Professor Albus Dumbledore entered his General Arts classroom on Monday morning to an unusual quiet. He took it for being a Monday morning, and strolled up to the front of his classroom, glancing around at his students.

They were chattering away quietly, some sipping on coffee. It wasn't until the time for class to start that Dumbledore noticed why perhaps his classroom was so quiet.

He hummed in amusement. "Have any of you happened to spot our noisy Marauders this fine morning?" I asked. His students seemed to realize their absence as well, looking around for their friends.

Dumbledore's first impression was amusement. Perhaps the friends had slept in. His second impression was concern.

"Ms. Alice Prewett, would you please give a call to Ms. Lily Evans and see if you can figure out where the lot of them are at this time? It seems that they are late for class."

"Sure, Professor."

Alice took out her phone and dialed Lily's number, only to have it ring. She frowned and tried again, but got the same result the second time.

Frank Longbottom, who was sitting beside Alice, pulled out his own phone and suggested calling James Potter or Sirius Black, for he had both of their numbers on his phone.

Both calls were unsuccessful and the majority of the class that was paying attention to the interaction were now concerned as well.

Dumbledore stood up from his desk chair, rubbing his beard thoughtfully. "Has someone thought to call Remus Lupin?" He asked.

Marlene McKinnon volunteered, and again they were met by silence. Even Severus Snape, who normally couldn't stand the four boys, seemed intrigued.

"I shall call his guardian at this time as his absence is cause for concern, along with the four of his friends."

Dumbledore stepped out of his classroom and pulled his pet owl out of his pocket, wrote a quick note, and informed his owl that she should hurry off to Mrs. Evans and return quickly with a response. (Jk)

Dumbledore stepped out of his classroom and pulled his cell phone out of his pocket. He searched through his list of contacts, finding Mrs. Evans high on the list, for he was always prepared for emergencies, as he cared for his students, especially Remus Lupin and those associated with the 'Marauders', quite a lot.

Mrs. Evans, unlike all four young adults, managed to answer her phone rather promptly.

"Headmaster Dumbledore! Hello," Mrs. Evans said.

"Hello indeed. You may call me Albus, dear. Well you see, Mrs. Evans, your daughter, son, and their three friends have neglected coming to class and I called to inquire that everything is alright with them as they have proven unable to answer their phones at this time."

Mrs. Evans sighed. To Dumbledore, she seemed a good deal wrung out and exhausted. "Well Albus, it seems that we're not alright over here. I'm sorry, but the five of them will not be attending classes today."

"Is that so?" Dumbledore inquired, quite curious indeed.

"Yes. It seems that Remus's cold developed into pneumonia. He received an emergency lung transplant surgery all day yesterday and is still recovering. I'm afraid he hasn't woken up yet and will be absent from classes for the rest of the term."

Dumbledore was shocked at the news. He felt terribly for Remus and his loved ones. He was glad of course, that Remus was doing better now, but what a terrible thing! Dumbledore felt now as if he were being terribly insensitive towards Mrs. Evans and felt poorly.

"I'm very sorry to hear that, Mrs. Evans. I'm so very glad to hear that Remus received a new pair of lungs and that he is recovering. Not to worry about classes, I assure you that I will personally work out the details of his grades and how we will proceed with the year and his studies. Allow him to take as much time as he needs to recover and let him know that he will be in our thoughts and our hearts."

"Thank you, Albus. I'll tell him. Good day."

"Good day, Mrs. Evans."

And with that, he hung up the phone and reentered his classroom. A hush followed as he made his way to his desk.

"What are the five of them up to, sir? Forget they have classes, have they?" Asked a very amused Evan Rosier, who hated the lot of them.

"It seems, Mr. Rosier, that Remus Lupin has undergone a medical emergency and will not be returning to school this term," the Headmaster and Professor announced, which caused a good many gasps and exclamations of concern.

"What's happened?" Asked Dorcas Meadowes in a panic.

"Is he alright?" Fretted both Alice Prewett and Marlene McKinnon at the same time.

Dumbledore held up his hands for silence. "It has yet to be seen if Mr. Lupin will be alright, but predictions have been made that the young lad will recover swimmingly. After a rough bout of illness, Mr. Lupin received a new set of lungs yesterday and is thus far recovering nicely. Now, today's original lesson aside, why don't we put our creative talent together and create something of hope and kindness for our dear friend so that he is aware(wolf) that we all wish him well in his recovery?"

The students all nodded and uttered their agreement and set forth to create a 'get well card' of sorts.

Unbeknownst to the General Arts class, miles and miles away, in the waiting room of a hospital in Oxford, sat four of the five 'Marauders'. Sirius Black sat, asleep, with his head on James Potter's shoulder. James had Lily Evans in his arms and Peter Pettigrew was leaning on Sirius.

As Mr. and Mrs. Potter were on their way to leave for home for the night, they snapped a picture of the four cuddled up on the uncomfortable chairs. The four of them slept through the night like that, comforting each other perhaps through dreams.

Though they woke up with kinks in their necks and stiff backs, the one thing on all of their minds was that their best friend Remus Lupin might wake up that day. None knew quite what to expect, but they were just content with the fact that he was alive and that he would be okay, at least for a little while longer.

For Remus Lupin meant quite a lot to each one of them. Especially Sirius, who was desperate to get all the love he could from Remus. They had just met several months prior and it didn't seem fair in the slightest for their love story to be cut so short. He was determined to cherish the time he had with Remus and fill every single day with love.

After all, who's Padfoot without his Moony?

What's a star without his wolf?
