A Night Out

The sun was now starting to set by the time you walked back into the Inn. Your sleeves were rolled up and your head had some sweat stuck to it.

You were finally done with everything you needed to do.

For today, at least.

But you felt good. Refreshed. Slightly tired and maybe more hungry than you wanted to admit.

You took off your boots and carried them back towards your room. You planned on taking a quick bath before seeing if Olaf could make you something quick. You promised to help Kayn at the bar tonight since it was probably going to be busy.

You reached your room and opened your door, but stopped when you heard another open. You looked down the hall to see Ahri walking out of the room she and Evelynn shared. She was now dressed in casual wear which was a black tee shirt and a pair of grey lounge shorts.

She scratched the back of her left ear before she noticed you. You smiled and waved which invited a conversation. Ahri walked over to you and smiled.

Ahri: Hey. I was wondering when you'd get back.

Y/N: You were?

Ahri shrugged.

Ahri: I just wanted to thank you for showing us around the other day. I didn't realize how busy you normally were, so I appreciate you taking time out of your day for us.

She bowed to show her appreciation but you just waved it off.

Y/N: It's no problem. Really.

She lifted herself back up and you tossed your boots into your room.

Y/N: So, how were your first few days?

Ahri suddenly became blank faced as her head dropped to the side and a small puff of her soul escaped her mouth.

Y/N: That bad, huh?

Ahri just sighed.

Ahri: I never knew being a maid was so rough. We were to tired to even think about planning a song.

You raised a brow. You nearly forgot that they were actual pop stars and not just divas. Well, Evelynn was still a diva but maybe she changed the more you knew her?

Y/N: Well, the more you work the more use to it you get.

Ahri just frowned before she noticed something on your arm. A burn that went from your elbow down to nearly your wrist. She caught herself staring before you did.

Ahri: Uh...

Y/N: As much as I would love to talk, I got to get washed up and get some food in me before I head out.

Ahri: Head out? Are you going somewhere?

You nodded.

Y/N: Kayn needs some help at the SR. Actually, maybe I can just use his shower. And I'm pretty sure I can raid his fridge.

Ahri felt her left ear twice when she suddenly had an idea.

Ahri: Do you think I could tag along? Just to hang out, maybe get a drink?

Ahri figured that she could have an actual conversation with you without the others around. Plus, everyone was doing their own thing now. Akali was already asleep, Kai'sa was having tea with Grandma, and Evelynn wanted to do nothing after a day of work.

So she was bored, but you seem interesting. Plus, she figured she could learn more about the town itself and everyone in it.

You gave it some thought before you shrugged.

Y/N: Sure. Let me grab some clothes and we'll head over.

Ahri nodded excitedly.

Ahri: Got it! I'll go get dressed right now. Meet you out front in ten?

You nodded and Ahri hurried back to her room. You turned back to your room and headed in.

Looks like you were going to be talking to Ahri tonight.
*********
Ahri was pretty impressed by Kayn's loft. Especially by how clean it was.

Kayn: Make yourself comfortable.

Ahri looked over to find Kayn in the kitchen area where he was making you a microwaved dinner. He was already dressed in a dark button down and a red bow tie with his hair once again in a braied ponytail.

Ahri: Okay. I love this place, by the way. Feels nice a cozy.

Kayn smiled a bit.

Kayn: Yeah, well, I tried. Jinx really helped me out with it.

Ahri nodded as she continued to walk around.

Ahri: Are you two close?

Kayn seemed to hesitate for a moment before he answered.

Kayn: Yeah. You can say that. Technically we all grow up together.

Ahri noticed the pause but decided against prying. Clearly there was something else going on there, but it wasn't her place. Besides, she already had a question roaming her mind.

Did anyone ever ask about that birthmark around his eye?

Ahri: I can tell. I mean, Y/N is using your shower. You're making him dinner.

Kayn: We take care of each other. It's what we do. Even if we want to tear each other's heads off sometimes.

Kayn pulled out the food when the microwave started to beeped. He set it down on the oven and tossed the small hand held dish towel to the side. Just then, the bathroom door opened and you stepped out, without a shirt.

Ahri immediately found her eyes glued on you. The steam from the shower didn't help that much either.

But after years of manual labor and working with your hands, it does things for the body. Especially with your regular work out routine. But she wasn't expecting such a body.

But that wasn't all. There was a scar on your right rib that reached from your hip to your ribcage. But there was also another burn mark on your left shoulder. It looked like the one on your arm.

You were drying your hair with a towel while another was wrapped around your waist.

Y/N: Man. Nothing beats a hot shower.

Kayn: A good lay comes to mind.

You both pointed at each other with smiles. Ahri just stared at you with increasingly red cheeks. You were attractive, yes, and you seemed to have a good personality. Surely you had your fair share of female attention. Still, something told her that you didn't sleep around as one might thing upon first impression.

Y/N: Thanks for the food and shower. I appreciate it.

Kayn: Consider it a thank you for helping me tonight.

You nodded as you walked over to the couch where your bag was. You opened it and pulled out the clothes you brought with you.

Y/N: Alright. Let me get changed and I'll eat real quick.

Kayn: Okay. I'll be heading down soon to open up. Just come down when you're ready.

You nodded and headed for the bedroom area. You pulled the curtain over to give you some privacy while Ahri let out a shaky breath.

Kayn looked at her with a raised brow as she fanned herself.

Kayn: You okay over there, Foxy? You look a bit, heated under the collar.

Ahri snapped out of her fantasies and shook her head.

Ahri: Y-Yeah! I'm fine. Nothing wrong here. Ha. Yep.

Kayn just looked at her unconvinced. He rolled his eyes and grabbed keys.

Kayn: Whatever. I'm heading downstairs. Try not to screw in my room. Use the couch or whatever. Clean up when you're done.

He lazily waved while Ahri's cheeks grew even redder. Once he was gone, Ahri continued to fan herself.

It was really hot in here.
*******
Bard: Another one for me, good sir!

Y/N: Right away!

You mixed his usual drink with a charming smile as you spoke to some of the other patrons. Ahri watched from her spot at the bar as you and Kayn effortlessly served the customers and made small talk.

She also enjoyed being able to go out for drinks like this without being swarmed. She actually felt herself relaxing more with the nice ampthsere.

Plus, the service was pretty handsome.

Y/N: Need another drink?

Ahri hummed before she nodded. She watched as you immediately pulled out a cocktail that you already had prepared. She smiled and mouthed a thank you.

You started to clean her glass while Kayn kept everyone else entertained. Things had slowed down a bit so you were able to relax a bit.

Ahri: How did you learn to mix a drink like this?

You just smirked.

Y/N: One of the foster families I lived with, their actual son was a bartender. He gave me a book on it and I started trying some stuff out.

Ahri lifted her head.

Ahri: Foster family?

You nodded. You put the clean glass away.

Y/N: Yep. Had about six before I finally got arrested. I guess you could say that I'm a statistic.

Ahri was actually surpised by this revaluation. She would've never guess that you were a foster kid. Or, that you once were.

Then again, it seemed like the Inn was a foster home of sorts.

Ahri: Well, I wouldn't say that.

Y/N: Most people wouldn't. But that's because they're being nice.

Ahri: Well, maybe I want to be nice.

You just eyed her.

Y/N: Sure.

Ahri: I do!

Y/N: Yeah. Yeah.

Ahri just rolled her eyes, obviously enjoying the joke. She sipped on her drink before she hummed in satisfaction.

Ahri: Well, in that case, you're pretty good at mixing drinks. For a statistic.

She winked at you while you ran your tongue along the side of your teeth with a nodded.

Y/N: Okay. Well, you just stay there looking pretty and I'll get back to you.

Ahri smiled as she lifted her drink to her lips. You walked away away help someone else leaving her alone.

She couldn't remember the last time she was this at ease. Or the last time she had casually flirted with someone. But even further, the last time she had an actual good drink.

She watched you talk to the other people in the bar with the same smile and charisma that you seemed to be a natural at. And it paired well with your clothes. You wore more or less the same thing Kayn did, but you wore a red vest with your sleeves rolled up.

You had also combed your hair back which really let your E/C eyes shine.

Rakan: You look thirsty.

Ahri flinched at the hand on her shoulder as Rakan took a seat next to her. He offered a smile.

Ahri: Oh, hello.

Rakan: Hey. Uh, Ahri, right?

Ahri nodded. Rakan had recalled meeting her the night before.

Ahri: No Xayah?

Rakan shook his head.

Rakan: No. She doesn't drink. Everyone at the Inn but Jinx and Olaf are sober.

Ahri looked over to you and she realized you were doing water shots when the others were doing real ones.

Ahri: Wow. I didn't even notice. But, I guess that makes sense. Xayah doesn't seem like she would drink.

Rakan said nothing. He lifted his hand and Kayn noticed. He gave a nod before he grabbed a beer from the freezer. He walked over and handed it to his friend before he returned to his other customers.

Ahri watched him for a moment before she thought to ask something.

Ahri: Say, does Xayah care if you drink?

Rakan said nothing at first. He seemed to think about it before he shook his head.

Rakan: I doubt it. It's not like it's any of her business anyway.

Ahri was surpsied to hear this.

Ahri: I mean, I guess that's true. But you should still thank your girlfriend's feelings into consideration.

Rakan looked at her as if she had said something odd.

Rakan: We aren't...actually, we aren't together, like that.

Ahri realized her mistake and immediately blushed in embarrassment.

Ahri: Oh. I'm so sorry. I didn't...I just thought that....the way you two were acting last night....

Rakan just gave a dry chuckle.

Rakan: Uh, yeah. Most people think, uh, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have sounded so mad. It's just, a lot.

Rakan nodded as he looked at her.

Rakan: But it really is just something between me and her.

Ahri: Yeah, no, I completely get it. I mean, I just got here. I don't know the story or anything. Sorry for assuming.

Rakan: It's fine. Really.

The two nodded to each other before Rakan took a drink.

Rakan: So, why were you staring at my friend like he was a piece of meat?

Ahri nearly spat her drink out while Rakan laughed at her.
**********
Ahri: Wow. It's such a nice night.

You and Ahri walked together back to the Inn. Her cheeks were a bit rosey from the alcohol, but you were stone cold sober.

Y/N: Yeah. Sorry that we ended up closing so late. I was expecting it to be an early night.

Ahri: It's fine.

She moved closer to you and grabbed your sleeve.

Ahri: Your drinks are really good. Good job.

She patted your cheek.

Y/N: Thanks. You sure you're okay? You seem a bit....drunk.

Ahri shook her head.

Ahri: Buzzed. Not quite drunk.

You just nodded.

Y/N: Well, what do you think about our small town now that you've had a night out on it?

Ahri gave it some thought as she held her hands behind her back.

Ahri: Well, it's nice. Very peaceful. It's a nice change of pace.

You looked at her.

Y/N: Yeah? A far cry from the city, right?

Ahri nodded.

Ahri: It's also nice not to have cameras constantly on us. And the lack of pressure to, you know, be great isn't really there anymore.

She got quiet which you noticed. Maybe it really was because she was buzzed.

Ahri: It's nice to forget that I failed the others for a while.

You raised a brow at her statement.

Y/N: You failed the others? In what way, if I may ask?

Ahri realized what she said and looked at you with wide eyes. She quickly shook her head before she slapped her cheeks. She then took a deep breath and straightened up.

Ahri: It's nothing. Just forget that.

You stopped walking while Ahri took a few more steps. She finally stopped and let out a sigh. She turned around and looked at you.

Y/N: You can talk to me if you need to. I know we haven't known each other for long, but I'm willing to listen.

Ahri seemed to actually consider it, but she shook her head.

Ahri: No. I, just forget it. It's my own problem. You shouldn't have to help me deal with it. Especially because we're still pretty much strangers.

You just out your hands in your pockets and shrugged.

Y/N: Okay. If that's how you feel, then I'll respect your boundaries. But it is late. We should get back. Especially since we have work tomorrow.

You walked past her while she stood there with wide eyes.

Ahri: Wait....what?!

She grabbed you and turned you around and held you in place by holding your shoulders.

Ahri: We have to work tomorrow?! But it's Friday!

You nervously smiled as you gently pushed her back down.

Y/N: I know. But the Inn is always open. Plus, for me, there's always things to work on. And for you girls, well....

Ahri whined as she realized she would need to wake up for work in the morning. And, right now, it was currently 2 AM and work started at 5 AM. She only had three hours to sleep.

Ahri: Why does the universe hate me?

You just shyly smiled as you walked towards the Inn.

You had only half an hour to get some rest before you had to wake up and get your own day started.

Anri watched you and suddenly found her cheeks growing red when she recalled your earlier appearance. She dragged herself behind you as she mumbled to herself.

Ahri: Can I at least get another look before I have to suffer again?
