Forget what my boss said. I'm not asking the questions he wanted me too. Who cares if he doesn't like it, I'm not going to be that rude. As Chad and Toby had a seat I smiled. "I'm Laya Phillips, and this is my boyfriend, Joseph Stamper." All the men greeted one another. Maybe if I just avoided the subject of how I knew so much, everybody would just let it slide. "So Toby said something about making a change in your career. What's your thoughts on that?"

     "Well I..." He started out in his M.C. voice. He cleared his throat and looked around. "Honestly?" I nodded and he continued in a quieter voice, "It's awesome. I am tired of this." He took off his silly hat and threw it across the room.

     "What kind of changes?" I looked back and forth between Chad & Toby. Joseph was leaned forward in interest.

     "I really want to try Christian music." Chad said simply. "Maybe make a few covers here and there."

     I couldn't hold the wide smile off of my face. "Have you ever thought of trying that in a group dynamic?"

      Chad's eyes grew wide. "Actually no. Had we, Toby?"

     We continued our interview, which I think went really well. Chad may be looking for a band before too long. Score for Laya! I think everyone was pretty happy with how the interview went, Chad handed me a slip of paper with his number on it, saying "Call me. I have questions for you too. Maybe my wife and I could do a double date with you and your beau."

      I smiled, "Sure thing." And with that we left, as we were passing the front office I heard a man singing, "Good warning!"

      To which secretary-Mandisa replied in a sing-song, meaning business voice, "I'm gonna spray you with mace." I laughed as we headed towards Joseph car.

      After we finished the interview, and were headed back to my house, Joseph said, "That Chad guy seems pretty cool. I think I could be good friends with him." I somehow managed to hold back my laugh and just nodded instead.
