Chapter 3
"So... tell me everything!" Ginny smiled, excited as the two girls walked towards the Great Hall for lunch. Emily looked at her friend, eyes wide.
"I thought you hated Malfoy?" She questioned. Ginny's smile dropped a bit.
"I do but it's obvious that you like him and that he likes you" Ginny smiled again.
"Really?"
"Yes, I can tell he likes you. He doesn't try to hide it. But you do. I don't think anyone else picked up on the fact that you like him" Emily blushed as the two girls walked into the hall. Draco looked up at Emily as she walked in, Emily spotted this she smiled at him. Harry glared at Draco and Draco looked away from Emily. The young girl felt hurt, her smile disappeared and was replaced by a frown. Draco noticed this and knew he'd have to make it up to her.
Harry smiled at his sister as she sat down, she forced a smile back at him. Draco looked over at Emily, she was obviously hurt, still. Harry noticed and once again glared at Draco. He backed off. Emily saw and smacked Harry's arm. He looked at her confused. "Leave Draco alone!" She told him, anger echoing through her voice. Hermione looked over to her and smiled.
"Why?" Harry asked.
"Well, he can actually be nice. And he doesn't hate me. And he is nothing like the way you described him" Emily smirked and got up and left. Ginny hurriedly followed her friend. Harry and Ron watched the girls gobsmacked. Hermione laughed and rolled her eyes.
"Emily! Wait up!" Ginny called running after her friend. Once they reached the bathroom Ginny spotted Emily crying in the corner. "Emily? What's wrong?" She asked sitting down next to her. She looked up at her friend.
"I don't know. It's just why does Harry try and control me! And is he right about Draco? Does Draco hate me?" She burst into tears, Ginny looked at her sympathetically. She opened her mouth to speak but was cut off by a voice.
"He doesn't hate you. Trust me" Emily looked up to see a smiling Draco. The tears stopped falling as she smiled up at him.
"Well, I'm gonna leave you two alone" Ginny got up and left. Draco sat down next to her. His arm wrapped around her shoulders. Her head leaned on his shoulder. Draco looked down at her, she looked up at him. Her emerald eyes glowed, as did Dracos. His hand reached for her face. The soft-touch of his hand sent shivers down her spine. He leaned in closer to her, their lips connected. Emily felt her heart light up and flutter. After they pulled apart Emily was blushing heavily. As was Draco. Emily smiled up at him. He smiled down at her.
"EM!! CLASS IS STARTING!!" Ginny called from the door. Emily's head turned to her.
"COMING!! Bye Draco" she smiled before getting up.
"Wait!" He called after her. She spun around to face him. He walked over to her and kissed her lips. When they pulled apart Emily blushed again and left with Ginny.
The first years next class was Defence Against The Dark Arts. After what Harry had told her about the DADA professor last year, Emily was incredibly nervous. But somewhere deep inside she knew it would be fine.
"Welcome all first-years to your first Defence Against The Dark Arts Lesson. Now we are going to start with a simple test" He handed the papers out. Emily stared at the first question
What is Gilderoy Lockhart's Favourite Colour?
Her mind went blank. She looked up at Ginny and she looked as just as confused as she did. Emily gazed down at the paper. Lilac was the first colour that popped into her head. So she wrote it down. When she finished the paper she was 100% sure she'd gotten most of them wrong.
"Now only one student received full marks Miss Ginny Weasley" Emily looked at her friend shocked. Ginny was once again smiling like crazy. "Where is Miss Weasley?" Ginny raised her hand. He smiled. "Another 10 points to Gryffindor, Miss Granger earned 10 points earlier"
"You're getting as smart as Hermione, we should be worried" Ginny laughed.
"Yeah, we should" Now Emily joined in the laughter.
"Settle Down, Now the second years struggled with this but I am still going to try it with you" He bent down under the desk and gathered a cage full of creatures. "Now I am going to release these Cornish Pixies and you have to defend yourselves." The majority of the class looked shocked and worried, after all, they hadn't learnt any spells yet. "Ok, 3,2,1" He released the pixies into the classroom.
"Petrificus Totalus!" Someone shouted.
"Very good!" Lockhart called. The pixies started attacking people. Romilda Vane ended up stuck on the light. Well, the pixies carried her up there. Spells rushed through Emily's head. Suddenly she'd got it. Harry had sent her a book of spells for her birthday last year. It had been hard to get it as Uncle Vernon and Aunt Petunia were completely anti-magic. But she'd gotten it.
"IMOBULUS!!" She shouted, her wand pointed at the huge gaggle of pixies. The cloud of pixies froze. Everyone looked at her shocked.
"Very good Miss Potter!" Lockhart smiled as he came out from behind his desk. Ginny and Emily smiled at one another. "10 points to Gryffindor!" The Gryffindors all smiled.
After classes were over for the day Ginny and Emily joined Ron and Hermione outside. Suddenly they saw Draco come over to Harry. Emily smiled until she realised how mean he was being. The 4 kids joined them.
"At least no one on the Gryffindor team had t buy their way in. They got in on pure talent" Hermione smirked as she finished her statement.
"No one asked your opinion. You filthy little Mudblood" He snarled at her. Hermione looked extremely hurt. Emily stared at Draco in shock.
"You'll pay for that Malfoy!" Ron growled at him. But due to his wand being broken the curse backfired and hit Ron instead. Hermione and Harry took Ron down to Hagrid both scowling at Draco the whole way. Ginny took Emily away from Draco but he hurried after her.
"Emily!" He called once they were inside. She spun around. Her eyes were filled and with tears. "Please!"
"No! You can't be a dick then just be like oh I didn't mean it!"
"That's strong language for a First-Year!"
"YOU THINK I CARE!!" She shouted. Draco was left speechless and Ginny and Emily entered the Gryffindor common room.
As they sat down Emily let the tears pour out. She couldn't believe she'd actually kissed the jerk! Never again! Not ever. Somehow she knew he'd try to make it up to her.
