Suguru sends his dragon cursed spirit towards Toji as it crashes into the wall.

"Kuina, can you stand?" Suguru says as he holds Kuina's shoulders.

"I can't do it, Suguru-san. Why did he have to kill Satoru of all people? Why my brother?" Kuina cries as tears fail to stop falling from her eyes.

"Kuina-chan, listen to me. The sooner we get rid of him, the sooner we can get Satoru to Shoko, but I need your help" Suguru says as she shakes Kuina, "you're the one with the Heavenly Pact. You know how they work the best out of all of us! Please, Kuina-chan. I know you're tired, I know you're scared and I know you're heartbroken and you want your brother back, but we can't get to him until we'll got rid of this man!".

The dragon flies by them, heading towards the large tree when Toji climbs out of the dragon's mouth, aiming his gun at Suguru and Kuina as he shoots five times. Suguru is about to use a cursed spirit when Kuina stands up. Suguru looks up at Kuina who's black hair turns white at the ends. Kuina's eye glow blue momentarily as the bullets fail to hit her. Kuina throws her arm out as the bullets travel towards Toji again. He ducks down as the five bullets hit the tree behind him.

What the hell happened to the brat?

Toji asks confused as he looks at Kuina who doesn't move, only her eyes which follow his every move.

"Kuina-chan" Suguru says shocked.

"I'm okay now, Suguru-san. We'll get back to Satoru in no time" Kuina says calmly as she doesn't break eye contact with Toji, despite how fast he's moving.

The dragon throws Toji into the hallways below that dip into the ditch where the tree stands in the middle of the large opening. Suguru and Kuina both jump down as they land near where the dragon crashed down. The two of them land in one of the hallways as they watch the cursed spirit dragon disappear, much to Suguru's shock.

"Don't be so impatient" Toji says as he walks through the dust made by the impact of his crash landing, "the Tombs of the Star and the Forbidden Vault use barriers that conceal" he says as he starts to walk to his right, "so they can't place guards at the entrance. As long as you know where the doors are, they're full of holes. Sorcerers are busy during this time of year, and Jujutsu High is brimming with fly heads right now. It's pure chaos outside. And since I have no cursed energy, it's like I'm the invisible man. There was one problem, though. If I wield a cursed tool, the cursed energy from it will stop me from being the invisible man".

Suguru holds his arm out to where he thinks Toji is walking above them as he sends out three cursed spirits, creating an opening in the roof.

"Now, there's more to this story" Toji says from beside the two of them as Suguru grabs Kuina's wrist, pulling her behind him, "see, I keep a cursed spirit capable of storing objects on me. So I usually put my cursed tools in it when I'm walking around" he says as he starts to walk to his right again, "you don't have to say it. Yes, that means cursed energy from the cursed spirit should stop me from being an invisible man. So I make the cursed spirit smaller until I can fit it inside my body. Then I keep it inside my stomach. After all, the organs of the invisible man are invisible, too, right? That's how I'm able to pass through any barrier while still carrying all kinds of cursed tools. That's also why I didn't use a cursed tool at first" he says as Suguru and Kuina continue to follow him, "a surprise attack on the Six Eyes would be pointless if I wasn't invisible. I could have killed the Star Plasma Vessel first, but the risk of the Six Eyes seeing me first was-".

"Enough. You have a heavenly pact, right?" Suguru says as he stops Toji from ranting on and on, "I know revealing information about your ability increases its fundamental strength, just like for a sorcerer. That's not what I want to know. How did you know which doors led to the Tomb of the Stars? You had Kuina gagged all the way here, and she wouldn't have told you anyway and told you to shove your mission up your ass and go to hell, so it definitely wasn't her who revealed the path. We didn't leave even the slightest of residuals".

"Humans leave plenty of traces aside from residuals" Toji says as he rolls his eyes, "like scents, footprints, and so on. My pact enhances all five of my senses, too".

"There should have been another woman on the way here, too" Suguru says as he balls his fists, "what happened to her?".

"Hmm? Oh, that maid" Toji says with a slight chuckle, "she's probably dead. I didn't care if she lived or died, though. If she's lucky, she might still be alive".

"Is that so? You really should die!" Suguru says angrily as he uses the same dragon to attack Toji who blocks its attack with his cursed tool.

"Suguru-san, above" Kuina says as she and Suguru look up and see the dragon taking Toji into the air.

Suguru uses multiple attacks but none work. Toji runs towards the dragon as he sticks his sword into its side, cutting along it as he runs past it. Toji lands next to Suguru and Kuina as they both turn to look at him.

"Curse Manipulation... riffraff" Toji says as he stands up.

The part of the hallway they're standing on starts to fall as Toji looks to his left, a cursed spirit look right at him.

A potential apparition? It deploys a simple domain that enforces non violence onto both of us until I answer its question, then?

Toji says as he pieces it together.

"Am- am- a-am I... pretty?" the apparition asks as it opens its mouth.

"Ah, well... then I'll just come out and say it" Toji says with a smirk, "you're not my type" he says as four pairs of scissors surround him, one pair cutting his ear, "so that's how it is?".

The cursed spirit on his shoulder gives him another weapon as he cuts the apparition, getting rid of its power.

"Idiot" Toji says as he glances under his arm, "it's over".

"For you!" Kuina says as she and Suguru appear from behind Toji, Suguru putting out his hand as he starts to take Toji's cursed spirit away from him.

Cursed Manipulation. It's a technique that let's me absorb cursed spirits that have surrendered, and freely manipulate them. If there's roughly a two grade difference in our levels, I skip making them submit and absorb them unconditionally. His cursed spirit may have a unique ability, but it's not that strong itself. I can absorb it. That'll lock down his armoury. Then I can just brute force him-

Suguru says as the cursed spirit nearly reached his hand. There is an electric shock between the two of them as Toji quickly swaps out his cursed tool, pulling out a sword as he slices Suguru three times on his torso.

"Suguru-san!" Kuina says in shock, unable to do anything since her limbs won't move, even though she was able to use Infinity earlier.

Toji jumps upwards and kicks Suguru in the chest as Suguru flies backwards, landing on the ground. The hallways lands on the ground, breaking due to its wooden structure as Toji stands there, Kuina lays there unconscious on the ground, Suguru near her as he tries to get to her in order to protect her.

"I didn't cut you badly enough to kill you" Toji says as he looks at Suguru, "I would have killed you if you were a shikigami user, but since it's Curse Manipulation, there's no telling what might happen to the cursed spirits you've absorbed after you die. I'd rather avoid extra trouble here. You have the blessing of parentage" he says as he kicks Suguru in the face, knocking him unconscious, "but even with that blessing, you were all beaten by a monkey like me who can't even use cursed techniques. If you want to live a long life, never forget that" he says as an imagine of Megumi flashes in his mind momentarily, "oh, speaking of blessings... that's right. I almost forgot. I named my son Megumi".

--- on Jujutsu High campus, above where Suguru and Kuina are ---

"What the hell happened here?" Haibara asks as he and Nanami stand above Satoru's corpse.

"I don't know" Nanami says as he kneels down and checks Satoru's pulse, "Gojo-senpai is dead, which means...".

"Kuina-chan and Suguru-senpai are..." Haibara says as there is shuffling from nearby.

The two of them look to their right and see Kuina walks up the stairs towards them.

"Kuina-chan!" Haibara says worriedly as he sees her carrying both Kuroi and Suguru.

Kuina makes it over to them as she puts Kuroi and Suguru on the ground. Kuina walks over to Satoru as she sits down next to him. She pulls his torso towards her as she holds him close.

"I'll kill him" Kuina says as there is a pulse of energy from underneath her as car alarms go of in the distance, the remaining building around them collapsing, as Haibara and Nanami look at each other in shock, "I'll kill him for what he's done here to day. He'll be fucking nothing once I'm done with him. I swear it".

Haibara and Nanami watch as Kuina stands up, walking off the campus, sword in hand.

"We need to get them to the infirmary and update Yaga-sensei" Nanami says as he picks up Satoru.

"Nanami, what do we do about Kuina?" Haibara asks as he watches Kuina walk off, her target set of Toji.

"Leave her be. She'll come back when she's ready" Nanami says as Haibara nods, picking up Suguru and Kuroi as the two of them walk towards the school.

--- a bit later in the day at the Star Religious Group headquarters ---

Toji and Shiu watch as a man lays a sheet down on the glass table in front of the two of them.

"Go on, now" Toji says as he puts his hand on his hip, his cursed spirit spitting Riko's corpse onto the table, right in front of the man's eyes, "the corpse of the Star Plasma Vessel, Riko Amanai. All four limbs intact, too".

"Hmm, indeed" the man says as he moves Riko's hair out of the way of her face, "we'll issue your payment as discussed. I'll even throw in a bonus".

"Thank you, Founder" Toji says as he looks at the man, "you're so generous".

"He's not the founder" Shiu says as he looks at Toji, "do you mean it? I know it was a necessary expense, but you've already helped us out a lot, too. I thought you'd complain a bit more".

"We hired you for the assassination expecting that it would fail" the man says as he puts his hands together, "our Star Religious Group was founded in the Nara Era, when Tengen-sama began preaching about the moral foundation of Jujutsu sorcerers, a minority, as Buddhism spread throughout Japan. Jujutsu society and religious corporations are at complete odds with each other. That strain is what gave birth to our modern Star Religious Group, the Time Vessel Association. That is also why we have devoted ourselves to remaining non-sorcerers. Jujutsu sorcerers are granted many privileges above the law, but they're still fundamentally forbidden to lay a hand on non-sorcerers. However, the time has finally arrived. The time of the taboo recorded in our scriptures! Our Star Religious Group has evolved to a monotheistic religion worshipping one absolute God! And it was now time for our object of worship to assimilate with that impurity!" he says as he wraps Riko up, picking her up, "if our believers saw us simply sit back and watch the assimilation happen, our association would crumble. Yet if we took excessive action, jujutsu sorcerers would crush us. So we were truly desperate. And how did it all turn out? We thought we were going to lose everything, and now we have it all! Of course that would loosen our purse strings".

"Human society might be what crumbles if Tengen-sama loses control, though" Shiu says as he puts an unlit cigarette into his mouth.

"If we should perish along with our star, then that is all there is to it" the man says as he glances over his shoulder at Shiu and Toji.

The man leaves the room as Toji signals that the man is crazy, Shiu chuckling slightly as he loosens his tie.

--- leaving the Star Religious Group headquarters ---

"Were you referring to Okinawa when you said they helped us?" Toji asks as he and Shiu make it to the bottom of the staircase.

"Yeah" Shiu says as they make it into the lobby.

"Why didn't you kill the maid then?" Toji asks as he looks at Shiu, "I know I told you, 'take her some place far away, and kill her at some point'".

"Because I had a good idea of what you were planning at the time" Shiu says as he glances over at Toji, "I made the call that the relief from the maid's successful rescue would wear him down more than heightened tensions from failure. You often ignored the lines of communication and toss out whatever I was planning, right? It all worked out in the end. And stop running your mediator ragged".

"Yeah, but why Okinawa?" Toji asks as the two of them make it outside.

"I had a laugh at that myself" Shiu says as he lights his cigarette finally, "normally, you'd use a car to transport a captive, right? Public transportation poses too many risks, after all. But get this. The president owned his own private jet".

"Even so..." Toji says as he looks down.

"Rich people think on a differing scale, man" Shiu says as he stops walking.

"Well, let's go eat with their money" Toji says with a smirk, "take me to one of the restaurants you use for clients".

"No way" Shiu says with a chuckle, "you never pay for a guy, anyway. I've already decided I'll only see you either for work or in Hell".

Toji watches as Shiu stubs out his cigarette under his shoe, walking away from Toji as he leaves the conversation. Toji rolls his eyes as he makes his own way back to wherever he came from. He's walking down a wide pathway with multiple pillars on each side when the sun shines brightly. He looks up, guarding his eyes from the sun as he spots someone ahead.

"Huh?" Toji says confused.

"Hey, it's been a while" Satoru says as he looks at Toji.

"For real?" Toji says in shock, wondering how the guy he drove his knife in is standing in the flesh in front of him.

"For real, real" Satoru says, highly entertained by giving the man the shock of a lifetime, "I'm alive and kicking!".

"Reverse cursed technique?" Toji questions as he spots the wound on Satoru's forehead.

"Bingo!" Satoru says as he taps the side of his head, "when you stabbed me through the throat, I gave up on counterattacking and poured all my focus into the reverse cursed technique. Cursed energy is negative energy. While it can enhance the body, it can't regenerate it. So you multiply that negative energy against itself to create positive energy. That's the reverse cursed technique. Easier said than done! I hadn't been able to do that up until now myself! And I couldn't understand anything my friend or little sister said about it since they can both do it. But I finally grasped it on the verge of death! The true essence of cursed energy! The reason you're going to lose is because you didn't chop my head off, and because you didn't use that cursed tool when you stabbed my head".

"I'm going to lose?" Toji repeats as he takes a cursed tool from the cursed spirit, "our fight is just getting started".

"Oh? Is it? Yeah... maybe so!" Satoru shouts, his whole body filled with delight and rage.

Toji runs towards Satoru as he swings for him, Satoru simply moving his head out of the way, making Toji miss his target. Toji flips the tool in his hand, swinging for Satoru again, only for him to realise that Satoru isn't where he was.

"Cursed Technique Reversal: Red" Satoru says as he uses a small amount of energy to push against Toji's tool, causing him to be pushed back as well.

The cursed spirit wraps around Toji's waist as the two of them fall back into the building. Toji looks through the debris from the crash and sees Satoru laid, floating in the air.

"Monster" Toji says with a chuckle.

He stands up, pulling another cursed tool from the cursed spirits mouth as he starts to spin a dagger connected to the end of a chain as he looks at Satoru.

Something's off. Something's off.

Toji says as he scans Satoru's expression.

"No, this is fine" Toji says with a smirk, "I'll kill you!".

Toji makes multiple attempts to slash Satoru, all to no avail.

Sorry, Amanai. I'm not even angry over you right now. I bear no grudge against anyone. It's just that the world feels so, so wonderful right now.

Satoru says as he looks up at the sky.

"Throughout Heaven and Earth, I am the honoured one" Satoru says as he looks at Toji.

Satoru and Toji continue to fight, Toji doing everything in his power to kill Satoru. Satoru then uses hollow purple, finishing the fight as he looks at Toji who's entire left side of his body is missing, a large hole carved out in the building behind him.

"Any last words?" Satoru asks as he lands on the ground.

"Nah" Toji says with a slight smile, blood pouring from his mouth, "two or three years from now, my kid will be sold off to the Zenin clan. Do what you will with that".

Satoru stands there as Toji takes his last breath, his head dropping as he dies.

--- that evening ---

"Kuina-chan, Kuina-chan! Where are you?!" Suguru yells as he runs around, trying to find Kuina who has been missing since the end of their fight against Toji.

He makes it to the park where he always takes Kuina as he sees her sitting on a swing, not saying anything, not doing anything, just sitting.

"Kuina-chan!" Suguru yells which scares Kuina who obviously wasn't paying attention.

"Suguru-san!" Kuina calls out as she stands up, running towards Suguru.

"Why the hell did you run off like that?" Suguru says as he hugs her tightly.

"I was so angry" Kuina says as she grips onto his jacket, "I didn't know what I was feeling and I didn't want to hurt Nanami-san or Haibara-chan. I was worried because I felt like all my emotions were going to burst at once. You know, Tengen-sama gave me one mission which was to kill the threat to my brother, and I couldn't even do that. Riko-chan is dead, Satoru is dead, Kuroi-san is dead and you got really hurt, Suguru-san. All because I couldn't kill one person".

"We were all unlucky that the one person you needed to kill was more skilled than we anticipated" Suguru says as he holds Kuina's shoulders, "the death's of those we lost are not your burden to bear on your own, and everyone will tell you that. Let's go back to Jujutsu High, Kuina-chan. There's a lot left we need to do".

Kuina nods as Suguru holds her hand, pulling her back towards the school when they see something slithering towards them in their path.

"Mommy!" the cursed spirit which Toji was using says as it looks up at Suguru, "hug me!".

Suguru sticks his hand out, absorbing the spirit as he takes it into his mouth, Kuina looking away at the worst part about Suguru's technique.

--- that night ---

Suguru runs down to the morgue, hearing about the fact that they were able to retrieve Riko's corpse. He makes it to the morgue, throwing open the large double doors as he looks up, seeing Satoru walking towards him, carrying Riko in his arms.

"You're late, Suguru" Satoru says as he stands in front of Suguru, "no, I guess you got here fast. There are several Star Religious Group facilities in the city, after all".

"Satoru... is that you?" Suguru asks in shock, "what happened?".

"I see you already saw Shoko" Satoru says as he looks at Suguru.

"Yeah, she healed me" Suguru says as he looks down, "I'm fine now. No, me being safe doesn't help anything here".

"I screwed up" Satoru says as he gets a better grip on Riko, "you're not at fault".

"Let's head back" Suguru says as he looks at Satoru.

"Suguru, should we kill these guys?" Satoru asks, referring to the large crowd of people who clap, despite what is actually going on, "the way I feel right now, I doubt I'd feel anything about it".

"No, there's no point" Suguru says as he looks past Satoru at all of the people, "it looks like there are only common believers here. The masterminds who know about our world have probably fled already. And unlike with the bounty, they won't be able to talk their way out of this. The organisation had problems to begin with. It'll be dissolved soon enough".

"No point, huh?" Satoru says as he walks past Suguru, "does there really need to be any point to it?".

"It's very important that there is" Suguru says as he balls his fists, "especially for a jujutsu sorcerer".
