"How fun!" Mahito exclaims as he jumps down from the ledge Xavier threw him onto.

"My cursed technique draws a long line across my target and using a ratio of 7:3, it creates a weak point at that location" Nanami explains as he looks at Mahito who looks taken aback by the fact that Nanami is revealing his technique to him, "I can create this line along more than just their full height or wingspan. I can designate it along various parts, such as the head, upper arm, forearm and so on. This cursed technique and affect more than just living creatures, as well".

"You're serious, huh?" Mahito says, entertained by Nanami's confidence.

Nanami runs around as Mahito chases him. Nanami jumps upwards and punches the ceiling above him, cursed energy scattering throughout the room. Nanami runs and grabs Kuina away from Xavier as Xavier returns to Kuina's pendant. Nanami turns around to face Mahito.

"I'm retreating for now" Nanami says as he cuts off Mahito's leg as Mahito falls to the ground, "you should get that leg healed up. If we both manage to survive, let's meet again".

Nanami walks off with Kuina on his back as Mahito watches the two of them. There is a rumbling from above him as the ceiling collapses on him. Suguru just misses the two of them as he walks inside, giving the state of the entire thing a whistle. The rubble shakes on the ground as Mahito slips through, turning his body all snake like as he returns to his regular form.

"Those two are so much fun. That guy's so reckless and that Kuina girl, the one you told me to look out for, she's a complete riot!" Mahito says happily as he sits on the ground.

"The three of you went at it quite hard then" Suguru says as he looks down at Mahito, "I told you Kuina was feisty. She always was, even since she was just a child".

"Geto, that guy was interesting too. I learned a lot from him" Mahito says as he looks up at Suguru.

"Oh?" Suguru asks, intrigued by what Mahito could've learn from his former junior at school.

"Even if I'm pulverised, I won't die as long as I maintain the shape of my soul" Mahito says as he covers his groyne, "consumption of cursed energy counts toward supplementation of the self. Also, it looks like there's no risk to me, no matter how much I tweak the shape of my own soul. Next time, I'll loose and try a bunch of things. Geto, get me some clothes".

"Nope. What happened to Nanami and Kuina then?" Suguru asks as he looks around.

"You just missed them. Nanami said they were retreating but he hit this place pretty hard with his own cursed energy so you never know, he could still be under the rubble" Mahito says as he starts to root through the rubble to find them.

--- at a public park ---

"That should do it" Kuina says as she takes her hand off of Nanami's stomach.

"Thank you, Kuina-kun" Nanami says as he starts to button up his shirt as Kuina's phone buzzes.

Kuina opens her phone and looks at the message, a message from Yuji.

Yuji: Hey, so I accidently made contact with Junpei. Please don't kill me.

"Yuji, why?" Kuina asks as she looks down.

"What's happened?" Nanami asks as he looks at Kuina.

"Yuji made contact with Junpei so I'm going to go see him" Kuina says as she stands up.

"Well okay but be careful. I'll get Ijichi to come and collect me and then I'll meet the two of you tomorrow" Nanami says as he puts away the first aid kit he got out.

"Okay, see you then Nanami-san" Kuina says as she waves to him before running off.

--- nearby the river ---

"Well I've been watching those moves a lot recently, though I haven't been to the cinemas to see them" Yuji says as he sits next to Junpei on the steps.

"What? But the emotional impact of finding a good one at the cinema is huge, even if on demand is similar" Junpei explains in disbelief.

"When was the last time I saw a movie at the cinema?" Yuji asks as he looks up at the sky where the sun is setting, "take me with you next time there's one you're into".

"Huh?" Junpei asks.

"Oh yeah, you'll need my number" Yuji says as he pulls his phone out, "how do I add friends again?".

"Oi, Yuji!" Kuina says from behind them as they look up the stairs to see Kuina standing at the top.

"Kuina, how did you find me?" Yuji asks as he stands up.

"The compass that is Xavier Sukuna when drawn to his older brother" Kuina says as she dangles her pendant slightly.

"Oh, it's you" Junpei says as Kuina starts to come down the stairs.

"Hey, how are your injuries?" Kuina asks as she stands with them.

"I'm fine. Uh, thanks for what you did that time" Junpei says nervously as he struggles to make eye contact with her.

"Junpei, is that you?" a female voice asks from the top of the stairs as the three look up and see a woman with short black hair looking down at them.

"Mom?" Junpei asks in confusion.

"It's unusual to see you out here" his Mother says as she starts to come down the stairs, "are these your friends?".

"We just met actually" Junpei says as Yuji stands up from the stairs.

"We may have just met, but I think we can be friends" Yuji says optimistically.

"Really? I hope you get along then" his Mother says as she comes over.

"Mom! I asked you to quit smoking!" Junpei says as he looks down.

"Oh, right, sorry" his Mother says as she puts out her cigarette, "I did promise to not smoke in front of you anymore. What're your friends' names?"

"Yuji Itadori!" Yuji says as he puts his arm up.

"And I'm Kuina Gojo. It's nice to meet you" Kuina says as she bows her head.

"The green onion doesn't suit your look" Yuji says as he points to the green onion sticking out of Junpei's mother's bag.

"Oh can you tell?" Junpei's Mum asks with a chuckle, "I'm trying to be a woman who doesn't look good with green onions".

"What're you even talking about?" Kuina asks, confused with the topic of conversation at hand.

"So, Yuji-kun, Kuina-kun. Do you care to call us for dinner?" Junpei's Mum asks as he looks at her and Yuji.

"H-hey, you're just bothering them" Junpei says worried that they're going to waste the two's time.

"We'd love to have dinner with you Yoshino-san" Kuina says with a smile as Yuji's stomach rumbles.

"That's great. Any allergies?" Junpei's Mum asks as they all start to walk with each other.

"Nope!" Yuji and Kuina say quite happily.

"Yoshino-san, I'm just going to make a quick phone call if that's okay" Kuina says as she pulls out her phone.

"That's fine" Junpei's Mum says as Kuina smiles as she pulls up Ijichi's contact and gives him a call.

I: Hello Kuina-kun.
K: Hi Ijichi-san. Yuji and I are going to be having dinner with Junpei and his Mother so you don't need to come pick us up.
I: What? I thought Nanami-san told you not to make contact.
K: I think after the fight with the special grade, he really doesn't care. I've already told him so you don't need to do any explaining. All you need to do is go and pick up Nanami-san from the park near the station you dropped us off at.
I: Okay, at least I don't have to deal with the wrath of Nanami-san. Alright Kuina, let me know when you need picking up.

--- at Junpei's house ---

"And then?" Junpei's Mum asks as she holds her sixth glass of wine in her hand.

"So then Takashi-kun says, full of confidence, 'this is a larva of the invasive species, it might be poisonous!'. So then I tried picking it up, and it turned out to be a konjac noodle from lunch!" Yuji explains his worst story since the one about the blocked toilet.

"Wait, konjac? It was a konjac noodle?" Junpei's Mum asks as she laughs her head off.

"Mum, you've had too much to drink" Junpei says as he holds his glass of Coke in his hand.

"You're funny, Yuji-kun" Junpei's Mum says as Kuina watches from the kitchen where she's doing the dishes, "here, do something funny with these" his Mum says as she offers him some plates and a bit of green onion.

"Wilson! Wilson!" Yuji says as he gets on the ground, acting out a scene from a movie as Junpei spits out his drink from laughter.

"That's from 'Castaway' isn't it?" Junpei says as he wipes his mouth.

"You got it!" Yuji says with a smile as Junpei continues to laugh.

"I don't get it. Is that a movie reference?" Junpei's Mum asks as she leans over, completely lost.

"They both nerds, Yoshino-san. Let them be!" Kuina says with a smile as she walks over.

"I'm sorry that I invited you over for dinner but you're doing the dishes. I'd do them myself but I don't think my legs would hold me up" Junpei's Mum says as she looks at Kuina who stands next to her.

"It's perfectly fine. I have an older brother who only just learnt what the on button on a washing machine does yesterday so I'm used to doing all of the household chores" Kuina says happily as she reassures Junpei's Mum.

A few moments later, Junpei's Mum falls to sleep.

"I can move her to her room if you'd like?" Kuina offers as Junpei comes in from his room.

"It's no bother. She'd just wake up again and make more noise" Junpei says as he lays the blanket from his room over his Mum.

"You're Mum's really nice" Yuji says as he watches Junpei.

"What are your Mum's like?" Junpei asks as he looks at Yuji and Kuina.

"Well I never met my Mother. I do have a few memories of my Father, but my Granddad was the one there most of the time" Yuji says as he scratches his head.

"I'm sorry to hear that. What about you Kuina?" Junpei asks as he and Yuji both look at her.

"They were both assholes. Really strict, hated me, loved my brother. I ran away when I was 4 and Satoru came straight after me. I haven't seen them since then. They could be dead for all I know but I couldn't care less" Kuina says as her phone starts to ring, "oh sorry, I've got a call".

Kuina walks to her phone as she answers the call from Ijichi.

K: Hey Ijichi-san.
I: Kuina-kun, are you okay?
K: Yeah, I'm fine.
I: I'm going to come and pick you and Yuji up now.
K: But we were gonna watch a movie.
I: But-
K: If you come get us two hours from now, I promise you we'll come willingly.
I: You're explaining this to Nanami-san.
K: That's fine by me.
I: Okay, enjoy your movie Kuina-kun.
K: Thanks Ijichi-san.

"Was that Ijichi-san?" Yuji asks as Kuina hangs up.

"Mmm hmm, he's gonna come and get us in about two hours so we've got enough time to watch a film" Kuina says with a smile.

"Yay! Junpei, we can watch a film!" Yuji says as he looks at Junpei.

"That's great. Come have a look at the collection" Junpei says excitedly as Yuji runs over.

"Kuina, do you have a preference?" Yuji asks as he looks at her.

"I don't mind. Whatever you two want to watch will be fine" Kuina says with a small smile.

The three of them finally get sat down and they're about to start the movie when Junpei puts down the remote.

"The two of you are jujutsu sorcerer's right?" Junpei asks as he looks down at his lap.

"How did you know?" Yuji asks in disbelief.

"Jujutsu sorcerer's are actually quite well known amongst mundanes, passed down through tales in mundane families. But through the years we got ostracised and we became rumoured witches who liked to curse humans or something like that" Kuina says as she rolls her eyes.

"Well in my family, you were quite popular. That was why I asked" Junpei says as he looks at the two of them, "have you ever... killed anyone?".

"Nope" Yuji says as he looks at Kuina.

"But someday you'll have to fight bad jujutsu sorcerer's right?" Junpei says as he puts a pillow onto his lap, "what will you do then?".

"I still wouldn't want to kill them" Yuji says as he looks down.

"Why not? They're bad people" Junpei says as he looks at Yuji.

"It's like... I just think, if I killed anyone, the option of "killing" would force its way into my life" The value of life would become ambiguous. I wouldn't even understand the importance of those that I care about. And that scares me" Yuji explains as Kuina looks at him, shocked at the sheer amount of smart and meaningful words that are spilling from his lips.

--- two hours later, back at Satoru's house ---

"Kuina. Earlier, when Junpei asked if we've ever killed someone. Why did you keep quiet?" Yuji asks as he sits on Kuina's bed across from her.

"Because I've killed someone" Kuina says simply.

"Do you mind telling me what happened?" Yuji asks as he looks at Kuina and she looks at him.

"It happened when I was four. There was this really bad person from the Zenin clan. He was attacking Satoru and I saw it all happen in front of me, Nanami-san was there too. Satoru ended up getting badly hurt and I went mad with rage" Kuina says as she looks down at her lap, "the sheer amount of cursed energy that I let off killed all of the jujutsu sorcerer's in the area we were in. I killed around 70 people because I let my emotions falter. Only Nanami-san, Satoru, Satoru's friend at the time and that man survived".

"Kuina, I'm so sorry" Yuji says as he realises how upset Kuina is becoming.

"And that's why I don't let people see my emotions, because my emotions have killed people. That's why I was so mean to you. I don't let people in because I'm scared of hurting them" Kuina says as she starts to cry.

"But you let me in. And that has to count for something" Yuji says as he moves to Kuina and he hugs her tightly, "you could never hurt me Kuina. I'm not scared of you, nor am I scared of your emotions or your power. So don't push me away okay. I'm here for you".

"Okay Yuji" Kuina says with a small chuckle as she hugs him back, continuing to cry.

--- the next day ---

"You did what?" Yuji asks in disbelief.

"I told Kuina-kun to keep this from you, do not raise your voice at her. That special grade is serious about wanting to kill. I didn't want you to-" Nanami tries to explain to Yuji.

"You didn't want me to get in the way? Is that it Nanamin?" Yuji asks angrily, "the two of you were injured, weren't you? Next time, take me with you. 'My partner died. But I wasn't there at the time. Why? Because I am a child'. I don't want any of that".

"You can't" Kuina says as she leans against the wall, "as you already know, this patchwork cursed spirit uses transfigured people. There are some people who are beyond saving. If you continue this work, there will come a time where you're forced to kill someone yourself. And you understand how that affected me. So I'm going to make sure that this is not that time".

"Please understand this" Nanami says as he looks at Yuji, "being a child is not a sin. I would like to ask you to continue monitoring Junpei Yoshino. Kuina and I will continue our own work. Let's go, Kuina".

Kuina walks off with Nanami as they leave Yuji with his own thoughts. Kuina and Nanami are patrolling the streets when Kuina stops in her tracks.

"Kuina-kun, what's wrong?" Nanami asks as he stops as well.

"Something's wrong" Kuina says as she looks around.

"What do you mean? Do you not feel well?" Nanami asks as he puts a hand on his hip.

"No, it's not that. Something's up with Yuji. I can feel it. It's weird" Kuina says as she looks up.

"Is Itadori-kun ill?" Nanami asks as he looks at her.

"No, it's not like he's ill. I think he's in danger" Kuina says as she looks at Nanami.

"I'll call Ijichi-kun" Nanami says as he pulls out his phone.

"We don't have time for that, I need to be with Yuji. Meet me at Junpei's school, I think that's where Yuji is" Kuina says as she holds her hands together and she disappears, a black lining burnt into the ground where she was standing.

"I forgot she can do that. At certain times of the year, on certain nights when the moon is a certain shape" Nanami says as he looks up at the crescent moon above him, "Kuina Gojo can tap into the power of the Gojo clan, the limitless technique, and become unstoppable".
