Chapter 29: "Height"

Funtime Freddy's P.O.V

"C'mon! No need to take your time eating Wheat Thins!" exclaimed Helpy impatiently. "This is as fast as I can eat!" exclaimed Bonnie annoyed while still trying to eat his food out of the bowl he was holding. "Even I can eat faster than you, and I'm sure everyone else can. Not like you're going to choke on your food, especially since you got a million others ways to die that can happen at any minute," expressed Helpy. "You do eat as slow as a turtle, and I don't even need to own to prove that fact since I got a cousin who eats like one," noted Springbonnie to Bonnie. "I can't catch a moment of peace with Springbonnie around," said Bonnie as he turned to Helpy. "Especially you." "Just pointing out the obvious, because someone won't unless I do it myself. Besides better me than Bon Bon," responded Helpy. "Fair point," responded Bonnie continuing to eat his snacks. "Wait. Can we choke on our own food?" asked Springbonnie. "I don't know. I never intentionally tried to choke on my own food nor would I ever try to test that. Not sure you really want to go ahead and do that, just seems stupid and risky. If! We can choke on our food," said Helpy.

"We probably could," I said chiming in on the conversation. "I mean, we do a lot of things humans can. Though we can't die from things like heart failure or anything involving our organs, as we obviously don't have any. Even our circuits or parts inside us won't be capable of killing us, just preventing us from performing normal functions and blocking some of our systems from performing as well as they should."

"Indeed. If food or water doesn't go down the esophagus properly and gets stuck in the trachea by the epiglottis and not close properly that can cause people to choke on their own food, which can be done by eating or drinking too fast," added in Duality. "I feel like I'm the only one here who didn't understand what he was talking about," said Bonnie. "Nah, you're good cousin I didn't understand anything he said either. Just sounded like mumbo jumbo to me," said Springbonnie. "And I'm going to be honest here, pretty sure I'm the only one who understand what all those terms meant," I said. "Ah at least you don't ever have to bother remembering all that information with countless hours of study time and tests at school or college. In fact you're lucky for that gift," pointed out Helpy. "Never considered it that way, but thanks anyways," I responded back as I noticed Bonnie was done eating now while he laid his bowl on the ground now. "Alright, let's get started. Everyone line up like usual."

Everyone did as I instructed and lined up, as I got up from the chair in front of the desk with the computer on top of it. "The next lesson will involve something else this time around in terms of attacks or defensive abilities, but rather a tool that, at surface level, may seem useless and instead when used properly can become a great asset," I stated. "Springbonnie, you preformed a move early that did prove effective and creative. However, your move still could've been prevented and being in the air made you vulnerable, even if it seemed that the enemy couldn't reach you. Not unless you had knowledge of this tool." "Huh? Oh! I think I know what you're talking about!" expressed Springbonnie seeming like she deduced the tool I was referring to, as least it seemed like she knew. Though to be honest it wasn't that hard to figure out, especially after I had mentioned her move she pulled earlier. "What? No no way you can figure out something like that so fast," said Helpy unconvinced. "It's involves being able to jump higher isn't it?" continued Springbonnie. "That's a stretch, and possibly the most useless thing I've heard," responded Helpy. "Indeed she is right. I'm going to be teaching all of you an ability that allows you to jump higher," I said confirming Springbonnie's guess. "Ok, I continue to be proven wrong again-and-again," responded Helpy admitting his mistake. "Though I really don't see the need for being able to jump higher, and considering I didn't know that was an ability in the first place." "You're not the only who didn't know this was an ability. Though remember, you can turn something seemingly useless and give it functionality or a use," I responded. "For one: You'll be able reach greater heights if needed, allowing to reach places you normally wouldn't be able to reach or would take other methods that aren't as effective. Jumping over an enemy to avoid an attack will save your life or another depending on the situation. There are many possibilities with an ability that may seem useless at first but can still work depending on the situation or need for it." "Damn thing better be worth our time or you've spent time on something useless," said Helpy still in some doubt. "I can assure you this is worth everyone's time," I said back. "Now! I'm going to do a demonstration for all of you."

I lowered my legs slightly to the position that would give me the power to make a successful jump, as I got myself ready to make the jump. Finally the stance of my legs lowered changed as they lifted up quickly, shooting me off the ground as I kept my attention at the ceiling in case I went too high. Once my height reached the maximum height I had managed to reach I looked down as started to fall back on the ground. Once my feet made contact back on the hard floor of the garage I lowered my legs on impact to minimize the fall, allowing me to land without worry.

"Now that's impressive!" exclaimed Springbonnie. "It really is," said Bonnie in agreement. "Alright, you've convinced me," said Helpy. "Glad to hear," I said in response with a smile. "Alright, I want all of you to lower your legs to be in an almost squatting position and extend them out about."

Everyone did as I asked, lowering themselves in the proper position. At least to the best of their attempts. Most of everyone here wasn't doing a very good job, but that was to be expected when doing this for the first time. I walked over to everyone as they held their positions, waiting and probably expecting me to comment on if their stance were right or not. "Lower Charlie," I said standing in front of her. She did as I asked as she lowered herself a little more, finally being in the right position to perform the jump. "Good stance Bonnie," I said walking past him. "A little too low," I said to Springbonnie. "Like this?" she responded elevating her stance now. "Too high now," I responded as she readjusted herself and finally got in the proper stance. "Better," I said making my way to Helpy. "You've barely squatted down and you haven't extended your legs out," I said noting his position. "How times do I have to explain that my height affects what I can and can't do, huh? I can't do everything like most of you, what's so hard to understand?" responded Helpy. "I understand the situation perfectly. The problem is you feel like your size limits what you can do and aren't putting in the effort to continue because of it. You need to realize your size doesn't limit everything you can do and even if it does have drawbacks it makes up for it with what you can do that no one else has," I responded. "Now lower yourself."

Helpy grunted in response as he lowered himself, if you could even say he did as he barely went half an inch down. "Lower," I said expressing in my tone for him to do better. "Yeah, yeah!" he responded immediately finally lowering himself to an acceptable position. "Good. Make sure to keep that stance," I said walking past him now. "A little too high there," I said reaching Michael as he did as I asked and raised himself to a good stance. "Good," I said walking past him. "Good position Foxy," I said stopping in front of her. "Alright," I said making my way back towards the desk. "Now! I want all of you to spring upwards when I give the word; think of it as a frog leaping upwards." "I don't think any of us agreed to imitate frogs here," noted Bonnie. "That was just to explain how the situation would go if you successfully make yourselves jump," I responded. "Before you launch yourselves concentrate all your energy and power to increase your height, direct all your power into your legs and ensure you are able to hold that power in your current stance. Having no control over that power will either decrease the height, or possibly increase it and cause you to hit your head on the ceiling. Fortunately and unfortunately that hasn't happened. Yet... " "Mind explaining what adding 'fortunately' and 'unfortunately' means?" asked Helpy. "That means it's good that scenario hasn't happened, and that's bad because it could, and probably will, happen at some point to anyone of us," I responded. "Ah, like it could actually happen. Maybe we'll be lucky enough that it won't happen at all," added in Springbonnie. "Luck has never been on our side so why would it change now?" asked Bonnie. "I don't know? Maybe because we never asked?" she responded. "You know, I would love to live in your mind for a day so everything can be easy as you make it out to be," responded Bonnie. "Ah, knowing you cousin you would regret immediately," responded Springbonnie. "Alright, I should also mention it is important to be able to land on your feet and control the speed you'll drop down from to land properly, without breaking a leg," I asked. "How hard can that be?" said Bonnie shrugging. "You're about to find out," I responded. "Alright, everyone ready?" "Ready!" responded Foxy ready to start. "We're all ready," said Michael speaking for everyone. "Yes, alright, can we please start already! Less talk more doing something that doesn't involve me being in this position for more than a minute," said Helpy complaining. "Jesus, the more you talk the more you remind me of the old me. And listening to the old me makes me glad I'm trying to change for the better," said Bonnie. "It's a shame it didn't happen sooner, especially when I made it obvious your attitude couldn't be tolerated to some people," said Mangle jokingly. "Better late than never," responded Bonnie. "Alright! Starting in three... two... one... go!" I said prepping them before giving the all-clear for them to go. Everyone launched themselves once the word was given, allowing me to judge and see what height they would reach.

Michael made a decent amount of progress, seeming to reach a quarter of the height for reaching the ceiling which was good progress but standard regardless.

Charlie caught my eye immediately due to her jumping and reaching the half point for reaching the ceiling, which was impressive and worthy of be commended for.

Helpy had managed to jump a couple feet in the air, though not much. Still it was better than nothing.

Bonnie had reached a decent amount of height that was closes to Michael's, which still was acceptable.

Springbonnie had also seemed to reach the same height as Bonnie, at least it seemed that way. Still, it was progress that was good enough for a first time.

Foxy, unfortunately, only jumped normally as her powers weren't being diverted into her jump and allowed her to reach a normal couple feet and land down immediately back on the ground.

Now it came to the part that involved everyone landing back on the ground and praying someone didn't break their legs while they were at it.

Michael was successful on controlling his momentum and landed gently on the ground at once.

Charlie looked to have trouble controlling her momentum and eventually when she landed on the ground she came close to stumbling, though she was able to stop herself.

Helpy immediately fell down and attempted to control his momentum by flailing his arms and legs to ease the impact he would have, considering it was going to happen. Fortunately, he turned his stomach to face the ground at the last second and landed straight on it, and the groans coming after expressed probably the amount of pain he had felt.

Bonnie seemed to have a little trouble controlling the speed of his fall, though once he was about to hit the floor he rolled once he made contact with the floor to avoid injuring himself. A nice save and alternative to breaking your legs.

Springbonnie's momentum was a little fast but it seemed to be intentional since she was not attempting to control her speed. Once she approaching the floor she did a front flip before touching the ground and successfully land on her feet. I had to admit that impressive and pretty cool.

Everyone had made their attempts and now it came to judging everyone for how they and what needed to be improved upon. I also had the task of helping my girlfriend with her training as well.

"Oh god. First my back, now this," groaned Helpy slowing getting up. "We can always put you in a wheelchair," suggested Springbonnie. "I'll know when I'm disabled because we will never be since we can always repair ourselves," responded Helpy up on his feet now. "Alright Duality. I want you to measure everyone's height they reached and calculate the results for who made the highest jump to the lowest," I commanded. "On it," responded Duality. "You're getting our results?" asked Michael. "Yep! I'll have accurate results and numbers to how high everyone went," I said confirming his question. The sight of seeing Foxy and her looking bothered for not being able to successfully pull off her jump made me feel bad her. It wasn't because she had failed performing the jump, but due to the feeling of her being bothered by her failure was hard to witness.

"Results are done," said Duality grabbing my attention back to what I was doing before. "According to the statistics Charlie jumped higher than everyone else, while Michael was second, Bonnie third, Springbonnie fourth, Helpy fifth, and Funtime Foxy... last." "How about all of you come over here and Duality will shows the exact numbers for how high everyone made it. I'm going to assist Foxy," I instructed. Everyone did as they were told, no one protesting since they knew this was so I could help out Foxy. I made my way over to her as she looked up to the sight of me, showing that guilt for not being able to perform the move.

"Foxy, do you know why you weren't able to perform the jump?" I asked. "I don't know why," she responded looking back down at the ground. "I tried as best as I could and nothing happened. This is the second time I've needed your help already." "It's alright, you're not always going to get something right the first time and there's harm in asking for help when necessary," I responded. "Let's try again, alright?" Foxy looked up after a moment and slowly got into the position to perform the jump. "The form looks good. The problem is concentration and being able to successfully control the power being transferred to your legs when the jump is made," I explained. "I try to use all my concentration but it's never enough," she responded. "Then you must focus on something that gives you strength, something you can concentrate on and never lose focus off," I suggested. "You mean just like when we were seeing the power inside of us?" she asked. "Yep. Concentration is vital to keep the Resurrection Power in check to not lose control of it and to even succeed with it. It's what powers the power itself in a way," I explained. "Find something to concentrate on, perhaps the thing that helped you on our first lesson we did." "Alright, I'll use it," she responded. "You ready then?" I asked. "Ready," she responded as her tone was more confident now, which was a good sign. "Go!" I exclaimed immediately. Seeing the sight of her jump high and finally perform the jump put a smile on my face, especially seeing her smile from her own success. What made the smile on my face get just a little wider was the amount of height she got, which seemed to match Bonnie's height from the look of it. Finally, once she started to fall back down to the ground she diverted her energy into controlling her fall. She made contact on the ground and was able to successfully control her momentum for the most part, though she stumbled a little once she was on the ground.

"So Duality? What place is Foxy in now?" I asked. "She has over taken Bonnie and is now in third place," he responded. "Oh and that means you're in last place. Man that is a shame. Ah, but at least you can always change that," said Springbonnie looking at Helpy. "Way to rub it in," said Bonnie judging her. "Eh, not like going we're going competitive for results because I ain't trying to go all out," responded Helpy not really caring. "If Foxy can get out of last place I probably can. That depends though with my stomach and my back." "You did good," I said to Foxy now. "Yeah. True... But I needed your help to accomplish the jump," she responded. "That does not matter. What does matter is the fact that you were able to accomplish that jump. That's still a win in my book," I responded placing my hand on her shoulder. "You don't always accomplish things or reach heights by yourself. It's those who support you all the way and are at your side that you're able to stand triumphantly over any obstacle. I'm at your side all the way, just as you are with me."
