she like this?
Rahul only nodded.
"Now that we've established that I know Hindi, would you like to come and work me?"
"Doing what exactly ?" She back up against the wall slowly.
"Say yes and find out. I can get you out of this shit hole and into New York by tomorrow afternoon." Rahul stated as played her hair.
"You'll have enough money to do whatever you want and as for living accommodation." He paused getting closer to her ear, "Thats all on me. All you have to do is say yes." He whispered.
His breath felt hot against Sanam's neck. Yet her eyes could not tear away from his. Before she could even reply to his offer, her boss ran into the room with Sanam's least favorite co worker. Rahul quickly hid his gun by tucking in his back.
Looking behind him, there was so sign of any dead Boyd that she had seen earlier.
"Sanam! Making out with a client?! I expected better from you." Her boss said after gasping.
"I-I." Sanam quickly disentangled herself from Rahul who smirked as she blushed.
"No I's, Sanam you're back to being sweeper." Her co worker sends her a wicked smile on her way out with the boss.
"Why didn't you tell them that we weren't making out?!" Sanam quickly demanded as she turned to Rahul who wore an amused expression.
"Pray tell, why would I?" He replied back.
"Listen that co worker kinda has it out for me."
"What the fuck does that have to do with me?"
Momentarily, forgetting that she had seen a body being moved, Sanam took a deep breath of air. She couldn't explode with anger on this man. But he had no idea that because of him, she lost the position that she had worked months getting.
"Hey, hey." Sanam hadn't realized that she started crying. Rahul's tone soften as soon as he saw silent tears appear on her face. He truly hoped that she would leave this job, she was too good to be stuck here.
"Look sir. I just need to be alone." Sanam said wiping her tears and pushing him, "I can't afford to lose this job. It's the only job I have."
Rahul watched as she left. Everything inside of him screamed at him for not bribing or killing the girl after what she witnessed. He couldn't bring himself to cause pain to the girl.
Fuck Rahul, don't get soft.
Instead of walking away, he found himself running after Sanam. Completely disregarding his previous thoughts.
Hiding himself, Rahul eavesdropped on the conversation that she had with her boss.
"Sanam look it's been two month since you paid your rent and now you're chasing after our customers?!"
Sanam looked down, "Look ma'am I was going to paid the rent as soon as you gave me the paycheck, but now I won't would able to afford it."
Her boss sighed, "Sanam, child. I don't know what's gotten into but you need to get yourself together."
With that Sanam's boss left. Allowing for the blonde co worker, Stephanie to taunt at Sanam, "I told you bitch not to mess around."
Then Rahul's phone buzzed alerting him that he still needed to go and continue with his business plans. Putting Sanam at the back of his mind, Rahul continued his way back the the high roller tables.
As he found another opponent to play against, he saw from the corner of his eye, Sanam, who had slipped into a short gold dress with drinks in hands.
He shook his head. The girl was truly wasting her talent.
Suddenly he heard a loud crash.
"You stupid girl!" One of the card players yelled angrily at Sanam.
"Hey, don't talk to her like that!" One of the opposite players spoke up before Rahul could intervene.
From the corner of his eye, Rahul observed Sanam's boss coming into the room. He had a feeling that this situation would not end well for Sanam, meaning that he would have his girl by the end of night.
He smiled at that thought as he throw down his queen card, "Gentlemen, I'll collect my prize now."
.......
"Tomorrow you need to pack up and leave. I can't be losing my customers because of your careless behavior."
"I don't have anywhere else to go!" Sanam cried out. It truly sucked for her to have her boss as her landlord.
"Sanam?" A familiar voice called out.
She closed her eyes, "How can I help you sir?"
"I'm pretty sure...I can help you more than you can help me." Rahul smirked.
She sighed, "Look I really am not in the mood." Then she sighed once more when she noticed Stephanie lurking around, probably trying to tattle on Sanam to their boss again.
"Look can I please just stay here with you, please?" At this point Sanem was slightly pouting and pulled out her puppy dog eyes on the man.
Rahul shook his head, "Fine but only until two because I'm heading to the club." Sanam smiled as she followed him into the elevator.
Sanam was stunned when she stepped into his suite. She had knew that high rollers suites were amazing but she didn't how nice they were until she was with her own eyes.
"Here you can lay down and rest." Rahul motioned towards the couch.
Sanam nodded as she took a seat and observed his room. She tried her best not to make it seem obvious that she was checking him out. He was much taller than her by at least three inches.
Stop. He's just being nice. Don't forget you saw a dead body today being moved and he was the one overseeing it.
He was already helping her but stashing her in his room. She bit her lip nervously wondering what her next steps should be. It wasn't like she had much to lose anymore.
On his way out, Rahul came back to her, "Sanam I do hope you think about the offer." He gave her a smug smile, "You can join if you wanna come." Rahul turned to the door and offered his hand.
"Um."
"I'm not taking no for an answer."
Sanam sighed and took his hand, "Alright."
She was glad that she said yes and went to the club with Rahul. Sanam was having such a great time that she had forgotten about her work disputes.
"You know...Everyday could be like this Sanam, if you say yes." Rahul said as they settled down for drinks.
Reflecting on everything that happened today, Sanam was positive that she couldn't let this opportunity slip from her hands, "I accept."
Rahul smiled and then he surprised her by pulling into a hug, "You've made me glad, darling." He whispered into her ear, sending shivers down Sanam's back. Rahul smirked and raised his hand for another drink.
