"Well this place is disgusting" Kuina says as she looks around at the state of the sewer that she and Nanami currently stand in, "are you sure they're here Nanami-san?".

"I'm sure, Kuina-kun. The residuals tracked back to here. Either this really is their hideout, or they're luring us into a trap" Nanami says as he looks at Kuina.

"I'm betting on the latter" Kuina says as she looks over Nanami's shoulder as the 6 grade two spirits that slowly make their way over to them.

"You take the three on that side, I'd handle these three" Nanami says as Kuina nods before she jumps over to the other side of the sewer.

Kuina takes out her chains and she pulls them through her hands as she imbues her cursed energy into the chains. She slumps them over her shoulder as she runs around the three curses, tying them all up together. She pulls out a cleaver as she runs at the curses and she imbues it with her cursed energy, cutting them and paralysing them.

"Kuina, swap!" Nanami says as he and Kuina throws their weapons at each other.

Kuina grabs Nanami's weapon which helps her exorcise the curses as Nanami imbues his own energy into Kuina's cleaver as he exorcises the curses. Kuina jumps back over to Nanami's side as the two swap weapons once more.

"Nanami-san... I can sense them" Kuina says as she looks around.

"If you plan to come out, please hurry up and do so" Nanami says as he stands there, blood dripping from his weapon, "they may be disfigured and beyond saving, but murdering people makes me feel sick".

"Ah, what a relief!" a higher pitched male voice says as a man who looks mid 20s comes out of the shadows of the sewer, "I'd be in trouble if Satoru Gojo was here, but it's not much of an experiment if you're too weak".

"I hate overtime so let's just finish this quickly" Nanami says as he grips the back of his neck.

"Aw... and who's this little cutie right here? Still a first year?" Mahito asks as he looks at Kuina as he goes to touch her, only to have his wrist cut off by her.

"Who are you calling cute?" Kuina asks as she kicks the man backwards.

"I can tell you don't want to be my friend" Mahito says as he imbues his fists with cursed energy, "that's fine... I'll just have to kill you".

Kuina runs at Mahito and swings her weapon at him as he blocks the attack.

"Kuina-kun. Since this is a learning experience for you, I won't butt in until you need me. Is that okay with you?" Nanami asks as he leans against the wall of the sewer.

"Fine by me!" Kuina says as she and Mahito continue to throw punches at each other.

They're similar. That picture perfect frivolity, and the sinister strength behind it. He's exactly like Gojo-san.

Nanami tells himself as Mahito jumps into the water of the sewer to create some space between him and Kuina, only for Kuina to follow him in, not letting up for a second. Kuina continues to swing as Mahito punches the water as she dodges. Kuina swings for Mahito and then round house kicks him in the face as Mahito is knocked back. Kuina runs at Mahito as she swings at his arm and cuts his wrist so it's hanging off by the stitches it's sewed on with.

"I did block it, didn't I? With cursed energy" Mahito says confused as he swings his dismembered limb around in front of his face, "is this that kind of technique?".

"What do you mean "that kind"?" Nanami asks as from behind Kuina as Kuina brings out a sword as she holds it towards Mahito, "I hate abstract questions that leave interpretation up to others".

"That's good" Mahito says with a small smile, "so you don't hate chatting, then".

"I for one loathe it" Kuina says angrily, "I like to get shit done with minimal effort".

"It depends on the person" Nanami says as he stands up straight.

This cursed spirit is quite capable at holding a conversation. Just like the two unregistered special grades Gojo-san, Yuji-kun and Kuina-kun all fought. I suppose it would be unnatural for them to be unrelated.

Nanami tells himself as he examines the cursed spirit.

"Hey, tell me" Mahito says as he looks at Kuina, "which do you think came first, the soul, or the body? Come on, you know. It's like the question of whether the chicken on the egg came first. Do you think the soul resides in the body? Or do you think the body forms around the soul?".

"Did you not just hear the part where I said I loathe chatting?" Kuina asks as she rolls her eyes.

"The former" Nanami says from behind Kuina, speaking on behalf of her.

"Nope. The answer is the latter" Mahito says disappointedly as he heals his arm, "the soul always exists before the body. The shape of the body is pulled along with the shape of the soul. I'm not healing, I'm just strongly maintaining the shape of my soul. You understand now, don't you? My technique is to make contact with the soul and alter its shape. Idle Transfiguration" Mahito brings out a small disfigured human before Kuina and Nanami's eyes as he transforms it into a larger creature, holding two smaller ones between his fingers, "I keep a stockpile of humans. It's rather difficult, though. Normal people eventually die when their shape is transfigured. But what about jujutsu sorcerers?".

"It's 5:30pm" Nanami says as he walks so he's next to Kuina, "I started work at 10am today, so I'm getting off at 6pm, no matter what it takes. Kuina, you're either gonna kill this thing in 30 minutes or we'll come back another day, got it?".

"Crystal clear, Nanami-san" Kuina says as she runs at Mahito.

Mahito jumps backwards as he alters the shape of his arms. They stretch towards Kuina as she ducks and rolls out of the way. Kuina cuts the arms off, only for Mahito to regrow them as he goes for her again. Kuina ducks down as the arms punch the wall behind her. Kuina jumps towards Mahito as he jumps as well.

"Your mobility is incredible" Mahito says as he looks at her.

Mahito throws his arms as Kuina as she lands. Kuina starts to run as the arms follow her. She jumps upwards as she pushes off the room, spinning in the air as she cuts off the arms. Kuina lands as she slips on something on the ground. Mahito runs to her and grabs her as he puts his arm on her stomach. Mahito smiles as he looks up at Kuina, only to realise that she isn't effected by his technique.

"What the-?" Mahito asks as something punches Mahito into the wall behind him.

Kuina watches as Xavier appears in front of her.

"What do you think you're doing? Touching my soul like that. What a pain" Xavier says as he stands next to Kuina.

"Kuina-kun, I thought you were told to keep Xavier concealed" Nanami says as he looks at her.

"I am. At least I think I am" Kuina says as she looks at Xavier.

"Kuina" Xavier says as he turns around to look at Kuina, holding Mahito back with his telekinesis, "do you want me to help you?".

"No" Kuina says as she hears Nanami groan from across the sewer.

Kuina looks past Xavier's shoulder as she sees Mahito with his hand on Nanami's stomach. Within a second, Kuina is in the same vicinity as Mahito and Nanami as she kicks Mahito in the side of the head, launching him away from Nanami.

"Nanami-san, are you okay?" Kuina asks as she helps Nanami stand up.

"I'm okay, I'm not injured. It just aches a little bit, that's all" Nanami says as Xavier supports Nanami from the other side.

Mahito and Kuina throw themselves at each other us as Mahito swings from Kuina as she ducks out of the way before swinging her own weapon.

"I'm not going to let you go" Mahito says as he grabs Kuina by her collar.

Kuina hits his arms out of the way as she plunges her weapon into Mahito's throat. Mahito throws her backwards as she stumbles, only to proper her stance again. Kuina spots a large part of the sewer which is empty behind Mahito as she jumps over him. Kuina runs off the in direction of the large opening as Mahito runs after her, Xavier and Nanami following in suit. Mahito grabs Kuina and throws her into the wall behind her as he forces a lot of cursed energy onto her.

"Is that all you got?" Mahito asks as he crouches down to her, "and I was starting to like playing with you" Mahito says as he leans into Kuina's ear and he whispers, "maybe I should take you back to Geto-san as a souvenir".

"Well I guess this is it" Nanami says from behind Mahito as Xavier throws Mahito towards Nanami before coming to Kuina, "I'm going into overtime now".
