My eyes fluttered opened a few times and I sat up with confusion as I looked around this pretty bedroom that I had just woken up in. One that I didn't recognize at all. I heard footsteps coming down the hall and a tall older blond man peeked into the room. "Hey, kiddo. Your awake. You gave us all a pretty good scare yesterday."

      As my eyes began to focus, I gasped. "John..."

      He wagged a finger at me, "Hey that's Uncle John to you, little missy."

      "Yes, sir. Where am I?" I struggled with my words. This felt weird, my head was swimming. Why was the John Schneider having me call him uncle?

     "Boy, you really must have taken a harder lick to the head then we thought." He came over and felt of a spot on my head that had a sore bump on it. I flinched in pain. "You've been living with me ever since I adopted you and your brother and sister. Surely you haven't forgotten that."

      "Brother? Sister?" I said, totally confused now. None of this was making any sense.

      "Shane and Moriah. You've all three been in my care for most of your lives." Uncle John just looked at me like he thought I might have fallen off of the crazy wagon. To be honest, I was wondering the same thing.

      I heard what sounded like boot heels clicking at a quick pace towards my bedroom. A dark skinned girl around my age practically ran into the room. "Laya! You are awake! Wow! This is awesome!" She ran over to my bed and wrapped me in a tight hug. "Your uncle let me stay the night, just so I could stay updated on how you were feeling."

        When she pulled back, I realized with a jolt that this was Jamie Grace Harper in front of me.

        Uncle John put his hand on Jamie's shoulder. "She's having some issues remembering things."

        Jamie blinked, "Don't tell me you forgot your bestie!?" She squealed. "And what about your boyfriend?"

        "Boyfriend? I... I have a boyfriend?" Okay this must be some parallel universe.

        Uncle John crossed his arms across his chest, "Sadly. I think you are far too young to be dating. But since I am friends with Joseph's parents, I have lots of spys to watch the two of you."

        I layed back down on the bed, "Could I just lay here a few more minutes. This is sort of a lot to take in right now?"

        My "Uncle" John Schneider and my "bestie" Jamie Grace Harper both nodded and silently left my room, closing the door behind them. 

        I have NO idea what is going on here. I have a feeling my list of surprises aren't over yet.
