^Chapter 2^
A/N: Hii, please star and don't forget to add Contract to your libraries... thank youu please enjoy 🥺
Oppa?!
"L-Llets just be f- friends" You sputtered out, thumping your chest with your fist.
Yeonjun watched you cough and put a hand on your shoulder, he rubbed it. Your insides are gone. They don't exist anymore.
"Are you okay?"
"NOOO!!!" You roared, moving as far away from his touch as possible.
He looked hurt for a second, so you smiled sheepishly and rubbed your arm.
"Oh sorry... I'm really sore... I was kicked for 11 hours."
Now Yeonjun looked deeply concerned and somewhat... mad?
"Oh! Oh no, I wasn't beaten up or anything like that. On the- There was a kid kicking my seat on the plane."
You awkwardly stand between the tall confused boy and the table. why isn't he saying anything....
Yeonjun continued to stare at you while your eyes darted around the terminal, not wanting to make eye contact. Your face blanked when you realized for your entire Korean life, most of your "culture" had come from KDramas, and you were entirely unsure of what to do in this moment. You opened your mouth to say something, but by the grace of Park Chae-Young, you were prevented form embarrassing yourself further.
"Ya! Are you guys coming or not? I found a Fried Chicken place by the Incheon gate."
Fried Chicken...
You and Yeonjun momentarily idled before rushing to the location Chae-Young was gesturing to. Since it was around 2 am, there was no line and no tables taken. The three of you snatched the remaining fried chicken baskets in the heated fridge and sat at the nearest table. You ripped open the basket and shoved a piece in your mouth only to spit it back out.
"Shit! Ow..ow."
You looked at Yeonjun and Chae-Young sheepishly.
"It's a little hot."
They exchange looks and laugh before opening their own baskets.
You decide to start up a conversation with these new people.
"So... do you mind me asking how old you guys are?"
Yeonjun shook his head and answered, "I'm 17, but I have an early birthday so I'll be 18 soon."
"I'm 19." Chae-Young stated matter-of-factly.
You blushed, they were a good 3 years older than you.
"I'm almost 16, but I guess since Korea is one year ahead... I'm almost 17?"
They nodded. Yeonjun stood up and offered to go get chopsticks and sauces.
You looked up at Chae-Young, who was on her phone.
"Hey Unnie... Are you and Yeonjun dating?"
Chae-Young looked at you slowly before smiling widely and giggling.
"Ha ha, no no. We're just friends from the dance team at TXT."
She waved her hand as if to slap your question away, then smiled bashfully.
"He's not my type anyways..." She looked like she might go on further, but Yeonjun appeared next to her.
He smirked, "You have a type? Psh... don't talk nonsense."
Chae-young stabbed his arm with the chopsticks he handed her, Yeonjun winced.
"Ya! Is that how you talk to your Noona?! Aish... It's like you want me to kill you."
Yeonjun chuckled and looked at you, spinning a finger by his head to call Chae-Young crazy. You smiled.
"Y/N-ah... your smile is so pretty! You should be an Idol. Right Yeonjun?"
Yeonjun looked at your face and looked down into his basket and started to stuff his mouth with Chicken pieces. Chae-Young wiggled her eyebrows and mouthed "he thinks so" to you. Your face heats up and you mimic Yeonjun by putting your face down into the basket.
-
Coincidentally, the three of you had all booked the same flight to Seoul and were loading on to the plane along with your duffel bags. Yeonjun was flushed from carrying all three people's duffel bags, which he insisted on carrying yours, which only made it fair for him to carry Chae-Young's.
"5B... Oh thank you..." A boy around your age gestured to the seat next to him, you said goodbye to Yeonjun and Chae-Young with sad smiles.
You immediately noticed the TXT patch embroidered on his jacket.
"Are you going to TXT too?" You asked politely.
He looked at you and sheepishly covered the patch.
"Oh,yeah." He chuckled.
"My mom made me wear the uniform even though school starts tomorrow."
"The uniform..?" You squeaked.
The black haired boy nodded vigorously.
"Yeah. You need one... I think they have them there so you should be fine."
He noticed you checking your wallet and said
"Their free for first years... all you need is your ID."
You sighed and tucked your wallet into the duffel bag by your feet.
"I'm Choi Soobin, by the way." he added
You nodded and introduced yourself as well,
"Jeong Y/N"
He smiled lazily and looked at the tv on the back of the chair in front of him, you observed him momentarily, taking note of his bunny like features.
You put your hand on your cheek and stared at people's shoes in the aisle.
Psst
Your earbuds fell out of your pocket and on to the floor.
"Oops."
You reached down and grabbed them only to be hit by something small and dull.
"Ow..."
A pack of gum was in your lap with a smiley face sticker on it, you turned in your seat to face your attacker.
"Hi~" Yeonjin's monkey-like smile greeted your surprised face.
"What are you doing?"
"Regifting you gum."
"Oh thanks."
"Chae-Young told me to give it to you." He winked and leaned back into his seat behind you.
You returned to face frontwards with disappointment, you kind of wanted Yeonjun to give you his gum. Not Chae-Young's... You shook your head, what were you thinking... you just met this kid.
You noticed Soobin eyeing the gum pack in your hand.
"Here" You exhaled, handing him the pack.
"You can have it."
Soobin gratefully took the package and popped 2 pieces in his mouth. You inserted your earbuds in your phone and proceeded to watch the KDrama episode you downloaded specifically for the flight.
-
Choi Yeonjun put the three duffel bags by his feet and plopped down in the chair opposite of the women's restroom. You and Chae-Young needed to wash up so Yeonjun yet again ended up with all three overstuffed duffel bags. His phone chimed.
Jisung: Hyung
Yeonjun: jisung-ah~~~
Yeonjun: What
Jisung: Did you get off the plane okay?
Yeonjun: Yess
Jisung:Did you eat?
Yeonjun: Of course
Yeonjun: Don't worry about me little bro, this year is going to be different for hyungnim.
Jisung: Hyunggg! You said that last year. :(
Yeonjun: Ya I'm serious
Yeonjun: Tell Omma I said hi~
Jisung: Bye... >:(
Yeonjun grinned. The amount of affection he had for his only sibling was impossible to weigh. There was no girl that could make his heart swell as much as his little brother's laugh did.
"Yeonjun-ah~"
He looked up to meet your eyes and smiled cutely. Chae-Young grabbed her duffel bag and thanked someone over the phone.
"My Sunbae is going to drive us to the school" She looked around for the baggage claim.
"he should be here in 10 minutes."
You bit your lip uncomfortably.
"My aunt is driving me to the school... I appreciate the offer though!"
Yeonjun and Chae-young looked disappointed for a split second but nodded.
"Let's exchange numbers, so we can make sure to see eachother again."
Chae-young tapped her number into your phone and you hesitantly typed yours into Yeonjun's. The three of you grinned at eachother before saying goodbye. Yeonjun stood awkwardly while Chae-young hugged you tightly then extended a fist which you accepted.
"See you later then?"
You nodded vigorously, which you kicked yourself for.
"Text me....?!" You yelled after them hopefully.
Yeonjun span around and threw you some finger guns. Click click.
Your face glowed with enthusiasm after an unexpectedly amazing 4 hours with your new friends and you half walked half skipped to your baggage claim to wait for your 3 suitcases.
You scanned the signs obliviously before reaching in your pocket for your boarding ticket.... your boarding ticket?
Ah shit...
*flashback*
Yeonjun took your boarding ticket and duffel bag. You watched him carefully.
*present*
Your face scrunched as you relived the awkward moments between you and Yeonjun. Your phone chimed and you whip it out, nearly throwing it across the room, hoping it might be Yeonjun.
Auntie: Y/N~~~~~ What terminal are you at?
You looked up anxiously, and ran your hands through your hair.
"Y/N-ah?"
A familiar boy wearing a TXT sweatshirt standed beside you.
"Are you okay?"
You looked at him.
"Soobin! Oh my god, you're about to save my life."
He stiffened unsurely, not sure what problems he was about to help you solve.
"Which baggage claim is ours?"
Soobin pointed at the one to your right.
"Thank you so much! Um... you wouldn't happen to know which terminal we're in...?"
Soobin chuckled,
"Terminal B"
You thanked him again and texted your aunt.
Y/N: Terminal B 🥰
Auntie: Ok
"So are you good?" He asked, still confused and slightly dazed from the flight.
You nodded and gave him your most genuine smile along with a hug. He stiffly returned the hug, and smiled largely before awkwardly exiting the conversation.
"I'll see you then."
You exhaled deeply and started making your way towards the heap of suitcases circling around the wall of digital boards.
-
Your aunt closed the trunk of her van, it was a large vehicle, but barely large enough to fit the 7 children living in her home. She swiped the loose hairs from her face and gave you a giddy look.
" Your stomach is going to have the time of its life today." She said to you after driving out of the terminal pickup line.
"Yep. Our first stop...." She drummed her fingers against the steering wheel in suspense.
"Jjajangmyeon"
You clapped with excitement, the only jjajangmyeon you had in Hawaii was the instant kind. It was pretty good, you couldn't lie, but authentic food was always better than pop in pop out meals.
After an hour of singing to BTS and the GPS rerouting at unsatisfying times, you and your aunt had managed to pick up a large serving of the chewy noodles and their savory black bean sauce.
"Wow...These noodles are unbelievable , auntie."
"Better than the instant version?"
You nodded vigorously and continued to finish the noodles on your plate.
"Eat slowly.."
Your aunt set her chopsticks down and watched you eat.
"I'm glad you can be away from all the Wolagaga drama, Y/N."
"Waikiki" you corrected
"-and yeah, since it's only for the time being."
Your aunt glanced at her feet suspiciously, but you didn't think anything of it.
The table vibrated and your aunt reached for the phone beside her plate
"Oh-this is your phone." She peered at the screen.
"Choi ...Yeonjun texted you a picture of a ticket"
You momentarily paused chewing. Of course he decided to send that now...
"But... why does he have your boarding ticket?" She asked, reaching over the table to hand you your phone.
"Because I'm a mess" you said softly. Your aunt chuckled a bit at your expression.
"Yeah... you are... Well, at least we can now be certain you are your father's child."
You flashed a dry smile, but you could tell your aunt was sincerely comparing you to her clumsy brother. You tapped through to KakaoTalk and viewed Yeonjun's profile. Your smile immediately grew when his profile picture popped up. Ah...Cute
Your aunt smiled warmly as she watched you grin idiotically at your phone. She rubbed her hands and collected the now empty noodle dishes and left to find a place to dispose of them.
You continued to scroll through your phone, oblivious to the shaky young boy slowly approaching you. You felt a light touch on your shoulder that shook you out of your trance, your head whipped around to face the small boy, who's finger remained touching your sweatshirt.
"Um.. Can I help you?" You glanced around, looking to see if the kid's parents were around.
He looked at you and pinched the fabric of your hoodie. Your body felt cold, a feeling of unsureness gripping your stomach. You took hold of the boy's tiny fingers.
"Are you lost? Are your parents here?"
He shook your fingers off and pointed at the text on your hoodie.
"You know Waikiki? Waikiki Tag?"
