Chapter 7
Frisk's POV
It had taken a little while to bring myself to jump. I suppose the part of my body that was afraid and didn't want to jump had gotten the better of me. My mind had conjured up over a million reasons to stay away from the giant hole. Reasons like My brother, The beauty, the stars, The risk of going insane all by myself.
It had taken a little over an hour -or at least that's what it felt like- To get myself to push back the fear. I stood and took a deep breath of fresh air before stepping off into the hole. I didn't scream, I couldn't. There was an air bubble stuck in my throat as I fell. I wasn't scared to know if I'd live or die. If I lived? I would have the entire underground to myself...... If I died? Well..... The dead was always better off than the living...
It felt... weird.... Falling, I mean... It wasn't like flying or floating. More like... gliding at a very fast pace.... Toward a hard and unforgiving ground... As I neared the end that bubble that was stuck in my throat must've popped because I started to scream. It started quiet but then began getting loud.
Within a matter of seconds, I was silenced by the cold, hard ground. I recall hearing a very loud and obnoxious.... "OW!!!" before passing out. I knew that yelp from anywhere.... That was Flowey. What he was doing down here was beyond me. Perhaps when the monsters were freed he was forced to stay behind? I would have to talk to him... I prayed that he'd even be there when I woke up and recalling the first time I fell, I knew he would be.
. . . . . . .
When I woke, I could already feel a chill down my spine. Sadly though, the golden flowers couldn't keep me from harm. The phrase "The bigger they are, the harder they fall" comes to mind... I could feel a twinge of pain in my left leg. The second I'd moved I'd regretted it, feeling the pain tense and enflame -which was expected- but I had to see if flowey was there.
When the war broke out, Flowey and Asriel had found a way to separate themselves from one another, and live separate lives, and from what I was looking at, Flowey had gotten the short end of the stick. I sat up, letting out a whimper but stopped, just happy to see things finally going my way.
At my whimper, the flower turned, a large grin on his face. 'So he doesn't recognize me.... I was right about that part....' I thought to myself. Flowey only gave that smile to people who were new. The grin that was supposed to be cheerful and friendly but if you'd looked close enough, it would twitch with a lust for blood and revenge.
I sighed, shaking the chills away and remembering that this flower only had a tolerance for me. If I could get him on my side I could have some help. His vines could reach places where I couldn't which would come in handy for fixing roofs and such. Before the flower could speak his signature words, I spoke up.
My voice sounded rough and dry, probably from my travel up, and down into the mountain but that was something I could take care of after Flowey knew how I knew him. He looked confused when I smiled so brightly at him, and I suppose he had every right.... Normally newcomers were freaked out by a talking flower.
"Hello Flowey"
"..... Who are you...? And how do you know my name.... Have you been here before?" He asked, practically hissing with caution.
"Oh you should know the answer to that...... Yes I've been down here before and magic" On the last word, I gave jazz hands, simply for a friendly effect.
He looked even more confused than before. Did I really look that different? Was it really that hard to figure out...? Making the face was a last result.... I knew he'd know immediately after that. If anything I wanted to tease him a little first.
I'm sure he probably missed me. I was the only friend he had. The only person who even tried to care. I felt bad for leaving him but... he said he didn't want to be some potted house plant, sitting in the window. And I couldn't blame him. But for the record, I would've been the coolest plant keeper ever.
"..... Do you think you're cool or something? We have enough of those down here.... I should just kill you where you stand...."
He threatened.
"There's others???? Damnit...." I said aloud, talking to myself.
"That's it..." Without warning, the flowers vines shot at me and I grabbed them. He knew I was the only person who could do such a thing. His eyes widened with excitement.
"Ah- That wouldn't be a wise idea small fry" I chuckled.
"FRISK?!?!?!?!?!"
