Chapter 87- EunBi Is Gone

"She's disappeared," is the first thing you say after you walk back inside the building.

You notice NamJoon awkwardly scrolling through his phone in search of EunBi's number in hopes of dialing her. You also notice TaeHyung's and SiNa's absence. You don't give it much thought thinking that SiNa left as she didn't find TaeHyung there.

Jimin is the first one to walk toward you and inform you of what happened while you were out;

"TaeHyung came. He's with SiNa in an empty practice room and they're talking,"

Your eyes widened in shock, "Do we have any idea why she's here in the first place?"

"No, the moment she saw TaeHyung she grabbed him and dragged him away, it happened a few minutes after you chased behind EunBi."

You sigh deeply with discomfort. What now? What will all of you do? Just sit down and wait for TaeHyung to come out with his probably new girlfriend and move on like that without giving a damn about EunBi?

No, no, that's an absurd development of events. They wouldn't give up on EunBi like that and certainly not you.

"Guys, what do we do now?" HoSeok's voice sounded quietly but still strong enough to gather everyone's attention, "Before she left EunBi said she was quitting."

"She what?" NamJoon gasped and turned to face HoSeok with a flabbergasted expression on his face, "You're joking, right?"

"No, she said it loud and clear," YoonGi confirms as he lets his head drop, eyes glued on the ground.

"Guys, she was in emotional distress," Your speak up in hopes of restricting the big chaos that's about to take over, "She's hurt, she came here for the team and she probably would've stayed if that girl hadn't shown up. If this- whatever this is- passes away she'll be back on the team for sure."

"Yeah, but who knows when this will pass? We don't have a lot of time for the competition and there's still a lot of work to be done," HoSeok presses on, the crease between his eyebrows showing up to express his discomfort, "We need to practice as much as possible to make it."

"I hear you, however, you need to be a bit understanding towards your group-mates. If you want happy results you need to have happy players, in the first place," your voice came out a little bit stricter than it ought to be. The atmosphere had turned a little bit dark; as if you and HoSeok are having a debate, heads turning back and forth to each of you as you respectively talk.

"There are no happy results if there isn't hard work first, Y/N," he gives a bit of an emphasis when your name rolls out of his mouth. Like he's trying to remind you that you are not a member of the team, ergo, have to say in this subject.

It's true, you agree, you're in no position to dictate them on what they're going to do with their practices and general preparation for the competition. And yes, truthfully, EunBi giving up on the team has a big impact on what happens to them, however, it is no time to think of this.

"HoSeok," you speak with a softer but still strong voice to state not-defeat, "EunBi just left and she's not answering her phone and she's in a bad emotional state. I think finding her first is the main goal here."

"I agree with Y/N," Jimin's pops up out of the blue to support you and it catches you off guard. Jimin; supporting you. It's weird but it has a very tingly and nice feeling to it.

"Yeah, I'm sure one day's practice being missed won't do that much damage," NamJoon adds, "We can practice one hour more for the next week and it will be covered."

HoSeok sighs and he rubs his temples, "Okay," he gives in, "But what about TaeHyung? Do we tell him?"

"I think he has to know," YoonGi adds, "After all, he stills cares for her."

"Okay."

On- what can only be described as- perfect timing, TaeHyung shows up with SiNa on his side. He looks disheveled. A complete mess. His hair looks like a bird's nest; sticking in all possible directions like antennas. The dark circles under his eyes aren't hard to be missed, it makes him look fifteen years older. His eyes are red as if he was just now crying.

The sniff from his nose confirms he was. There's a dead feeling in his expression. He doesn't look like a young adult in the early twenties who is full of life. He doesn't look like the TaeHyung you had last time witnessed. He's miserable, sad, feeling depressed. Self-loath has taken a toll on him. His physical condition can only show a part of what he is feeling. Your heart aches at the sight of him like that.

EunBi truly was bad but TaeHyung...he is reacting to this way worse.

"Uh..I-I should go," SiNa mutters looking from all of you to TaeHyung, "Goodbye, Tae. If you need me for anything please don't hesitate to call me. I'll do anything to help you."

TaeHyung only nodded his head in acknowledgment of her offer. He didn't even have the energy to shift his eyes and look at her as he nodded his head. The girl accepted the reaction and with fast steps she disappeared from the building.

Dead silence overtook the room. The atmosphere is thick. Everyone wants to ask TaeHyung what happened in there but then again he does not look like he is in a state to answer anything.

With a black cloud surrounding him, an unreadable, blank and- one would say- dead expression on his face TaeHyung exhaustedly and slowly walks over to the orange couch and plops on in. He is utterly beaten.

His emotionless eyes scan the room, they go over everyone in the room and the first thing he says is; "Where's EunBi?"

His voice is hoarse. It doesn't even sound like his own anymore. It's raw and ugly.

"Tae...are you okay?" your voice comes out a whisper but it is still audible for him.

"No," he answers with no color in his voice, no emotion, like he doesn't care that he is like this, "Where's EunBi?"

"She...she was here," YoonGi begins with a lot of hesitation, "But then SiNa showed up and she left...she also said she was quitting the team."

TaeHyung's expression went from an unreadable to completely shocked in a split second. His eyes depict sorrow and despair. He feels as if something inside of him and everyone heard the crack.

"Sh-she le-eft?" his voice cracked and his eyes squinted a little bit, he's trying to hold back tears. He can't. He doesn't have the strength to.

He lowers his head and plants his face into his hands. A sob breaks out milliseconds after and the sound of TaeHyung's crying fills up the room.

Jimin rushes to his side and engulfs him in his embrace. TaeHyung wraps his arms around the blond and hides his face in the crook of Jimin's neck. Soon HoSeok is found on TaeHyung's other side softly caressing his back to soothe him.

"Someone should go look for EunBi," Jungkook's voice is finally heard- although quietly- for the first time and he has a very good point.

"Me, Jungkook, SeokJin, and Y/N should go look for her," Yoongi makes the decision and everyone else agrees with him.

And soon the four of you are gone while NamJoon, HoSeok, and Jimin stay by TaeHyung's side. To be truthful there is a tiny part of you that, for a moment, felt disappointed that Jimin did not come with you but you deemed that thought and feeling as irrational and currently unimportant. You're intent on giving all your focus and energy on finding EunBi and putting some sense into her.

You split into two teams. Yoongi and SeokJin together and you go with Jungkook. The first pair claimed will go to places EunBi usually hangs out at while you and Jungkook will go by your apartment first to see if she's there and then go other possible places.

All of you did everything. You searched everywhere yet you found no trace of her. How could she have disappeared like that? Logically, she would've taken the turn of events bad...but no one believed that I'd be so bad that everyone would have to search for her until sundown.

"Noona," Jungkook's voice breaks you out of your thoughts, "We should call Mark."

"Jungkook you're a genius!" You had completely forgotten about Mark. EunBi's adoptive brother. He seemed like a good and understanding fella if she's with him and he knows...he will lend an ear to listen to the other side, right?

No.

He did not want to listen. He answered the phone and all he said was, "Yes, EunBi is with me, however, I don't want any of you bothering her until she reaches out to you. She's off the team. Goodbye."

And he hung up like that.

You were left speechless. Jungkook asked you what was wrong and he was equally shocked when you explained. Later, you called the others to let them know that EunBi is alright and is with her brother. You heard TaeHyung question whether she'd accept seeing him and your answer not only felt like deadweight on his stomach but everyone else's as well.

EunBI is out and apparently, there's no room for discussion.

"Oh...EunBi...," you sigh heavily as you take a seat on your couch and let your body sink into the cushions. You're tired, mentally and physically.

How will be solved if you refuse to listen? You talked to EunBi in your head, of course not expecting any sort of answer.

You let your eyes close while you head falls back to the back of the couch and you just relax for a couple of minutes. Slow breaths in, slow breaths out. You're emptying your mind from stressful thoughts and are simply accepting the moment.

The doorbell being rang erupts your small meditative moment. You groan, cursing in your head whoever this person is that disturbs you at...nine p.m. Well, it's not so late but still, it's not a good moment for you to have visitors.

You open the door and you tilt your head quizzically, a crease forming between your eyebrows when you see Jimin standing on your doorstep with take-out bags hanging from his hands.

"Hello," he smiles politely and he tilts his head in the same way you did.

"Wh-whaaat are you doing here?" you drag the question to emphasize your confusion, "Aren't you supposed to be with TaeHyung?"

"He's sleeping...We took him home, he didn't even want to eat. He went straight to bed and the moment he laid down he got knocked out," a sad expression takes over his face as he narrates the events. He's never seen TaeHyung so messed up and his heart aches for his best friend.

"I feel very bad for them...," you purse your lips to form a sad pout while you lean on your door, then you snap out of your trace and make way for Jimin to come in. After he takes his shoes off he goes straight to the kitchen.

"It's a shame they have to go through so much pain over something like this...Specifically EunBi," Jimin keeps talking as he takes the contents of the bags out and lays them on the counter, "She believes TaeHyung cheated on her when it's not even like that...and Sina today came to apologize to him and EunBi. Aah, if only she hadn't fled things would've been better now."

"That's why SiNa came today? To apologize to him?"

"Yeah, that's what TaeHyung said and I don't have him for a liar."

You groan at the unfair situation.

"We should give EunBi some space then. If we force all of this information on her she might react badly. Let's wait a little bit until the waters calm down."

"You're right...We should try to reach out to Mark though," Jimin suggests.

"He sounded pretty angry on the phone, to be honest," you answer a bit sheepishly, not familiar with this side of Mark, however, you don't blame him.

"He's very protective of EunBi but he's reasonable he'll listen", Jimin reassures and hands you a plastic plate full of food that brings your original query into mind.

"Jimin, why did you come here in the first place?" You ask straightforwardly and he freezes for a moment. Caught off guard by your sudden question.

"I-uh," he stammers as he still hasn't gathered his mind to respond properly, "I thought you'd be tired and in no mood to cook and stuff so I thought I'd bring you over some food and we could get to know each other more since...we're friends now." He explains and soon after he regrets being so detailed in his explanation. He could've said he just wanted to hang out, simple as that. But his tongue beat his mind, as it often does.

A sudden warmth erupts within you and it makes you smile, almost takes away the burden and negativity of the entire day. You're friends now, that's what you've wanted for so long.

Yet, why is there a part of you that's reacting bitterly to this?
