Chapter 71: Rejoice In Our World
Michael Afton's P.O.V
1983
Night 5
I wasn't surprised to hear my phone buzzing right when I hit the button for the elevator to go down, as I grabbed it out of my pocket and flipped it open. "Hello," I answered rubbing my eyes. "Hello Michael. I am delighted to inform you that my discoveries have pieced together my predictions into reality. There is a source and disturbance linked together with these recent events," said my dad. "Michael? Michael. Michael!" "What? Yeah. I hear you," I responded in a low energetic tone. "Is everything alright? You sound abnormal than usual," said my dad. "I couldn't sleep last night. I just can't get any god damn sleep. Not with all these thoughts that keep lingering in the back of my head. I feel I can visually see them in my dreams. Like they're in our reality," I said. "What. Kind of dreams?" asked my dad. "Blood. Murder. All those animatronics drowning me in my own pool of blood. All while they laugh and see me perish," I explained. "And all I think about is what if they make me one of them." "Interesting. Going back to the primary focus at hand, it seems indeed an outside source has been entering the systems. And it traces back to one thing. One animatronic," said my dad. "Circus Baby." "I should've guessed sooner," I responded yawning. "Indeed. Which is why it is your job to check up on everything here one last time. I have decided it is best to seal this place and any other loose memories to store away after tonight," said my dad. "This part of the past will remain touched and will be disposed of. Properly." "So that's it? What about the animatronics and Hand Unit?" I asked. "Hand Unit is a necessary thing to sacrifice. And I'm sure Henry wouldn't mind either losing a creation he took part in. As for the animatronics, I've already sent Jim and Jerry to destroy all of them. They should be down there finishing things up," said my dad. "I don't know. If Baby was smart enough to enter the system, she could control all the systems and machinery of this place," I responded. "Then you'll take the precautions needed and deal with her personally. Won't you?" asked my dad. I didn't respond. I didn't feel I had the need to. "Won't you? Michael." "Of course," I responded softly. "Good. I will see you then. I have bigger plans that Freddy Fazbear's Pizza will endure. Just the task for you," said my dad. "I'll see you. So-" The phone cut off immediately; as I stared at it while questioning the cause of the problem. "Dammit. Too deep underground," I said looking up and putting the phone back in my pocket. "Welcome back to your last day on the job. That is, the last day of your first week," said Hand Unit out of nowhere. "Some of the most valued qualities that we like to see in new employees are determination, fearlessness, and a genuine disregard for instinctive self-preservation. You've earned your one-week bonus which will be given to you in the form of a delightful gift basket, the cost of which will be taken out of your next paycheck. We've gift baskets containing fruit, nuts, flowers and of course, the ever-popular cash basket." The keypad opened on the side as I walked over to it, even though I knew it wasn't going to work properly. As usual. "Using the keypad below, please enter the first few letters of the gift basket you would like to receive," said Hand Unit. "Not going to matter when this place is going to be closed off for good. Especially when this damn keypad is flawed," I said pressing the later 'E'. Of course, the only thing I got in return was the screen showing "error" across. "It seems you had some trouble with the keypad. I see what you were trying to type and I will auto-correct it for you," said Hand Unit. "Thank you for selecting... Exotic Butters." "Not the worst thing I've gotten from this stupid keypad," I said as the keypad retracted back into it's spot. "Just be aware there are still two technicians on-site today. Try to avoid interfering with their work if possible. Also, feel free to ask them why they are still there and encourage them to go home," said Hand Unit. The loud buzz alarmed me that I was at my destination as the elevator stopped. That cheery and carnival music played right through my interpretation of this place, as if it seemed it was here only to ease the pain of this place it passed on to anyone that stepped afoot in here. And I was glad I only listened to it to understand the evil it buried, only to not cover. I pressed the red button to open the doors as they slid open, revealing the evil domain and lair of these animatronics. One last time to mark and finish these tampered memories. I walked in and got on my hands and knees to enter the vent, being the only brave one to enter in this secluded nightmare. 'There has to be a way to see if I can get Elizabeth out of this. If Circus Baby is telling the truth,' I thought as I made my way through the vent. 'Though she didn't know me. Unless she was 'pretending' as she puts it.' "Motion trigger: Entry-way vent," said the defense system. 'That's odd. Its never been active for this vent,' I thought to myself as I crawled out of the vent and into the main room. "Let's check on Ballora and make sure she's on her stage," said Hand Unit immediately. 'Why is there a need to? She was... Scooped the last time I saw her,' I thought as I walked over to the control panel on the left and pressed the blue button for the light. Only to reveal what the aftermath of those who dared roamed this place as their own. Hanging above Ballora's stage was a body. I couldn't tell if it was either Jerry or Jim, but knowing who it was didn't matter to me enough and add on the feeling of passing out. "Great. Now let's check on Funtime Foxy," said Hand Unit as I laid my hand against the window for Ballora Gallery, while I held my chest to keep myself breathing and recover from that incident. After about a minute, I forced myself to walked over to the right panel as I slowly moved my hand towards it. Not only was I hesitant, but the everlasting movement of my shaking didn't ease my fear. Finally, I forced myself to press the button for the light in hopes of easing my fear. Only it grasped onto me to make it feel like it was crushing all ease and calmness in me. Hanging above on Funtime Foxy's stage was another dead body. Who it was didn't matter at this point. Jim and Jerry were both dead. Who was responsible wasn't clear. But I knew Baby had some knowledge of it. "Great! It looks like everything is as it should be in Funtime Auditorium. Your task today will involve more maintenance work. Circus Baby had a rough day and is in need of repair. You will be required to reach the Parts and Service Room by once again sneaking through Funtime Auditorium. As always please, proceed with caution," said Hand Unit as the vent for her room opened. I laid my hand against the glass window for Funtime Auditorium, trying to relax myself once more and relieve myself of this stress and uneasy feelings. "Dammit. Calm down. Just calm down," I said to myself. "Jerry. Jim. God dammit. Why did they have to suffer? Why do their wive's and children have to now live without them?" After about a couple minutes I finally got up and paced around, deciding if I was ready to depart. "Dammit. Ok. Ok, ok. Baby is in need of repairs. I should be able to get answers from her easily. All I have to do is get past Funtime Foxy and I'm good," I said to myself. "Wait! Nooo!" I patted both of my pockets, only to feel nothing but the flash beacon in my left pocket. "No, dammit! I forgot to bring the flashlight again! All I have is this stupid flash beacon from the night before!" I exclaimed slapping my hand on the window. "I could've made this easier but no! I had to be extremely tired because of last night!" I stopped for a second to look at the top of the entrance; that weird clown mask was missing now. "Something is off. Why would someone bother to claim an old animatronics mask?" I asked myself. "It must be something that involves Baby. Who else would be responsible." I crawled through the vent door to enter the dark room that felt like an empty void with nothing in it but me. Oddly me. I felt. Alone. No sounds from anything except my low breathing. "Funtime Auditorium Maintenance Vent opened," said the defense system as I entered in. I activated my flash beacon, revealing nothing but the maintenance door at the end. I walked slowly while listening for anything around me; there was nothing. Not even a shuffle or tiny sound of something touching the floor. Besides me of course. 'Is Funtime Foxy not in here?' I thought as I activated my flash beacon again. Nothing. Only me and the little bit of sanity not intoxicated by this place. 'Guess I'm going to risk it,' I thought as I darted across the room. In a couple of seconds I was at the door as I stopped to listen for anything. Still nothing. Not even the shadows dared to move. I opened the door as I walked, closing the door behind. "Motion trigger: Parts and Service," said the defense system as I entered in. Sitting on the conveyor belt was Circus Baby, sitting as if she was lifeless. But deep inside me I knew the little girl in her was only playing innocent and dead. "Great job reaching Parts and Service," said Hand Unit. "Circus Baby has been deactivated for an unknown reason. It's your job to make sure she is structurally stable and secure to the conveyor. Our technicians will take it from there-" There was the sound of static that cut off Hand Unit, presenting me with only silence now. "What the hell?" I asked myself aloud. "Can you hear me? I'm pretending. Remember how I said I could pretend?" said Baby out of nowhere. "The cameras are watching. I must be careful not to move. Something bad happened yesterday. Something bad always happens... I don't want it to happen again. There is something bad. Inside of me. I'm broken... I can't be fixed. I'm going to be taken to the Scooping Room soon but it's not going to fix what's wrong with me. What is bad is always left behind. Will you help me?" "How? How could I with everything that has happened. All because of you. You kidnapped me! You're the one responsible with the horrors of this place!" I said in response. "At least this place still reminds of myself. Me being human." I rolled up my right sleeve as tore off some of the skin, revealing the purple skin underneath it. "You know how I got this? How I became this? All because of my dad. Half of the insides of me were replaced by mechanical parts and this purple skin that makes me look like a freak," I said. "At least I still have feelings and a heart to keep me going. But also the thought that I know Elizabeth is trapped inside of you. Whatever you are." "I only want to help you. Is that something I can't offer?" responded Baby. "That's not the problem. What it involves is you. I feel like I don't know the real you," I responded. "You still listen to his words? To William's? Do you really blind yourself with me rather than him? After what he has done to you?" asked Baby. "I see now. You're alone. No one is there for you to rely on except yourself. You're broken just like me. But you have something to at least temporally fix you. Someone. Elizabeth." "And yet, I still don't know if you're telling the truth," I responded. "What if this whole time you've been talking to her?" she asked. "How do I know if you really are her?" I asked. "Could you forget that one time when we were younger? At the park. You watching over me since Dad had to attend our mom for work purposes. You pushing the swings and making me feel like I was an airplane. High above the ground to travel the wonders of the world. All while we both laughed in excitement. And how could I fail to mention those group of teenagers that tried harassing you and me and attempted to rob us, while you stood up to them. Triumphing over their useless knifes and defending me the best you could before a police officer was luckily around," she said. "I can't forget the glory of shock Dad was in to hear about the occurrence. And our mom in tears over our safety and your will to protect me. Susan was indeed a caring mother to be bestowed upon." "I-I can't. I can't believe it," I said trying to get my words outs. "It's. It's you!" "I have always been here in a way. After all, our father designed Circus Baby after me," responded Elizabeth. "I thought I lost everything after you... were killed. The last bit of hope and happiness I had. All that to keep me from losing myself," I responded. "Michael. We can get out of here. Together. I know your desire to kill Dad is eternal unless we put it to rest. But first I need your assistance. Your trust. Can we share the bond we once had once more?" said Elizabeth. I looked at the ground, unsure of how to respond. "You promise me. That when we both escape this place, that the first thing we'll do is kill him? William," I asked. "I will. If it means destroying the name he gave to our title," she responded. "All I want you to do is save what is good so the rest can be destroyed and never recovered. But you must be careful; Ballora is here in the room with us. Ballora will not return to her stage. Ballora will not return to her body. You must be careful. You must remain calm and listen to my voice," said Elizabeth. "What are you talking about?" I asked looking around. "Focus on the safety and value of your life. She is listening. They are listening," she responded. "There is a button on my cheek. You must find it, and press it." I noticed there was a tiny button above her right cheek to the left of me as I walked over to it and pressed it. A tiny portion of the right side under her hair opened to reveal a keypad, something I didn't know animatronics had in them. Especially her. "There is a pass-code that you must enter before you can retrieve me. Enter the code carefully..." said Elizabeth as I got my right hand ready to enter in the code.
"Seven."
"One."
"Seven."
"Four."
"Four."
"Five."
"Seven."
"Two."
"Nine."
"Three."
Each number she gave I carefully and quickly entered in. I felt like I was being watched at every single second. But all I could see around me was darkness and wires. Yet, the wires behind Baby seemed to move in an unorthodox pattern. Something only a person or thing could move to create such a pattern. "Good. A hatch should have opened. Take the card that you find inside," said Elizabeth as I finished typing in the code. I looked around as I noticed above her right arm that part of her wires were exposed as I could see a card being only visible due to the two green lights at both ends. I grabbed it as I held it, looking at the only piece of hope left for me. Only, it felt more viable than anything else I could ask for. "Now, you must turn back. I will guide you through Funtime Auditorium so you can reach the Scooping Room. When you are there, I want you to destroy this body. Put the card into your handheld device and I can continue to speak to you," said Baby. "Wait. You said your soul merged with Baby. Wouldn't that mean you're stuck inside the suit?" I asked. "No. My soul is stuck inside this device. I may not have a body but I will be here none other the less," she responded. "Then this should help you," I said taking out a walkie talkie and inserting the chip in it. "Good. Now press the green button to your left. This will send me to the Scooping Room," she spoke through the walkie talkie. I looked around as I finally found the button to the bottom left of the conveyor belt, activating it immediately. The machine started as the suit drifted off away to be destroyed, along with those memories infected by the past. Yet, I felt the evil in that suit it carried with was now in my hands. My hands to keep that infectious feeling and let it become one with me. "You must follow my instructions in Funtime Auditorium. Ballora is going to follow you. She will try to catch you. I will help you avoid her. She will not follow you in the Scooping Room. She is afraid. Go back, now," she said. "Alright. Alright, ok," I said as I turn around and exited the room, and back into the darkness. "Is it best if I use my flash beacon?" I asked her. "No. It will only attract him towards you; leading to your death. I will be your guide. Just listen carefully to my instructions and we will get of this. Together," she responded. "Go forward." I followed her instructions with true intent as I walked in the darkness. Though this time I was not alone. Some liquid was on the floor due to the squeaking of my shoes touching it. Most likely giving away my presence. "What's on the floor?" I asked softly. "Stop," said Elizabeth as I halted myself. I thought listening to only my thoughts and the shuffles of something near me. Something was off about this. About her. How could a soul get trapped in such a small device? Getting trapped in a suit seemed more likely. Dad did say he had a theory that spirits could get trapped in certain things. Objects like an animatronic. But it was just a theory. Or it was reality.
"Go forward and left."
I ignored her voice, and I sat thinking if this was really Elizabeth. Or of this was only Circus Baby. Maybe Elizabeth was just another memory, only one that had been tampered with in her name by Circus Baby.
"Michael."
She was now just a memory. A tampered one that will never be cleansed.
Unless undone by my hands.
Without any thought I ran through Funtime Auditorium as I activated my flash beacon, showing a door nearby as I quickly ran in and closed the door behind me. "Access Granted," said the defense system as I walked in the room. It was an office for the security guard. There was a monitor on the desk with three screens covered in static, a Fredbear plushie holding a walkie talkie, and a fan that was on the left. On both sides of me were two open entrances along with two buttons, and a vent above me with a button to the left of it. I also noticed there was a keypad nearby for some odd reason, though that was the least of the questions I had. "It seems that you have accidentally wandered into a restricted area. Due to the sensitive nature of the materials that you may be exposed to here, you will not be allowed to leave until the clean-up crew arrives at 6 A.M," said Hand Unit. "So hang tight. Rest assured that you will be promptly rescued, fired, then sent home. Thank you for being an employee. We hope that your experience has not been as regrettable as ours." What!" I said as I grabbed the door handle, only for it to not turn. "Dammit! I'm stuck here!" I exclaimed. I looked back at the monitor as I walked back to it and grabbed it, opening it to see what visibility I had on this place that was kept away from me. There was about seven cameras active; two were outside the room, one was in the vents and the rest in different parts of this section of the place. "Why the hell would they construct other rooms and have cameras in here besides the other parts of this place?" I asked myself. Suddenly, I heard something down the hall to the left as I hit the button for camera four. What was revealed seemed to me to be only an abomination of all the animatronics of this place. In the room was an animatronic all made up of wires, and the only part of him that distinguished him as an animatronic was the clown mask that had been previously been hanging in the main room. "Why didn't you trust me?" asked Baby. "Why? I should've known it was not possible for her to be here and stuck inside that device. You're not Elizabeth. You're just someone who pretends to be her," I responded as checked the camera again. This thing still hadn't moved at all, it only sat staring at the camera that watched back. "I'm still not alone. But this time. I prefer to be with myself instead of you and Baby," I said to myself. "All I have is myself and the time remaining to strike whenever for my fate."
Minutes felt like hours in this place always, but this time they seemed to draw further away from going down and only sat still. Only once in the last half hour this thing had moved from its spot to the back of this area.
"Why didn't you believe me?"
The voice of Baby seemed to not even bother and go through my ears. She was nothing now. Nothing but another bad memory. Something that deserved to stay buried here with everything else. That animatronic was somehow in the vent now; he wasn't too close but still at a distance to force myself to observe him. My power was already at eight-nine percent, which was concerning because I had to spare it as much as possible. "Ok. If it gets closer to the end of the vent I'll close it," I said to myself.
For almost half an hour I watched the draining slow time and the limited movements of this animatronic. My brain went on full alert as I noticed this thing was at the end of the vent, forcing me to quickly hit the button for the vent door to close on him.
"Sometimes I don't understand why people do the things that they do."
I continued to ignore Baby's voice; hear words that seemed to me to only be bickering. There was no reason or justification to listen to her false and mislead ways. The clock on the monitor changed to one as I knew I was one step closer to getting out of this hell.
And the animatronic once again used this time exactly to enact its plan to catch me.
About ten minutes after one, that animatronic moved out of the vents and back into one of the rooms on camera six. Thankfully, this gave me the chance to open the door for the vent and focus on this animatronic profoundly without the constant urge of it striking any time soon. For the moment.
"I thought you liked me."
More words to block out with little meaning to me. I did like her, until I found out what was buried inside her. Someone who puts on an act to get the attention and focus of others for themselves. The sound of the animatronic getting closer made me check the cameras to see him at camera three, in which it was a small room with nothing but wires and pipes. This whole section of the place seemed to be useless; vacant I would go far to establish a clear definition for it. The only thing that held purpose to this place was this animatronic who seemed to roam this part of the underground place in his name.
"I thought I did everything right."
More words that seemed to merely intend to restring my senses and attention. But my full attention was on this animatronic and my survival. The animatronic had moved down to camera one, right outside the security room. I couldn't see it outside, but I didn't need to have eyes to hear the weird scraping noises from outside to the left of me. Minutes passed and the first sight of him facing the doorway to the left of me on the camera gave me enough time to instantly press the button to the left of me, as the door closed on him. "Thank god I remember Dad telling me how these prototype automated doors worked here," I said to myself.
"We need you so that we can leave."
These set of words now seemed apparent to me that she wanted to leave. Baby and this thing. Maybe all the animatronics wanted to leave. But why?
"We need you so that we can hide."
The clock changing to two only made me anxious on how much time was left. Four hours. Four god damn long hours left. And all I felt was time seemed only eternal when it wanted to be, and when it felt like going at a slow pace. The animatronic moved back to camera six as I continued to monitor him frequently. My power was at sixty-five percent. With some quick estimating I knew I was good on power for the moment. Though I wasn't sure if the power would suffice towards the end of the night. If I lost all my power before six, then I would be defenseless. And once again this thing was in the vents, trying to get to me. Trying to drain all the power I had left to hold onto.
"If they find us like this, we won't be able to try again. You must help us. You must let us inside the room."
I continued to block out Baby's words as I watched this thing to see if it would move. After about fifteen minutes, the thing was once again at the vent entrance as I closed the door on it.
"Isn't this why you came here? To be with her again?"
"That was before I knew you were lying. She's gone," I responded as I looked to see the animatronic clown at camera seven.
"You don't understand."
The constant words of Baby seemed to be the only thing that sped up the time withering away slowly. Enough to fill in the blank time and space during the time between that animatronic changing spots. This thing was tactile. Smart. Who knows how intelligent this thing is and what else its capable of.
Paying attention to the time swapping to three almost made be forget about that animatronic as I turned to camera two to see him standing near the right door. I'll admit, I was having some trouble staying awake due to the lack of sleep. Also, this was probably the latest I had stayed up in my life. I know I had been up late before because of college and Dad's work, but this was an extent I had never imagined to be at. After minutes had passed by, the animatronic moved in front of my door as I closed it immediately.
"You won't die. And it will only hurt for a moment."
"And this will for you," I responded yanking the chip out of the walkie talkie and putting it in my pocket. Looking at that animatronic closer looked all creepy and weird. I couldn't tell what it was. Baby mentioned it was Ballora, but it did not look like her. This was something else. Something also forgotten.
It was four and it was also the time for the animatronic to reformulate a course of action as I opened the door. Less then two hours and it would all be over. Hopefully. Now this thing was back in the vents as I waited for it to meet the only person that could prevent it from leaving this place. The power was at about thirty-seven percent, but my luck could change at any moment. This thing had drain my power drastically in the last hour, enough to end me blind in the darkness. With this, you need things more reliable than luck. The animatronic was now coming back through the vents; this thing was aggravated and I was fueling its rage. After about a couple minutes he showed back up near the vent door as I shut it on him. Now it was just an endless cycle of his attacks to either come from the right, the left, or the middle. Three ways to end me with one swift move into the office. Half an hour and finally the animatronic decided to leave the vent and move over to one of the small rooms on camera three. He was moving around quickly without me noticing, due to me checking the spot he was at ten minutes later, only to be gone once more. Though, finding him outside my office because of camera one made me wish he stayed back in his previous spot. I would've preferred in general if he didn't go after me in the first place. I wish this whole event didn't occur at all. But regretting the past and dreaming about it never happening is a fools typical pain to sleep with each night. Another press of the button and closing of the left door made me just want to close every entrance in here. Though that would just be me asking for a quick death.
Exactly five and the end of my suffering given by this place would now evaporate when the clock would strike six. The animatronic had finally left after a couple minutes after it had turned five, as I opened the door now. The percentage of the power was at about eighteen percent; a number that was dwindling faster than my confidence to escape alive. Minutes later this thing had moved all the way to the right door, as I closed the door on him at the first sight of him staring into the room. I was now anxious to get out of here, for this place had continued to try and consume my will and me to escape. I was hoping my dad would've at least showed up here since I was unaccounted for once more, though I already knew he didn't care for me. The only use I had towards him was to use me as his puppet.
Just as he intended me to be.
Just like the animatronic.
Only, the animatronics here had the courage to overwrite its programming and resist my dad's influence.
Something I knew I couldn't do.
Not without someone like me.
Once again, this animatronic had move from the right side of the door and back down some parts of the right side of this place. He was going for the vents again. Except, this time his aggression was his way of breaching my defenses. Minutes passed by as it made its way over to the vents, which felt shorter due to the amount of time it took for him to reach the vent entrance before I closed the vent door on him. And his only suitable option was to try again. "Five percent. Don't waste it. It's almost over," I said to myself. Once again, it returned as I closed the vent door on him as I waited. But minutes passed by and it did not retreat back towards defeat. It was not accepting defeat. "No. No, no, no! Leave dammit!" I exclaimed. All I could do now was wait for it to crawl back into the place that was a prison to it, and watch the power diminish to zero. Each minute passed and each time the power dropped, I felt my heart clinch on my hope as a last resort of survival. That was all I had to see a perfect outcome. One percent was left and that damn animatronic was still at the vent door. All I could do now was rely on hope, and hopefully salvation for my destiny to end my father. I knew there was one thing I would regret not getting accomplished if I perished; not being able to end my father for good, or restore balance and tension for the company. For Mom. And for Elizabeth. But it seemed there was enough salvation to accomplish something when the time was right. The clock on the monitor changed to six as I could do nothing else but smile, while I quickly ran over to the door and turned the door knob. The sound of the door creaking opening made me almost shout in joy as I could finally escape now. "It's over. It's all over. I can leave," I said to myself.
"I will find a way out. We already have."
I turned to my left pocket as I grabbed the chip out of it and held it in the palm of my hand. It was active. But there was no possible way it could be. Suddenly, the power went off inside the security room, giving me no other option but to run back into the darkness. I paced down a little, just so I could feel my bearings and not bump into anything. I didn't want to activate my flash beacon, as it would only alert my position to that thing. I had to rely on my sense of touch. I felt a wall in front of me as I moved over slowly to both sides and underneath; feeling it to find the vent out of here, or any means of escape. This animatronic and Baby were both restless to catch me, desperate it seemed liked. Finally, I felt a hatch below me as I opened it and crawled in, expecting the main area. Only it wasn't that, it was a graveyard; a place to destroy tampered and bad memories. "Warning, you've entered a highly dangerous area. You have entered from Maintenance hatch 1B, reserved for cleaning and repair of the Scooper. Entering this side of the room is strictly prohibited by unauthorized personnel-" tried to warn Hand Unit as he was cut off with static. "What the fuck," I said looking around. All around and scattered across the floor were the remains and destroyed parts of Funtime Foxy, Funtime Freddy, Ballora, and Bon Bon. And in the middle of the room that was attached to the wall was a giant claw; it was the so called 'Scooper' that was mentioned. "You are in the Scooping Room now. Funtime Foxy has already been here today. Funtime Freddy has already been here today. Ballora has already been here today. Circus Baby has already been here today," said Baby's chip. From behind the window that animatronic appeared from the darkness behind it, waiting to watch my demise. "If it wasn't for daddy, we wouldn't have gotten here. We wouldn't have gotten this far. The chance to be free. Our dad always was a very clever being. Don't your agree?" said the voice. "What! He was apart of this?!?" I exclaimed. I knew I was fooled more than any other experience in my life. More than any other lie I pledged my trust in. And Elizabeth. She was still here. "I've been out before but they always put me back. They always put us back inside. There's nowhere for us to hide here. There is nowhere to go. When we look like this..." said Elizabeth. "But if we looked like you. Then we could hide. If we looked like you, then we would have somewhere to go. The Scooper only hurts for a moment." "Elizabeth. Once this is over. When I escape this torture. I'll go home. I'll see mom again. But I know you and Dad will both burn in hell. You're not family anymore. You're outsiders," I said. "You're nothing to me anymore. You're just another bad memory." The alarm in the room blared and drowned in my ears as the Scooper extended right in my chest, leaving nothing but pain and darkness behind.
Nothing but a memory stained in my mind.
"Were there any. Complications? Michael."
"No. Nothing at all. Everything went well," I responded. "Good. I'll head on over with Henry tomorrow and clear anything valuable at the underground location before we lock the place for good. I doubt anything there will be worth taking for further use. They mean nothing to me... For now," said William on the phone. "Due take some time off for the week. Rest up your stamina and energy. Soon the commotion will start back up again, and you'll be the one to ignite the pain like a disease. Until then. Micahel." He hung up as I put the phone back on the rack, as moment later I got up and walked towards the bathroom, just to refresh myself. I walked in and turned on the faucet for the water, as I splashed some water on my face while looking at the mirror. All I could see in the mirror was me. All but me. All but us. And the only to thing to remind us of ourselves was the purple eyes that illuminated and reflected back from the mirror. Back into us to admire. "Don't worry Michael. We are finally one," we said smiling at him who seemed to show himself through the mirror as a means of showing he was still here in us. As one of us.
"One. Big. Family. Permanently."
