Soulmate Au pt.2

Jumin had noticed his mark was gone when he finished giving Jaehee his information and some work. He sat as his desk, glancing at her to see if she noticed hers was gone but only saw her concentrating on the assignments he had given. Occasionally, she would come in with papers he'd need to sign or ask if he'd need anything. He rested his head on the desk and thought this over. How could the universe be so cruel as to put him in this position. On one hand, his soulmate was sitting right there. Unknowing that she was his person. One the other hand, he literally just met her and hired her. They were on a business relationship now.

"Mr. Han?" He lifted his head to see the center of his thoughts. She looked at him curiously and almost worried.

"Yes, Assistant Kang?" He said, recovering quickly and calmly.

"Would you like me to get you anything?" Jaehee asked. He shook his head.

"No, thank you. I'm fine, just finish your work," He hadn't meant to sound so harsh but he felt a little embarrassed and wanted her a little further from him than what she was now. She nodded and went back to work. He wanted to concentrate on work as well but couldn't, not with her there. Not with the information he knew. If she had noticed anything off about him, she didn't mention it. He kept thinking about how to approach this. His mother always said that when you find your soulmate to never let them go. Did she have this possibility in mind when she said that? Suddenly, he found he was looking into her eyes again. He didn't know he was staring until then.

"...Am I doing something wrong..?" She asked him.

"No, no, you're fine! Um, you're actually doing a wonderful job. My last assistant wasn't as hardworking," Jumin said, much to his surprise. He never really complimented or flattered unless it was to get someone to agree with him. She seemed surprised for a moment too before a small, confused smile etched her face.

"Thank you, I think," She said and looked back down at the paperwork before her. Jumin then realized that he didn't know how to go about this whole soulmate thing. Which brings him to his everlasting question. Did she know?!? This was honestly a bit stressful. Should he ask V about this? He supposed it wouldn't hurt. Jumin decided to ask his friend about it after work. If only to give himself some false sense of peace about the situation so he could focus.
