Chapter 32

Angelina's Point of View:

I smiled slightly when I noticed that the guys had left the room to give my dad and I some privacy. When I finally got my dad to stop apologizing, we were able to talk normally.

“You have a beautiful voice princess,” daddy said.

“Thanks,” I replied “I can play the piano too. I’ll play for you some time.”

“I’d love to hear you play,” he said, smiling at me and I just had to hug him.

“I haven’t gotten drunk ever since that night,” he whispered after a moment of silence and my eyes widened in shock.

“W-what?” I stuttered. My first instinct was that he was lying but when I looked into his eyes I knew he was being sincere.

“I am not heartless but I couldn’t find it in me to look at you after that incident because of the guilt that would eat me up. You can’t even begin to imagine how guilty I feel when I look at your picture in my office,” he confessed, tears brimming his eyes.

“You still have a picture of me in your office?” I croaked.

“Of course,” he replied, hugging me tightly.

“I love you daddy,” I said, my voice slightly muffled.

“I love you too princess.”

That morning dad cooked breakfast for us all and I felt like I was a kid again. A happy kid. And I loved it.

The brothers were really happy for me – especially Drew whom I had to thank. We ate out breakfast and dad kept on asking me things about my life trying to make up for all that happened during the years he wasn’t there.

“How’s Nate?” he suddenly asked me “That boy had a crush on you. I’m sure of it.”

I saw Drew tense and I held in a laugh.

“We’re still the same best friends we were years ago,” I replied.

“You didn’t date?” dad asked, surprised.

“Nope,” I answered “But he admitted that he had a crush on me before.”

I couldn’t stop the smile that formed on my lips as Drew’s hands clenched and his blue eyes turned cold. He was so jealous!

“He still does?” dad inquired.

“No, not anymore.”

“I think that’s a lie,” Dad said “I think he still likes you. You should date him.”

“Hmm maybe I will,” I said, biting my cheeks to stop myself from laughing at Drew. It was so funny to see him jealous.

Drew suddenly stood up and stormed out of the room. I blinked at his retreating figure. I wasn’t expecting him to get that mad.

“Er I’ll go talk to him,” I said awkwardly and Liam snickered.

“Always jealous,” Lee muttered under his breath but I heard him clearly. I walked upstairs to my room where I knew Drew would be.

I opened my door and saw Drew staring out of the window, his back turned to me. I closed the door behind me and walked to where he was standing. I knew he heard me come in but he ignore me.

“Are you ignoring me?” I asked when I was next to him.

He didn’t answer.

“Yep you are ignoring me,” I said. He didn’t answer again.

“Okay then, I’ll ignore you too,” I said, turning around to leave my room.

He caught my arm and I had to suppress a smile.

“I’m mad at you,” he growled “I get to ignore you.”

“You have no right to be mad at me,” I replied.

“Maybe I will” he said my earlier words, anger clear in his voice “If you like him that much then why isn’t he your boyfriend?”

I bit my lips because I wanted to laugh at him. He got jealous so easily. He should know that I was teasing him.

“Answer me,” he growled, pushing me against the wall of me room.

When I was finally able to stop the laughter that was bubbling up inside of me, I looked up into his angry blue eyes.

He looked so hot when he was mad. I moved my face closer to his and kissed him without hesitation. He didn’t respond at first but he eventually caved in and kissed me back. I immediately pulled back when he did.

“I was just teasing you,” I said “I don’t like Nate like that. I thought we got over that issue. I didn’t know you would get that jealous.”

“I wasn’t jealous,” he said after a minute of silence and his cheeks turned pink. I laughed at him and he narrowed his eyes at me.

“You’re cute,” I said, smirking at him.

“Don’t call me cute,” he scowled at me.

“I can call you whatever I want,” I said firmly and he grumbled under his breath.

The room fell silent and I found this the perfect moment to thank him.

I lifted my right hand to his face and he looked down at me.

“Thank you,” I said, staring into his blue eyes.

He smiled softly at me and held me closer to him.

“I’m glad everything worked out,” he said.

“Me too,” I replied.

We went back downstairs where my dad and the other two brothers were seated, talking about something. As soon as we entered the room, they stopped talking. When I saw my dad scowling, my heart skipped a beat as the worst possible scenarios flashed in my mind. I forced myself to calm down before talking.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

Lee and Liam were trying to stifle their laughter as their eyes filled with amusement.

“What are you intending to do with my daughter?” he asked, his eyes glaring at Drew. I immediately understood what was going on and so did Drew. His face turned white and his eyes widened as he stared at my intimidating dad.

I bit my lip and coughed to cover my laughter.

“I-I…” Drew started but my dad cut him off.

“Wrong answer,” he said threateningly “You will not do anything that involves my daughter. Understood?”

I was shocked when I heard Drew’s reply. “No,” he answered firmly, holding my hand.

“No?” Dad echoed seeming just as surprised.

“I love your daughter and we are together. You’re not going to change that. As a matter of fact, I’m taking her out on a date tonight,” Drew answered sternly and I stared at him wide-eyed.

My dad narrowed his eyes at Drew and Drew stared back. After a minute, a smiled formed on my dad’s lips.

“I like this kid!” he said, surprising us all.

“You do?” All four of us said.

“Yeah,” he said then his expression suddenly turned dead serious “Hurt her and I’ll kill you.”

Drew swallowed audibly and nodded his head.

“Good,” dad said firmly.

He then turned to me and his eyes softened. “I’m going to go rest,” he said “We’re spending our day at the beach tomorrow, okay princess?”

“Okay,” I said happily. I missed spending time with my dad and I’m now looking forward for tomorrow.

He went upstairs to his room and as soon as he was out of sight, Drew breathed a sigh of relief.

“So you’re taking me on a date tonight?” I asked, smirking at him.

“Yes I am,” he nodded his head.

I grinned widely and my stomach twisted in excitement and nervousness. This would be our first real date together.

For the rest of the afternoon we just lazed around and talked about nothing important.

“Why don’t you go get ready and I’ll prepare a few things for our date?” Drew said and I stared at him curiously.

“Prepare what?” I asked.

“It’s a surprise,” he winked at me and I rolled my eyes at the cheesiness.

I went upstairs to my room but I passed to my dad’s room first. He was asleep though so I didn’t wake him up.

I opened my closet and looked at the clothes I had here. I finally decided on a navy blue short summer dress and matched it with my silver flats. I put also put on my silver heart-shaped necklace and the matching bracelets.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror and thought that I looked good enough. I only applied a little bit of lip gloss before I was ready to go.

I went downstairs and found Drew waiting patiently for me. Lee and Liam were nowhere in sight though.

“You look beautiful,” he said, staring at me.

“Thanks,” I replied, blushing slightly.

He took my hand and we walked out of my house. The stars and silver moon were already up, lighting the dark sky and the wind held a tinge of cold. The smell of salty water and the sound of the waves calmed me down. I love this place.

We walked till we reached the sand which was now empty of people. The ocean was much closer to us now and I could clearly see the waves.

After a minute of looking around, I noticed the red and white mat on the sand with food on it. I gasped as I looked at the small sandwiches, vegetables, muffins, and cookies.

“When did you prepare this?” I asked, amazed.

“My brothers helped so we managed to prepare this while you were getting dressed,” he said.

“Wow, thank you,” I replied, smiling at him.

We sat and started eating the food. It was surprisingly delicious. I found it so beautiful to be sitting here at night, on the beach, under the stars and a full moon, with the boy I love.

“What do you want to study when you get to university?” Drew asked me, catching me off guard by this question. It was the first time we talk about the future.

“I want to be a nurse,” I replied “What about you?”

“Surgeon,” he replied.

“Where are you going to study?” I asked him and I was reluctant to hear the answer.

“I’m still not sure,” he replied cautiously. I averted my gaze back to the ocean. How much is it going to hurt when he leaves at the end of the summer?

That thought made my heart hurt. I brought my knees closer to my chest and rested my chin on them.

“We’ll figure it out,” he said softly as he pulled me closer to him. I nodded my head even though I didn’t really believe his words. Things like this happen in life, we just have to deal with them. But for now, I want to think of the present even if the future is closer than I can imagine.

“Thank you for the dinner,” I told him, looking into his blue eyes “It was perfect.”

He smiled at me and leaned down to kiss me. My arms wrapped around his neck as he held my waist and pulled me onto his lap.

When I tried to pull away, he didn’t let me. He held my face firmly and kept on kissing me. I wasn’t complaining though.

“I love you so much,” he whispered when we pulled away. His words echoed in my head and drifted with the sound of the waves.

I held him tightly and as cheesy as it sounds, I didn’t want to let go.

Many people have been asking how many chapters are left and I'm thinking around 3 chapters and an epilogue?

Yeah this story is coming to an end :(  BUT I'm working on a new story and I'm so excited! :) I already have the first few chapters written! I hope you guys will like it! :) I think I'll start posting it next weekend (:
