CHAPTER 4

Henry, Vivian, and Derek stood frozen, their minds reeling as a herd of panicked stegosauruses thundered past, pursued by a menacing fleet of black helicopters. It could only be the work of Xavius and his henchmen. The choppers thundered on, disappearing into the island's interior, leaving the trio to ponder the sinister purpose behind their mission.

John Hammond had been duped. The deal had seemed perfect: a wealthy investor would buy Jurassic Park and transform it into a thriving tourist destination. But the investor had a dark secret - a madness-fueled agenda that threatened to destroy everything Hammond had built. Racing against time, Hammond rallied a loyal team to counter the impending disaster.

Vivian's head shook slowly, disbelief etched on her face. What could Xavius hope to gain by reshaping Jurassic Park and terrorizing its ancient inhabitants? A pang of sorrow struck her heart as she envisioned the majestic creatures they had just witnessed, driven away by the relentless choppers.

"This is more than just a takeover," Henry muttered, his brow furrowed in concern. "They're searching for something specific."

Vivian nodded grimly. "Something of immense value, judging by their desperation."

Derek's eyes hardened. "Let's get to the bottom of this."

Vivian's voice was firm. "It's too risky. We can't afford to confront them blindly."

Henry's gaze turned thoughtful. "I think our best move is to head back to the Visitor's Center. We might uncover Xavius's plan, find some answers." Derek and Vivian exchanged a weighted glance before nodding in agreement.

Vivian's car was a sleek weapon, its black paint glistening like a predator's coat, the tinted windows reflecting the setting sun's fiery glow. The powerful engine hummed to life as the trio set off towards the Visitor Center, the fading light casting long shadows across the landscape. Conversation turned to the mission ahead, a mix of determination and trepidation hanging in the air.

"I doubt we'll like what we find at the Center," Vivian said, her knuckles white on the wheel.

Derek grunted. "Just hope we don't walk into a trap."

Henry's voice was steady. "We'll face whatever comes our way. We just need to stay sharp, adapt."

Vivian's foot came down hard on the brakes. A flock of velociraptors burst from the trees, their deadly forms a blur as they raced past the car. The vehicle shuddered with each pounding step.

"What's spooked them?" Vivian asked, shooting Henry a glance.

"They're not hunting," he replied, shaking his head. "They're running from something."

A chill ran down Vivian's spine as a lone figure emerged from the gloom. It was Project X, the monstrous hybrid rumored to be Xavius's crowning achievement. With inhuman speed and grace, it outpaced even the fleeing raptors, dispatching the last with a lethal swipe of its clawed hand.

Project X halted, its gaze locking onto Vivian's car. Eerie yellow eyes fixed on the trio, and the creature sank into a crouch, its body tensed to strike... then a chopper thundered overhead, its spotlight pinning Project X. The hybrid froze, torn between attack and flight.

In the heart of Jurassic Park, Dennis Nedry hunched over his console, fingers flying across the keyboard as he muttered to himself. Xavius had promised him a fortune to track down Project X, but the park's antiquated system was proving to be a nightmare. His frustration grew with each passing moment, the pressure mounting.

"Come on, you damn beast," he snarled at the screen. "I need to find you, and fast!"

"This system is a disaster... I'll have to take drastic action if I don't locate you soon!"

His outburst earned him glares from the nearby engineers.

Nedry scowled at them. "Mind your own work. Can't you see I'm on a deadline?"

The engineers turned back to their monitors, but not before Nedry caught their skeptical expressions.

Then, a triumphant smile spread across his face as the data he needed finally appeared. He had Project X's location, as well as Vivian's car... and the ominous chopper hovering above.

A smug smile twisted his lips as he dialed Xavius. "Sir, I've found them."

"Excellent," Xavius purred. "Leave the rest to me."

Nedry's smile faltered. "And my reward?"

The line went dead. Nedry glared at the phone, his anger rising.

The night air was crisp, the moon hanging low and fat. The chopper circled above, its presence foreboding.

Xavius's orders had been clear: Vivian, Henry, and Derek were to be taken alive. The chopper was armed with tranquilizers, ready to strike if the trio interfered with Project X's retrieval.

"I want them unharmed," Xavius had growled.

The pilot's voice came through the comms system. "Understood, sir."

The gunner loaded his weapon, his finger resting on the trigger. "Target in sight."

Vivian's gaze locked onto the chopper. "We can't let them take it."

Henry's hand shot out. "No, Vivian, it's too dangerous!"

But Vivian was beyond reason. With a snarl, she floored it, the car surging forward.

The gunner's finger tightened. "Firing now!"

Project X let out a deafening roar as the dart struck home. But even as the tranquilizer took hold, the hybrid found the strength to charge.

Derek's yell was drowned out by the screech of tires, the world tilting wildly as the car flipped. The last thing Vivian saw was Project X's enraged face, before everything went black.

When she came to, they were surrounded. Xavius's mercenaries hauled them from the wreckage, their guns trained on the trio.

Henry struggled against his captors. "Where are you taking us?"

The merc only smirked. "Dr. Xavius wants a word. You're coming with us, whether you like it or not..."
