Chapter Thirty (End)

"Our session for today is finished now, your highness," Marinette's therapist spoke as she packed up. "I will see you again on Thursday. I hope your stomach bug will go away soon."

Marinette gave the nice woman a smile before she allowed herself to be led into the castle by a guard.

When she was alone in her room, she curled up on the bed and let out a sigh. It was almost two months since she started therapy and she's happy to say that there has been a lot of progress.

There was one thing missing though.

That thing was Adrien. He was allowed to write letters and she received a letter from him each week, but she didn't receive a letter from him last week and this week was almost finished and she had yet to receive a letter.

She was worried sick. Had something happened to him over there? Did they stop him from sending letters? Did he...

A knock on the door pulled her out of her thoughts. When Alya pushed her head inside the room, Marinette's eyes lit up a bit.

"Why are you looking so down in the dumps?" Alya pouted, closing the door behind her and stepping into the room.

"It's nothing, Alya," Marinette answered, forcing a smile.

"Since it's nothing, I'll just leave with this," The duchess said, pulling out a familiar looking gold envelope from behind her back. Marinette's eyes widened anxiously. "You have no need for this then. I'll just dispose of it." Alya waved her off and turned to leave.

"Wait!" Marinette shouted and Alya halted with a secret smirk.

"Yes, your highness?"

"You do not need to dispose of the letter. I have been awaiting it," Marinette said, running her fingers through her hair. She had been letting it down more often these days.

"Really?" Alya asked and Marinette nodded eagerly. When she saw the pain in her best friend eyes, all playfulness left her and she quickly handed the blunette the letter.

Marinette gave her a smile and slowly opened the envelope.

Hello, Princess. It has been a while since the last time you heard from me, hasn't it? Well I was locked up last week, so I wasn't able to send you a letter. I sort of got into a fight and broke someone's arm and was punished for it (which was unfair since I was not in the wrong). I may be staying here for a little longer than three months because of that. That was really stupid of me. I should have used my brain before I acted.
Please don't cry, Mari. It will all be fine. You are almost finished with therapy and I hope you're making good progress. Please remember that I love you and I'll try to make it home as quick as I can. I love you, Marinette.

Marinette gripped the paper in her hands as she read each word over and over again.

Alya came over to sit beside Marinette.

"He's so stupid sometimes. I just want to slap him," Marinette said, her voice cracking at the end. "He always gets himself into certain situations."

She leaned her head onto Alya's shoulder and tears spilled from her eyes. She then remembered Adrien's words.

"Please don't cry, Mari."

She silently scoffed. How dare he tell her not to cry after something like that?

"He'll be home soon. I just know it," Alya patted her head.

'i hope you're right, Alya,' The Princess thought, closing her eyes.

"Today was our last session, Princess," The therapist, Mrs Brooks, said with a smile. They had made huge progress throughout these three months and she was proud of the Princess for not giving her a hard time. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm fine," It turns out the therapy worked for Marinette, she had her mother to thank for that. "I will miss you, Mrs Brooks. It was fun having you to talk to."

"I will miss you too, your highness," The woman replied before taking a look at her watch. "I must be leaving now. Goodbye, Princess."

Marinette bid her farewell with a bright smile that dulled when the woman walked away. She was better and she felt better. With a sigh, she headed to her room.

Adrien was supposed to be back home three days ago, but because of the incident where he broke someone's arm, they extended his stay.

Marinette plopped down on her bed and hugged a pillow close to her body. She missed him dearly...

Three loud knocks sounded on her door causing her to squeeze her eyes shut. She just wanted to be left alone right now. She doesn't want to speak to anyone.

"Please come back later. I am not in the mood for conversation with anyone," She said loud enough for the person on the other side to hear.

The door knob jiggled then the door was pushed open. A blond headed man pushed his head through the gap. "Does that go for me as well, Princess?"

The air was knocked out of Adrien's body, literally, when Marinette slammed her body to his and pulled him into a hug.

Adrien chuckled and wrapped his arms around his wife. He missed this...

"Don't squeeze too hard, Mari," Adrien smiled, trying to hold back a wince. "I'm still healing."

This caught Marinette's attention. "Healing?" She asked, narrowing her eyes. "Healing from what?"

Sensing Marinette's worry, Adrien gave a lazy smile, but that didn't ease her worry one bit. "I was punished for breaking Nathaniel's arm-"

"What do you mean you broke Nathaniel's arm?!" She exclaimed with wide eyes. Had there been another prince that went by the name of Nathaniel?

"Nathaniel was also sent to the boot camp," Adrien explained. It was an automatic punishment for royals to be sent to the level ten boot camp once they broke one of the top ten rules. "He was being so infuriating and I couldn't stop myself. Because I broke his arm, I obviously got whipped and was locked up for a week. I was supposed to stay there for two extra months, but Council member Plagg visited and only made me stay two days extra."

Marinette let out a frustrated sigh. "Thank God for Plagg." If she hadn't gone and gotten kidnapped by Nathaniel none of this would have happened. She somehow felt that most of the blame should be on her and not only Nathaniel.

Adrien looked down at his wife and saw her having a mental battle with herself. This made him shake his head. Of course Marinette would somehow turn the situation around and blame it on herself.

Rolling his eyes, he captured her lips with his; kissing her passionately.

Marinette felt her knees go weak, Adrien was probably the only thing keeping her up because of his arms wrapped around her waist.

Then they remembered that important thing called breathing and soon pulled away from each other reluctantly.

Marinette saw Adrien lick his lips before smirking and she blushed, hard.

"I have been waiting for months to do that," He muttered, pushing down the lock on her room door. "How about I show you just how much I missed you, Princess?"

Pushing away her shyness, Marinette wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him down to her level. With a smirk of her own, she said, "I would enjoy that very much, your highness."

Taken aback by her boldness, Adrien gaped at her. He was much more shocked when Marinette pushed him down on the bed and climbed on top of him.

The Princess couldn't believe herself. She had silenced Adrien. He was so shocked he hadn't replied yet.

Soon enough, her back hit the matrass and she knew his shock had subsided when he grinned down at her.

With that, he replied, "As you wish, your highness."

"Are you sure about this?" Marinette asked nervously.

"Of course," Adrien replied leading her onto the jet. "I'd much rather to spend my birthday with you rather than at my castle with a bunch of random people."

Marinette let out a hum as a response, taking a seat and strapping in.

They had plan to take a vacation to St Lucia as a vacation/late honeymoon. It just so happened that Adrien's birthday was right around the corner and he was so eager to leave, saying that he didn't want his father to throw a huge birthday ball, inviting so many other royals that he did not want to converse with. Gabriel practically begged them to stay until Adrien's birthday passed, but they young prince wasn't having it.

Marinette relaxed and removed the seatbelt once they were safely in the air. She closed her eyes and let out a sigh of content.

Then Adrien had to poke her stomach.

She scowled and swatted his hand away.

He then did it again.

"Adrien," She growled, her eyes still closed. "Stop that."

"But-"

"I already told you that I'm not pregnant," She flung her arms over her eyes. "Plus, I'm too young for that."

"You'll be twenty soon," He retorted, rubbing her stomach just for the heck of it.

"That says nothing," Her blue eyes fluttered open to meet his breathtaking green ones. "I'm still young."

Marinette realized that Adrien suddenly got so interested in babies since Adrienne gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last week. He was ecstatic that he was an uncle and Marinette found Marin funny, because he didn't look ready at all. After Adrien heard that she had a stomach bug before he returned from camp, he was convinced that she was pregnant.

"I suppose it's too early for us to have a child," He sounded disappointed, but then he started to beam. "But one day in the future."

Marinette smiled and nodded. "One day."

"Happy birthday to you," Marinette sang, violently shaking Adrien awake. "Wake up, you lazy butt."

"Why is my wife so violent?" Adrien muttered to himself, but made absolutely no move to get up.

He felt Marinette strangle his waist, but he didn't give in. However, he did give in when her lips brushed his neck.

His eyes flew open. "I'm up! I'm up!"

She nuzzled his neck and he wrapped his arms around her surprisingly bare waist. "I knew that'd work."

"Whatever," He muttered before, rolling out of the bed and scooping his oh so caring wife up in his arms.

After a very eventful shower, they begun their day. They took a trip to the private beach that was right behind the house and had tons of fun. A while after they went sight seeing, with guards of course and Adrien was beginning to think that this was one of his best birthdays yet. When they got back to the secluded vacation house, Marinette baked Adrien a wonderful triple layered chocolate cake that the blond Prince cried how guilty he felt with every bite he took.

"Today was fun," Adrien commented, helping Marinette to spread the sheet on the sand.

"It was," Marinette muttered, letting out a sigh of content as she took a seat on the sheet.

Adrien took a seat beside her and they both admired the reflection of the sky on the water. It was beautiful.

"I just realized something."

This caught Adrien's attention. "Hmm?"

"Everything that happened to us happened just as we were married," She stated, resting her head on his shoulder.

"Yeah," Adrien agreed. "All our bad luck couldn't wait to make an entrance until we literally just got married."

"We got married."

"I got shot."

"I got kidnapped."

"I threatened to kill your father."

"You saved me."

"I fell in love with you."

Marinette let a smile surface on her lips when Adrien said that.

"You got punished by the Council."

"You fell in love with me."

They sat in silence before laughing out loud.

"So much happened," Marinette pointed out as Adrien pulled her down to lay on her back alongside him.

After placing a short kiss on her lips, he said, "And to think it all happened just as we were married."
