My eyes open and some faint source of light filters through. My eyelids flutter open and I see a blank, white ceiling. My heart races and my eyes fill with tears. I still feel the pain from where his fangs pierced my neck. I reach up to touch the wounds when I feel a sharp prick in my wrist and the inside of my elbow. I see an IV and a clear liquid being pumped into my veins. I yank it out and some droplets of blood drip off my arm.

I have no idea where I am. I see a clipboard on my bedside and I grab it. I now realize I am in a hospital. My heart races even faster as I scan the page. My eyes stop on he phrase at the bottom: Coma; three years

The heart rate monitor beeps and a nurse barrels in. She sees me sitting up and screams for the doctor. All of a sudden, it seems like a hundred people have filled the room. A crying woman hugs me, and my face drops when I realize she must be my mother.
