Chapter 89- Hanging Out And Having Dinner

"You might die by the time that happens, you sure I'll love you?" you quirk an eyebrow in response to Jimin's cocky retort.

"I don't have to be alive for you to love me," he smirks, "Sometimes it takes death for one to realize how much they love someone."

"That would be a nice plot-twist for a book," you say turning the conversation in another direction because once again; you're not going to win this argument.

"Two people being rivals and fighting all the time and they go through a situation that has them come closer and then boom one of them dies and the other figures out they were in love with them the whole time but never got a chance to say it," Jimin describes in a small summary and finishes with a small clap of his hands and a proud smile on his lips.

"Very cool," you nod your head in agreement, "But how do we make them a couple in the end? Won't the readers be mad if the couple never gets to live as a couple? It's kinda too tragic. It could happen in the afterlife, though. Or their reincarnations could meet each other and when touch hands or something they could remember their past lives but the one that died hasn't realized they love the other soooo they're at it again-"

Jimin cuts you off with a negative shake of his hand while he drinks his soda. Once he's done and sets the can down he says, "No,no,no. None of that. They have one life. They spend it ignoring their feelings for each other and then one dies and the other lives to suffer until they die too. End of story."

You give him an unamused face expression and 'tsk' at his words, "You're cruel. What did the characters ever do to you? Would you like if that happened to you?"

"If that happened to me would I be given a second chance to do things right? I'd live in the misery of my love being dead until I died. Nothing is certain in this world."

"How am I supposed to know? We might get reincarnated and have second chances but we also might just turn into dirt and our memory might just fade out of existence. We'll know for sure after we die."

"It'll be too late to write a book then, won't it?" Jimin raises an eyebrow while picking his chopsticks up again.

"You just don't want the fictional couple to have a happy ending," you call him out and he laughs.

"Well, they're just characters I can do whatever I want with them. However, I definitely wouldn't want to be them."

"Yeah, me neither," you agree with him and then silence fills up the room as both of you eat the rest of your dinner quietly.

"Ooof," you exclaim once you gulp down your last piece of food, "Bringing food over was the best idea you've ever had."

"The place I got it from has really good food, as you saw. We should go to that restaurant and eat there sometime. It's very beautiful too," Jimin smiles satisfied by your praising.

"Mmhmm," you agree leaning back on your chair and stretching a bit, "Let's go there to celebrate after you guys win the competition."

You don't notice because you're too busy rubbing your stomach with your eyes closed but Jimin's smile falls from his lips when you add to his suggestion. For some reason, the mental image he had included just you and him dressed nicely sitting at his favorite table by the window that has a beautiful view to the restaurant's garden. Just you two, not anyone else. Weird. But he brushes it off like nothing.

"After we, win the competition you mean," he corrects you and you open your eyes to look  at him with furrowed eyebrows before it clicks.

"EunBi just needs time. She'll be back and I'll happily have my rightful place of cheering on your through the crowd and kicking anyone who boos you," you say with a chuckle at the end and a corner of Jimin's lips curls upwards.

"You're still part of the team. We wouldn't have come thus far without you." The tone of his voice claims he's serious with his words but it also emits a type of warmth that makes your stomach feel a bit uneasy- but no the bad type- you're not sure how to explain it. Embarrassed maybe? Sure.

"Thanks," you reply. The sound barely reaches his ears but he smiles.

"Now that doesn't mean you're not replacing EunBi till she comes back. Tommorrow at eight a.m. I want you at the studio. No excuses." he moves his pointer finger left and right just when you open your mouth to protest and you sink in your chair while sulking.

"Fine...,"

"It's not that bad. You'll do just fine."

You take a deep breath and exhale feeling  unsure, "Damn, you EunBi for leaving," you growl under your breath and Jimin laughs at your reaction.

"Don't be such a drama queen. You'll be with me- and we'll make it fun."

You turn your head and look at him with a pout. This experience is pushing you out of comfort zone and it's giving you a bit of a hard time. But the main reason that you're so reluctant is because you'll have to be with Jimin. For instance you imagine yourself with more ease learning the choreographies with HoSeok- let alone EunBi- than with Jimin. Somehow the thought of Jimin correcting your posture or guiding you into the moves has a weird type of heat spread through your body and you're not sure if this feeling is welcomed or not. But on the other hand you have to help them out so there's not much room for you to complain.

"Okay, okay, I won't make the situation harder than it already is. Just- just don't mock me."

"I'm a profesional don't worry." Jimin smiles, having picked up on your uncertainty and lack of confidence in this specific thing. He also recognizes that you might feel awkward considering that things between you are still relatively new. He's not a hundred percent confident either but since dancing is his field of expertise the obligation to make things easy and the atmosphere comfortable falls mostly on him.

"Thanks. But you know the quicker we get EunBi back the better for everyone."

"I agree but there's only so much we can do," Jimin shrugs, "Besides I'm scared that if I show up on Mark's doorstep he'll just pick me up and throw me off the building or something."

"He did sound kinda scary over the phone, if I'm honest," you add to his argument with a quiet voice.

"We'll do what we can and hope for the best," Jimin raises his fist in front of his face as a sign of motivation and you laugh as his recreation of a tough face. He's furrowed his eyebrows together and brought his lips together more in a cute pout than a fierce press of them against each other. You chuckle and he looks at you confused.

"What's so amusing?"

"You look tired and your tough face is horrible."

"Hey, at least I'm trying," he pokes his tongue out at you and silence falls between the two of you for a few seconds before Jimin takes a look at the time and notices it's gotten pretty late.

"I should get going," he looks over at you and you nod your head. You're starting to feel tired as well. All that good food surely put you in a sleepy mood.

"Do you've a ride?" you ask as you watch him stand up and start gathering all the trash from the take-out and putting it in a plastic bag.

"I'll take a cab or the bus. Public transportation is still working," Jimin shrugs nonchalantly.

"Boy," you exhale thinking of the long route he'll have to take in order to get home. Suddenly you're wondering why'd he make all this way till your place and then have to go back this late at night, "It's still pretty late, though. It'll take you a lot of time to get there with the public transportation. What time do you've to wake up to be at the studio at eight?"

"Seven," he mutters as he ties the bag closed and walks to the kitchen sink to wash his hands from the oils, "I'll sleep at two am most likely so. Five hours of sleep will be good I guess."

"That's not healthy...," you sigh not feeling happy with his choices.

"Yeah, but I've to shower, aimlessly scroll on social media for an hour or mooore, make sure non of the guys is dead and they'll probably drag me into doing or talking about something and there goes the time to sleep...you know?"

You furrow your eyebrows at his excuses and look at him weirdly although he can't see you 'cause his back is facing you. You feel sort of responsible for Jimin getting this few hours of sleep so you mawl an idea over in your head. If he hadn't decided to bring food over to your place then he would've been home already and he'd go to sleep at a more reasonable hour. But on the other hand offering him to sleep over might be too intimate.

But again what about intimacy? You two have shared a bed multiple times and that didn't seem to bother either of you.

"Since EunBi's out you can sleep here and I can give you a spare set of clothes to wear after you shower," your mouth beats your mind before it even considers making a decision. You curse yourself in your head as you see Jimin whip his head around to give you a surprised expression.

"You sure about that?"

"Yeah," you reply more confidently than you would've liked and you curse yourself more but it's too late to take anything back now, "It'll save you a lot of time and besides I owe you for this great dinner."

Jimin keeps looking at you unsure if you've really thought this through or are speaking without a filter in your mind. You're not sure why you're doing this either but since you've begun it you might as well go all the way, "Besides, I'll annoy you a lot tomorrow so you'll need all the rest you can get and I need blackmail to use so you don't kill me. Plus you won't have to check the life status of the guys."

Jimin cracks up at the last of your points as he takes the towel next to the sink to dry his hands off. You smile feeling relieved that at least he's amused and hoping that he's not by any chance misunderstanding your offer.

"You make a strong argument," he makes small nods with head, "But what I'm understanding is that you like my company," he raises a suggestive eyebrow and the infamous smirk makes its grand entrance once again as Jimin drops the towel where it was before and leans on the kitchen counter while a hand rests on his waist. Your mouth forms a small 'o' at this words and a deep blush reaches your cheeks again.

There we go again. This guy doesn't give breaks.

"Well, I must admit you're great company," you begin and Jimin's smile only grows as he licks his lower lip awaiting for the rest of your answer, "However I think i can manage a few hours away from you. I'm just being kind and looking out for my future self to avoid cranky you."

Jimin gasps and defensively puts a hand on his chest, "Liar! You know you want me!" you laugh. "How dare my fake girlfriend claim she doesn't want to spend the night over with me!" he fakes a hurt sob, "Shame on you, Y/N. You really hurt my feelings."

"I'm sorry, Honey," you reply, playing along, "I don't deserve you, break up with me."

"No. To keep you suffering I'll stay with you," Jimin argues with a dramatically deep voice as he slams his hands on the table in front of you.

"Oh, the horror!" you say and bring a hand to your forehead and look to the side, away from him.

There's a pause of your little dramatic scene and you both stay unmoved. You awaiting for Jimin to come up with something more ridiculous to say but he doesn't. Instead, he cocks his head to the side and asks, "What the hell are we doing?"

You both crack up in small laughter that later turns into loud-belly-aching type. Jimin falls on the floor with his bottom and just hits the floor to express himself and it has you fall into hysterics dragging Jimin down with you. At some point you lose balance as well and join him down on the floor banging your head on the leg of the table while at it. This brings a new round of hysterics for the both of you.

After a while you calm down and you're both sprawled on the floor like starfish starring up at the ceiling.

"So, should I turn the water heater on?" you ask referring to the shower he claimed he wanted to take and to fish-out whether he will stay the night or not. He takes a second to contemplate and honestly, he's not that sure if he can move from his spot on the floor right alone. Let alone go all the way home at this hour.

"Yeah," he replies with a deep voice while his hand goes underneath his black sweater and rubs his stomach softly.

"Okay, it won't take long," You reply while you sit up and then on your feet to jump over his body and go turn the heater on and search through your clothes to find something that could fit him.

Jimin stays there feeling content with the cold floor as he keeps on looking at the ceiling and falls into thought about how greatfull he is that you suggested he stayed over and made his life a bit easier. Then he thinks about the small dramatic 'play' the two of you had when he teased you about enjoying his company. His mouth curls into a smile when the mental picture of your shocked and red face shows up in his mind. Without realizing he bites his lower lip at that image.

Goodness, he definitely loves to catch you off by surprise in that way. The way you react is pure amusement to him and truthfully he could say such cheesy things all day long to watch you react this way.

Maybe it was worth it to go from one side of the city to another side to pick up food from his favorite restaurant and bring it over to you- which again is in the complete opposite direction from the restaurant and his place.
