The applause of raindrops fell down in tranquil sheets. The smell of petrichor permeating through the closed windows, creating a calm warm atmosphere for those indoors.
Gojo Satoru sat cross legged on the floor of his apartment in front of the television with a bowl of Soba noodles in his hands. The white haired sorcerer aptly watched in amazement, eyes flitting between the two bickering characters on the screen.
If anything, Gojo was a huge fan of family drama and never missed an episode. The gossip, lies, deceit and overly exaggerated slaps seemed to captivate him to the point of him sitting transfixed, almost oblivious to the real world, each time.
Soaked into their world he watched, mouth parted in awe as the characters yelled at each other, aggressive body language denoting an oncoming smack from one of them.
A sharp pang shot out of his wrist, temporarily pulling his attention away from the TV.
Satoru looked down to see the full bowl of untouched noodles stare angrily at him, pressuring his wrist from holding it awkwardly.
He dug his chopsticks in and twirled some around lifting it to his mouth. But his hands remained poised mere centimeters apart from his parted mouth, eyes glued once again to the screen.
Just as presumed a rather instigated woman struck out hard at the other female character the sound of the slap reverberating for many seconds later as the scene was played repeatedly in slow motion again.
Satoru stared completely mesmerized by the sound effects and fire that was reflected in the angered females eyes. A single noodle fell with a splash, back into his bowl, splattering, the now lukewarm broth onto his face, while staining his white shirt.
Not even a single flinch on the part of the sorcerer who had his limitless technique taken down, so amazed and taken was he by the nonsensical drama on screen.
To his chagrin the show halted for a commercial which made him frown in discontent.
A warm hand reached out and wiped his chin for him. Snapping his head, he found the love of his life, Suguru Geto study him with endearment floating in his hazel eyes.
"Someone's daydreaming in front of the TV again. Look your noodles are all soggy now." He chided taking the bowl from Satoru.
"I didn't hear you come in." Satoru grumbled in greeting.
"Yeah, you were pretty engrossed in that junk. I did yell out 'Hi' many times. You're decaying your brain with this nonsense." Suguru said tapping his finger on Satoru's temple with a small chuckle.
"It helps me unwind, it's not like I am hooked or anything." The blue eyed man pouted indignantly.
Suguru propped his hands onto the back rest of their sofa, peering at Satoru from behind it.
"Oh yeah? Well then you're probably really lost about what's going on this week then..." Suguru quipped, biting is lip to keep from laughing.
"No. Oh my God! This week Natasha's gonna find out about what Opal did with her husband. Ooooh!!!! And, and Nathan is so dead because his dad found out what he did to the business and-" Satoru's verbal update was halted with Suguru bursting out into a chuckle.
"Not hooked, huh?" He commented, eyes dancing with mirth. He spun around making his way to the kitchen.
Satoru followed him, trailing behind him closely.
He noticed Suguru pocket something and the curious cat in him almost asked about it when he heard the soapie come back from break. Satoru dashed back to the lounge.
Ten minutes later, at the end, Suguru switched the lights on, ruining the dark ambience that no doubt would draw his lover into the next soapie.
"Heyy!!" Satoru protested when Suguru switched the TV off.
"I wanted to see the teaser for next week's episode!" Satoru whined.
"Let it be a surprise... you can shock yourself with the predictable outcomes next week." Suguru replied dryly with a smirk.
Satoru harrumphed crossly, pink lips forming a cute pout. Suguru leaned forward and kissed it away, melting the frown away from his Satoru's face.
"Ohhoo look at you being all cross. Little death dandelion!" Suguru teased, deepening his voice and baby talking to his partner.
Satoru avoided his gaze still bristled, mouth pouting again which puffed his cheeks out.
"Awww little Pandemonius Puff!" Suguru exclaimed pinching Satoru's cheeks before pressing a kiss on both.
A small pleased smirk lifted the ends of Satoru's mouth.
"Ohh is that a teeny smile on my Fluff Fury?" Suguru asked in a smothering voice, ruffling Satoru's snowy hair affectionately.
Satoru preened under Suguru's attention, cocking his head to the side and rubbing his face against Suguru's palm.
Suguru tickled under his chin and then broke away taking his partner by the hand and sitting him down at the dining table.
"I am starving and I am sure you are too. I got us take out because I have zero willpower to cook right now." Suguru said, piling Satoru's plate with crumbed chicken thighs and cheesy jalapeño fries.
Satoru slurped his cold soba up and began chomping immediatly on his fries.
"Sho how waz your day?" Satoru asked his partner in between chewing.
Suguru nibbled on so chicken before shrugging.
"Not so bad, didn't absorb many curses today. I have tomorrow off by the way."
He added off-handedly.
Satoru perked up at that, blue eyes lighting up.
"I have work tomorrow, but it's just one mission. Want to go out after?" He asked peering over at Suguru with a clear pure gaze.
"Mm sounds great. There's this new cafe that opened. It's a refined elite place that serves tea like the royals. It only opens around 2 pm and takes reservations only. Wanna try it?" Geto slipped in, running his index finger over the rim of his glass casually.
"Ohhh yes! Imagine the desserts they'd have! Let's make a reservation." Satoru suggested already salivating at the thought of the sweets.
"No need... I uh, have one for us. I would have simply shifted the dates till you were available." He replied with a red tint to his cheeks.
Satoru stared blankly at him before swiping a chicken wing off Suguru's plate, chomping on it heartily.
Suguru sighed to himself, relieved that his plan was going well.

"Suguboo you home?" Satoru yelled at the the door while kicking his shoes off.
Satoru prowled through the house in search of his partner.
"Hunny!?" He tried again checking all the rooms.
And then it hit him.
"Oh shit!" He cussed smacking himself in the face.
In a flash he slipped his shoes back on and tunneled out of his place, landing outside of the coffee shop he agreed to meet Suguru at.
Suguru tapped his finger pointedly on the table, bouncing his knee with impatience. Satoru agreed to meet with him here for their date. But he was late. Actually late was an understatement, the dandelion haired man had messed up big time.
Satoru dashed into the Cafe loud heavy footsteps and hyped frenzied behavior a stark contrast to the dark wood, intimate light fixtures and jazz music. He rushed passed patrons disrupting their calm romantic mood.
He found Suguru sitting at the back of the Cafe right under a small intricately carved chandelier.
'Awww so romantic...' Satoru paused taking in the table Suguru chose for them.
Suguru narrowed his eyes and then turned his face away.
Huffing out loud and attracting attention of disgruntled customers, Satoru dragged his chair forward in a hurry to get settled.
The wood squeaked and scraped against the floor causing everyone in earshot to cringe and clap their hands over their ears. Suguru's cheeks grew red from embarrassment, he gritted his teeth and glanced at his partner from the side of his eyes.
"Sorry boo, I got so late. I had to help Haibara and then another separate mission came up... and then I dashed home only to remember we were gonna meet here. Wooh! Sorry about that, ah man I am beat. You okay? Did you wait long?" He huffed and panted, trying to smooth things over with his explanation.
Suguru shifted and grunted with an upset tone, refusing to meet his eyes.
"I've been sitting here long enough to tell you that my cup stopped steaming half an hour ago. I watched the ice from your Frappuccino turn into water and I've had the waiter ask if I am alright." He replied sarcastically.
Satoru grinned sheepishly taking in the pool that melted off from the condensation of his drink.
Suguru pouted, brow furrowed in a deep frown he only had when he was genuinely upset about something. Satoru's heart sank, he hated making his love so sad.
"I really have no excuse hunny, I really am so sorry Suguru. I planned on coming sooner but-"
"But your missions got in the way again. You should try using that little rectangular device next time. It works to make calls and send messages. Saves people their time too." Suguru grunted standing up quietly.
He left a tip and the money for their drinks on the table and walked out, broad shoulders growing distant from Satoru.
Satoru sighed, disappointed with himself, he walked out with his head hanging down and portalled back to their place.
He knew Suguru would want to be alone and he'd be back soon. Talking to him now would only aggravate him more.
Satoru flung his dark shades onto his bedside table carelessly and ripped his jacket open. Changing into comfortable pajamas he waited for Suguru in their lounge, a hand flung over his eyes. He was exhausted and needed to sleep.
The front door clicked open a couple of minutes later, followed by Suguru's deep melodious voice announcing, "I am home." In a dejected note.
Suguru's long bangs curtained over his face, blocking the handsome view from Satoru's eyes as he trudged into the lounge and slumped down next to Satoru. He exhaled through his mouth, breath drawing out in a long sigh.
A quiet pregnant silence hung over them which grew continuously making them both uncomfortable.
"I am sorry Suguru, I should have called you. I should have just left as soon as I was done before Gakuganji caught me for that extra mission."
"No it's my fault, I overreacted. I understand how work gets. It's just... nevermind..." He said shaking his head.
"No, what's up?" Satoru pressed, turning to face him fully.
"Nothing I am just tired. I-I am gonna take a nap okay." Suguru tossed half heartedly before leaving the lounge.
Satoru sat numb, body stiff, unsure what to do now. He jutted his bottom lip out frowning in thought.
And then an idea hit him.

Suguru woke up an hour later still cranky and irritable. He padded out with a crabby look of annoyance in search of his partner.
The aromatic smell of freshly roasted coffee beans wafted through the air, a tranquilizer for his sour mood.
Suguru stopped and inhaled, the smell of strong coffee hitting him with a strong sense of need and desire. The caffeine lover was prodded and Suguru looked around wildly, eyes dilating.
He traced the scent to the balcony where he found Satoru standing against the railing, hands slid into his pockets with a cocky smirk.
"I knew you'd take the bait. Coffee junky." Satoru grinned.
His skyscraper legs stalked over to Suguru, pulling him in for a tight hug.
Suguru relaxed, clinging firmly to Satoru's broad back.
"I decided to have our date here..." Satoru whispered, drawing attention to the perfect layed little round garden table that sat in their spacious balcony.
White linen hung over, clothing the table in an elegant drape. Gold cloth napkins were folded elegantly with the different spoons tucked into it.
A ceramic coffee pot with delicate gold swirls and cherry blossom flowers sat steamy in the center with two large V-shaped teacups sitting next to it patiently waiting to be sipped from.
Satoru lifted the glass dome that covered the three tiered cake stand with different sweet treats and sandwiches.
He held the chair out for Suguru with a charming smile and placed a kiss on his cheek once he was seated.
He poured Suguru a cup of strong aromatic coffee handing it to him before pouring one for himself, dousing his with a ton of milk and multiple cubes of sugar.
Suguru smiled affectionately, his partner was his perfect opposite.
They ate through the different treats, both savory and sweet until their stomachs resisted the thought of another bite.
Suguru sat gazing at the sunset with his hand propped up on the table, chin resting in his palm.
"Suguboo?" Satoru called.
The dark haired sorcerer hummed in reply, eye's fixed on the skyline, taking in the golden hues melting into a caramel orange.
"I just wanna appologise for being late again. The place you picked was so perfect, I feel awful that our date was wasted in such a beautiful place." Satoru said with regret laced in his tone.
Suguru inhaled calmly and closed his eyes, enjoying the time he spent now with Satoru more that he would at the Café.
"It's alright Toru, this was so much better." He said softly, lost in the beautiful warm fuzzy atmosphere that blanketed them.
"What I love is how you picked something we could both enjoy. Coffee and sweets." Satoru said with a grin.
Suguru huffed out a laugh.
"We're perfect for each other. You're like strong coffee in the relationship, powerful, energetic. You wake me up and jolt me to action." The blue eyed man complemented with a laugh.
Suguru shook his head a smile curving his lips.
"And you're the sweetheart. Refreshing like a sweet treat in the afternoon. Being with you brightens my mood and makes me happy." Suguru said glancing at him lovingly.
His gaze flitted back to the sky eyes closing peacefully.
"Our relationship is perfect together we are like this afternoon tea, well coffee..." Satoru said chuckling nervously.
The note in Satoru's voice tugged at his heart. Suguru's his eyes flew open and spun around to face his partner only to find him on one knee holding out a ring to him.
Warm tears tided up his water line making him scrunch his brows and press his lips together to keep from crying.
"You're the coffee, I am the sweet treat. You're perfect for me. I love being with you. I feel alive around you. Do you want to spend our lives together, the perfect combo. How about a lifetime of us being the perfect afternoon tea together?" He asked holding the ring up with a limpid gaze that swam with love for the man who sat stunned.
A tear rolled down Suguru's cheek, a smile broke over his face.
"You beat me to it." He sniffed, face red with emotion, a watery smile on his face.
"Huh?" Satoru asked, smiling sweetly at his love.
Suguru pulled out a tiny box from his pocket and knelt down in front of Satoru, opening it to reveal a shiny gold ring.
He rolled his lips, fighting the grin that formed on his face.
"I love you Satoru." He stated, pressed a kiss to his forehead.
"You bring joy to my life, my perfect little snowflake." He said endearingly.
"Will you marry me too?" He asked with a chuckle, both of them now tearing up.
The two hugged, rocking each other comfortingly. Each other's anchor in life.
They pulled apart to place their rings on each other's finger.
Satoru placed a brief kiss on Suguru's lips. The two bumped noses affectionately and touched foreheads nuzzling each other.
"Love you." They said in unison, both high on their self created happiness and love.
"Come on." Suguru replied, taking hold of Satoru's hand, both standing up.
He lead them back to their room, where they both cuddled and shared the story of how they managed to hide the rings so long.
"So you were going to propose today at the Cafe? Awwwww Suguboo! You're so perfect I love you!" Satoru exclaimed.
"Mhm, but I think what you did was much more special. I love my ring by the way. It's just to my liking." He said hugging Satoru again.
"Aha, got is custom made for my best boy." Satoru bragged, winking at him.
Suguru blushed, holding his hand out to admire the ring again.
"How'd you find mine?" Satoru asked to which Suguru grinned sheepishly.
"I uhh went to the same store as you, but saw the gold coins, used my Jujutsu fire curse and kind of melted it to form a ring. I took it to the jeweler and got it polished. The detail on it I did though..." He admitted, staring shyly at Satoru.
The snowy haired sorcerer blushed and preened.
"Omg! That's amazing, this is personalized on another level. This is the best!" Satoru said jumping around the bed.
Suguru pulled him back down to his side with one strong arm and pressed a kiss to his lips.
"Glad you do..." He said trailing off, raking his hands in calming strokes through Satoru's hair.
Cyan blue eyes drooped with sleep.
"Rest now my snowflake, you had such a busy day." Suguru crooned holding him tight in his embrace.
The two fiancés drifted together into a beautiful lulled sleep, rings winking and shining on their hands.
Suguru and Satoru woke up later in the early parts of the night, both watching Satoru's favorite soapies while eating pizza cross legged on the floor.
Suguru rested his head on Satoru's shoulder, both watching the couple on screen admit their feelings to each other just as a heavy rain broke down on them.
Satoru laced his hand with Suguru's and placed a kiss on the back of his hand, a soft secretive smile on his face, the secret that only Suguru was privy to.
'Love you too...' Suguru thought matching the smile.
