CHAPTER ONE: Jax of hearts

␣ ␣ ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍ ␣ ␣

AUSTIN JACKSON QUESTIONED WHAT HIS LIFE HAD CAME TO. Since he befriended Emma Alonso. His life had been turned upside down. He was sure, he would have gone his store life, unaware of the existence of witches and Kanays, and whatever other creature there was out there, if she hadn't came into town. As it seemed that Maddie would have never told anyone in the school, and Diego had only recently discovered that he was a Kanay.

"And then he looked right at me with those gorgeous black eyes," Andi continued her story.

"The shark had gorgeous black eyes?" Emma interrupted, questioning the girl.

"You say things like that, and it makes me worry for your sanity," Austin tells the shorter of the three.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Andi explained.

"I can't believe your dad took you shark cage diving," Emma speaks, disbelief.

"Right? Like I need a cage to protect me."

"The last place my dad took me to was Graceland, if I head to hear him say; 'thank you, thank you very much' one more time I'll-"

"Turn him into a giant sea turtle I can ride the next time I go shark diving?" Andi asked.

"Why was that your first thought?" Austin questioned.

"So, what did you do over the summer?" Emma questioned the blond-haired boy.

"Oh, my mom took me New York," he smiled.  "Oh, would you look at that." He stopped, as Daniel waved at the three.

"There's Daniel," Andi says.

When the sound of a dirt bike filed the air, or, well two. As two boys, both dressed in a leather jacket and dark clothing pulled in front of the school.  Some of the dirt on the parking lot, had been forced up into the air with how they drove, then sharply turning to a stop.

"That's a double-torque upright dirt bike," Andi spoke. "I thought they were real, just a first bike urban legend."

The two boys got off thier bikes, up strapping their gloves.

Daniel had walked over to the three, arms extended for a hug. Emma quickly hugged him. After a few seconds, of awkwardly watching the two hug. Andi spoke up. "Hello? We're still here."

"How was visiting your nana?" Emma questioned.

"Um, dangerous. She spent the entire week arming the T-3 with enough gear to bring down Miami," Daniel informed.

"Awesome!" Andi yelled, but when seeing the lips she received from both Daniel and Emma, hesitated. "Oh, I mean, bad mama. Bad.  Uh, your shoelaces are untied."

"I'm not falling for that again," Daniel replied.

"No, they are," Emma smiled at Daniel.
"She's telling the truth, for once," Austin speaks at the same time.

Daniel looks down, seeing that his show is untied, crouching down

"Hey, you got some-" Emma began, then cautiously looked around. "To master move the dust," Emma casted a spell, getting rid of the dirt that had landed on Daniel's shoulder.

Daniel stood up. "What?"

"Nothing," Emma lied.

"How was Graceland?"

"Oh,'don't her her started again," Andi interrupted. The walked inside.

Jax Novoa and Jeremiah Novoa, both removed their helmets, looking up at the new school.

"Iridium High, prepared to be Jaxed," Jax spoke.

"You know, if I didn't know you, I'd punch you for the stupid line. But, since it means you'll be getting kids in trouble," Jeremiah grinned.

␣ ␣ ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍ ␣ ␣

"Attention, Prinpial Alonso speaking," the voice came form the mega speaker.  "Can get hear me? I don't think they can hear me."

Austin sighed, hanging his head, he thought of going to the Pricipal's office, tell him they could hear him.

"Is this think on? Uh, hello? Can anyone hear me?" The man continued.  "Maybe that's not-wait, wait, wait, it's blinking. Okay, okay it's on."

He cleared his throat. "Emma Alonso, Emma Alonso, please report to the principal's office. Thank you, thank you very much."

␣ ␣ ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍ ␣ ␣

Jeremiah and Jax Novoa sat in the principal's office, waiting for the man's daughter to walk through the door.

"You'll love Iridium High," The man spoke. "Jax? He questioned slightly. "That's a unique name."

"It's a family name," Jax answered.

"Ah, so is Francisco, believe it or not. We have tons of activities. Our swim team, best in the county."

"So, we've heard," Jeremiah replied, eyeing his brother, who began to make a pen float in the air. He rolled his eyes, glancing around to make sure there was no cameras in the office.

"I'm looking forward to that," Jax continued.

"Our debate team won regionals last year. Mostly do to Gigi Rueda. You really can't shut Gigi up." He laughed. "No, really you can't."

"Like many people here, apparently," Jeremiah muttered. Then smiled brightly at the principal, even though his back was turned. "Maybe, my brother should join the team."

"So, um, how are you grades, Jax? Jeremiah?"

Jax leaned over, seeing his paper on the desk, with his D and C grades.  He quickly casted a spell to change it. "Good, mostly A's."

"Good for you. We need student like you here at Iriduim. Jeremiah?"

"Between Bs and Cs," Jeremiah shrugged.

The door opened, in walking a cheery girl. "Hi, Dad."

Jax dropped the pen as he turned, luckily, nether were watching. Before the girl caught sight of the two brothers. "I mean, Mr. Alonso. You asked for me?"

"There you are.  This is Jax and Jeremiah Novoa, new students transfer from..." the man apsides, trying to recall.

"Sydney," Jeremiah smiled.

"Emma, I'd like for you to show them around," mr. Alonso spoke.

"Me? Sure, but some you want someone who's been going here longer? I've never even been to some places, like the band room, the workout room, the basement biology lab.  That place is just scary."

"I'm sure you do just fine."

Jeremiah stood up. "Yeah, I'm sure you'll do just fine."

␣ ␣ ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍ ␣ ␣

"And this is the trophy case," Emma gestured. "As you can see, the Sharks won a lot of them."

"So, your dad's the principal?" Jeremiah questioned.

"Yep. He was promoted after the last principal-" she cut herself off. "I'm, had a a bit of a meltdown."

Jeremiah extended a hand,
Picking up a trophy. "Did you win any of these?"

The girl laughed. "You're obviously new here, otherwise you'd know I'm way too clumsy to have won any sports awards."

"You don't look so clumsy to me."

"You've only known me ten minutes. Give it another five, I'm sure I'll trip and knock my lunch tray on you."

"Are you asking me out for lunch?" Jeremiah grinned.

Jax rolled his eyes at his brother, but, in doing so, caught sight of a blond-haired boy walking by

"I'm, no." When swing Jeremiah's face fall, the form quickly faked a smile, awkward. "I-sure. Daniel, Andi and Austin are waiting for me, but you're free to join us."

"Who's he?" Jax interrupted, pointing to the blond-haired boy, whose head was downed scribbling in a notebook.

Emma turned. "Oh, that's Austin," she replied. "Austin!"

The blond-haired boy looked away from his notebook, Towards the direction his name had bene called. He smiled when seeing his friend. "Emma."

"Late for lunch, again?" She teased.

"I was working on a song," Austin turns his head to the two boys. "Hey, you're the new students, right? I'm Austin." He extended his hand, smiling brightly.

"I'm J-" Jeremiah began.

Jax stuck his hand out, first. "I'm Jax."

Jeremiah glanced and forth, then rolled his eyes. "I'm Jeremiah."

"They're gonna sit with us at lunch," Emma supplied.

"Alright, I'll see you at the lunch room then. I'll get another table to us. It was nice meet you, Jax, Jeremiah," Austin tilted his head before walking off.

"Just let me drop my bag off in my locker," Jeremiah says.

"Oh, right, it's part of the tour," Emma looked down at the two papers in front of her. "Let's see...over there. Both of your pockets are on the same side, but, just, on opposite sides."

"Okay, be right back," the two took thier paper, heading towards the locker.

␣ ␣ ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍ ␣ ␣

"What are you doing?" Andi questioned, when Austin moved a table next to their's.

"Emma invited the new students to sit with us, so, I'm just putting another table together."Austin shrugged.

Andi sighed aloud.

␣ ␣ ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴀ ᴅʀᴇᴀᴍ ␣ ␣

"And the cafeteria's straight through there," Emma pointed. "The food's pretty decent, but watch out for tasty taco Tuesday. The ain't tasty. Or tacos."

Jeremiah laughed.

"And that concludes our tour. Thank you for choosing the Alonso Touring Company.  Any questions?"

"Yeah, just one. Would you say there's any-" Jeremiah was interrupted as a hand wrapped around his bicep.

Another hand wrapped around Jax's bicep. "Emma, don't be so rude," the girl, with dark, curl as said. "Jax and Jeremiah are new here. You should introduce him."

"How do you know our name?" Jax questioned.

"How do you know his name," the girl, with light curls spoke.

"You were just looking at the Miss Information Alert with me that mentioned their name twice." Katie says

"Oh, yeah, but how does Miss Information know?" Sophie asked.

"Magic?" Jax questioned.

"I'm Katie, head panther," Katie says.  "And this is Sophie.  You'll wanna hang with us."

"Don't worry, they might seem intimidating, but the Panthers are harmless. see ya later."

"So, where you taking us to lunch?" Sofie asked

"Uh, the cafeteria?" Jax spoke, gesturing to the cafeteria.

"Ooh, great choice." Sofie stepped forward.  When her phone dinged. "It's Maddie. She sounds really upset."

"Who's Maddie?" Jax asked.

"Head Panther," Katie answered.

"I thought you were head Panther."

The girl, caught in her lie, hesitated. "Uh, I am, just, uh, don't tell Maddie I said so."

"I didn't know who Maddie is."

"We should probably go."

"We'll have lunch tomorrow. It'll be Tasty Taco Tuesday!" Sofie grinned as she was pulled away.

When, suddenly another girl was next on the the brothers, a camera pointed at them. "This is Miss Information with an exclusive interview with new students; Jax and Jeremiah Nova. Hi, Jax, Jeremiah, and welcome to Miss Information. Question one, why did you move here?"

Before either brother could answer, the girl pulled the microphone away from them. And back toward herself. "Question two, Are either of you single?"

Jax smiled, nervously laughing.

"Question three," the girl, once again, didn't let their of them answer. "Were either of you, canoodling with Emma Alonso?"

"Canoodling?" The two questioned.

"Just the science books. The literature ones are Al stuffy and intellectual.

"I heard your walking home. Want a ride?" Jeremiah inquired of.

"No thank you, I-uh, live really close. So close I can hear Mr. smith get overexcited about close in geography class. Yep, so, I gotta go. Have a safe walk home."
