As I ran towards the hospital, thoughts started running through my head. Like, is he alive? How bad is he hurt? Is it even Jake that got hit? I started worrying so much that I almost ran straight into people, multiple times on the way there. I wanted to make sure he was ok, or just know that he's even alive. Honestly, the guy just showed up in my life and he's just running back out? In a bang too. Wow, listen to me making ridiculous jokes about someone dying. I finally got to the hospital and I asked if Jake Collington was here. I got the answer yes. My heart dropped, but I quickly found my way to Jake's room. He was in a typical hospital outfit and a bandage on his side, his arm and both his legs. I quietly ran up to his side. "Jake?" I whispered. He opened his eyes and slowly turned his head towards me. "Thalia?" He asked? With tears in my eyes I answered "Yes Jake, it's me" I honestly couldn't believe he was alive, I felt so relieved. I started crying. I'm actually not sure why, but I was. With my face in my hands I just let it all out. "Thalia" Jake said. "Yes?" I answered. "Why...why did you come?" Jake asked. I didn't know what to say. Not that long ago I had wanted to kick him out of my life, I had wanted to just forget about him, forget the reminder of all the heartache I'd had from guys. Then Jake came. He came into my life smiling like a goof, cute but totally ridiculous, he came and opened up to me with his music, with his time. Stupid me just realized then, that I cared about Jake, like, I really cared about him, I cared if he lived or not... after a long pause I answered. "Because I care about you Jake." Jake looked surprised and a small blush had started to appear on his face. "You...you care about me?" Jake stuttered. "Yes, yes I do Jake" I hugged him gently. It actually felt pretty good. He smelled pretty good too. Jake hugged back and it made the feeling so much better. "Thalia" Jake said. "Yes?" I answered. "W...would you be my girlfriend?" My mind stopped working and I couldn't answer. "The doctors say I'll be fine in a couple weeks, so I'll be alive to be your boyfriend. If you want that is" Jake blushed a bit. I couldn't believe he actually wanted me to be his girlfriend. I mean, after all the guys rejected me, someone actually comes along and likes me? And wants me to be his girlfriend? Jake was amazing, he really was, I've seen it after jamming together and talking at the park. I hugged him and answered "Yes,  yes I do want to be your girlfriend Jake, under one condition though" Jake gave me a puzzled look "you don't get hit by any more cars" I said. Jake laughed "it's a deal" we both burst out laughing. A few weeks later Jake and I walked hand in hand through the park. It was summer break and Jake, for the most part, had healed from his injuries. He was my boyfriend and I was his girlfriend. My life had gone from being a lone wolf to, being someone else's world. It was strange, I mean, my parents hadn't even loved me, now Jake couldn't love me enough. He showed it to me everyday, from giving me flowers just cause, to a kiss on the forehead and then to giving me giant teddy bears. He took me out on movie dates and he sends me handwritten notes every now and then. I honestly couldn't believe how my life is now, it's amazing. I mean, I kept on trying to live life, hoping it'd get better, and now I'm loving the most amazing guy I have ever met.
