Chapter 10: Just a Set Up
Sayori's POV
Natsuki and Yuri are getting along in the club, it's like something set off inside them to be with each other.
Perfect.
Anyway the next step is, I'm going to send them both another text that is a poem, but in this love poem their 'secret admirer' is going to ask them out on a date.
Hmm where should they go though? I'm laying on my bed, just lost in my thoughts. I need to pick a good place for Natsuri to meet, maybe the park?
No that would be lame. What about- My Mom walks into my room, interrupting my plan thinking.
"Sayori. You can't keep laying around the house all day, go out and do something." My Mom demands me.
"What?! Stephen gets to lay around the house all day, why can't I?" I ask her.
"Your brother gets to because he's always busy with college and needs a lot of breaks, now chop chop!" My shitty Mom points out the door.
Stephen this, Stephen that! My parents never do anything terrific for me, it's always Stephen who gets the good stuff. Ugh!
"...Bitch." I whisper veryy quietly, so Mom wouldn't hear me. I walk out of my room into the laundry room.
I had to grab my coat because It's starting to get chilly outside, being November, it's understandable.
Gotdammit! I can't believe my own mother is trying to get rid of me out in the cold! I hate her, I hate my parents!
Now, what should I do since I'v been kicked out? As I'm walking out in the yard, I stumble across Stephen's window. Inside there was my Mom and she seemed happy talking to him.
She gives him a hug and he tries to pull back because he always hated hugs. She seems so proud of him.
Finally she leaves him alone, Mom gives my brother a motherly kiss on the cheek and leaves the room.
They never kiss or hug me. They don't even say 'I love you' to me.
I eventually walk on our street with my hands in my jacket pockets. For some reason I can feel my eyes getting watery.
Is it because of the wind blowing on my eyelids or? A tear falls down my cheek. I'm crying?
There was this pain in my chest, I couldn't describe it, it was just pain.
Why? Why these feelings now? It was getting to sappy, so I tried to wipe tears away, but they kept coming.
Quit crying, you don't have time to cry. The second time I tried to suck it up, I can't let my emotions get the best of me.
I can feel my cheeks flushing a little from crying and a weird feeling of dry tears under my eyes. Well at least your not crying anymore.
A minute later, the little frog in my throat disappears. Ah great it's going to be dark soon and it's all foggy around here. I look up at the sky, the sunset was setting over the horizon.
It had colors like orange, yellow, purple, and it made the clouds shine. Some stars were visible, you could almost see the moon too.
I can't go out far, I have to go somewhere close by the house.
What if...I think for a few moments, then an idea pops in my mind. What if I go to MC's house? Yeah he'll understand. His house is right next to mine anyway.
I head over to my soon to be lover's house and knock on the door. He immediately opens it.
"Sayori? What's up?" MC asks me. "Can I come visit for a bit?" I give him a nervous smile. "Oh, of course, come right in." He holds the door open for me.
He can be such a gentleman. "Awesome!" I walk inside. Huh it's been a damn long time since I'v been here.
"So is everything okay?" MC puts his warm hand on my shoulder. My face heats up, his hand is very warm.
"Nothing much, my mom just made me get out of the house." I said, looking into his golden orbs.
"Oh, well you must be freezing from walking around a lot." He grabs my hand, so he could put it between his hands.
"Wha- n-no I'll be fine." I give him a awkward smile. "Well your hand is freezing. How about I make you some hot chocolate?" He asks me.
"Are you gonna put marshmallows in it?" I question. "Extra. Just how you like it." He smiles.
"Then yes!" I yell excitedly. MC walk into the kitchen to make some hot chocolate. I grip my chest, so I could calm my pounding heart.
Then I let out a big sigh. He's so nice...
There was his plain white couch sitting in the middle of his living room, so I decided to sit down.
"Hmph." I hum. I guess it would be the perfect time to send those love poems. I pull my phone out of my pocket and go to my messages.
Good thing I found a way to make myself anonymous, so Natsuki and Yuri wouldn't know it's me who's sending these.
Now which one should I send? I tap my chin a couple of times. I saved a few love poems on my phone, so I could use them. But the question is which one?
It has to have the word 'date' in it and I should text where they'll be going too. I went ahead and started with Natsuki. I opened my pictures to look for a good 'ask you out on a date' poem.
No.
No.
No!
Ah ha! This one's perfect.
I quickly send it to Natsuki, along with where to go. I decided they will be going to a restaurant, a fancy restaurant.
After sending it to Natsuki, I send the same poem to Yuri, telling her the same restaurant name.
There it's done. I put my phone away. "Hot chocolate's done!" MC comes in with two cups on a tray.
He places it on the table and then sits next to me. "Hey, uh, thank you." I blush. "Your welcome, Sayo." He smiles, then grabs his cup off of the tray.
"Let me know what you think about it." He says, taking a sip from his cup afterwards.
I nod and grab my cup off of the tray. Aww he gave me my favorite cup, It's a cup that I used every time I came over here.
There were little marshmallows in it and the best part is there are a lot of them. I take a sip of it. "Eek!" I squeak.
"What's wrong?" MC looks over at me. "It burned my tongue!" I put my hand over my mouth.
"Ah, sorry about that. I forgot to tell you it was hot." My childhood friend rubs the back of his neck.
I furrow my eyebrows a little bit. "Your good, but this hot chocolate is a meanie!" I said, trying to sound as Sayori as ever. I slap the cup.
He rolls his eyes because of my idiotic actions. "Dummy." He takes another sip. I stick my tongue out at him.
We sit in silence for a little while. The only sounds were the locust chirping outside of the house and us taking sips from our cups.
"Hey want to hear a joke?" I ask, trying to break the silence. "Sure." He said blankly.
"Okay, why did the lettuce blush?" I look at him. "Mmm why?" He plays along with me. "Because it saw the salad dressing!" I said full of energy.
He smiles a bit. "Okay that's not a bad one."
I smile back. This is complete heaven just me and MC together. "Hey, Sayo." MC says my name. He sets his cup back on the tray.
"Yeah?" I question.
He faces me and gets closer to my face. Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Is he gonna kiss me?! "MC?" He gets even closer and closer and closer...
"You have some chocolate on your lips." He uses his finger to wipe it off. I give him a flustered look. "O-Oh thanks..." dammit I thought he was going to do it, BUT no.
"Huh? Why's your face red." He points out. "Uhm, just a random flare up on my face?" I answer.
"Well okay then..." MC picks up our empty cups. "I should get back home." I get up from the couch and walk to the door.
"Mk, glad I got to see you...bye." He half smiles. "Yeah, I lo-" Holy crap that was close! "Bye, MC." He goes to the kitchen and I leave his house.
