Another day at Ekoda High School where Kuroba Kaito was reading the news in class... again. Not that anyone really cared. He was smart and charming being a magician, so he got his own way everytime.

"Hee hee," snickered Kaito as he read a certain article. "So that old man is challenging me again?"

The article said of a new treasure with a challenge to Kaitou Kid. The treasure was held at Suzuki Museum. A picture of a giant diamond on a golden ring was held by the old man Suzuki with a smug smile just saying "Come and get it!"

That old man never learns, huh?

"That old man is really persistant, huh?" Aoko said, looking over Kaito's shoulder.

"Oi, Aoko! You scared me!" Kaito jumped.

Aoko giggled. "You are not usually that easy to scare. What's up?"

"Nothing much, except..." Kaito said.

"Except?" Aoko asked.

He drew a blue rose out of nowhere, gave it to Aoko and kissed her hand.

"You look very lovely today..." Kaito said. Aoko blushed, wondering what's going on. While she was distracted, Kaito flipped her skirt and muttered, "Red, very bold... Heehee."

Unfortunately, Aoko noticed and she blushed even harder.

"Bakaito!" Aoko shouted and grabbed the nearest mop that she could find but that said, it was more a sword in her hands.

He was so dead but Kaito just grinned. "Now, Aoko, don't be like that," he pretend pouted, "That's not feminine of you."

"I'll show you something, Bakaito!"she yelled and swung the mop which Kaito skilfully dodged.

It was still class time with the teacher teaching but they were used to it so they pretended it doesn't exist. Very hard, but give them a break.

The next day...

Everyone was on the buzz at the beginning of school and everyone was talking about one thing: Kaitou Kid.

Kaito, of course, read the newspaper again. His notice was on the front page. A very simple one this time.

I accept the challenge and will steal the Jupiter's Ring from Adviser Suzuki on Friday the 13 at midnight when the full moon shines brightly.

Kaitou Kid

With the logo and everything. It was sent last evening. Kaito remembered that day well.

(Flashback)- Kaito POV

Last evening, I suited a disguise of a simple worker as I infiltrated the museum. It was still the same except there were now opals in cases of water, just like when I stole those opals for Nightmare.

Otherwise, everything was the same as usual. I bumped my way into someone while just walking around aimlessly. It was the old man Suzuki.

"Watch it, kid!" Suzuki barked.

"Oh, I'm sorry, sir," I answered and clapped his shoulders adding something on them.

"Well, what are you waiting for? Get back to work!" He barked again.

"Yes, sir!" I replied and went on my way.

I've already searched the whole museum but couldn't find the ring anywhere.

"That old man must still have it in person," I thought.

I decided to head out of the museum for a while and spy out from there when again, I bumped into someone else, but smaller.

"Ahh, I'm sorry,onii-san," a young boy said, none other than the Kid Killer himself, Edogawa Conan.

"It's OK, kid," I said, while my thoughts had gone, 'This is gonna be interesting.'

He was followed by an older girl who looked like Aoko, if I remember right, her name's Ran with her friend and one of my fangirls and niece of that old man, Sonoko.

"Conan-kun," Ran said, "Aren't we supposed to be on our way now?"

"Hai," the little tantei-kun answered and were on their way.

"Oh yeah, Sonoko, where again are we supposed to meet your uncle about that thief?" Ran asked.

"Over there," she said, pointing at a door and went there while opening.

It gave me a glimpse of a beautiful room with a lot of people already, behind them, a window staring rows of buildings.

Perfect spot to spy upon. I smirked and left the museum up to a certain building that gave me the bird's eye of everyone present in that said room.

I tuned in to my listening device while using my binoculars to get a better view.

I can see Nakamori-keibu along with several policemen and the old man with tantei-kun and his friends.

Accordingly, there seems to be an argument ongoing.

"I can't let your incompetent police guard my jewel this time," the old man was saying.

"What?!! What do you mean 'incompetent'? Without us, Kaitou Kid will get the jewel in absolutely no time!" Nakamori said and even from here, I could probably hear without the listening device.

"How many times have you failed to protect the treasure from Kaitou Kid, let alone capture him? No, this time... I'm relying on Kid-killer." The old man said, patting tantei-kun on the back.

The sleeping Kogoro was there with them too and asked, "How can this brat possibly could protect the treasure?!"

"Well, this Kid-killer here has managed to get back every treasure from him and even prevent him from stealing some, from what I heard," the old man said.

"With my new and improved security and the Kid-killer, he isn't going to steal this treasure. But by all means, do what you must and let's see whether you are really competent after all," the old man gave a confident laugh much to the anger of Nakamori-keibu.

"FINE!" Nakamori- keibu shouted. "Let's see who gets the last laugh!"

"Uh, Jirokichi-nii san..." Conan piped up in a childish voice, "What is the gem that Kid is after?"

"Glad you asked, Kid killer," Suzuki said, "I found this in Greece in my world travels and hopefully this gem will be put to use to catch Kid!" He said while showing the ring inside the little box that was on the table.

Through the binoculars, I could already see it's magnificence. It might contain Pandora. The ring was golden with strange engravings on it, and sitting on top of it was a magnificent jewel to behold. It isn't called Jupiter's ring for nothing. That gem is larger than anything I had ever seen, and that is saying something. It was shining very brightly even under dim lighting and everyone was looking at it in awe.

"This ring has a history in it. They said that Jupiter created this ring as a present to his love, another god but she refused. In grief, he threw the ring away, dejected and it's been lost though many try to find it, thinking it has powers beyond any mortals. Like I believe those superstitions," he waved off.

This might definitely be Pandora as I listened and finally wrote my card, inserting it in my card gun, waiting for the right moment.

"Wow," everyone whispered. Then, Conan asked, "Umm... how do you plan to stop Kid from stealing this?"

But the old man just shook his head in an arrogant smile. "Trust me Kid Killer, the less you know, the better. He might be listening in, anyway."

Smart, old man. For the first time, very smart.

Well, that's really all I have to see today.

Suzuki was putting the ring in the box when I struck. The card crashed the window and landed right in front of Suzuki.

"What the...?!" Suzuki said.

Everyone looked around for the source and finally saw me. The looks of shock on their face, never gets old.

"K-KID!" Nakamori-keibu shouted, his face swelling red while Sonoko shouted, "Kid-sama!" in a dreamy voice.

To that, I just smirked much to the inspector's anger and my fangirl's delight. Then, I saw it.

Tantei-kun was lighting up that shoe, meaning only one thing. Hell if I'm sticking around.

With a smile on my face, I dropped a smoke bomb and disappeared in a poof of smoke, using my hang glider to get outta here. I threw away the mike and good thing, otherwise I would get an earful from the inspector 'coz even after dropping it, the distinct 'Kid' scream from the inspector could be heard from it.

(End flashback)- Back to No one's POV

"Ah, memories..." Kaito sighed. Other than that notice, that's all for the Kid related news. He sniggered, thinking what tricks he was gonna put up next.

"Oh, that sneak thief accepted that old man's challenge, huh?" Aoko commented behind Kaito and he jumped... again.

"Aoko, don't scare me like that again!"

Aoko ignored that. She was just simply reading the notice and smiled.

"Hah! He's going to be captured for sure this time, I can feel it!" Aoko suddenly declared.

"Oi, oi, what's this?" Kaito said, perplexed.

"My Dad is super hyped up after yesterday and he's planning plenty of countermeasures against Kid. There is no way Dad can fail!" Aoko declared.

"Yeah, but Kid always beaten the lousy detective that is your father, huh?" Kaito snickered.

The mop came hard and fast, Kaito barely managed to dodge.

"Oi, what's that for, Bimboko?!" Kaito shouted.

"How dare you call my father lousy, Bakaito?!"

This went for a minute or two before a hand rested on Kaito's shoulder while he tried to escape from Aoko's mop.

Aoko, thankfully, stopped while Kaito turned around to see who touched him.

"Akako-chan?!" Kaito exclaimed.

"Nakamori-san, may I borrow Kuroba-kun for a while?" Akako asked, but didn't wait for a reply as she dragged him away.

Then, they were there again, on that same rooftop where she gives her so called predictions or whatever.

"What is it now, Akako-chan?" Kaito asked, leaning on the wall in a relaxed fashion.

"When the white magician meets his counterpart in a full night full of black luck, fears will be revealed and the unexpected will happen," Akako said in a mysterious voice just like when she gave that prediction for the clock tower.

Kaito kept his poker face and asked cooly, "What's that supposed to be mean? Is this some kind of joke for a predictor?"

" You know full well what I am, Kuroba-kun," Akako hissed. Then, she smirked, "Do whatever you want with what I said." She walked toward the exit.

"Wait, Akako-chan!" Kaito said, wanting to know more.

She actually stopped and turned but said, "Oh, and good luck in your next heist, Kaitou Kid." She closed the door.

"I am NOT Kaitou Kid!" Kaito shouted but he might be shouting at the door anyway.

He was left to think about Akako's prediction. Well, she is a legit sorceress, might as well take it seriously.

The white magician, himself, counterpart, Conan, 'full night of black luck', ah well, Friday the 13 was always known as a day of bad luck and the full moon will be out on his heist, so the heist day.

Summary: He and tantei-kun will meet during that heist night and fears would happen and the unexpected will happen.

But what fears and what unexpected?

The unexpected, well, is the unexpected. Guess he had to prep many stuff for that but it would make it more fun, he guess.

Fears, nothing really came to his mind, unless...

Kaito shuddered, but wave it off. No one knows, no one knows.

Well, getting back to class, he had a week to prepare for Friday the 13 as well as that old man and the police force. Good luck to that.

A week later by a strange dreamy force...

A man in white clothes appeared gracefully on a certain building, so tall it gave a bird's eye to the city. Friday the 13 has come at last, the moon was coming out but clouds covered it to reveal a dull shine around the metropolis.

Everything was set and prepared with concerns to Akako's prediction. Kid spies through each building until he reached a certain target.

'Ah, there it is.' He smirked. It was the easiest to spot. Police force was everywhere with crazy high tech security that as far as he can see involves robots, security cameras that might shoot lasers and trapdoors everywhere, all still being tested.

He knew this after an unfortunate accident there when they tried to test the security while he was incognito as a worker.

Needless to say, the old man has definitely stepped up his game to make it totally insane.

'Ah well... When the full moon comes in full blast,' Kid thought, 'you can expect me there!'

And it was a matter of waiting for the moon to come out of those stubborn clouds which still wanted to cover it.

Meanwhile, inside the building itself...

"Is everything ready?!" Inspector Nakamori shouted.

"Yes!" The officers shouted.

"This time we will catch Kid no matter what!" Inspector Nakamori shouted amid to cheers of the police officers.

A kid was among them and he looked around. The room holding Jupiter's ring was bare with other interesting works of art. The museum has already closed but there was still no sign of Kid.

Conan looked at the moon to see it being covered by clouds. Maybe he will come when the full mom arrived like it said in the card.

Conan still gritted his teeth at it. He could have caught Kid that day but alas that sneak thief has always been fast if nothing else.

He had been here all week to this old man consent and don't be fooled by the room though nothing seems amiss.

He had seen all the traps that should have belonged in a military facility or maybe the White House. It was terrifying and he almost felt sorry for Kid because of this.

He remembered one day that he heard the old man laugh at these traps, "Ah, a good bargain for these traps."

"Eh, Jirokichi-nii san, Where did you get those traps from?" He asked in that childish voice.

"Oh, Kid killer! Well, won't hurt answering. Got it from some rich guy who gave it to me in exchange for something else. Best bargain I got."

"What was it?" Conan asked.

But Suzuki waved it off. "Nothing, it's nothing. Just focus on protecting the treasure and catching Kid, OK?"

"Yes!" Conan answered that day, not wanting to probe further. Not his problem yet and if he didn't want to answer, he could really do nothing.

Now, however he felt really tense, with everyone around him except obviously Sonoko who was fantasising about Kid and her which she talked to Ran.

Any moment now...

It was midnight when the moon actually shone brightly just like his notice said. Any second now...

Poof!

He appeared above the case with that smirk that annoyed everyone to no end, while Sonoko shouts, "Kid-sama!"

He stood up and bowed to everyone.

"It's very nice to meet everyone in this beautiful night," he said all Kid style, there's no other word for it.

"KID!" Nakamori shouted and he rushed to him like all those officers as usual. Kid was still smirking and jumped at the right time where everybody piled on the case.

Only to receive an electrical shock.

"Phew, that was a close one," Kid said as all the police officers including Nakamori-keibu was shocked to unconsciousness.

"Darn it!" Suzuki said, he was holding a remote which obviously enabled that trap for Kid.

Kid looked around and instead of going to the case was going to a painting of 18 century with a haughty looking woman.

Everyone who was not shocked looked puzzled and thought, "What's he doing?"

"Nobody move!" Suzuki shouted as Kid advanced to the painting while others were making a move. He whipped up another control, summoning plenty of robots, lasers and traps.

Everyone else could only watch and pondered how on Earth did he set up this many traps and get as much robots in such a small space specially for Kid. It was like a crazy video game that Kid, in the end, managed to win with his tricks and illusions.

'Oi, oi, this is crazy,' someone thought.

He reached the painting and pressed it at several places like it was a keypad. Then the painting clicked and the room rumbled.

"What's happening?!" Kogoro asked.

The centre of the floor was caving in to a deep hole. Everyone was moving away from it while Kid was moving toward it.

A large case like an aquarium rose to the floor with only one thing.

The Jupiter Ring.

Everyone was shocked. They looked toward the ring that just appeared and the ring inside the case that shocked all these officers.

Suzuki was looking at Kid with the deepest loathing while Sonoko looked up in admiration. Conan was quietly observing Kid, wondering how did he know that, not knowing himself.

"How did you know that?!" Suzuki bellowed, asking what Conan thought.

Kid smirked, as his trademark.

"Well, Suzuki-san, you see, I knew that ring was fake from the very beginning. Look very close at the engravings. The fake one was scratched carelessly leaving scratches and looking very new. The real one is very old, totally perfect and you can see a bit of rust on some of the engravings meaning how long it has been those centuries ago before it was picked by you."

"Well, enough talking, thank you very much, Suzuki san," Kid said, heading towards the case while the officers were rousing from their unconscious state.

Nakamori saw Kid and bellowed, "KID!" while the officers were looking blankly with mildly shocked faces at the new case and looked back at the old one.

Nakamori doesn't seem to care, only wanting to catch Kid. He rushed toward him when he took out his card gun and fired behind Nakamori.

He laughed until a trapdoor suddenly opened under him and he screamed all the way down, yelling, "KID!!!!". God knows where it leads.

He holstered his card gun and walked steadily toward the case when a football missed him by inches. Knocking his hat away but he reached for it swiftly and jammed it back.

The football left a crack between paintings that Kid, no matter how many times he saw this, looked shock and wary. But poker face still on, he looked back to see Conan, grim determination set on his face.

No one looked shock at that resounding power of the kick except for one person and that was strange. They have been to my heist many times and the most that Conan appeared, he uses the football in all of them that nobody was really shocked now.

Wonder why, though... Nah, forget it.

Kid smirked and looked at Conan, eyes lighting a fair bit, he really does make it a lot fun, though those traps did their bit anyway.

"Too late, tantei-kun," Kid said and reached the case where he fiddled to open it and get his prize inside.

Another click was heard and everyone assumed he cracked it. Conan prepared his tranquillising dart as everyone was now in a shock state to give him any notice.

However, before he could fire and the case opened for Kid to grab his prize, which he held high in the air in triumph, a fish jumped up and ate the ring settling in Kid's hand flopping.

Wait, a fish?!

It took exactly five seconds for Kid to realise what was exactly in his hand and with a shout of "FISH!", he threw it away from him and back into the case with its many companions... wait, what?!

Now, fish were swimming in a case full of water that was totally not there before. Kid, for some reason or other, lost it and was shooting everywhere at it until someone cuffed him. It was pretty hilarious, didn't want it to stop.

Kid seemed to regain his composure after that unnatural display and looked back. Shock flitted in his eyes but settled with mild determination and surprise as he said, "Hakuba?!"

The London detective smirked in answer, holding the cuffs with a tight grip. Everyone was shocked except for Suzuki who laughed heartily, "Well done, Hakuba-kun, what you said was right, after all."

He smiled at Suzuki and gave a steely gaze to Kid who still smirked. Conan was thinking, 'What's he doing here?'

"What are you doing here, tantei-san?" Kid asked politely. "Weren't you supposed to be held up in some case in England?"

"Well, I was," Hakuba said, "but I left early and Suzuki requested for me privately. I gave him a suggestion and he said why not."

"And this is the suggestion," Kid said, nodding to the fish tank, where the ring might as well be inside one of its stomachs or something. "Why would you suggest that? What was the point?"

Hakuba leaned in, making sure others could not hear, much to their annoyance, and said, "You remembered that day a month ago, Kuroba-kun?".

Kid showed nothing but he remembered very well. A month ago, as Kuroba Kaito, he accidentally fell into Aoko's breasts. A step up from the panties but it was not really him to do that. The usual mop attack thing came after, with Kaito shouting it was an accident.

However, Aoko never believed him and the next day, as revenge dumped the biggest fish she could ever find on him (how she did it is a mystery. Let's say the fish was two feet long) and it caused ruckus and mayhem unknown and the class thought they saw everything.

When that fish was on his lap, he screamed very loud with the usual "FISH!" and threw it away from him with the force of an elephant shooting cards at it causing cracks on the wall.

Aoko took the fish and began swinging at him, letting Kaito go crazy dropping all hocus pocus inside the class and even beyond that has cross dress many of the students and teachers, tables and chairs on the ceiling, doves all over the school, confetti in the staff room, crazy color hair for everyone, a few skirts lifted up, obvious damage to school property, pit holes outside that was filled with stuff that the people with the misfortune to walk on said was wheat and floating cars at the school premises.

To this day, the headmaster has absolutely no idea who brought upon this mayhem and did not expel anyone because everyone was dressed differently, it was hard to tell who from who, but he knew that the cause was fish and thus banned fish from the school or risk expulsion, for good reason.

So, overall, it was a good thing that Kid was cuffed before he could inflict further damage towards the occupants and the building itself. With it's many traps, the aftermath might be worse.

After that memory lane, Suzuki laughed bringing Kid back to his senses and said, "I finally caught you, Kid! It was the right thing after all to have Hakuba-kun help me. Who knew you were afraid of fish?"

Everyone was shocked, not knowing what to say.

Conan was wondering whether it was true after all and made him laugh inside as he thought the man who made the impossible possible and showed no fear in any heists at pretty scary stuff, true that, was afraid of something like fish! Amazing!

"You caught me then," Kid said, coolly. "Congratulations, tantei-san, but the moon is still full and the treasure is not stolen yet. My work is not done yet, you know."

"Where are you going with this, Kid?" Hakuba asked, immediately wary.

"I said in my notice that I would steal the jewel and I will." Kid answered.

Suzuki laughed, "How, Kid? You are caught now and the treasure is safely in one of those fishes so you have absolutely no idea where it is and most importantly locked in the case that no human force could open!" He said victoriously.

"'Human force?'" Kid asked, smirking. "What if I use a non-human force, then?"

Suzuki eyebrows raised, Hakuba was looking at Kid warily and Conan was looking around to see what Kid could have meant.

He then saw it, below the crack the football made, he realized Kid's trick and readied his tranquilizer. He should have done this long ago but Kid smirked at him. He knew he caught on.

"Too late again, tantei-kun," Kid said and with his free hand pulled something. The effect was instantaneous that Conan could not warn them. While Hakuba was distracted, he replaced himself with the dummy and use the grappling hook to get to the ceiling.

In good time too. You see, that case was connected to a cable that filled water for the aquarium until it was full with a little machine above to alert it. When, Kid saw that case and what people thought as random shooting, was actually to disable the machine so that water could continually flow through the cable.

He also shoot the cable itself so that it stuck itself below that crack, blocking the flow of water. Those cards were attached to a string.

So, he just talked to Hakuba and Suzuki so that the water was near bursting point and what happens when you release it all together?

Well, the water went all together with the case and shattered it to pieces while fish were swimming along with water on the surface.

Kid still felt awkward with fish but the stupid things were opening its mouths wide so, in the moonlight, he could probably see the shining jewel of the ring somewhere while everyone was trying to surge through the water.

There! A shimmering fish was spotted in the corner of his eye and no matter how he felt, thanks to his ego, he swooped for it but another hand had took that fish and put under. This was a surprising set of circumstances but made it harder and challenging. The night was still young, let's have fun.

So, he dropped down into the water and found himself submerged while swiftly disguising himself and doing something to a certain someone.

Minutes later, someone mercifully opened the window and all the water went out, splashing innocent passerbys who looked up, soaked to see if it was raining instead to see a window opened and something of a waterfall falling down. The thought, 'What the hell's going on?' was swirling in their heads.

Soon, all the water was gone , leaving only a harmless stream of water from the cable behind. Everyone coughed and looked around their surroundings, apparently Kid had escaped, with the gem they did not know.

Everyone was staring at Hakuba however and some clutched their stomachs while others couldn't help burst out laughing. Perplexed, Hakuba tried to find out what's so funny.

He looked down and saw yellow and black stripes instead of his usual clothes. Then, amid the broken case, there was a shard of glass where he could see himself and found out he was dressed in a bumblebee, the cutesy one.

He turned red with embarrassment. Amid all the yellow and black, there was white sticking out and looking down again, Hakuba noticed it was from a Kid notice.

He took it out and read:

This is for buzzing around me and pollinating my secret to Advisor Suzuki. You really do remind me of a bumblebee. Cute but annoying. Anyway, enjoy, tantei-san. You look great in this anyway.

Kaitou Kid

With the Kid doodle and everything.

Hakuba went red with rage with those play of words and his usual glamour in it and tore the notice into little pieces while everyone else laughed at him except for Conan.

As this is his usual style of things, he remembered a time when he saw Nakamori-keibu wore a fox costume with makeup applied. It was so wrong but so funny.

He had to wonder among those flopping fish whether the jewel was already stolen. He could say yes, so Kid did manage to steal it.

Or did he?

Wouldn't he left the notice to Suzuki if he did. Conan looked around. There was no sign of another notice.

If the ring is missing, could it have...

He ran to the window while everyone tried to simmer their laughter and saw no fish flopping down on him so all of those fish with no jewel as far as he can tell are accounted for.

So that means someone else might have stole it... but who?

He remembered his conversation with Suzuki about those traps. About a bargain.

Why would another rich man give so many traps for something else?

Maybe someone else...

Conan looked swiftly at everyone and his eyes landed on two people.

Suzuki bellowed while Hakuba was trying to find his clothes.

"Well, look at this, you incompetent police! You let Kid get away with the ring!"

All the policemen flinched. Without Nakamori, they can't really do anything to contradict that sentence.

During all this, Conan tranquillised Kogoro and scurry to a hidden corner where he once again used his voice changing bow.

Everyone was already looking at him strangely when he spoke.

"I don't believe Kid has left this room let alone the building yet. He is still among us." Conan spoke using Kogoro's voice.

"How could you possibly know that?!"

The window was the only thing open to let the water out. The door was never opened from that fishy event until now. You see, if the door was opened, there would have been wet scratch marks on the floor and the door wouldn't be this wet and the floor near the door would have more puddles."

Suzuki digested this and finally rounded on the police.

"Alright! Search everyone, the one with the ring is Kaitou Kid!"

"Not so fast, Suzuki-san." Kogoro said, "If the ring had indeed been stolen, then why is there no card by Kid saying he did? He would certainly boast about it through a card if not in person."

Suzuki thought about it. That was true and he then asked, "Then, where's the ring?"

"I believe someone else have stolen it. Someone you didn't tell us that would steal the ring against Kid..." Suzuki did not deny it and turned a bit red, "And he or she is probably in disguise. They are..." Kogoro said.

"Suzuki Sonoko!" Kogoro said.

Everyone gasped and turned to look at her, even Hakuba whose still trying to find his clothes.

Sonoko looked shock but she laughed.

"What are you talking about? I certainly didn't steal the ring, it belongs to my uncle!" Sonoko said.

"Yes, but you are not really Sonoko, are you?" Kogoro said, "I have noticed that you weren't very avid about Kid as you used to be and you were shocked that Conan used his football on Kid when you attended many of Kid's heists and seen it's power already."

"You still have no proof," Sonoko laughed but not as confident. Everyone was staring at her suspiciously.

"Then, you don't mind if the police checked on you?" Kogoro asked.

The police advanced on Sonoko and she smirked, not unlike Kid.

"Hee hee! Well done, old man, but I'm afraid I'm going to get away with the ring now." The imposter Sonoko said while holding out the ring with a smug smile.

Suzuki seemed in rage. "KID!"

The imposter looked insulted. "I am not that Kid, I am..." and her body was expanding like a balloon and popped to reveal a handsome young man with a checkered hat over his silver hair, a suit with a red gaudy jacket, a purple cape and a mischievous smile on his face.

"... Kaitou Joker!"

Everyone was surprised to see this imposter revealing himself with style. He had a cocky air with him as he held the ring with a big smile like everything was so fun.

Suzuki just smiled with determination behind it.

"You have finally shown yourself," Suzuki said and he activated his security again, this time solid metal shutting all the windows and the doors as well. There was no escape.

"That rich man gave me this security especially for you so I can catch you and bring you to him!" Suzuki said and robots were appearing but they seemed modified, as long as with many of the other traps.

"Haha, thank that rich man for me, then! He certainly has good taste!" Joker said, as robots and policemen were after him.

He dodged them skilfully, his smile still on, the fun still there. He made it next to the door, back on the wall.

"There's no escape now, Joker, and after you, I'll catch Kid as well. This would make to the front headlines with me in it! Hahahaha!" Suzuki laughed.

Joker still smiled, "And what if I escape right here, right now."

"How?" Suzuki asked, "You have nowhere to run."

"Think again, old man!" Joker said, the wall behind him was swelling and popped... there was a huge hole behind it!

"What... how... when?" Suzuki asked since he also activated steel enforced walls with the appearance of Joker.

Conan looked at the hole, then at the floor and saw that the door next to it had no puddle and the hole was mostly made when the whole place was flooded. Who could have heard the explosion underwater when everyone was trying to breathe.

"Well, take care, everyone!" Joker said.

Suddenly, smoke bombs appeared and suddenly one by one, everyone was suddenly asleep, and Joker, with fast reaction set himself with a gas mask via Image Gum.

He then swiftly ran out, put out his watch and communicated to Hachi, "Prepare the Sky Joker at the roof in... 10 minutes!"

"Hai!" Hachi answered back.

Throughout, Joker did not meet any resistance until he was two floors up and looking at the ring with a smile on his face did a card came out of nowhere and shot it out of his hands.

It landed swiftly to the floor and was picked up by a man in white.

"You sure made things troublesome," the man said.

'Dressed like my master,' Joker thought as that man stood with the ring and poker face.

"Ah, Kid, isn't it? That bumblebee thing was hilarious anyway." Joker said as he took out a card and prepared his stance.

"Poker, is it?" Kid asked, readying his card gun.

Joker fell, shocked and then shouted, "It's Joker!"

"Oh, Joker... what name is that? Then, where's the balls, squirting flowers and fabulous jokes?"

"I am not a clown, I am a phantom thief!" Joker shouted, "And a phantom thief," he continued, charging at Kid while Kid smirked and loaded the gun, "always gets his treasure!" He charged at Kid but dodged and fired at him which was blocked by Joker.

"Not bad," Kid said.

"Is that all you got?" Joker replied.

It went on until they reached to another room with an exhibit of cat paintings.

Kid was pushing Joker to that room at that point of battle, blocking the continuous shooting cards but one look at that room and Joker screamed, "Cats!" And immediately ran out of it, tackling Kid along the way into another room which instead exhibits items from a French period.

They stared at each other for a moment, Kid still having the treasure.

"You are afraid of cats?" Kid asked. He found that impossible for cats are so cute and cuddly.

"You are afraid of fish," Joker said defensively, who wondered how someone could for they were harmless and delicious.

They still stared at each other, jerking here and there. There was some understanding between them, weird fears that other people don't get.

Then, to break the moment, a soccer ball came flying between them, missing both by inches, hit the window instead and still kept moving making a dent in the building opposite.

Kid and Joker stared at a ball, actually making a crack at the building and found Conan standing there, his boots still sparking and himself smirking.

Two seconds of silence and Joker clasped his hands on Conan's shoulder, who in that moment was shocked, staring at Joker's serious face.

"Little kid," Joker started, Conan disregarded it, "that was..."

Kid held his breath. Joker must be shocked, even scared to death, everyone else would be too after being in the receiving end of these and missing death in inches.

"... awesome!" Joker shouted, his eyes bright.

Doi! (SFX for shock anime pose, don't know how to describe) Kid was reeling in and then shouted, "How could that be awesome?!"

But both Joker and Conan ignored this as Joker was asking where he could get one of these gadgets and Conan was still reeling in.

Then, Kid realised this was the perfect opportunity to check and escape.

The ring was in one of his many pockets and he put it up to the moonlight from that smashed window.

'Oi, oi, this is not real, is it?' Kid thought, because a red light was glowing from the pure white gem and a closer look inside could tell there was a red gem shining inside.

As Joker was still barraging questions to Conan long after he reeled in And was readying his tranquilliser did they realise that Kid was there with his mischievous smile and the ring at hand.

Before Conan or Joker could do anything, Kid flashed a smoke bomb.

Everything was fuzzy and when the smoke bomb cleared, Kid was gone and so was Joker. Conan groaned in frustration.

At the building next to the one where that football smashed, Kid landed gracefully and closed his hang glider.

He looked at the gem in bright interest. The question is: How could you destroy the gem within?

Well, still thinking, Kid had a pretty weird experience. Akako's prediction has so far come true.

The fear was obviously fish, damn Haku-baka!

The unexpected so far was that new phantom thief, Joker, not a big deal and now, Pandora, a very big deal...

But Kid couldn't help wonder, what's going to happen next?

A click was heard and a voice said, "Hand over the ring."

Of course... Kid turned around.

Snake and his goons were there as usual... with someone else.

A tall man with curly pale green hair with a purple streak in his bangs, pale yellow eyes behind gold glasses with purple lenses, surrounded by the robots that was in Suzuki's security system.

Kid decided to address Snake, "Good evening," he used his gentleman voice, "but I don't know what you are talking about."

"Don't play dumb, Kid," Snake said, waving his gun around.

"Yes, give the ring or suffer the consequences!" the stranger said, with his robots advancing on Kid. Kid merely smirked.

"Yeah, right! Anyway, why are you guys ganging up on me?" Kid asked. The surprises kept coming and he half wondered whether this may be because of a certain thief.

"You wouldn't understand. I, Dr. Neo, will get that ring and finally get that damn alien and NOTHING will get in my way this time!" he did that with such vigor that his hair slipped, giving a glimpse to his baldness.

Noticing this, he immediately put his hair back and coughed. Everyone was staring at him with shocked faces while two of Snake's goons were whispering.

"A wig?"

"It's a wig."

"A wig, right?"

"Total wig."

Then, Snake shouted, "Alright, Dr. Neo, charged those robots to Kid and help us kill him and we may hold up our end of the bargain!"

Dr. Neo smirked and did so. Kid, too smirked and just dodged those idiotic robots.

"Haha! Is that all you got?!" Kid shouted, also now dodging the bullets, poker face and all, shooting cards back at them, a bit exhilarated by this.

He needed to escape, though, find a quiet place to get rid of Pandora.

Finally avenge his father.

Smoke bombs always come in handy.

"Bye!" Kid said, dropping a smoke bomb, but Dr. Neo's robots intercepted it with huge fans blowing the smoke away, Kid shocked.

"Haha!" Dr. Neo laughed, "Is that all you got?! I've prepared every defense for you phantom thieves! You cannot escape us. Now, accept your fate!" Robots was closing in with electrical swords. Kid dodged them all but two broke ranks and were off to the kill.

As it looks like the end for Kid, a soccer ball and shining card came out of nowhere, destroying those robots.

Behind Kid were...

The little tantei-kun and that other kaitou, Joker!

"Joker!" Dr. Neo howled in rage, Kid was right, Dr. Neo was definitely from Joker. He could just feel it now.

"Oh, if it isn't Dr. Wiggy," Joker said casually, a laugh in his voice, "I'm sorry but you are not going to get the treasure from him, I am!"

"Get them!" Dr. Neo roared, robots advancing on both kaitous.

"I'll help you for now," whispered Joker, "but when this is over, I am so getting that ring!"

"Thanks," Kid replied, "and in your dreams!"

Snake seemed infuriated with these distractions and wasted no time shooting bullets into them.

"You brats!" Snake shouted, "I'll kill you all!"

Joker laughed. "Do you think that is easy?"

Snake's lips curled, "There is no escape."

"There may not be..." Joker said, "but who said we cannot defeat you."

Dr. Neo laughed, "You've got to be joking! Just how do you think you could defeat all of us outnumbered?"

The robots drew their electric swords and the men held out their guns.

Joker looked at all of them and now smiling, he pulled out a set of cards and said, "Straight Flash!"

The bright light blinded everyone while Joker made that move.

Once it subsided, Snake and Dr. Neo laughed.

"What was that for? Attack!" Dr. Neo roared.

As soon as the robots tried to charge or the men readied their guns, suddenly, by some unbidden force, the robots were pulled to shock the men and the men shot the robots, eliminating each other. Whilst, Dr. Neo And Snake were pulled together and seemed to be struggling against something, but a flying robot  that was not yet eliminated flew to them, hit them and they went limp while the robot destroyed.

Kid looked amazed, he looked at Joker, who had his hand outstretched and grinning. He looked around but he couldn't see how this was possible.

"How... how did you do that?!" Kid asked.

"Isn't it obvious? I am using the Force," indicating his outstretched hand, and to Kid's shocked face, "because I am secretly," Joker started whispering. Kid leaned closer.

"...Luke Skywalker!" Joker exclaimed.

Kid looked shocked and seeing the face, Joker burst out laughing, holding his rib cage.

"I was joking!" Joker said once he calmed down, "I'm not actually Luke Skywalker! Did you actually believe that?!"

"Then... then," Kid was a bit lost at words after these series of events and simply gestures to the unconscious and tied up men along with the broken robots.

"Well..."

Pause

"Hello, it's me, the legendary phantom thief , Silver Heart," A man in a white suit and monocle appeared, not unlike Kid except he looked super old.

"I am not super old!" Silver said.

Wait, how could he hear me?!

"We are outside the forth wall, if we are back in the story, we would have been breaking the fourth wall, but this is some type of preview, so all laws are broken," Silver explained.

Ok, ok, so can you please explain the trick Joker pulled off?

"Of course," Silver said, "You see, Joker actually used a string from his watch and hung it in places. When he pulled, the string moved those robots to the men while it triggered the guns and finally tying them up."

But how could he even make that possible?

"Joker has a very great memory," Silver explained some more, "he saw the position of all these men and calculated the trajectory for the string, making this miracle possible."

Wow, amazing!

"Indeed, amazing! That's my apprentice for you!" Silver said.

While we are in this preview, and all laws are broken, I wonder if I can... (up to your own imagination).

Silver blushed, "Absolutely not!"

Resume

Joker explained the whole thing to Kid while he nodded and praised him.

"Wow, amazing!"

The phrase stirred something familiar to them and they suddenly blushed. Why, though?

Then, Kid felt an ominous aura behind him, but it was too late. A hand groped into his vest and out came the ring.

Behind him was a small ninja boy who was grinning like mad, whose grin was returned by Joker opposite them in similar fashion.

Kid looked to one another, poker face in hand but nevertheless spluttered, "How... what?"

Both of them were inflating and pop, behind him now was Joker, with the ring laughing and opposite Kid, the small ninja boy with a cat on top of his head.

"Sky Joker!" Joker shouted to his watch and out came was a large airship with the name Joker stamped on it.

A ladder was coming down, both the kaitou and ninja running towards it. Joker looked back at Kid who was readying his card gun and smiling, said, "Thanks for the ring. Take care!"

"Not so fast!" Kid shouted shooting cards which was dodged by Joker but slowed him down anyway as Kid charged and shot at him. He was not giving up Pandora so easily.

They were nearing each other, Joker still holding the ring in hand when a football shot out of nowhere.

They barely dodged but the ring got hit by the football, and was suspended in air, falling somewhere. It was unscathed, much to everyone's surprise (and Kid's disappointment) because those footballs are helluva strong.

The ring fell into tantei-kun's hand when he looked at all of them and said, "This was fun and all but I'm going to return this now."

They all have forgotten about Conan who was smirking at all of them, the ring aloft in his hand while prepping the tranquilliser on his watch, in case of any resistance.

The series of events have greatly shocked Conan, leaving him to simply watch everything that happened, but he snapped out of it and just in time, to stop them all from getting the treasure.

Kid kept his poker face while Joker and that ninja just stared at him, mouths a bit open. In most cases, he would let the little tantei-kun get away with the treasure, saying it was not what he wanted.

In most cases...

"I'm afraid I can't let you do that, tantei-kun," Kid said, poker face in hand with an additional smirk, "I've finally found what I was looking for," he pointed at the ring, "and unfortunately you cannot return it."

Conan stood there, with his tranquilliser, and thought, 'So he finally had what he wanted, but it's a crime to steal and the thief's wanted anyway. Winners keepers!'

"Really?" Conan used his childish voice, "Then, come get it!"

He started to run, probably to an exit, when suddenly a flaming arrow shot out from the sky and knocked the ring off his hand.

Now, falling through the sky again, the two kaitous and the tantei-kun fight to catch the ring before anybody else. It was falling towards the ninja boy and the cat. He was trying to aim for the ring, while the cat opened its mouth wide.

Joker looked scared at something and said, "Hachi! Don't let that pseudo-" Too late.

The ninja, Hachi was unable to prevent the cat from eating the treasure, which he was thoroughly enjoying.

Doi! Conan and Kid did their own anime shock poses and said, in unison, "That cat ate the treasure." They were both worried for the cat, what if it choke?

Hachi was scolding the cat, by looking at it and saying, "Hosshi!"

Joker just ran to that cat, Hosshi, and started shaking and stretching the cat like it was made of rubber and said, "Spit it out, you pseudo-cat! Spit!"

Although both Kid and Conan were slightly surprised at this loss of the treasure and may be a bit sad about it (Well, not Kid, he's kinda relieved), they thought that Joker was a bit harsh to Hosshi.

"What did he do to you, anyway?" Conan asked to Joker, who was still, in his eyes, showing animal cruelty to the cat and couldn't stand it.

"That pseudo-cat keeps eating my treasures, that's what!" Joker complained, still trying to make the cat spit it out.

Conan thought, 'Why would a cat eat treasures?' Makes no sense to him. Kid looked nonchalant with all this, though. Poker face in hand, just watching the scene.

'Why isn't Kid angry about this? The destruction of the treasure that he so desired?' Conan thought, looking at Kid. Kid is indeed strange.

The next question in hand, ask Conan, was: who shot that flaming arrow?

The answer came quickly when a voice overhead spoke, "Joker, why do you keep doing this to Acrux?"

A bird-man was flying down with big wings to them, a flaming bow disappearing from sight as he approached. Kid and Conan readied their weapons at him. They were suspicious of him. Was he another kaitou as well, knowing Joker and how could he fly or made that bow disappear?

"Phoenix!" Hachi said, while Joker shouted, "Yawning jerk!"

Ignoring Kid and Conan, the bird man, Phoenix spoke to Joker, "I see you have found a clue to the Ancient Treasure, then. Good job, Acrux," he added to Hosshi who was happily eating the treasure and swallowed it.

"I can't stand this," Joker sighed, referring to the pseudo-cat always eating his treasures. Just seriously...

"Who are you?!" shouted Conan. The surprises just keep coming.

"I am Phoenix, messenger of the Southern Cross!" he declared, where the southern cross shone brightly above them. "Who are you?" He ask in turn.

Before Conan could reply, Hosshi suddenly sweated and Kid and Conan rounded on it.

"What's wrong with it? Did it choke on the treasure?" Conan asked, concerned for the poor creature.

Then...

Doi! Kid and Conan both did their shocked anime poses and then said, "That... that cat laid ... eggs."

"Wah, two eggs?!" Joker, Phoenix and Hachi said.

For indeed, Hosshi suddenly laid two eggs, landing on Hachi's head happy with itself. One was it usual colour of white with a green star, another black with a red star.

"Wah, a different coloured egg!" Hachi exclaimed.

Kid and Conan were still staring at the eggs, this was completely out of their realm. How could that cat laid eggs?

Although Kid was mostly happy that Pandora was gone, he guessed, it was still in quite a weird way that completely threw him off.

Akako's prediction had really gone too far, the 'unexpected' part. He looked at both Phoenix and Hosshi, wondering at their strangeness or abilities out of the normal.

Then, he remembered Dr. Neo declaration and a sudden thought came upon him.

"You are an alien," Kid said, shocked and wondering whether any of this is true.

Conan looked at him. That was plainly impossible. How could he be an alien? No such thing!

"Bingo!" Phoenix said, clapping. "You figured that faster than Joker here. I'm impressed."

Conan's jaw dropped, Kid remained impassive with his usual poker face. Conan didn't believe this was possible, his ears must be lying to him.

But he had no time to further contemplate. The eggs were starting to hatch, and everyone was looking at them avidly (except Conan and Kid, who were staring at it furtively).

In one egg, the normal one, a piece of paper came out of it which Phoenix snatched immediately while the other, the black one, hatched out a blood red jewel that shone red in the moonlight.

Kid immediately panicked and took it before anybody else could and stowed in one of his many pockets.

They were all staring at him strangely while Kid cursed himself. He thought Pandora would be gone for good, why did the egg have to lay it back? Then, a thought appeared, 'That was the strangest sentence ever.' Indeed it was.

Trying to cover this, he addressed to Phoenix, "So what is that?"

Phoenix was looking through the letter and then stared strangely at Kid, more to at his vest and said, "A letter from one of my friends while I was travelling around before I got here."

"Nothing related to the Ancient Treasure," Phoenix amended to Joker, who looked puzzled.

"What does it say, Phoenix-san?" Hachi asked.

He looked around and decided to read aloud:

Dear Phoenix,
It must be a thousand or so years that you may come across this letter, but I want to give you my thanks for helping me make that ring to Jupiter.

As you know, I was in love with Jupiter and always wanted to give him something as a present, but I was always a bit shy when other women also beseeched him.

But then you came, and told me to do what I like and even help me form that ring after I helped you out of a sticky situation. The ring was decorated thanks to what you gave and a bit of my power, I sought out for Jupiter after you left.

In the end, he rejected me. I was devastated for a while, but when I looked at the ring, I remembered what you said and decided to live on my life.

I also hope to return what you gave me as I no longer require it and thank you again for your help.

Phoenix stopped reading the letter and he looked at Kid and asked, "May I see that jewel?"

Kid was a bit defensive, he might be one of them and steal the stone away from him. He couldn't avenge his father's death then. "What for?" he asked, but before Phoenix answered, Joker was behind Kid and stole the jewel to let Phoenix take it.

Joker was curious about the jewel as Phoenix examined it, leaving Kid resentful and pointing his card gun at Phoenix for any sign of escaping.

Undeterred, Phoenix kept on inspecting it and murmured, "Yes, yes."

"What is it?" asked Conan, who also couldn't help feeling curious and wondering what was the fuss about with that jewel and that strange letter.

Phoenix turned around to Conan, "The question: What is this jewel? One: A fake, Two: Teleportation device to another dimension, Three: Key to immortality.

"Don't answer a question like that, yawning jerk?!" Joker said.

"All those answers: no such thing!" Conan said. Suzuki had already checked out the jewel, and looking at it, there's no way it's a fake. The other two answers are just nonsense!

"Hmm... One!" Hachi answered.

Kid said nothing but steadily aimed the gun at Phoenix. He wanted to know where this is going.

"The correct answer: 3!" Phoenix declared.

"What?!" everyone said except Kid.

"Yes, and apparently, you know too," Phoenix nodded at Kid, "you see, in my travels, I met across a woman called Pandora, or I called Pandy," Kid and Conan gave a start, "she loved this man, Jupiter and in the letter, she helped me out in a sticky situation, so I gave her a drop of my blood which she used her powers to make it an alluring jewel and hope to seduce Jupiter. Apparently, she failed and the ring somehow came to Earth," Phoenix mused.

"Wait," Conan said, reeling a bit, "are you saying that you met Jupiter and Pandora, gods in myths?"

"Yes," Phoenix said, "Not Jupiter, just Pandora, and you say gods, I say people from another planet."

Conan decided to wrap everything in his head. So, gods and myths and whatever fantastical stuff came from outer space. Considering everything that just happened, this might just be real and that legend that Suzuki told was apparently wrong. Well, not the first time history was wrong.

Kid looked nonchalant. "So what are you going to do with that jewel?"

Phoenix just stared at it. "Dunno. Just keep it for now, I guess." He shrugged.

Kid contemplated everything. That jewel was the reason for his father's murder, created by this guy and a God. Seriously, his life couldn't be stranger. He found the jewel, but now all this complicated stuff.

He looked at the jewel. It seemed to be glowing brighter and brighter. Then, he could feel the same force that made that week go by in a snap and everything went dark.

...

...

...

"KAITO!" A voice came out of nowhere. Light was coming back, he saw the blurry shape of his childhood friend, Aoko.

"Wake up! It's time for breakfast and you are going to be late for school!" Aoko said in a nagging mother voice.

"Alright, alright, Bimboko, I'm awake!" Kaito shouted.

"Alright, get going Bakaito!" Aoko huffed and turned around.

Kaito looked around. So, it was all a dream, huh? He never found Pandora. All that never happened, but still... it was a fun dream and from it, he started getting ideas for his new pranks.

Nevertheless, the dream felt real, with the little tantei-kun, another phantom thief and an... alien. Weird...

Well, another day, to find more jewels and check out more jewels no matter what obstacles or how bizarre, like that dream
