The Prince

The Prince paces back in forth at the news of the Capulets getting closer to Juliet's discovery. If they found her, Montague was sure to get his hands on her. He had to think of something quickly. He orders a few of his men to go to Mantua, but he wanted some to stay near Verona. He was sure that Juliet wouldn't have ventured too far, but it was better to be safe than sorry.

"Prince Nicolo," One of his guards approaches him, kneeling, "If I may."

"Yes, speak," he pokes his head up, and forces his pacing to a halt.

"According to a scout, they believe that Juliet was taken by someone."

Prince Nicolo raises a brow, "What evidence makes them believe such stories."

"On the outskirts of Verona, near a tavern on the way to Mantua, people claim to have seen a woman in noble clothing wondering about. There are also many who say that she was carried off by a man in a cloak." He details. "While these could just be rumors, I think that we should invest it to make sure of that, or else we may lose Juliet for good your highness."

The Prince frowns at this news. It was true, that these could just be rumors, but 'a noblewoman wondering about', it had to be Juliet. "Search around the area and continue to ask around for more clues to be sure."

"Yes, my lord." The guard says. He stands to his feet and goes to announce the orders to the others.

Prince Nicolo allows his distraught for the earlier news show. He did not want anymore misfortune to befall the girl, but now it was possible that she could've been taken. His mind wonders to the worst possible scenarios. He was barely capable of keeping himself from jumping on a horse and riding off to find Juliet, but he had to remain in Verona and keep an eye on Lord Montague who schemes of doing away with Juliet, and Lord Capulet who was all too silent for his liking. Last he saw him, Lord Capulet didn't seem all that interested in finding his own daughter, as he seemed to be in the tomb. The prince was staring to believe that it was all for show, and that he like Lord Montague was scheming something, yet careful not to let his misdeeds show.

These two families were going to become the death of him if he didn't do anything soon, that is if they didn't wipe themselves out already. He closes his eyes allowing the stress that the Montagues and the Capulets have caused him in the past few days, slowly slip away. He wanted so desperately to purge the two houses, but there were innocents among each house and to do such a thing could stir the people into a panic. He didn't want to lead those amongst him into chaos, but as long as the two Houses continued to feud, then chaos was the only path headed for his city state.

Prince Nicolo shakes his head, he was too overwhelmed to think . He needed to rest his head to reclaim his calm about the situation at hand. As he begins to retire to his room, a guard rushes through the corridors and sloppily kneels before him, "My lord," He wheezes out, trying hard to catch his breath.

"What have you found that has made you rush?" The Prince asks the guard. He stays as calm as possible, though he was now feeling fearful that something worse may have occurred.

The guard swallows a breath, to get it under control, "Lord Montague, it seems he has sent his nephew to Goito. He took off with haste on horseback, I felt it was urgent to tell you right away my lord." He speaks quickly, almost biting his tongue several times.

"Goito?..." The Prince ponders why Lord Montague would send his nephew there instead of straight to Mantua. The city was not too far off, though not many would choose to visit, for there was very little there that the city could offer, "Follow him, but don't let him see you. Make sure you don't lose sight of him. Now make haste."

"Yes, my lord." The young guard says and quickly runs off to go follow after Guilelmo.

The Prince feels a tad faint, the blood rushing to his head. Lord Montague's cunning was going to be his biggest challenge. He had to find Juliet fast, or else things would become complicated, and he was not prepared for such an outcome. He leans against the wall. The chill of the stone cooling him from the heat of his own pumping blood.

At this time, he was in no condition to do anything. He enters his chambers and falls to his bed without the removal of any of his attire. He closes his eyes and drifts off to sleep. While, the prince was worried over many things, he fails to realize that his orders had made the security of his castle diminish. Many of his soldiers and guards were out searching, or spying on that of Lord Montague or Lord Capulet.

There were few guards within and around his castle, and both Lord Capulet and Lord Montague were taking notice of this. While Lord Montague brushes this off too consumed by his plot against the Capulets, Lord Capulet investigates. He didn't trust Lord Montague to keep his word and knowing how close he was to the Prince, he couldn't quite trust him either. Both were suspicious and hiding something and possibly plotting against, it was these suspicions that led Lord Capulet to decide on staying hidden, not only that, but it would be soon that his wife, Lady Capulet, was currently with child. He wanted to keep the child a secret, especially from Lord Montague.

As much as he wished that the feuding would end between the two families, so that his dear Juliet could return safely without worry or harm, there was no reality of that as long as Lord Montague was alive. On that, the feud continues to thrive, building up in the silence of the Houses and the search for Juliet sucking in many that were not apart of the two households. Verona was now set to fall to bloodshed, by one of the three most powerful men in the city, and the ever present anger and schemes hung over Verona like a dark cloud.
