Running From Trouble
Juliet arises to the sound of a cock in the distance crowing at the rising sun. She looks around the room to find Aleron was not there, but saw his cloak in the corner. She vaguely remembers him sitting by the bed last night, and wonders what he had been doing. She moves to sit up and notices a cloth wrapped around her leg. She touches it lightly and miles, "So, you can be a gentlemen after all." She whispers to herself, feeling that Aleron may not be as bad as he let on.
Aleron comes through the door with a tray of food in his hand, "Good. You're awake." He places the tray on her lap. Juliet had not realized how hungry she was until she smelled it. Her stomach lets out a loud grumble. Before her was a piece of fish and a freshly baked roll. It was nothing like the food she used to eat at home, but after two full days without any food or water, she held no concern of the matter and eats the food. It was a miracle she had not passed out on the road.
Aleron watches amazed that a lady of her social class would even deign to eat such a thing, let alone devour a meal as if it were her last. At first he assumed that he would have to force, but seeing her rip into the bread with her teeth, he knew that wouldn't be the case, and realizes how hungry she must have been all this time. Juliet becomes sated after finishing her meal. Aleron hands her a cup a water. "Drink, you must be parched as well."
Juliet nods taking the cup in her hand and slowly gulping the water. She feels more refreshed as the liquid slides down her throat.
"Now, we should begin on the plot. The faster we end them, the better or else risk a greater chance of being caught." Aleron starts and is about to continue when he hears a commotion going on outside. Aleron stops and goes to the door.
"What is it?" Juliet asks concerned.
"Probably just a quarrel. You stay here. I want to make sure of something." Aleron leaves the room and walks out the inn. Once out, he sees a man shouting at the stable boy. Aleron assumes by the intensity of his anger that he is the owner of the horse he had stolen the night before. He goes to check on the horses he had taken. Seeing that they were still in place, he moves the horses carefully and quietly away so as not to get caught. He does not stop even after he reaches a distance where the argument could not be heard. He continues until he feels at ease.
Meanwhile, Juliet sits impatiently in wait for Aleron to return. Her foot taps lightly against the wooden floor. She stands up and starts pacing back and forth, contemplating obeying Aleron's orders, but he was taking too long. Curiosity spreads through Juliet, wondering what Aleron could potentially be up to, or if he had gotten caught up in whatever petty squabble was happening outside. Either way, she did not just want to sit and wait around any longer. She leaves the inn heading outside. Her attention is immediately drawn towards a man bickering with a young stable boy. Juliet recognizes him, his face all too familiar. She stares wondering why a Guilelmo Montague would be all the way out here in Goito.
That's when Guilelmo turns and meets Juliet's eyes. She freezes as the two stare at each other trying to grasp if the reality before them. He begins to move towards her, on his face he wore a scowl, eyes filled with anger and Juliet was not sure if those feelings were directed at her or the missing horse. She runs back inside the inn with haste. She reaches the room and shuts it tightly and hides in the corner wishing she had obeyed Aleron. She sits quietly, holding her breath. She could hear his boots squeak against the hard wood floors as they shuffle back and forth within the hall.

Jiovanni watches the events unfold from his window. He was mostly shocked to see Juliet as she came out of the inn safe and alone. Though he was more focused on the angered Guilelmo as he stormed to get Juliet. The girl ran quickly and Guilelmo soon follows after. That's when the man decided to take action. He runs over to the other inn to get Juliet before Guilelmo managed to silence to poor girl. He finds Guilelmo going up and down the hall looking like he wanted to just break each and every door down. The man quickly backs away and hides in watch of the Montague's actions not allowing himself to be seen.
He continues until a very furious innkeeper marches by him and goes straight to Guilelmo and warns him to stop scaring away his guests. Guilelmo frowns at the man, but concedes leaving the inn but not going too far from the place. He decides to wait elsewhere until Juliet comes out of whatever room she went into and tries to run off. She could not stay in there forever. The man watching him also had no choice but to wait. He stays within the inn after greeting the innkeeper who allows his casual stay if he helped around with the chores.
As Jiovanni works around the inn, he spots an intimidating man coming into the inn. He watches as the man goes up to the keeper and asks if he had any suitable clothing for a woman that he could spare. The innkeeper graciously gives him a petite modest dress. The man takes the dress thanking the innkeeper and walks to one of the many rooms. It becomes midday before he realizes that Juliet won't be coming out any time soon, and he did not wish to get kicked out by the keeper by trying to charge into the guests's rooms. However, he takes a bit of time to send a letter to the Prince of his findings in Goito, and a promise to get Juliet and bring her back as quickly as possible.

After taking care of the horses, Aleron returns to the inn mentally reminding himself of Juliet's dress. It was too high fashion in contrast with his clothing and currently torn and muddied. He goes to the innkeeper who had taken quite the liking to him and asks him for one. Lucky enough the keeper had a spare from one of his many daughters. While giving him the gown he makes a comment about 'Aleron's wife' saying, "The beauty of your wife his appealing, more so than sun that the poor thing was chased back inside. Best to keep her locked in a tower." He jests.
Aleron believes that the keeper is confusing him for another, but after another thought. He realizes that he was referring to Juliet. Aleron keeps from frowning and forces a chuckle, "A wise man, you are. I guess I'll have to plant my seeds in haste in order to keep her presence hidden." He replies then excuses himself to go to Juliet.
Aleron hurries to the room he shares with Juliet. Opening the door, he sees her huddled in the corner, frightened. She calms when Aleron comes into view, "Where were you?"
"My business is nothing of your matter." He frowns. "If anything you should be the one explaining why you went outside when I specifically told you not."
Juliet pouts, not wanting admit that she was worried over him. She gets up, "I have no reason to explain if you wish not to share your business." She says stubbornly.
"You do if you were seen. That means we cannot stay here. We have to go elsewhere, somewhere farther. Possibly Milan."
"Milan!" Juliet jumps up. "But that's a day's journey away."
"That is true, but we have no choice now. Once word of you being here spreads, we'll be trapped in this city and you'll be caught." Juliet stays silent at this. "It is too risky to try to leave now. We'll leave in the night, until then, we have time to talk about the plan, if we can escape this city without any interference. Now, listen carefully and this time don't disobey my orders."
Juliet nods and sits up. She was amazed that he had not raised his voice and managed to even keep a bit of calm though she could feel the anger he had at her stubbornness and disobedience. As much of always, this was her fault and she had managed to set them back even more. She reminds herself that after to tell him that who she saw that was after her was not of her family, but of the rival family of her own. She begins to worry that more complications than necessary have arrived since she had run, but for now she could only trust in Aleron and that he would be able to handle the mess that she dragged him into.
