Training, day 1

I walked into the training room. They weren't giving us any tips as we all already had some in our previous games. I went towards the knives, the throwing ones.

I picked a few up, a threw them at some moving targets. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around, It was Finnick of course.

"Don't scare the people Amora, make more allies," he suggested.

I just sighed "I don't know how to make allies," I told him.

"What do you mean, Luces and Petra-" I stopped it.

"Petra was my friend, not my ally and Luces was Gabriel's the only reason I won the games is because of Gabe!" I fumed "Gabe should of won not me!"

"Then win for him," he remarked "Win these games for him,"

"Why do you care about me so much?" I asked, setting my knives down "Be honest with me, you don't even know me,"

He sighed "Because Amora, I care about everyone, and It's just... I want you to live, so I'd thought I'd help,"

"Im honored by your kindness Finnick, but I don't need help," I said. I looked at him, I hadn't noticed before, but he was healthy and fit, but me even after winning the games, I was scrawny, and still small. Finnick was a good person, he had sea green eyes and bronze hair.

He just sighed and nodded, trailing off. I put the knives away and looked at Beetee who was getting help from Katniss Everdeen, the girl from 12. Everyone was doing something, but I needed to play this smart. I already went through all this training, I needed to learn the tributes strengths and weaknesses and use it against them. Yeah I'm aware, that's brutal.

But I was brutal.

Training was over and we all went back to our rooms, I walked in, setting my belongings down. And going upstairs to change.

After changing, I went back downstairs where everyone was. I remembered sitting on those exact couches with Gabe. I sat down and looked at Aiden.

I smiled at him, "Hello darling how was training?" He asked.

"Well, I have 12 and 4 on my side, I'll be with them during the games, Beetee has 7 on his side, so where splitting up, we need to take the careers out," I answered.

"Smart," he said "God Amora you've grown up a lot,"

"What can I say," I said, chuckling "I'm a daughter to a king who forgot my name,"

My father left me and Callie when I was 6 making Callie 2 years old. He works somewhere I the capitol, that's all I know, my mother doesn't like talking about him.

Aiden smiled slightly, wrapping a arm around me, I leaned into him softly, thinking about everything that had happened those past nine years.

I just sat there, my head in thought. You fight for your life in this game, and after all you think about it wanting to be dead. Honestly I wished I was dead, Instead of having to mentor kids on how to win these games. It was not a game, games are fun, meant to be fun. The hunger games wasn't fun.

That night I slept well, for the first time in awhile. The next morning I woke up and changed to get ready to train more. I walked down to Beetee and we walked over to a tree, he looked up at where the people of the capitol where standing. "There's a force field, you can see it glimmer," he said, making me look up, he was right.

"Probably my fault," I hears a voice say behind me, "I shot a arrow up there last year," It was Katniss Everdeen.

I chucked softly and smiled at her, Beetee grabbed some sticks and tried starting a fire "Move your hands down," Katniss said. He nodded moving his hands down.

It worked "Thats brilliant," Beetee said. I smiled and looked at Katniss.

"Thank you," I said to her and she nodded.

"You know, Haymitch warned me about you, and to not be on your bad side, you don't seem to bad," she told me and I looked at her.

"I'm a whole different person in the games... but aren't we all?" I asked, making Katniss nodded "I didn't wanna kill anyone, but I went insane in the bloodbath, I think it was 6 people, then I got two out of the bloodbath,"

Katniss nodded "It's crazy what these games can do to people..." she muttered.

I just nodded "I see the faces of the people who died in the games, especially the ones I killed, everyday," I said, sighing "And I split from Gabe, knowing Deven was around, and Gabe died... and Deven was such a easy kill for me, I wonder what came over me... was it because he killed Gabe and his allies killed Luces and Petra, It's almost like he didn't even try and fight back- it was quick,"

Katniss sighs "I was the same with the guy who killed Rue, but Cato is a different story, I mean I wanted to kill him but he fought back,"

I nodded "I do need to train a little, Finnick agreed to do combat with me so I should probably find him," I remarked and she nodded as a got up and went to find Finnick. He was with Mags, learning how to make fish hooks.

"Hey Finnick, Mags," I said, Mags looked up at me and smiled and I smiled back. I watched her and Finnick make fish hooks, before she nodded at Finnick to go with me.

I smiled and we started doing combat. "So Finnick, what's interesting about you?" I asked.

He smiled "I'm in a arranged love with Annie Cresta, another victor from my district, I guess they think the victors should be together, my village is happy about it and so it my family so I'm not gonna stop it," he said, sighing slightly, making me forget about our combat, and he pushed me onto the ground, which I consider a win for him.

"Finnick I had-" he stopped me and shook his head chuckling.

"Don't feel pity for me and stop fighting,  you will die and no it's fine," he said and I groaned in annoyance.

I looked over and Katniss and Beetee where talking, I was glad he was making allies, so less people would kill him.

After training I went back to my apartment and sat with Aiden, our interviews and scoring was just around the corner "People are gonna say anything to try and get out of these games, if you can think of anything say it," he said, I sighed, not being able to think of anything to say, plus the capitol wouldn't care, they need there entertainment.
