Yoonmin (One shot)
Jimin made a warm cup of coffee for himself as he took a break from his work. After getting an idea of renovation, he couldn't stop but start right away and had started working on his idea with the sunrise, changing placement of furniture in his apartment and making place for new things he just bought like paintings, frames, table lamps etc.
After working without a break for two hours straight he decided to put a hold for a cup of coffee. He couldn't, however, take even one sip since he was interrupted by the unexpected bell.
"Was anyone coming today?"
Mumbling to himself, the brunette walked slowly towards the door and flung it open. The person his eyes landed on was the last person he would have expected to see.
Yoongi.
The sudden sight of his ex who still had Jimin's heart wrapped around him made the brunette fill up with joy at the sudden appearance and it was evident from Jimin's facial expressions that he was so delighted to see Yoongi after so long and wanted to hug him to greet him. But the brunette dropped his giddy smile immediately when he realized they weren't the same as before. Three years passed without any contact but the fire never died in Jimin's heart and Yoongi saw all changes happening in front of him but couldn't say a word. He knew the meaning and reason well, one of them being Yoongi himself, so he couldn't call the other out on it.
He was the guy whom Jimin had to break up with three years ago because conditions were so unfavorable for them to stay together. The same guy who he couldn't stop thinking about for single a day without letting a single soul know. The same guy who said he had nothing in his control even though he wanted Jimin as much as the brunette wanted him.
But why was he here? What could have brought him to Jimin's house today?
Jimin cleared his throat and gave a timid smile as he recollected himself.
"Hi."
Yoongi's heart clenched at the pain that suddenly drowned Jimin's form but returned the smile anyway.
"Hi."
It was awkwardly silent for a few seconds after that. Jimin didn't know what to say and Yoongi was just in trance after seeing his once ex boyfriend after so long. When Jimin finally thought of something he opened his mouth to talk but Yoongi brought his hands from behind his back and let Jimin's eyes rest on a bouquet of tulips. The brunette blinked multiple times at his favourite flowers as his hands moved slowly to take the precious thing in his hand.
"Uh, thanks."
Yoongi didn't say anything as he just kept his eye on every movement of the boy in front of him trying to hold himself back from taking him in embrace and keeping him close until his heart would calm down.
Jimin kept gawking at the flowers for a while before finally looking up and giving it another try to make the other stay, knowing well it would be useless again.
"So, did you come just to give me these or, maybe, you can stay for a cup of coffee or something?"
Yoongi didn't even think about his composure as he immediately replied.
"Coffee would be nice."
Jimin smiled as he stepped aside and let the other in without letting him know how ecstatic he was by hearing that.
Yoongi looked around at the scattered things and half organized space before speaking up.
"Renovating?"
Jimin was grinning at the flowers in his hand when he heard the question which made him look back and nodded with a smile before going in the kitchen to grab the coffee he just made for himself. He brought it to Yoongi and handed it carefully before going back to what he was doing. He picked up the painting from the table and stood on his toes to reach the nail. Yoongi watched as Jimin made an effort in putting the painting up and asked.
"Can I help?"
Jimin immediately shook his head.
"No no. I will do it myself. Besides, you don't know how to do it right."
Yoongi chuckled softly as he sipped his coffee in silence after that as the humorous thought made him smile constantly.
Jimin and his OCD.
The brunette finally put the painting up and stood back to judge if it looked alright. Nodding to himself he grabbed another one and stood on his toes again to put it up. As he was trying, he was surprised by Yoongi's sudden appearance when the older male came in front of his face and lifted him up without a word.
"I can at least lift you up in a right way, right?"
Jimin blushed madly at the sudden gesture and his breath was stuck in his throat for a moment before he quickly put the painting on the wall and timidly spoke.
"You can put me down now."
Yoongi complied and lowered him on the floor. The brunette looked back at the table and saw that two more paintings were left. He tried to steady his heart beat as he grabbed the next one without checking how the previous one looked like but before turning around he said.
"I'm sorry for bothering you like this."
Yoongi shook his head when Jimin turned around and lifted him up with ease before replying.
"You're never a bother to me, you know."
Jimin didn't respond as he tried to fight his blush before he would be put down again.
After getting all the frames up on their selected spots, Jimin cleared up the table a little bit as he thanked Yoongi rather awkwardly.
"Thanks for your help. Although you're a guest, you had to do that so I'm sorry again."
Yoongi didn't know what to say seeing Jimin fighting with himself like that. He could tell very well how the brunette was swallowing his original words every time he talked and said the ones that would not show what he's actually thinking. It hurt Yoongi a lot but how was he supposed to react? He knew he was the cause of it all and his mere presence was affecting his ex that much.
Yoongi was busy in his thoughts and Jimin in his own which caused a very think silence to reign over them. The younger of the two reached for the empty coffee cup after a moment and took it to the kitchen to wash it up leaving Yoongi behind.
Yoongi saw him walk away without a word and followed him unknowingly. When he saw Jimin's back as the brown haired male was washing the cup he couldn't stop himself anymore and went ahead to hug his ex from behind startling the younger.
"Wha-"
"I wish we could stay like this forever."
Jimin's heart skipped two beats as the older put his chin on the brunette's shoulder and stole the words from his mind. He too wished for that to happen but he also knew all too well that it wasn't possible. If it ever was, they wouldn't have been in the present situation in the first place.
As the reality crushed his momentary happiness, Jimin placed the cup aside and put his hands on Yoongi's that were wrapped protectively around the younger's waist, resting on his tummy and slowly pulled them away.
"Don't think about ridiculous things. That can't happen so stop imagining stuff like that."
Yoongi's heart clenched as he let his ex detach himself from the older and walk out in the living room. He couldn't stop blaming himself for hurting this lovely being for so long. Even more so because, at times, he doubted that maybe Jimin didn't have same feelings for him anymore. How could he have ever doubted his ex's love for him? Why did he ever doubt it? That was an insult to Jimin's feelings. It was an insult to all that effort that Jimin had to put in to live through all those times with Yoongi in his hurting heart and a smile on his face.
But not anymore. He came to see Jimin to end that pain. And he would end it right now.
Thinking about it for one last time, the older moved forward and grabbed the disheartened boy's wrist and stopped him in his tracks.
"Jiminie."
The brunette felt his heart drop down to his feet at the name his ex used to call him when they were together. Yoongi shouldn't be calling him that now. Or ever. He should just let it go like Jimin let him go- or at least he tried to.
"Yoongi, please don't talk about things that will never happen. It only causes pain to both of us."
Jimin put his broken heart out without turning around and facing Yoongi but the other didn't ask for it. Instead, he moved ahead and went to stand in front of him.
"I want to end your pain, Jimin. Please let me."
Jimin almost raised his hopes. Almost. But he didn't. He stopped himself before he could make it any harder for himself.
"Yoongi. *sigh* Don't-"
The said male smiled softly at his struggling ex before pecking his lips to cut him off and moved back a bit, only to get down on his knee making the flustered male blink his eyes at the speed of light being unable to catch on with the sudden shift of events.
"Yoongi, what- what're you.."
The older's teeth flashed in a grin as he reached his free hand in his pocket while the other kept holding Jimin's. Out came a small object which the younger gawked at before his eyes started to tear up. This was way too much for him. Why was Yoongi playing with him like this? Why was he doing this when he knew about their limitations? Why was he making fun of his love for Yoongi?
"Don't do it, Yoongi. Please. *sniff* It's already too hard."
Yoongi kissed the sobbing male's hand as he stared him in the eyes.
"I told you before didn't I, baby? I want to end your pain. So, marry me?"
Jimin couldn't hold it in anymore as his eyes opened the flood gates and he started crying openly. Yoongi stayed in his position not wanting to move until he got the answer he wanted no matter how long it would take.
"Why *hiccup* why are you doing this? You know how much I wanted *hiccup* this? Why are you-?"
He couldn't even properly say what he was feeling because it was too overwhelming. For so long he imagined this scenario taking place in multiple ways because that was all he could do. He could only imagine since it would never actually happen. But Yoongi was down right stepping on his little fantasy, crushing it into million pieces and not even wavering a bit while doing so.
"Jiminie?"
Hearing that word made him want to hug Yoongi but he couldn't. The older wasn't his no matter how much he loved him to make him his. On top of that, the same man was mocking him in the cruelest way possible.
"My pabo Jiminie?"
Still sniffing like a little kid, the brunette opened his eyes to look at the other's soft ones but didn't say anything. What even was there to say?
"If you want to then you can agree with me. I took care of everything."
Jimin immediately stopped breathing. He couldn't possibly mean what Jimin thought he did. He just couldn't, could he?
Yoongi took the silence as a positive response and continued.
"I'm sorry that it took me so long, but I told you multiple times before that I can't think of being with anyone other than my baby boy, Jimin. I always meant it, you know. But I guess I never made it convincing enough for you with my actions, right? *chuckle*"
He stroked Jimin's cheek as he continues.
"I tried to convince both of our parents and did whatever either of them asked me to make them realize that I'm not going to give up on you. In the end, I succeeded and they approved. Now here I am, asking for one last approval to be finally happy. Will you let me have a happy ending by being the reason to it, Park Jimin?"
Jimin was in tears once again but this time because of many other reasons including happiness, nodding his head so vigorously that Yoongi feared it might break off. Smiling brightly at his giggling lover, Yoongi slipped the ring on his finger as Jimin wiped his face with his other hand. Yoongi stood up to hug Jimin but was kissed immediately as Jimin's small hands cupped his face. He chuckled in the kiss before slipping his arms around his fiancé and kissing back. It had been so long since they kissed like that and they felt like a thirsty traveler in the desert who just found water after days of being devoid of it.
When Yoongi tried to move away to say something, Jimin pulled him back with a quick 'more please'.
It wasn't lust. It wasn't greed for skin. It was the hunger for love. It was the thirst for his soul that was taken away from him when he left his lover trying to get over him because of their circumstances.
Yoongi didn't say anything as he complied and let the younger kiss him until he was satisfied. Although, he knew it would never be enough since they both could never have a limit to how much they want of each other.
When need for air forced Jimin to detach himself from Yoongi's mouth, the younger pulled back and stared at his lover with adoration dripping from his eyes but no words could form in his euphoric mind. They kept staring at each other for what felt like eternity before Yoongi spoke up.
"I can't believe you still loved me even after all those years."
Jimin giggled as he kept his eyes glued to the other's wondering if this was a just a hallucination that might disappear if he blinked.
"And I still can't believe this is actually happening, Yoongi bear. Or rather happened."
Yoongi moved one of his hand up to place it on the younger's cheek and sighed.
"You better believe it. You are mine now. And I'm yours. Forever."
Mine forever. Mine.
The words that Jimin used to say repeatedly to Yoongi whenever they talked and the same words that haunted Yoongi, more like motivated him to do all he could do to make them his lover's reality.
Today, he finally accomplished it and could at last breathe in content. He could finally sleep peacefully now with Jimin in his embrace rather than in his mind.
