Chapter 23 [Ending]
Small timeskip has been made... The long awaited ending. ;)
Adam's POV
"You'll visit soon, right?" I ask the tall Australian. I hadn't known Lachlan for long, but I was quite fond of him already. He was pretty lovable, like Preston had told me a while ago. I would definitely have to contact him in the future... Plan some collabs...
"Oh, yeah! Totally!" He nodded enthusiastically, giving me a wide grin. He looked at the British man who was standing off to the side. "Vikk. Flights leaving." They got lucky with this flight. It went to Brisbane first, then South East London, where the Sideman house was. Coincident, isn't it?
"Oh. Right. Uh... See you guys around." Vikk gave them all a smile, nodding at Mitch, Preston and Rob, before grabbing Lachlan's arm and pulling him off towards their loading station.
"Robert! Don't go back to Cah-nah-dee-ah! Stay with meeeee!" Preston wailed dramatically, throwing himself at the man, who scoffed.
"Dude! I'm coming to visit next month. Chill." Still, he pulled Preston into a quick hug, sneaking a kiss on the forehead before backing away. "All of you! Call me!" He pointed at the remaining people before rushing off.
"This was really fun, Adam! Again sometime, okay?" Preston turned to me. I could hear the excitement in his voice, but there was a flicker of sadness in his eyes.
"Yeah. This was fun." I agreed with a smile. And really, it was. It had been amazing...
Preston laughed, patting me on the shoulder. "Off to Texas, I return." Then, he raced off as well, to go catch his flight.
"You guys live here, don't you?" I look at Mitch and Jerome, who shake their heads. "Wait, what?! Since when?" They had moved? I swear their parents...
"Since yesterday...? We're moving back into the Team Crafted house. Some of the old guys wanted us back there, and there's a new group who want to rent it out with us as well."
"Same here." Jason nodded, Ian following suite.
How did those two move out? They should still be with their parents...
Why were all my friends leaving me...?
"Well... I guess you guys need to go catch your flights too." I mutter, looking away from them. Then I smile quickly. "Have fun! Be good! Don't scare off the new kids, okay?"
They all exchange a glance. "Stay safe, Adam." Ian returns my smile, and the four were gone.
And who was left?
Seto, who was in a quiet, serious-looking conversation with Brice. He had his hand on the blonde's shoulder, and their heads were leaned towards each other, talking in quick, hushed voices.
Sub and Ethan were talking as well. You could hear Ethan laughing every now and then, which surprised me. He seemed like such a serious guy.
Was that all who was left?... And they'd be gone too, soon.
"Don't be upset. They'll be back soon." I jumped at the soft voice, and the hand which gripped my shoulder. I looked over my shoulder to see Ty, watching me with sad brown eyes.
"I'm not upset. What do you mean?" I laughed, but it was humorless and dry. Dammit... I don't even know why I tried. My friend could see right through me.
He frowned softly, tilting his head to the side a bit as he observed me. Silently, he grabbed my hand, pulling me away from the remaining.
I knew it was pointless to struggle. "Bye, you guys! Thanks for coming! It was really fun! Call me, okay?" I yelled as I was tugged away.
Seto gave me a look. "I live four blocks down from you. My parents wouldn't even dream of letting me move out. I'm fourteen years old, Adam." Seto said slowly, causing Brice to snort with laughter. Seto rolled his eyes, giving us a small wave before returning to his conversation. Right. Brice would be leaving soon too. They had a lot to talk about, and not a lot of time...
"Bye. It was nice meeting you, Adam." This surprised me as well. Ethan...
Sub grinned shyly at me. I didn't really expect him to talk... "Goodbye... Um... Thanks, Adam. For everything."
This time, my smile was real. I would miss them all so much...
I was pulled out of the airport and towards the car. Then shoved into the passenger seat. He climbed into the driver's seat, sticking the key into the ignition and starting the car. Ty didn't say a word as he started driving away.
"Where are we going?"
He didn't even look at me. We continued on like this for a good ten minutes, staying in an awkward silence. Every now and then, I'd glance at him, and he'd ignore me. Well then.
Finally, he pulled into a parking lot at a Walmart that was nearby the office, turning the car off and looking at me.
"What?" I questioned, giving a small laugh.
"Jason told me you liked me." His voice was bored sounding now, not soft and sweet like earlier. His eyes went wide. That obviously wasn't what he was planning to say. "I mean-Uh... They'll be back soon. You don't need to be sad."
"Wait, what? Jason told you what?" That little... Never trust a five foot music producer. I was going to kill him.
"Nothing. I wasn't supposed to say that. Forget it." He ducked his head, causing his hair to fall in front of his face, hiding from me.
"No. Can we just... Talk, Ty?" Talk? Oh, yeah. 'Talk'. About what? My gay crush on my best friend? Honestly, after seeing everything that happened at the Truth or Dare... This probably wasn't the weirdest thing.
But that was a game. A simple game. It was all an act, probably. Everyone was just good friends.
"I don't want to talk, Adam. I just want to know. Is it true?" The soft voice was back. "Answer me, please. I don't care. It's fine. I need to know, though."
"I think so. I don't know." I was whispering too. Oh, I knew. I knew very well.
He tensed up, then relaxed. He finally looked back up at me. "Stay still. Don't move. Okay?" Before I could agree, he had unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned over. I only had time to close my eyes before he was kissing me.
A soft, timid kiss. It felt like a test. I guess I passed, because then he was actually kissing me. And I was kissing back, pulling him into my lap, holding him close.
Maybe I was wrong... I thought as I made out with my best friend.
Maybe it wasn't just a game after all.
No. It really wasn't.
It really isn't.
