Classic Trafalgar Quinn
So for Hanukkah I received this absolutely gorgeous set of Touch illustration markers:
This is the first set of actual illustration markers I've ever worked with, so I decide I want to do something not too detailed to start off and test them out with.
I've been watching a lot of older cartoons lately, and that includes 'Batman: The Animated Series'. It went on for a while in the 90s and I wanted to draw something cool, yet simple like the character designs they had:
And yet at the same time, I always, ALWAYS want an excuse to draw One Piece stuff.
And so I resurrected Trafalgar Quinn from my One Piece Suicide Squad chapters, only this time it's classic Quinn.
I don't think it's too bad for my first attempt at illustration work!(pls ignore the failed abs shading) I particularly like how I did his head area.
(Also just a quick fact: in older cartoons - and some modern ones - men's fingers tend to be more squared and masculine while women's tend to look more pointed and feminine.)
(So that's why Law's hands aren't quite as elegant as Harley's)
Anyway I plan on doing this with more One Piece and Batman characters, because, while I love Marvel more, I can't seem to stop drawing DC. Each character is going to have some sort of change to the costume/design depending on who I cast (i.e. Law with yellow&black instead of red&black, the hearts instead of diamonds, tan face, etc.)
Here's my battle plan:
Can't wait to draw the next one!
