Just Middle School
So, you're here. Hi, this is my story. But first of all, my name is Taylor. My name will be used, others names will not because, well, I don't feel like it. But this just explains my life. I've had a weird middle school experience and I can't wait to drag you all through it from the summer before and where we are now. So just grab a box of popcorn cause shit is about to get real. And this time, I'm not afraid to tell my side of the story.

The police had just shown up, and I was escorted to my grandma's car. I was 10 at the time, and never seen or heard anything like this. An officer was talking to my parents outside and then my mom storms inside and slams the door shut. I sat in the back of my grandma's car. I should have seen this coming, really I should have. But I guess I just never wanted to think about. Just a few minutes ago my mom and dad were screaming at each other, worse than they had before. Trevor, my brother had gone out to get them to stop, but they screamed at him to go back to his room. To this day we still don't know who called the cops, but sometimes I think he had done it. Just then the car door opened and the officer wanted to talk to me. To say I was scared would be an understatement. He asked me what had happened and I told him all I knew. I got back in the car and Trevor was in the front. My grandma thanked the officer and got in the car.
"We're going to my house for a little bit. The officer is going to put both your parents outside, go inside and pack up a week or so of clothes." I walked inside past my mom and dad, not even wanting to look at them. I was almost disappointed, but at the time, I was just upset. I sat in front of my dresser, usually mom packs my clothes so I tried my best to get what I could to match. I then spent a week with my grandma and grandpa. Then I found the news came around to me. I was on the couch on my grandma's IPad when she was on the phone. "Yes... Of course. Yes I can pick him up. Okay, we'll be at the station in about 20 minutes. Thank you so much... okay.... goodbye." A sigh. I knew what it all was now. Dad had been arrested. And not for the first time too. He was in jail before but I never knew why. But he always said that breakfast was a mix of off brand fruitloops and coco puffs, and really stale coco puffs. We drove for what felt like an hour, which was really ten minutes and pulled inside. My dad got in the car and that started a silent and awkward car ride 'home'. My grandma had eventually made my mom and dad make up. Either that or they had to live together for our sake. But hings seemed normal from then on, until Christmas. Dad had sat me and Trevor on the couch and told us heartbreaking news.
"So me and your mother have been talking, and we've decided that I can't make enough money to support you guys here. So I'm going up to California to make some more money. I'm leaving in January. But let's make this a great Christmas and I'll come down and visit whenever I can okay?" He promised he would visit, but when he did it wasn't for what I thought. What I had noticed was after he left on January 7, three weeks later I heard my mom on her phone talking to somebody. I assumed it was dad so I walked inside.
"How's dad?" I asked. My mom looked at me with a smile.
"I'm not talking to your father, I'm talking to David. You wanna meet him?" Now I was very unsure about this. Some random guy my mom was talking to? I guess maybe I thought I was a friend of hers, but after I saw him, I knew they were not just friends. So I went to my room and thought. Great something bad is gonna happen. Flash forward to summer time, about June. Me and Trevor had gotten home from school and heard a car pull up. I thought it was mom until the person knocked on the door. She couldn't have forgotten her keys, she kinda needed them to drive. I opened the door to see dad with an angry face.
"Do you know him?" He asked me.
"What no hello?" He looked over and saw a trash bag full of beer cans. Mom drank, and rarely too out the cans so she had lots just laying around the house.
"Who else has been here?"
"I don't know dad, nobody. I've seen nobody." And with that I went to my room to be alone. I was happy my dad was home but damn, did he have to just barge in here with no hello no hugs or kisses? Yeah for his only daughter, I was pissed. He went and stayed in a hotel and a few days later, my Noni (my other grandma), my aunt and my cousin show up. Usually they tell us that they're coming down. Maybe to take us to Disneyland or to just bring us back to California to visit. They got out of the car and said hello and to go pack a bag. We were gonna go up and visit. Now before this my dad had skyped us and asked where we wanted to live, in Washington with my mom, or up in California with him. Trevor wanted to live with my dad. I wanted to stay. So while Trevor packed all his stuff, I packed what I would need for the summer. My mom came home a little while before and helped me pack. I gave her a kiss, got in my Noni's car, and drove away. Little did I know, that my mom was furious about my brother leaving that she kicked him and my dad out of the house after they got all of Trevors things and furniture. We all finally met at my Noni's house. We all hung out and went places, and then August came around. I was supposed to go home for school, but plane tickets had cost a lot. So my dad signed me up for Buchser Middle School. 6th grade, and since I knew nobody and all my friends were in another state, I was terrified. We were sent my schedule and I awaited my first day.

So there you go. That was the first chapter, or technically first chapter of my middle school experience. More should be uploaded soon. It was so hard for me to write this and think about all of it again. But I hope I can get past it all and get straight to 8th grade, cause god do I have a lot to tell about it. Okay, hugs kisses, love ya!
