Understanding?

Once Cedric ensured that young Carlos Lorezo Tores was safely set upon the ground, he figured his daily aid with whatever the young prince and princesses got into was done, and turned to go, when the visiting Princess Valentina stopped him, but for a good purpose it seemed.

"Oh, one moment Mr. Ceedric", she unknowingly brought back the mispronunciation issue again, and the Sorcerer sagged a bit as he faced her, yet soon put on a smile.

"Yes Princess?"

"Carlos has still yet to apologize to you and everyone", Val said pointedly, glancing down to her young cousin, who frowned.

"You can't be serious! James started it!", Carlos protested.

This of course got a rise out of the prince, "I did not! You started it insulting Minimus!", he declared.

"You cheated!"

"Well you..."

A hand to either boys' shoulders, by Val and Roland, stalled the argument."James...", Roland said, "a prince must learn diplomacy".

"Yes", Valentina agreed to her cousin, "all royals, especially when visiting another kingdom...". She ignored glancing to Elena, in case the other wanted to point out any irony in Val's lecture, but that was exactly the point, and Val trying to save her cousin the same pointless bickering she had gone through, ruining her kingdom's reputation.

Still from where the guards watched, Manuel gave a small grin, Gabe and Cid hiding their own, and Naomi with them less skillful at hiding hers.

"Ok I'm sorry", James only sounded half sincere but it was all Roland could get out of him at the moment.

Val nudged Carlos. "Yeah me too I guess", he rushed, just as perhaps insincere. Val wasn't fully satisfied, but it would have to do! Cedric nodded and then continued along his way, actually having already put the whole annoyance behind him.

"Well, I'm sure the boys just got over enthused", Elena was more than ready to extend the same grace she'd given Valentina to her cousin and gave Carlos a smile; the boy returned it after a bit, but it was clear he was still bothered by the whole incident (and embarrassed at his earlier position stuck on the tower!).

The Stable Master came for the horses, and Roland nodded to him, before glancing at the Royal party with him once more, "Well, Princess Valentina has yet to see the castle, so perhaps a tour?", he suggested.

"That sounds lovely", Val agreed.

"I saw it last time, but I'll still come with, provided that's alright, King Roland?", Elena said.

"Of course", the king agreed and everyone walked back towards the castle, the boys wondering if it was now on purpose that they were escorted by the adults in case they thought they would cause any more trouble. Carlos noticed Val was hardly leaving him be and walking right beside.

Amber, Sofia and Isabel watched them from back with Elena as they walked. "He really was awful", Amber suddenly admitted, meaning Carlos and knowing that as James' twin her words perhaps sounded biased. Isabel backed it up with a small nod and even Sofia didn't refute it.

Glad they were far enough back that the words were perhaps missed, Elena smiled to the girls, "You know", she said, making sure to keep her voice down, "When Princess Val first came to Avalor, she was very competitive trying to prove herself as good as she'd heard I was, but once I understood that we got along; and I'm sure Carlos, as a child, coming here and meeting two kingdoms, may be a bit intimidated too".

Actually, Elena wasn't sure of this, but it was very possible. The girls glanced to each other and Sofia and Isabel soon smiled, "You're right!", Sofia said, "maybe we just have to make sure to be nice".

"Maybe...", Amber sounded less convinced.
