Sorting Moody & Tournaments

"I think we had better get into our robes." Hermione said, "Krystal, you can borrow one of mine for the time being granted the crest is of Gryffindor House."

Krystal smiled and thanked her.

The boys left while Hermione and Krystal quickly got changed into the required school robes.

"They're a little small aren't they?" Krystal asked uncomfortably as she removed the robe because it was too tight and embarrassingly tugged at the skirt trying to make it come down more,

"They aren't too bad." Hermione stated trying to reassure me.

"How do you think I'll get books and robes, or a wand or anything really?" Krystal asked Hermuone suddenly worried that Dumbledore would send her back home.

All Krystal had ever wanted was to receive a Hogwarts letter and attend the famous school. To learn and perform magic, to watch quiddich live and drink butter beer in Hogsmeade. And to think She could possibly be getting it, Krystal couldn't help but smile, even if she was dreaming.

"I'm sure Dumbledore will arrange to have someone take you shopping, you may not have gotten a letter but somehow you're here and that doesn't just happen. Muggles don't know about the platform, you're meant to be here." Hermione said reassuringly.

The boys came back and they started getting their things ready.

"Wow, you look good in Gryffindor robes." Ron said without thinking. Krystal blushed furiously as Hermione smacked him.

After twenty minutes the train started to slow and finally it came to a halt.

The four of them collected their belongings and began to make their way out of the corridor.

Krystal just wanted to hide in the crowd and blend in so no one would notice her provocative school uniform.

But of course everyone was looking at her.

"Just ignore them." Hardy offered her kindly.

But then the same charming boy from the trolley walked straight over to her, "wow..." he sounded before he removed his long robe and gently placed it over her shoulders, "there we are,"

"Thank you." Krystal said as the crowd was growing behind them as everyone was still trying to exit the train, the rain was pouring down as everyone finally got off.

"I wouldn't want to cross the lake in this weather." Hermione stated.

"You can say that again." Krystal agreed promptly as she tried to shield her face from the falling rain.

"Krystal Montgomery." Hagrids booming voice sounded, she turned and held her hand up.

"Here." She sounded unsure

He nodded and smiled at her, "Yer to ride with us."

Harry, Ron, and Hermione tried to suppress their laughter.

"Aw crap." Krystal sighed.

"Well at least you know you were expected to arrive." Harry pointed out.

"Here let me help you." The same boy from before sounded as he held his hand out to her.

Krystal's cheeks burned as she found herself suddenly filling this damsel in distress role, but more so because this boy while very chivalrous and charming was also very very hot.

Krystal nodded and took his hand as they followed Hagrid

Hagrid led them to the boats and pointed out Krystal would have her own boat. The boy easily helped Krystal into the steady boat, "Thank you...again."

He nodded, "any time, see you in there.

Krystal smiled at him and soon they were off. She also suddenly realized she hadn't even asked his name.

The boats were somehow charmed so that the passengers stayed warm and dry, once everyone got into the castle they were greeted by the very regal Professor McGonagall. Just like in book one she welcomed them and told the group all about being sorted into houses as well as house points and how they worked.

"Krystal Montgomery?" She called.

Krystal timidly stepped forward.

Her eyes widened at the extremely inappropriate outfit.

As a budding 15 year old wearing a 14year olds clothes things were just a little too tight and just a tad on the short side.

"Ah yes," she said, she waved her wand and the outfit extended to fit properly. "You dear will also be sorted but given your age you will be placed in 5th year. I'm sure with a proper tutor and a lot of after school sessions you can catch up quickly." She assured me. "Also I will need to see you after dinner." She said then ushered them all into the Great Hall.

Krystal along with most of the first years stared awestruck at the wonderful ceiling, it was an exact replica of the stormy nights sky they had just seen only moments ago. Grey and stormy without a star in sight.

Every first year was sorted one by one and finally Krystal was the only person left standing.

Dumbledore rose from his seat and walked up to the podium.

"Dear students and professors alike, I would like to introduce you all to Miss Krystal Montgomery."

She tried to keep the blush from her face and put on her best smile.

"She is new to our school, a first in Hogwarts history. I would like everyone to welcome her into our school and be kind, let us all remember that we were all once new to this school ourselves." He said.

There was a round of applause and then she was beckoned to the stool.

Krystal sat on the high stool and professor McGonagall placed the historic sorting hat onto her head.

"Ahh, so much knowledge, possibly a Ravenclaw. Bravery of a Gryffindor, and power of a Slytherin. You are the prime example of what the Lion requires." The hat spoke "GRYFFINDOR!"

The table cheered while the other houses clapped with the exception of the Slytherins.

The feast began and Krystal happily dug into food and treats of all sorts.

When the last crumb had vanished and the plates where magically cleaned spotless Dumbledore rose once more to address the students.

"So!" Dumbledore said with a smile "now that we are all fed and watered."

Hermione then crossed her arms angrily and grunted to his response. Krystal was being sorted but having read the books so many times before she knew Hermione was upset about finding out Hogwarts has House elves.

Dumbledore went over the usual guidelines of rules and regulations. "It is also my painful duty that the inner house Quidditch cup will not take place this year."

Students began to stir and silently ask each other why. But Dumbledore went on.

"This is due to an event that will be starting in October, and continuing throughout the school year, taking up much of the teacher time an energy....but I am sure you will all enjoy it immensely. I have great pleasure in announcing that this year at Hogwarts-"

Just then there was a deafening rumble of thunder and the doors of the hall banged open, there in the doorway stood Moody leaning on a long staff.

Krystal watched him walk slowly up to the long table of professors knowing all too well that This man isn't the real moody, that this man is a Death Eater in polyjuice potion disguise.

'Is this why I am here?' Krystal thought?

Just like the sorting hat had said, Krystal has the knowledge to stop him. Having read the books she has all the knowledge of what is suppose to happen.

'I alone could change the entire course of the entire Harry potter books.' Krystal's thought expanded

But then she slowly started to second guess things as she remembered her grandmothers favorite saying. "Everything happens for a reason."

She already knew her presence here caused a rift in the original story and something's would be changed, but she decided it would be her job to make sure everything tried to stay on course as it should...or at least she hoped.

"May I introduce our new defense against the dark arts teacher, Professor Moody." Dumbledore said warmly.

The Great Hall stayed silent with the exception of Dumbledore's cheerful claps.

The trio as well as quite a bit of other students fell into whispers about Moody until Dumbledore cleared his throat.

"As I was saying" he said with a smile. "We are to have the honor of hosting a very exciting event over the coming months, an event that has not been held in over a century. It is my very great pleasure to inform you that the Tri-Wizard Tournament will be taking place at Hogwarts this year."

"Your JOKING!" Fred Weasley proclaimed causing everyone to laugh including Dumbledore.

"I am not joking, Mr. Weasley, though now that you mention it I did hear an excellent one about a troll, a hag, and a leprechaun who all go into a bar..."

Professor McGonagall cleared her throat to stop his rambling.

"Where was I? Oh yes" Dumbledore said, he then went on to explain the tournament.

"Eager though I know all of you will be to bring the Tri-wizarding cup to Hogwarts, the heads of the participating schools along with the Ministry of Magic, have agreed to impose an age restriction on contenders this year. Only students who are of age...that is to say, seventeen years or older...will be allowed to put forward their names for consideration."

Random outburst of opposition came from all around the great hall.

"The delegations from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang will be arriving in October and remaining with us for the greater part of this year." Dumbledore continued. "Now it is late and I know how important it is to you all to be alert and rested as you enter your lessons tomorrow morning. Bedtime! Chop chop."

The tables cleared and students began to make their way to their house dormitories. Professor McGonagall walked up to Krystal.

"With me Miss Montgomery." She said and then took off walking briskly.
