News: 6/25/19-7/31/19 Leave of Absence

Hello, Junie here. First off, I just want to thank everyone for supporting this book and allowing me to read and critique so many amazing books here on Wattpad. I always enjoy helping people grow with their writings and with critiquing and promoting, this has became an amazing way to do so.

As you may have noticed, requests for promos and reviews are currently down at this time. This is temporary as my personal life is quite busy at the moment, I have reviews to catch up on for the GRA (for those who don't know, it's a group of critics who help Pokéfic writers with their writings), and other projects to finish up. Something has to be put on hold, and it's hard for me to make the decision that this is the project I have decided to put on hold. My goal is to open this book back up for requests no later than July 31st.

With this temporary close, I figured I would revamp the requests a bit. I have a few ideas on how to improve this. For these improvements to be successful, I would like your help with feedback (whether you like the ideas or not) and suggestions on how to make this service better.

1.) Interviews:

As many of you know, this is an optional, and unique opportunity writers can choose if they want to help gain readers, or give an opportunity to talk about their books more. I enjoy doing these, but through doing so many of them, I've realized a slight problem to this option: time zones.

Time zones can prevent a nice flow when conducting these interviews. So, an idea I have is if you agree to do an interview, I'll be sending questions in groups of 2-3 at a time. Each will be numbered so that when you, the writer, requests this option, you can answer in response to the number. All I ask is that answers have the corresponding number to them.

For those who haven't been through one of my interview processes, a majority of my interviews were done by coming up with a date and time, and hoping that we would finish it in a decent amount of time. Other times, I'd ask if "now" (at that moment) was a good time to do an interview, and squeeze it in then.

My hopes is that with this new process, the writer/interviewee isn't stressed during the process. This option of participating in an interview, of course, would still be optional. What are your thoughts to this new interviewing process? Do you think this would be better, or do you have any other suggestions on how to run an interview process?

2.) Public vs. Private Reviews:

Requesting a review can be nerve-wracking. In the past, I just made every review a public review (unless requested through the GRA, then it would be private) in hopes for the writer to gain more readers. After critiquing for a while, I realize that not all writers may want that. It's because of this new thought that I'm going to introduce private reviews.

How will this work? Well, that's up to you. I would love to hear your thoughts on the matter as I have two ideas.

A.) Google Doc it.

I can send a google document through private message of a review that I write up (just like the reviews you see here, but without the interview, added information, and all that jazz).

B.) PM conversation.

With this idea, I will read the book, and let you know through PM messaging how the book is doing, what I like/didn't like, while I'm reading it. This would allow for a more conversational-like review.

So, what are your thoughts on these two options? Is there an idea you like more than the other, or is there another way private reviews can be conducted that you would like to share? Private reviews are something I am going to start up, so for writers that I've helped in the past, if there's a review I did for you that you would like me to unpublished, please contact via PM so that I can unpublish it.

3.) Other New Stuff for the Future:

At this point, I have rules that I'm going to implement from now on. One is a quick contract that when by allowing me to do a review, I am allowed to pick it apart and tell you what needs improving, along with telling you what's all great about the story (and remember, this is one person's thoughts. My ideas/likes/etc can be different from another person). I'm also going to make my rules a bit clearer, as I will be implementing these new rules. There will be a limit on how many reviews/promos I do at a time (3) but the amount of your books I review/promote will be infinite (of course, you can only request me to review/promote 3 at a time, and the book does have to be published)

I'm also thinking about doing is random promos. This is with the writer's permission, of course, that if I find a book I'm really enjoying, I'll do a promo for them. Doing random promos won't happen for a while, and that may take some time figuring out the details to that.

4.) Suggestions?

Are there any suggestions on how this critique/promo book should be ran? I can't promise I'll implement them, but I do value you're opinions as this is a service I am doing for other writers, not myself.

Thank you for reading. I can't wait to hear from you all on what you think. This book will be reopening no later than July 31st. If a request is made before then, I won't be responding until I have time to do another review.

If you would like your book to be reviewed ASAP, there are other critics who would be more than happy to review. I know that my good friend, blue___22 , has agreed to take reviews if you would like someone to review your book during this time. Please follow her rules, let her know that Junie sent you over, and be patient in however long she needs to read your book and create a review. She does an amazing job on her reviews and is well worth checking out the work she's done.

That is all I have to announce at this moment. My plan is to come back to work on some more reviews on the last day of July. By this time, I should be caught up on the projects I've fallen behind on and should be ready to read more books to review and promote.

So, until next time, good luck on your writings, fellow writers. I'll be back before you know it.
