Be My Boyfriend

"Jaehee! This is serious! You're almost 30!"

"Ugh, don't remind me. Still, I have 4 more years until then," Jaehee said over the phone with her cousin. She has been trying to set Jaehee up with diffrent men that she's friends with in Jaehee's area but they didn't seem like guys she went for and ended up leaving before the date was actually supposed to end.

"Jaehee! You need to have a baby soon! You're not getting younger!"

"Babies? Um, I don't know. I kinda already catsit. That's kinda the same thing, right?"

"No..."

"How?"

"It's harder..."

"Then why do I want a baby?" Jaehee asked. She cradled the phone between her shoulder and ear before carrying the papers to Jumin's office.

"Fine, you don't have to have a baby. It'd be so adorable though!" Jaehee knew that her cousin was a baby fanatic. Hell, she just tried to get Jaehee to have one. "Anyways, you at least can't die old and alone. Which is where I come in!" She said and Jaehee could almost imagine her striking a superhero pose.

"Hold on a moment, Mina," Jaehee said as she dropped the papers on Jumin's desk and pulled the phone from her ear. "Mr. Han, I have finished the cat wine project you wanted. Is there anything else you need me to do?"

"Yes. Could you please get me something to drink. I really don't want to leave this chair and just finish this work," He pleaded even if he knew she'd do it anyways.

"Coffee? Water?"

"Anything is fine," Jumin said. He thanked her as she left the room and Jaehee put her phone up to her ear again.

"Hello?"

"Hello! Who was that?! He sounded handsome..." Jaehee almost rolled her eyes at the sentence. Oh, God, not her too. "He was my-"

"Boyfriend?! Please say yes! Jesus, I need you to say yes! He'd be so good!" Jaehee thought for a moment. Could she really use Mr. Han like that? As an excuse to stop her dates?

"Yes. He's my boyfriend," Jaehee said as she filled a cup. Mina squealed from the other line, making Jaehee's ear feel numb for a moment before Mina calmed herself.

"No wonder you always left early! Did you only agree to satisfy me? You could have just told me all along..." Mina said. Jaehee sighed before making her way back to his office.

"I'm sorry, but you have to hold on for a moment again,"

"You're talking to your boyfriend again?"

"Sure," Jaehee said before opening the door. "Here you go, Mr. Han,"

"Thank you. You can set it on the corner there. I'll get it," He said and Jaehee did as told before leaving to go to her own office.

"What's his name?" Mina asked once Jaehee got on the phone again.

"Jumin," The name felt a bit foreign to her lips, having called him Mr. Han for a majority of thier relationship.

"Hair color?"

"Black,"

"Eye color?"

"Black,"

"Where does he work?"

"C&R building. He's the chairman's son,"

"You work there, don't you?"

"Yes. I'm his assistant,"

"Hahaha, that's great. Can I meet him?" Jaehee paused for a moment.

"I'm sorry?"

"You know, meet Jumin!" Mina asked and Jaehee froze for a moment. She knew it was a terrible idea to use her boss as her fake boyfriend. She was in way too deep now though and she certainly doesn't want any rumors of her having a crush on Jumin going around her family or outside the family. If he was her boyfriend, it would be quick and they wouldn't tell because they'd all assume everyone already knew but if she were to admit he's not, then she become a laughing stock. The choice was simple.

"Y..yes," she coughed before she trained her posture. "Yes, you can meet him. He'd be glad to meet you,"

"Ah! Then I'll be at your house this Saturday!" Mina said as she hung up. It's Thursday today, not giving Jaehee much time to work with. She was nervous as she made the walk of shame over to Jumin's office. She shyly knocked on the door, hoping it would be light enough to where he wouldn't notice but things never work out her way.

"Come in," He said and Jaehee sighed. This is where she dies. She opened the door and made her way to his desk, not making eye contact and rubbing at her arm nervously. Jumin noticed this immediately and got worried. "What happened? Are you okay? Did someone hurt you?" Jumin asked and Jaehee shook her head.

"Um," Jaehee started.

"Jaehee, are you okay?" He used her real name this time. Just tell him, you're making him worried.

"Mr. Han, how would you feel about secretly dating me? On Saturday?" Jumin stared at her for a moment before motioning for her to explain. "Okay so my cousin, Mina, she has been setting me up on dates. She wanted me to get a boyfriend then she heard your voice and she thought you were my boyfriend. I thought it'd be okay to say yes to get her off my back but apparently she's going to visit me Saturday and I need you to be my boyfriend. Please be my boyfriend," Jaehee said in a rush. Of all the things she expected, a laugh wasn't one. She looked at him to see a smile on his face and a wholehearted laugh escaping his lips.

"Why didn't you just say so? Here, call her back. It'll seal the deal more if she sees you in my house,"

"Why?"

"Most of your stuff is there, of course," Jumin said.

-----------

"Woah..." Mina stared wide eyed at the huge house in front of her. She looked back and forth at each guard as the stood post at the front gate. "Excuse me. My name is Mina. I'm here to see my cousin, Jaehee Kang," One of the gaurds looked to the other before pressing the intercom.

"Mr. Han, a woman by the name of Mina said she wants to see Miss. Kang,"

"Send her up," The man's voice from the phone call with her cousin answered. So she wasn't lying! Mina had some doubts after the call since she kinda just assumed but smiled to herself as she apparently guessed right.

"Jaehee~" Mina sang as she entered the house. It took a moment before Jaehee made her way to her.

"Mina! It's nice to see you," Jaehee said with a smile.

"It's great to see you too! Is this your house?" Mina knew Jaehee was doing great but wasn't sure she'd be doing this great.

"Oh, no! It's Jumin's," Jaehee said, the name still feeling foreign despite knowing the man for two and a half years.

"Really? Oh, that's right. You said he was the chairman's son,"

"Yes," Before Jaehee could say anything more, she jumped at the feeling of a hand falling on her shoulder. She looked to see it was Jumin.

"Ah, you're Mina, correct?" Jumin asked, looking at Jaehee's cousin. Mina stared for a moment before a blush covered her face.

"Oh my god... I didn't know Jaehee could get someone so attractive! Hell, I know I couldn't!" Mina said and Jaehee laughed inwardly, trying not to make a sound.

"Of course she could. Sometimes I need to keep other men in check at the office," Jumin said and Jaehee couldn't help but hear in his voice that he was telling the truth.

"Really? Wow. They must have no class, going after a taken woman,"

"You're right about that. Now, lunch was just about to start. Would you like to join us, Mina, or have you already ate?" Jumin asked and Jaehee smiled. Not everyone could stand Mina so it was nice that he could.

"Yes! I'm so hungry... I'm glad I finally get to eat!" Mina said, grabbing Jaehee's hand and nearly dragging her while following Jumin. Mina and Jumin carried a conversation until Jumin looked at Jaehee, who had not been paying much attention this whole time.

"Jaehee," Jumin said and Jaehee stood at full attention out of habit. Whenever he called her her real name before this, she knew to keep her eyes on him and her ears open to what he had to say.

"Yes?"

"Mina asked a question,"

"Oh, I'm sorry. What was it, Mina?"

"Well, he's very handsome and you're pretty attractive yourself... Why not have babies?" Jaehee laughed at her cousin who was the ever obsessed baby lover.

"In due time," Jaehee responded.

"Hey, you two," Jumin said, catching the girls' attention before leading them into the dining area. Mina was in awe at how fancy the whole house looked and turned to Jaehee.

"You live here too, right?" Mina asked. Jaehee decided to nod and Mina smiled. "That's so wonderful! Don't you get lost?"

"I have this house memorized. I don't exactly get lost very easily," Jaehee said, telling another truth.

------------------

Jumin and Jaehee had done a lot of things they wouldn't normally do when Mina was around. For example, when Jumin would pull Jaehee closer by her waist, she'd try to reach to kiss his cheek or Jumin would hug her from behind, swaying her back and forth while burrying his face into her neck as she talked about something to Mina.

Mina would only comment if Jaehee looked surprised but that was only once or twice as Jumin noticed that Jaehee quickly got used to him being this close to her. He even kissed her neck once but the only reaction he got was a laugh at how it tickled and her just resting a hand on his head as long as he continued.

Jumin noticed that Jaehee liked getting this affection and that she wasn't going to be the one to stop him. He could've scoffed at her if he could just lie and say he didn't like it.

-------------

"Bye, Mina. Say hi to everyone for me," Jaehee said.

"Will do! And don't worry! I'll turn every single guy down for you!" Mina said with a wink as she drove off. Jumin looked at Jaehee to see that a smile played on her lips and then looked at the sky, noticing how dark it had actually gotten.

"Hey,"

"Hm?" Jaehee responded in a hum.

"It's too dark. You can stay in your room," Jumin said, referring to her room in his home that wasn't very far from his own. In fact, it was literally only one wall away.

"Thank you,"

"Don't thank me for letting you stay in your room," Jumin said, laughing a bit as they made thier way back inside the house.

"No! Not just that, you idiot. Thank you for being a pretend boyfriend,"

"Oh, okay. Well, that's a better reason to thank me then," Jumin said, smiling a genuine smile at her. Meanwhile, as they went inside, one of the gaurds guarding the gate sighed.

"They. Are. Hopeless," He said in an annoyed type of voice.

"Watching those two flirt is like watching a train wreck. It's horrible but nobody can fucking look away," His friend agreed with him, becoming just as frustrated looking at the relationship that Jumin and Jaehee held, as awkward as it could get.

"Fuck it, I'm gonna say it," The guard pressed the intercom button to communicate with Jumin. "Kiss her, god damnit. Everyone is waiting," It took only a moment for Jumin to respond.

"Only if she wants to kiss me, you fool," He responded. Honestly, he thought he'd be yelled at by Mr. Han but no. Jumin was just waiting for Jaehee to make the first real move.

A/N: This took forever but I hope you like it. Longest chapter. It ended up being 1,970 words with the author note.
