ChaeRin hears her phone ring signaling a message has arrived. She picks it up and she sees that this message is from Cody.

Cody <3:

-ChaeRin, I'm not sure how this happened...but, the family friends I've come to visit with my sister are...the Parks...Jimin is here...Y/N too.

The moment she reads this message her eyes nearly jump out of their sockets.

"What?" She gasps.

As she sinks the information in her brain, after re-reading the message about five times, an idea comes to her mind and she textes Cody back;

ChaeRin:

-I wasn't expecing something like that to happen but I guess Luck is in our favor.

-If you could, please pay close attention to how Y/N and Jimin act with each other.-And tell me afterwards, of course.-Love you, babe <3 <3 <3

Cody <3:

-Well, they announced their relationship to Jimin's family just a bit ago and they didn't seem to have a problem while Jimin was feeding her in front of everyone.

ChaeRin stares wide eyed at the screen, frozen for a few moments, before she sighs sitting back on her kitchen chair, leaning on the table.

"What in the world do I have to do in order to get you back?" she whispers, while looking at a picture her and Jimin had taken when they where still dating; She is taking a selfie smiling into the camera and he is hugging her from behind giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"I was so bad to you...,"

Her eyes start getting watery.

"I don't deserve you,"

The first tear escapes her eye and makes its way down her cheek.

"Yet again, I'm being selfish and asking you back,"

After the first tear another follows...and another...and another until she is fully crying in her dark kitchen, alone, having no one to celebrate with.

As ChaeRin is suffering in her own dark prison, you are having a very enjoyable but yet again weird- due to Cody's presence- time at the Park's house.

By now, Jungkook has come with his parents to celebrate. To say that it wasn't a surprise for him to see Cody as well as you with Jimin acting like a couple- thing that he hasn't seen many times-, would be a lie. The boy had a shocked look on his face until Jimin explained to him the entire situation.

Surprisingly too, Cody seems to have understood that Jimin's family doesn't know about him (he'd be kicked out otherwise) and he is acting all casual. Like he knows you only from Biology courses and has seen Jimin only a couple of times- through you again.

There are two hours remaining until the clock strikes twelve and you have basically separated into two groups in the living room. The parents, talking with each other about different subjects that they are interested in, and the rest of you, the younger ones that are separated into subgroups; Cody, YeoWol and JiHyun discussing about the latest video games that have come out for Xbox. ChangMi at the moment is refreshing herself in the bathroom whereas you, Jimin and Jungkook are feeling extremely awkward.

"It's weird seeing you too act all-," Jungkook tells you as he scrunches up his face not really sure how to explain what he thinks, "-You know, so close to each other without sharing glares and mean words."

"Yah! He's still here be quiet," Jimin shushes the younger one referring to Cody who is laughing his head off to some joke YeoWol said.

"Sorry," Jungkook mutters back turning his head to look at anywhere and his eyes land on the cheery ChangMi, "Hyung, have I ever told you that your best friend scares me?" he averts his eyes back to Jimin.

"Only every time that you see her," Jimin mumbles back and you snicker.

"Well, I'm sorry, but she kind of scares me too," You say and Jimin raises an eyebrow in question.

"I know he is scared of girls but why are you?" the boy with the red hair asks you in mock of Jungkook who hits him with a pillow.

"I'm not scared of girls, Hyung," He mutters right before Jimin hits him back with another pillow.

"Sooooo, what are you naughty kids doing?" ChangMi pops up out of nowhere from behind you scaring the hell out of you.

Naughty kids?

Is she on drugs or something?

"Jungkook was just telling me how pretty you are," Jimin tells his female friend and the smile on Jungkook's face immediately disappears and shock takes over his face before his grip on the pillow he is holding gets stronger and soon he has given Jimin a hit he pretty much deserved.

"What?" ChangMi questions as she looks at Jungkook who is being a nervous wreck trying to explain, whereas Jimin is trying to hold back the roaring laughter that is about to escape from his mouth.

"Don't listen to Jimin Hyung, I n-never said such thing," he stops but then his eyes widen as he realizes that he may have insulted ChangMi by this, "N-not t-that you are n-not p-pretty, I-I never implied that," he stutters while having his hands raised up protectively.

ChangMi snickers a little bit looking at Jungkook's unnecessary nervousness, "Um, Jungkook-ah, forgive me, but I don't have such interest in men," she says sweetly.

"Eh?" Jungkook asks with a dumbfounded expression on his face.

That is the moment when Jimin falls to the ground still trying to hold his laughter. He is literally hitting the ground, his face completely red from the risen pressure in his body, his mouth wide open yet again no sound coming out of it. It looks like he is literally dying of laughter.

Jungkook is still too shocked to realize that his Hyung is on the floor and hitting it like a madman.

Did ChangMi just think he was hitting on her and she told him she's gay?

Exactly.

"Jimin, are you okay?" ChangMi asks as she crouches down to the boy not being sure whether to laugh or be worried for his state.

"I-I'm O-okay," he stutters, the tears of laughter visible on his red face, "H-his face was priceless," he cries and Jungkook sends him a glare, combined with a bunny smile, from above as he lightly kicks Jimin's leg.

"This Hyung I swear," He mumbles as his eyes scan the room and then leaves to the bathroom not being able to handle the embarrassment or his Hyung.

"Help him sit on the couch, I'll bring him some water," you say as you look at your supposed boyfriend like you are wondering what has gone wrong with him but in reality, you find his laughter adorable.

ChangMi nods and she helps the still red-faced Jimin stand up and sit on the couch, as you leave for the kitchen to pour him a glass of water.

"Y/N," You hear your name being called by Cody who followed you into the kitchen, "I'm sorry for this, I swear I had no idea."

"You expect me to believe that?" You ask, raising an eyebrow as you take a glass from the cabinet.

"I'm you wouldn't want to spend the New Year's Eve with me in the same house as you, but that's what we both get," he hangs his head low and unfortunately his words are true.

Whether you like it or not he is here and you can't change it so complaining will only make things worse.

"True," you mutter and open the fridge to get a bottle out but you stop midway as you realize that you don't know if he drinks cold water in winter or not.

Half cold and half normal, to be sure then.

You close the door of the fridge with the cold bottle in your hand, "Want some water?" You ask and he nods.

"ChaeRin will not be coming to Busan...things...came up so you don't need to worry about her while you're here," he tells you.

"That's good," you say and give him his glass, "Now, can you explain to me exactly why she thinks me and Jimin are in a fake relationship?" you look at him with a disturbed face expression and he avoids your eyes in embarrassment.

"Aaah, well, she claims that you don't much like a couple," he says and you look at him confused.

"How does she judge that?"

"Aah, well, first the drugstore incident with the lady, then the fact that you don't show online you and him are dating, and lastly she mentioned something about you not having kissed in front of anyone? I-I don't even know with her anymore," he says quietly with a sigh, looking completely done with her.

How in the world does he stay by her side?

You wonder as you practically see how broken this girl has him.

"Thank you for telling me this, Cody, but I don't know if I can do anything to help with this, I mean...we don't really do public-display-of-affection...," You mutter apologetically, giving a reason to the lack of public clues on your relationship.

"Just, just try to show that you actually are in a relationship, it should drag down her confidence at least," he begs and you internally cheer at how this boy is falling to your traps. He has told you everything you needed to find out and you didn't even need to ask twice.

"I'll see what I can do...but I can't promise anything," You say and give him his glass of water and take the one you poured to Jimin as you head for the living room again.

You don't even make it two steps away from your previous spot. You stop as you see that Jimin is standing right there, leaning on the wall, having listened to your entire conversation with Cody.

His face is emotionless, he is staring at you and then at Cody.

You are sure that you have messed up big time.

"Y/N, do you perhaps want to go and buy roasted chestnuts with me?" he asks you as he turns his displeased gaze from Cody to you.

You know this is him telling you to just follow him and say everything that you haven't told him.

He looks mad.

I'm screwed.
