Searching

The Prince sits in his chambers re reading over a letter that arrived just yesterday from one of his men that he had sent to Goito. It was evening now, but he could not help but feel more hopeful as he read over the letter. He had managed to find Juliet, but so had the Montague that was also in the city. He couldn't yet secure the Capulet girl, but he hoped that a time would come so that he could progress in bringing her back to Verona. The Prince was ecstatic to hear such news, but also worried as the Montagues were also close. If Guilelmo gets his hands on Juliet, then there was no saving her. He thinks of something quickly in order to get Juliet to safety.

As he thinks, one of his guards runs in kneeling, "My lord, another letter has come. He said it was urgent that you read it." He takes out a letter and holds it out to him.

The Prince raises a brow receiving another note so soon, and though the distance was quite short between the two cities, he was quite surprise to receive one so soon after the other. He takes the letter and reads it.

It seems that suspicions were correct. Juliet has indeed been kidnapped, but fortunately not by the Montagues. I found this news early in the night when I heard a commotion that woke me from my slumber, fearing that Guilelmo Montague had gotten a hold of Juliet. I rushed down to see what was going on. It was then that I spotted a man placing Juliet on top of a horse. I could not get a good look of him, but Juliet called him Aleron. Before I was able to do anything, the Montague came out bearing teeth and the two had ran. It looked as if the two were headed west. By the time you receive this letter, I will already be out looking for them, but I encourage that you send more men. I assume that Lord Montague will soon learn of this news and send them headed after the two, the man with Juliet is of my most concern, he seemed deadly and crafty. I will not be able to handle this task on my own.

The Prince frowns at this letter. He backs into a pillar and leans against it staring at the paper in his hand.

"My lord, is everything alright?"

He shakes his head, "Quickly call for Raimondo, send word to those in Mantua to head west and to search the cities near Goito first."

"Yes, my lord," He says and takes off quickly.

An hour later, Raimondo kneels before him awaiting his Prince's orders.

"Hurry and be brief, or time may be against us. Any word of Lord Montague?" The Prince asks pacing before him.

"Just a little, it seems he's ordered Mercutio and Mathusela out of Mantua. Word says that they are heading west." He speaks fast.

"So they know..." The Prince whispers to himself. "And of Lord Capulet."

Raimondo shakes his head, "Nothing so far. He's been quiet for quite some time, my lord."

The Prince nods, his suspicion of Lord Capulet rising. It was too quiet for his taste, and his intuition was rarely wrong. "One more thing. Find out want you can on a man named Aleron. Report whenever you can find anything."

"Understood, my lord." Raimondo says and hurries out to carry out the Prince's orders.

The Prince looks out. He could barely make out the house of Lord Capulet. While Lord Montague was cunning, Lord Capulet was slier than a fox. He managed to slip many things by without ever being noticed. He did not act upon his instincts for the reason that he would seem accusatory of the Capulets and that he was siding with the Montagues since he and Lord Montague had often been on good terms, and he wanted to stay neutral in their rivalry. If there was no one to mediate, the city would stir into chaos and a civil war could possibly draw out. Exaggerating circumstances, yet it was not too far off from the truth with these two Houses.

For now, he would just try to take it one step at a time, and with that he desperately needed to bring back Juliet, but he swore to no end that the rivalry between the two families would come to an end, whether by peace or force only time will tell, but the madness was going to end one way, or another.

Jiovanni awaits for the men of his lord to arrive. The afternoon sun was high in the sky, and he was keeping track of the hours that Juliet had gone. So far, it had been a total of 16 hours and there was no telling how far she and the man with her had gotten. He looks towards the sky in hopes that luck would be on his side and he would find her once again.

Not too long later, more men had arrived. Jiovanni split them up into groups to spread out the search, sending one group Northwest and the other Southwest. He, himself, took a small group West to Brescia. It was the closest city he could think of in searching, and even if they weren't there, they would have to rest, and that city was the most likely place for them to stop. He and the others quickly head out, galloping along the road without furthermore delay.

Back in the city of Goito, Guilelmo sits in a tavern awaiting Mercutio and Mathusela arrival. They were taking far too long to arrive, and with no horse, he couldn't go anywhere. So he sits there drinking ale, wondering just how that women managed to steal his horse from under his nose. For him, it proved his suspicions of Juliet, that she was just as bad as the other Capulets. Until he finds her himself, he would not let go of this moment. He was only temporarily on hold. He would indeed find her again, that was a promise.
