It seemed time was slowing down in detention. Both girls sat next to each other. Jessica occasionally stole glances at Judy, looking away when Judy was about to notice. One time, Judy saw her.

"What?" she asked. Jessica blushed. 

"Nothing..." she lied. 

"You're definitely staring, I can tell. It's weird! What's up with you?" Judy interrogated.

"Nothing's up with me." Jessica shot back. "I just want this stupid detention to be over already." 

Judy rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, I agree. I didn't even deserve it, I said ONE little insult to the teacher!"

Jessica had a "is this girl serious" look on her face.

"You called her a fat skank cow bitch who couldn't keep her husband to stay or her legs closed and probably got railed by every guy in town, including the dogs."

Judy stifled a laugh, "Okay, yeah, maybe I did say that but SHE DESERVED IT."

"All she said was not to play your music too loud." Jessica said, rolling her eyes. Judy pouted. "Who's side are you on, anyways?"

Jessica rolled her eyes. She stared at Judy some more. Judy scowled at her.

"Seriously, Jess! Stop staring, it's creeping me out!"

"Don't do it." Jessica thought to herself."Jessica Finch, don't you do it."

Judy noticed Jessica's expression go weird like she was having a conflict in her head. She raised an eyebrow.

"What is wrong with you? You're being so weird!"

Jessica wrapped her arms around Judy's neck and pressed her lips against Judy's. The ginger's expression became one of shock as Jessica kissed her. Her face reddened and she didn't move or say anything. It took around ten seconds for Judy to finally start to respond to the kiss, moving a hand to Jessica's waist and pulling her even closer. After a while of being lips locked, Jessica pulled away.

"Ah! Judy! I-I'm so sorry! I just couldn't help it! It's just you were right there and I couldn't help myself. I-I really like you, Judy. Like, like-like you. But I shouldn't have... Oh, I'm so stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid!!"

"J-Jess! Wait!" Judy grabbed her wrist to stop her from pulling away completely, as she tried to get a hold of her own thoughts. "You aren't stupid! You're brave! Bold! I-"

Judy was blushing so badly that she had no idea what she was saying. Jessica was confused at what Judy was trying to say. Then her eyes widened as the taller girl kissed her. Judy's eyes closed as she kissed her friends lips- no, girlfriend's lips now. She grabbed her waist and pulled her closer, letting the kiss deepen.

After a while, they pulled away.

"Judy..."

Judy was breathless from the kiss.

"Jess... I like you too. I have for a while now! I just couldn't bring myself to say anything because I didn't know how you'd react.."

Tears prickled the brunette's eyes. Judy reached up and wiped her tears away gently with her thumb. "C'mon, you're gonna ruin your mascara."

Jessica couldn't help but giggle, snorting a little. Judy smiled at the sound of her friend's laughter. Or well, girlfriend now, she thought. She leaned forward and planted a kiss on her cheek, not thinking about detention anymore, and only focusing on the girl in front of her.

"...I can't...I don't....is this...a dream...?"

Judy laughed. She was in disbelief as well.

"Trust me, it's not a dream."

Judy cupped her face and softly ran her thumbs across Jessica's cheeks.

"I love you so much.." Jessica said. She said it loud and she said it extra proud.

"I love you too, Jess. So much!" Judy smiled. "We're girlfriends now, yeah?"

Jessica loved the sound of that. "Girlfriends...yeah..."

Judy hugged her tightly, nuzzling her neck a bit. The bell rang. Detention was over. Judy pouted.

"Now we have to go back to actual school."

She kissed Jessica's forehead one last time and then stood, pulling her up with her.

"Ready love?" Jessica asked, holding her hand.

"She called me love." Judy thought. "Rare."

"Ready, gorgeous." Judy grabbed her hand and walked with her out of the detention room.
