Chapter 3: School, homework, and a salty doughnut
Allison quickly got ready for school. Her hair was tied up in a blue ponytail, her icy eyes sparkling like the ocean. Her blue shirt matched her indigo earrings and her blueish pants, and her purple dress shoes matched her socks. She pulled Allen out of bed. "Come oooon!"
Allen groaned, his voice muffled by the pillow. "Five more minutes..."
"Five minutes turns into five hours! Come on, I'm gonna meet Jason on the walk to school!"
Allen sighed. "Let me change." He changed into a green sweatshirt with a blue shirt underneath and red pants, with comfy shoes. He came out of the room only to be literally dragged to the kitchen for breakfast. "Sis, calm down, it's only 5:30!"
"Yeah, I only have a few hours!" She said, smiling. Allen groaned, surrendering himself to her reach. She quickly gave him his breakfast and lunch. Aron came downstairs and ate his breakfast. Soon, the three were ready to go.
Allison sat outside, waiting for Jason.
"Dude, he won't come for at least another hour."
Allison nodded. "That's fine. I'm pretty sure Vanessa's coming over, too."
Allison hat met and befriended Vanessa during lunch. Aron choked on his breath. "Wait, really?"
Allison giggled. "Yep, she texted me."
About an hour later, Jason had skateboarded over. "Hi!"
Allison smiled. "Hi!"
The two talked.
Aron anxiously watched the sidewalk. Soon, he saw her.
Vanessa was skating down the sidewalk. She was just as surprised to see Aron as Aron was surprised to see her.
"Hi." She said.
"Greetings," Aron said.
Allen came outside with three bikes. "We ready to go?" He asked.
Vanessa nodded.
Allison was having a little trouble getting on her bike. Jason saw this.
"Hey, you wanna try my skateboard?"
Allison nodded. "Sure!"
Jason took the bike while Allison got onto the skateboard. Soon, the five went to the school.
At the school, Jason, Allen, and Aron locked the bikes. Allison gave Jason his skateboard back. "Thanks!"
"Hey, no problem." Jason smiled.
Aron and Allen shared a look.
Vanessa then tapped Aron's shoulder. "I'm going to class. See you."
"Bye." Aron got his stuff together.
Allison and Jason had their first and last class together today.
"Hey, want to head over to my place after school?" Jason asked.
Allison smiled. "Sure!"
She texted her mom.
"Mom says it's fine!"
"Okay, cool!" Jason smiled.
They went to their first class for the day, a math class.
Allen and Aron went to their classes. Allen was in Culinary Arts and Aron was in writing.
Culinary Arts
Allen saw her again.
Lilly was making something.
"Whatcha making?" Allen asked.
Lilly jumped. "Eep!"
"Whoops, sorry, didn't mean to scare ya. So, whatcha doing?"
Lilly smiled. "I-It's Okay. I-I'm making a d-doughnut."
Allen smiled. "Cool!"
Lilly reached for the sugar, accidentally grabbing the salt, and mixed the ingredients. Then she cooked her creation. "We're s-supposed to make s-something as a p-project for th-the first day, so y-yeah."
Allen nodded. "Okay. I'm gonna make some cookies."
He eventually made his cookies.
"Alright class, let's sample your dishes."
Allen sampled Lilly's doughnut first, and he immediately noticed something was wrong.
"Ack!"
"A-Are you alright?"
"Too much salt!" Allen said, quickly downing a cup of water. Lilly's face turned red as a tomato.
"S-Sorry!" She squeaked.
Allen nodded. "It's ok, I'm not dead."
Lilly giggled.
The teacher walked over. "You must have mixed up the salt and sugar," She said. Lilly nodded. "Y-Yeah."
Allen gave people his cookies. They weren't bad, but they weren't really that good either.
Lilly giggled. "A-at least we're b-both learning."
Allen nodded. His heart skipped a beat at that giggle.
She's adorable, he thought. I'm sorry I can't trust you...
The bell rang and Allen went to his next class, leaving a confused Lilly behind.
Writing
Aron sighed. Vanessa wasn't in this class. He'd begun to like her as a friend. Just a friend.
Or maybe something more?
No, just a friend.
But she's cute, beautiful, and kind, not to mention funny.
Well... she did have a good sense of humor.
Ugh, stop it, brain.
Aron looked back up at the board. He was so confused. He had never felt like this before; in fact, he wasn't even sure if it was love or just a weird after effect of something. He went back to working, finishing the pretest essay. Turning it in, Aron sat back with a sigh. The class was a bit boring without her.
At least I'll see her next class.
He smiled at the thought. The teacher gave him free time since he was done so quickly, so he texted her.
Aron (A): Hey
Vanessa(V): Hi
A: I have free time
V: Me too
A: So whatcha doing?
V: Texting you, silly
Aron giggled. What a sense of humor.
A: Clever.
V: Haha :3
A: See ya next class
V: See ya
Aron put away his phone. The bell rang, and he quickly rushed to his next class.
Math
Allison skipped to class, holding Jason's hand. He smiled.
She's so cute when she's happy.
"We're here!" She said, almost singing. Jason laughed a little.
"Yes we are."
They sat down next to each other. Jason sighed. "I am terrible at math..."
"Well, don't worry, we can help each other out!"
"I guess so."
They worked on their pretests, and once they finished, they immediately got a worksheet. Jason and Allison worked together, figuring out the problems one by one. Eventually they finished the worksheet. Allison smiled. "That wasn't too hard, now was it?"
"No, actually." Jason smiled.
It's kinda funny. I haven't really smiled in months, maybe years, but she makes me smile so easily.
Allison looked at him. "Is something wrong?"
"Huh? Oh, no, not really. I'm just thinking about something."
"Okay!" Allison chirped, smiling.
Jason then got a text from Harvey.
H: You ever going to ask her out?
Jason's face slowly turned red. Allison, confused, tried to see what was texted to him. Quickly he turned off the phone.
"D-Don't mind it, it's nothing, haha!" Jason awkwardly said.
Allison smiled. "Okay then."
Then, the teacher made his way to the front of the class.
"Class, I will be giving you a homework assignment. Please complete it by tomorrow and bring it back."
The bell rang. Everyone got a homework assignment and left.
"See ya, Allison!" Jason said, smiling.
"See ya!" Allison smiled.
They left to go to their next classes.
Throughout the school day, the triplets didn't have any classes together. However, they ate lunch together.
