Story Ideas #1

These are the segments that'll be about the different story ideas that I have that I can't write yet. I'll go into detail about them so it's one idea per part. Some of them are good for stories, others for shows, others even for video games. I'm a bit nervous about sharing these things because I fear the ideas will be stolen. But then again, no one fully knows how my mind works to pull off my ideas perfectly. I don't know. Anyway, let's get this started.~

---

Here's one idea that I'm really in love with. Now bear with me, because my thought process for ideas goes off the rails sometimes and my explanation might not be as clear to you as it is to me. I'm weird like that.

Anyway, the idea I'll share today is somewhat morbid? It'd be a very serious story. And I've pictured it as a show, but thinking about it, this idea would be really cool for a video game, too.

The story is some guy (let's call him MC-Kun) is homeless. Doesn't have a shelter, barely has enough food to get by, and his clothes are wrecked. One day, a man comes up to MC-kun offering shelter in exchange for house keeping services (let's call this man Senpai, because why not?).

MC-kun agrees to go since he'll be provided with things that he hasn't had in so long. Senpai buys him new clothes, gets him food, even gives MC-kun some grooming. Senpai is a well renowned business man and is pretty friggin' rich sooooo..

MC-kun starts living within Senpai's estate, helping him around with cleaning and organizing things. He is allowed to help himself to whatever he wants--

BUT...

He cannot, at any circumstance, go down into the cellar.

So, of course, for plot development, MC-kun happens to stumble upon the open cellar. He intended to close it, but curiosity got to him and he made a quick peek inside.

Inside the cellar, it was cold and dark. It doesn't smell good. MC-kun turns on the light anddddd there's blood on a table, a little blood on the floor, a bunch of tools used for really nasty stuff.

And a dead body.

Yeah, Senpai's a serial killer.

MC-kun is terrified and runs out of the cellar, leaving everything as it was before. He's nervous when Senpai comes home but he never says a thing about MC-kun's behavior.

The next day, MC-kun is makin' come breakfast for him and Senpai. Senpai comes into the kitchen and just chills for a while. Then he does this slick thing where he nonchalantly says, "I know you went into the cellar", and then it's like oH SHIT.

MC-kun is about to piss his pants at this point. Senpai says he won't kill him if he promises to not tell a single soul. Also in exchange, MC-kun has to help Senpai now since he knows too much already.

In short, MC-kun becomes a serial killer's helper. It's torture for him: seeing so many people die, seeing so much blood and gore, and being mentally fucked around by Senpai every other day. He can't escape without suffering a major consequence. He has a roof to live under, proper clothes to wear and food to eat every day, but at the price of helping to end people's lives.

And, the reason that I think this would make a great video game is: multiple choices and fates.

This scenario is perfect for different routes to the story and different endings. The tiniest decision can mean certain death or living another day.

Here are the different endings I've thought of:

Neutral Ending: MC-kun doesn't end up leaving somehow and stays working for Senpai. He even becomes a little demented for it.

Bad Ending: MC-kun is brutally killed by Senpai, and Senpai lives out his days still being a classy serial killer. To get this, throughout the story, MC-kun would had to have grown a bad relationship with Senpai.

Good? Ending: MC-kun somehow kills Senpai and ends the murders and the torture. There is another choice to make in this end. 1): Wait around for police to come since MC-kun called them or 2): MC-kun kills himself.

Suicide Ending: Plain and simple, MC-kun kills himself without having killed Senpai. Senpai isn't affected at all.

True Ending: There is a police raid to finally capture Senpai. MC-kun tries to stop everything, even takes the blame for everything Senpai ever did. Senpai shows up suddenly and admits his guilt, saving MC-kun from the trouble of being falsely accused. (To get this ending, MC-kun has to have a good relationship with Senpai. Otherwise Senpai wouldn't even bother trying to save him.) Senpai surrenders, but then tries to take something out of his suit (he pretty much always wears nice suits). Police mistake this for him pulling out a gun and an officer shoots him in the head. MC-kun is horrified and devastated. He sees that what Senpai was trying to take out wasn't a weapon at all, it could be as mundane as his wallet. It was only to distract police and drive attention and suspicion away from MC-kun. Afterwards, MC-kun is put to trial for being suspected of accomplice for multiple homicide. He can't be fully accused of helping Senpai so he gets off with some minor punishment for trying to sabotage an investigation. Later on, MC-kun visits a hospital to see Senpai. Turns out, the bullet hadn't penetrated his brain and only grazed a part of him, but it was enough to put his brain through trauma and place him in a coma. MC-kun expresses his sentiments to an unconscious Senpai and tells him how he's still living an okay life. This is where there is one last choice to make. 1): Leave Senpai and MC-kun continues to live his life, still haunted by what he's done but content that he isn't suffering anymore. Or 2): ....Pull the plug on Senpai and end everything.

That would be it. No matter how you look at it, the endings have some sort of negative to them. It's an angsty story full of, well, angst. But it would be amazing to show the twisted psyche of a serial killer and to gradually see the toll that influence takes on someone so innocent. There would be action and drama, decisions to make that seem so minor but create something tragic later on. Yes, there can be lighthearted scenes, but (say this was a video game) you'd realize as you played that certain part, that it would all go to hell no matter what. The sense of dread and fear still lingers, even when it looks like everything will be okay.

I love this idea and I hope I can make it come to life at some point. Maybe in the form of a video game, like I imagine it. Who knows?

Tell me what you guys think of it. If it was a game, would you play it, even though it's a disturbing story, even if it fucked you up?

See ya. c:
