I gently raised myself from my sleeping positions and stretched my arms. I placed my hand over mouth to make sure my face was still covered. Thank everything that it was. After sitting up, more like sitting down, I turned towards the seat where L was. He was still sitting there on his laptop. "You're up?" I murmured. L briefly turned towards me and then back to his laptop. He nodded. "I'm an insomniac. I don't sleep," he replied curtly. "I also must insist you call me Ryusaki. Don't want anyone getting suspicious," he added.
"You may also want an alias, to protect your identity." I shook my head. "I thought you'd be smarter than that," I muttered. I looked over to him and he payed me no attention. "I already gave you an alias. If my name got out there, poof! I'm gone." L continued to ignore me and type on his laptop. Why would he pay such a lowly thief any attention? "The others will be coming... when?" I asked sarcastically. "If they're not late, then in 3... 3... 1..." L stopped talking. There was a knock on the door and four men walked in. One had curly hair, Aizowa, one was burly looking, Mogi, an idiot, Matsuda, and one that appeared to be a student. They must be Light Yagami, the supposed Kira. He looks completely innocent, yet completely guilty.
"Hey, Ryusaki, who's this?" Matsuda asked. He indicated towards me and the four men sat down. L opened his mouth to speak, but I interrupted him, "I'm someone waiting to be judged by Kira. Don't bother, though." I glared at Light for a moment. "I'm aware of the fact Kira is in this room. You can't kill me, I wasn't born in Japan and my parents 'smuggled' me in. You won't find any files on me," I sneered. Although unseen, there was a large smirk on my face. "Kei Salter, a thief. Working with us due to blackmail material she has. I can not tell you what that material is," L butted in.
A cough echoed throughout the room. The silence was broken by Matsuda, whom said, "Nice to be working with you, K-kei. I'm Matsuda." I scanned the room and noticed a gap between Light and Mogi. Is someone missing? "Mogi," the burly man greeted. "I'm Aizowa," the curly haired gentlemen greeted. I turned towards Light, who hadn't introduced himself. He was returning my earlier glare. If he's Kira, he must be plotting how to get rid off me. Even if he gets my name, somehow, he won't know my face. I'm going to be difficult, aren't I? I hope you enjoy yourself. His expression softened. "Light Yagami. Please to meet you," he greeted. Light held a hand out which I reluctantly shook.
"Kei, I'm surprised you didn't notice Chief Yagami missing." L stated. Chief Yagami? But Light's right here. I gave him a confused look. "Didn't you read the last file?" Did I really miss a file? Really? I got up from the sofa and went to retrieve the files from the bedroom. They weren't there anymore. When I returned to the lounge area, L had the files in his hand. "I didn't quite finish," L pointed out. I swiped the papers out of his hand and sat back down on my seat. "Chief... Light's father, but that's obvious... rocks a moustache and glasses better than anyone..." I murmured. "You're kind of murmuring some nonsense, Kei. Would you mind telling us what you mean?" Light inquired. His tone made me sick to my stomach. False innocence. I know this tone too well. I've used it a lot.
"I'm just..." my voice trailed off. I don't really have a reason for it. "I don't know. I don't really have a reason for it. Mental notes, I guess." Light nodded, although it was obvious he longed for a more interesting answer. "Misa misa, where's she?" I asked to no one in particular. "She's at a photoshoot, she'll be here later," Light replied. Sickly... "Chief Yagami?" I continued. "Ill," Light and L said in unison. So clearly Light and L are the smartest here. I'm assuming Mogi, Aizowa and Chief are on par. Matsuda and Misa likely have the least intelligence.
L. Smart, weird, serious. Or not serious? I honestly can't tell. So far he's made puns that slip under the radar. Light. Smart, confident, guilty. I can tell by his tone he's done something. He may not be Kira, but he has certainly done something wrong. I can never mistake that sickening tone of someone who has wronged. Even if they don't think they are in the wrong, it's all the same. I don't like nor trust you at all, Light Yagami. If a world of light is what you desire, I'd rather live in a world of dark. The world before you. It's much safer than your ideals. Killing for justice...
