𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐆𝐈𝐄 Coleman cleaned off his aviator sunglasses on his dark jacket before placing them gently atop his daughter Farah's head. She giggled and tried to replace them on his face. He grinned proudly once she got it on perfectly on the bridge of his nose before glancing towards the camera.
"Okay, okay," Naomi hastily sighed, as she sat down beside them with the Colemans' second child, two-year old Josiah, who was licking on a lollipop. "All Jo knows how to do is complain, I finally got him to quiet his lil' ass down." she glanced towards her husband and he smiled gently as he pat his daydreaming son's head through the wonky gaze of his red hue sunglasses.
"You pick up the cards?" he quizzed.
Naomi groaned as she squeezed the bridge of her nose. "I think I placed them down somewhere back there. Damn, bruh." she tutted, just about to rise to her feet again when Reggie pulled them from behind his back like a magician.
"Since you so forgetful, I'ma start." he cheekily replied. Naomi rolled her eyes before relaxing back into her seat. "How are your respective businesses going years later?" he read, glancing at his wife. "Wanna start, baby?"
"Gladly. Well, Beau Boutique is thriving better than I would've ever imagined in The City. It's wild that I was shittin' myself, when I made the move a couple years ago. The one back in Pullman ain't having too many issues either." Naomi explained proudly, "Was good that you called out Rochelle, baby,"
Reggie rolled his eyes at the mention of her name. For years, Mr. Coleman had had a growing disdain for his wife's previous employee, who didn't hesitate to make it known that she had an inappropriate interest in her boss's partner. When the move was going underway, she tried to make a move on Reggie, which quickly led to her being dropped from the business deal altogether, expecting him cheat on his childhood sweetheart. "That girl was delusional, could smell that shit from a mile away."
"Yeah, she really played in my face for years. I even had to drop some of the other girls, 'cause they were encouraging her damn ass antics," she kissed her teeth, leaning into her husband's side. "What's the next question, 'fore I get myself mad?" she pouted.
"Before that, Sabbath has been thriving for the most part. Stressful but after completing New York Fashion Week, I've got a lil' more free time for this bunch." he explained, smiling down at their kids.
Since all the preparation to get his clothing line to where it is, he was glad that he was able to now watch his kids grow up. His time had been stretched so thin when it was just Naomi and him but he was so grateful that they still stuck beside one another. He wouldn't trade his life for the world.
"Things have been much smoother, just chasing after these lot is our next mission. Josiah could be a damn track star," she huffed, making Reggie chuckle, as their son giddily smiled back up at them, cooing half-English words and the newest slang of baby gibberish.
"Are you planning on having any more kids?" he flipped to the next card, smiling mischievously and side-eyeing Naomi. She frowned, tutting and rolling her eyes, causing him to chuckle.
"He ain't givin' my ass a break." she sighed, "I know you said you want a big family, but damn! Azzie has just given birth, so go rock her newborn, I need a break." she laughed.
"I want a big ass family." he smiled widely at the camera, folding his arm fully around his wife. "I think they need a lil' brother soon," he nodded to himself, looking down at her. She pinched his lips.
"If you gon' carry him." she retorted, he snorted into laughter. "Maybe in another year, but the girls have been poppin' out babies left and right so we got enough lil' ones running around for now." she finished. Renee and Azyrah both had sons, and Nessa had just successfully gotten pregnant through IVF, and from the looks of it, it could be twins. So, it was safe to say they all had their hands full. Naomi saw it as her way of letting her uterus breathe.
"How was your birthday?" Reggie read off the next card, groaning. "You know, I ain't one to be surprised but what y'all had planned was real cute. They all walked in my most recent show, was real cute. Come to find out, it was my beautiful wife behind it all. How'd you put that all together?" he looked over to her with a proud smile, she was already grinning.
"It was hell," she laughed, "The crew are so busy that I had to get them to book time out months in advance. Luckily, we'd already been talkin' 'bout meeting up at some point this year for one of our birthdays and it made sense around Reg's and Azzie's birthdays, so it aligned perfectly. Then his assistant, Tristan, was an absolute saint in getting the pieces together to fit us all. Thankfully, it all went to plan, he was very surprised." she explained, laughing at the memory of his face when he first watched James walking out on the runway.
"Considering they'd never done it before, everyone walked that runway well. Surprised but proud." he chuckled. "What are the next plans for the crew? That's the last question." he finally read, "I'm not completely sure, honestly. We were plannin' a get-together for Christmas but that's still in the works. Just so busy."
"We gotta find a new Rolla, ain't got nowhere to link anymore, so it just makes it so awkward." Naomi laughed, Reggie nodded.
"But if you had to ask me, for real? Just good things, blessing and whatnot. I just got a feelin' we all got good things coming." he smiled softly. Naomi grinned back at him, leaning close to place a kiss on his cheek, pulling their little family into a warm hug.
